Lisa Ann (Von Niederhausern) Olson, 61, passed away August 25, 2023 at KU Medical Center.
Lisa was born in Salina, Kansas on June 6, 1962, the daughter of David and Lorita (Bond) Von Niederhausern. Growing up, Lisa attended Salina schools, eventually graduating from Salina Central High School in 1980. She later attended Hutchinson Community College. Lisa married Dee Farmer in 1986 and together they welcomed a son, Andrew John. Later, in 1994, Lisa found a life partner in Jeff Olson and became a bonus mom to Scott. In addition to her role as mom, she loved being MeMe to her three grandchildren Silas, Witt and Sayre.
Throughout her life, she embraced various roles and jobs, demonstrating her ability to succeed at anything she put her mind to. Lisa helped manage the family's small business, Speedline Racing Products, contributing to its growth and success. A true enthusiast, she wholeheartedly embraced sports and various hobbies, but her heart belonged to dirt track racing. The exhilaration of the track, the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts, and the thrill of the sport were a testament to her adventurous spirit.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents David & Lorita (Bond) Von Niederhausern and mother in law Bonnie Olson. Lisa is survived by her husband Jeff Olson, her sons Andrew (Hannah) and Scott, three grandchildren, sister Amy Rice (Bill), sister-in-law Sabrina Bergman, father-in-law Bob Olson along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind a community of friends who will forever cherish the time spent with her.
Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love and passion that touched the lives of many in the community. She will be truly missed by her family and those who knew her.
While Lisa’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Lisa in a way that honors her spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held September 23rd , 2023 at the Salina Art Center from 10am – 12pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Lisa’s honor to the following organizations which greatly impacted her.
