Elouise Patricia (Neill) Edwards was born on July 13, 1937, in Salina, Kansas, to the parents of Harvey and Alice (Vandruff) Neill.&nbsp; Elouise enjoyed the outdoors while fishing, camping, and later in life, became an avid golfer.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was able to attend a golf tournament to watch Tiger Woods play.&nbsp;&nbsp;Her interests also included playing bridge, spending the winters in Texas, and socializing with her friends.

Elouise married Jack Edwards on November 8, 1968, in Pampa, Texas.&nbsp; They settled in McPherson, Kansas where she lived for 53 years until moving into Pine Village in Moundridge Kansas. Her marriage with Jack included her four children; Pamela, Angelina, Lynette, and Jeff.&nbsp; The youngest was to lose his life in a tragic car accident, which deeply affected the entire family. Jeff had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, which made saying goodbye to Jeff a little easier.

In addition to her outdoor activities, Elouise’s years in McPherson were filled with raising a family, spending time with friends, and was joint owner of Edwards Backhoe Service and Edwards Oil Properties.&nbsp; Elouise was a very important part of making those businesses successful.

She also had a knack for interior decorating, which was very evident in all her homes.&nbsp; In her life, she was always willing to help people with their decorating questions or needs.&nbsp; Her ability to look at decorating issues and see multiple solutions was a great attribute.&nbsp;

In her younger days, Elouise sang hymns for church services and weddings.&nbsp; Now, all the hymns she sang as a vocalist have become a reality to her. There must have been a great rejoicing when Jeff, Jack, and Elouise met in heaven.

Elouise passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Pine Village, Moundridge, at the age of 88.

Survivors include: three daughters, Pamela Wilson (Roy) of Fulton, IL, Angelina Bonham (Vernon) of McPherson, KS, and Lynette Reagan of McPherson, KS; a brother, Tom Neill&nbsp; (Phyllis) of Wichita, KS; and a sister, Joyce Tauscher of Hays, KS; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bonham, Amanda Wilson, Rachel (Bonham) Anderson, Jeff Wilson, Nathan Reagan, Emily (Reagan) Speirs, and Josh Wilson; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Edwards; a son, Jeffery Holtzclaw; and one brother, Lorne Neill.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the McPherson Cemetery.

Deborah Searcy, 73, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025. 

Born on July 18, 1952, in Junction City, Kansas, she was the beloved daughter of Charles and Mary (Barrett) Brown.&nbsp;Deborah spent much of her career as a Unit Secretary at Salina Regional Health Center, where she was known for her dedication and steady presence. In retirement, she found joy in spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren grow, and collecting snowmen—small things that brought her quiet happiness.&nbsp;

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Thomas Searcy, with whom she just celebrated 54 years of marriage. She also leaves behind two children: Jake Searcy of Salina, Kansas, and Blair (Jason) Cox of Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp;Deborah was a proud grandmother to Wesley, Addison, Ryann, Kennadi, and Aislinn. She is survived by several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.&nbsp;Deborah is also survived by her three brothers, who shared in her life’s journey: Michael (Kathleen) Brown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Steve Brown of Salina, Kansas; and Mark Brown of Columbia, Missouri.

In accordance with Deborah’s wishes, no formal service will be held.

Duane Lee Ferguson, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on October 25th, 2025, in Salina KS.

Born on October 1st, 1934, in Grand Island, NE. Duane was the son of Harry Ferguson and Clarabelle (Brust) Ferguson. He later moved to Salina, KS where he attended Salina High School and laid the foundation of the of a life marked by dedication to family, faith, and hard work.

Throughout his working years, Duane held many varied jobs. His true passion was in sales – he had a natural gift for connecting with people and never met a stranger.

Duane married Laveda Johannes, the love of his life, on May 1st, 1954. They shared 71 years together. He is survived by his wife and children Connie (Roy) Rivers, Mike, Greg and Jim (Farah), 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darrell and his daughter Cathy. He instilled strong values in his family that continues to guide them today.

In earlier years, Duane found joy in fishing and boating with his family. As time went on, he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren and took pleasure in simple pastimes like working in the yard, working on puzzles and completing word searches. He loved being outdoors – traveling, camping and enjoying nature.

A man of deep faith, Duane was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina. He loved his Lord and Savior.

Duane Lee Ferguson will be remembered for his zest for life, his laughter, his unwavering work ethic and the love he shared with all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E Cloud St. Salina. Burial will follow at Mt. Marilyn Joyce Correll Helmer, 84, of Tescott, KS died October 22, 2025, at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS. Marilyn was born August 29, 1941, in Detroit, KS to Alice McCosh Correll and Frank Edison Correll. Marilyn’s mother Alice was a homemaker and Marilyn’s father Frank was the superintendent of Dickinson County schools and Secretary of the Mutal Aid Association of the Church of the Brethren. Marilyn graduated from Chapman High School in 1959 and attended McPherson College.

It was at McPherson College that Marilyn met Martin Helmer of Canton, KS. They got married on December 23, 1961. Martin and Marilyn started their married lives in Buckeye, KS. 3 children followed, Patty, Paul and Jon.

Marilyn was gifted as a vocalist. At Chapman High School, Marilyn performed with the Harmonettes quartet, who received recognition and awards regionally and at the state level. Marilyn was a member of the Sweet Adelines in Abilene.

The family moved to Tescott in 1965 where Martin was Principal of Tescott Grade School for 36 years and Marilyn immersed herself in community and school activities. She entertained many friends, neighbors, relatives and her children’s friends in their home. Everyone was welcome and greeted with a beverage, snack or meal.

Marilyn had two grandchildren, Aaron and Conner, and two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Nathan. Visits to Grandma and Grandpa’s house through the years resulted in consuming Grandpa burgers, many pies and cookies, Kansas history lessons, family history and soaking up lots of love.

Marilyn was especially fond of children, and was the mom, aunt or cousin who always “sat at the children’s table” to help entertain the children. Her relatives, friends, neighbors, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have witnessed, benefitted and maybe gotten into some trouble due to her fun-loving and slightly rebellious nature.

As her children left the nest Marilyn started her career as a business owner and Kansas Ambassador. Marilyn opened Village Lines in Lincoln, KS in 1986, supporting and featuring Kansas artists. Marilyn incorporated her knowledge and desire to provide healthy, natural and gluten free food items to her line.

Through the year she has forged friendships in Lincoln and across Kansas in the effort to showcase the Sunflower state and the town of Lincoln. She helped launch Kansas Originals located on 1-70, showcasing Kansas artists and makers. She twice served as Lincoln Chamber of Commerce President, helped establish the Northeast Kansas Tourism Commission, and served on a year-long Governor’s Tourism Task Force. She was recognized as a “We Can” recipient of the Kansas Sampler Foundation, was recognized by the Kansas Legislature as one of Kansas’ businesses of the year, and was featured with life-long friend Terry Tietjens in Kansas! Magazine as a “Kansas Finest” for promoting Kansas.

Marilyn co-authored with Shirley Buchanan “A True Account of the 1911 ‘Tar Party’ of Shady Bend, Kansas”, blending her love of Kansas history and story-telling. Marlin Fitzwater, former White House Press Secretary and a friend of Marilyn’s wrote the forward for the book and helped promote it.

Survivors include her husband, Martin of Tescott;&nbsp; daughter Patty Sargent and husband Andy of Papillion, NE; son Jon Helmer of Denver, Co; son Paul Helmer of Henderson, NV; grandsons Aaron Sargent of LaVista, NE and Conner Sargent of Pelham, NH; great grandchildren Thomas Sargent and Nathan Sargent of LaVista, NE; sister Nadene Lauer (Keith, deceased) of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law Eleanor Correll (Dale, deceased of Abilene, KS.&nbsp; Marilyn is also survived by brothers-in-law David Helmer (Marilyn), Paul Helmer (Charlene), Ted Helmer (Carolyn), sister-in-law Cynthia Helmer (Luther, deceased) and brother-in-law Keith Stuewe (Ruth, deceased), and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Doris Moore and husband Maurice of Waterloo, IA, and brother Dale Correll (deceased) of Abilene, KS.

Whether doling out sunflower seed cookies, pie, a cup of coffee or imparting wisdom, showing love through hospitality was her passion. Marilyn shared her infectious personality, generous spirit and genuine caring nature to all who knew her. She was a deeply committed Christian who shared the light of Jesus through the way she lived her life and through her love and caring concern for everyone she encountered.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 1,&nbsp;2025, 11 AM, at the Lincoln High School gymnasium, 701 E. North St., Lincoln, KS. Luncheon to follow at the Lincoln County Historical Museum, 216 W. Lincoln Ave, Lincoln, KS.

Marilyn Joyce Correll Helmer

Betty Ann (Rolfs) Waters, 98, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 20, 2025.

Betty was a lifelong resident of Junction City and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty had a keen mind and a gracious heart, loved singing in the Presbyterian Church Choir, being active in PEO and Ladies Reading Club, and doting on her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She led a beautiful, full life and was known for her bright smile and loving heart. Betty passed the day before what would have been her husband's birthday, so after about 17 years apart, she was reunited with Bob to celebrate with him in heaven.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bob Waters, parents E.W. and Evelina Rolfs, and her brother E. J. Rolfs.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Eunice Rolfs (Junction City), her three children and their spouses: Jim (Bev) Waters (Salina, Kansas), Peggy (Glen) Erickson (Wichita, Kansas), Clarence (Jean) Waters (Omaha, Nebraska); eight grandchildren: Steven Waters, Scott Waters, Jennifer Waters, Christopher (Katie) Erickson, Alexandra (Dusty) Kossen, Sean Erickson, Lela (Tim) Wilson, Paul Waters; seven great-grandchildren – all who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation will be Friday, November 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Johnson &amp; Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home in Junction City. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Junction City.

Linda Collins, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born in December of 1950, in Hays, Kansas, to Jerry and Corinne Wilson, and spent her life enriching those around her with her unwavering spirit and love for music.

In June of 1976, Linda married the love of her life, Barry Collins, of Salina, Kansas. They shared a deep bond and a mutual love for music until Barry's passing in June 2023.

Linda was a proud mother to her, daughter Amy Collins and son Robert Collins, who, along with his wife Kathryn Collins, continue to carry forth her values of compassion and creativity. She found immense joy in being a grandmother to her two granddaughters, Samantha and Abigail,&nbsp;

Her family also included her sister Carolee Little and her husband Barry Little of Castlewood SD, and a brother Marc Wilson and his wife Cathi of Manhattan KS and Sister-in-law Mary Collins of Council Grove. &nbsp;She is also survived by Leon and Laura Miller, her uncle and aunt, of Dallas TX. &nbsp; &nbsp;Linda also has 3 cousins, five nephews and four nieces and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Linda's joy for music was obvious to those she taught during her 35-year career teaching music in the Salina area. Beyond the classroom her influence reached countless students as she served as the Director of the Salina Children's Choir and the Salina Silvertones Choir, As well as singing with the Trinity United Methodist Church Choir and the Salina Chorale.

Linda's spirit was characterized by her joyfulness, positivity, and an unwavering willingness to encourage those around her. &nbsp;It is difficult to recall her ever speaking discouraging word.&nbsp;

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Good Shepherd Hospice and Kenwood View Rehabilitation for their compassionate care.

Daniel Hyde Moss, 91, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Born in Beloit, Kansas, on August 9, 1934, to Eva (Vanschoick) and Leroy Moss, Dan lived a full and adventurous life. In his younger years, he found joy in skydiving and scuba diving around island destinations. He was also a passionate big game hunter and a dedicated collector of firearms.

In 1954, Dan married the love of his life, Berta Timbers Moss. Together, they shared many happy years until her passing in 2022. Dan’s career as a water well driller took him and his family across various states, shaping a life rich in experience and resilience.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Krista Decker (Kurt); sons, Zan Moss (Kerry) and Arden Moss (Jodi); sister, Evelyn Adams; and sister-in-law, Bernita Eberle. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jordan, Kanah, Preston, Sarah, Janny Tam, Kayli, and Libby; as well as 13 great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Berta, two brothers, and two sisters.Cremation has been chosen, and a memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Salina, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Daniel Hyde Moss

Rosemary Eva (Rosie Beach) Cowan passed away October 22, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born in Hays, Kansas, on February 22, 1941, to Glenn and Eva Beach of WaKeeney, Kansas.

Following graduation from WaKeeney High School, she attended and graduated from Kansas Wesleyan College in Salina. She married Wendell Cowan in 1962 then moved to Bennington where she taught music in the school system for three years.

A move to Wichita resulted in the birth of two sons. The next move was to Whitewater, Kansas, where she taught kindergarten for the next 21 years. She retired in 1997. Her final move after her husband retired from teaching was to Lucas, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband Wendell of 63 years, by their first son Stanley (Sherry) Cowan and their two sons Sawyer and Samson and a daughter Sydney, and by their second son Steven (Missie) Cowan and their two daughters Grace and Joy, and son Grant.

Rosie is also survived by a sister Barbara Mace and a brother Ray Beach.

Rosie Eva Cowan

Joyce LaVonne Ades (née Hanson), age 92, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Joyce was born in Dayton, Iowa, to William and Florence Hanson and grew up in Boxholm, Iowa, alongside her older sister Francis Borich and older brother William Hanson, Jr. She was married and had two daughters which she raised on her own. Joyce spent most of her adult life in Salina, Kansas, raising daughters Peggy Sue Hayes and Cindy Lea Bieker Resley.&nbsp;

She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving the Salina community with dedication and care. She also found the time to help at the local United Methodist Church on camping trips with her daughters.&nbsp;

Joyce had a lifelong love of animals. She was active in the dog show community as both a participant and judge and later developed a fondness for cats. In her retirement, she enjoyed playing the bells with the Charming Chimers, reading, and collecting glass baskets.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Stephanie Bieker of New York, NY, and Rachel Bieker of Bennington, KS, and her great-grandson, Ryan Bieker of Bennington, KS.She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her daughters Peggy Sue and Cindy Lea. She is loved and remembered by those family and friends who remain.&nbsp;

The family will hold a private memorial in Boxholm, Iowa at a later date.

Patricia Geralyn Hake, 65, of Salina, passed away on October 20, 2025. She was born on February 25, 1960, in Concordia, Kansas, to Herman Joseph and Phyllis Maxine (Bossen) Hake.

Patricia's greatest passion in life was thrifting—she never missed a yard sale in Salina. With a keen eye for hidden gems and vintage collectibles, she had a talent for finding treasures and always negotiated the best price. She often traveled across the state to flea markets to sell her finds, making stops at local antique malls and yard sales along the way.

She also loved attending local concerts in Salina, going to as many as she could. Patricia was a devoted supporter of local bands and welcomed any musician who visited the area.

Patricia and her husband, John, enjoyed vacationing in Nashville, where they embraced the city's lively music scene, delicious food, and rich history.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Phyllis Hake; her brothers, Lonny and Richie; and her sister, Judy.

She is survived by her husband, John Keil; her sisters, Joy Roush and Debbie (Danny) Kern; her brother, Jim (Doris) Hake; and her children, Jeremy Snapp, Shannon Snapp, and Amy Frank.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, also at Ryan Mortuary, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Jamestown, Kansas.

Patricia Geralyn Hake

Karl Kent Kavel, M.D.,&nbsp;was born on March 29, 1936, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, the son of George C. and Naomi R. (Harris) Kavel.

Kent led a distinguished career in medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1959, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1964 from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest College. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, D.C., in 1968 and became board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1970.

In 1971, Kent pursued a residency in Pediatric Allergy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The following year, he passed the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, certifying him to practice medicine and surgery in the state. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Allergy at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1972 and became board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in 1974.

He was devoted to the care of children and their families and practiced medicine with compassion, curiosity, and commitment. Remarkably, he continued working well into his late 70s, retiring at the age of 80.

Kent married the love of his life, Marcia Kathryn Bonebreak on August 5, 1961, in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage before her passing. His favorite thing to do was anything that included Marcia. Together, they enjoyed socializing, traveling, reading, yard work, crossword puzzles, wine, and lifelong learning.

Kent was a unique individual—highly intelligent, yet equally gifted in athletics and the arts. Above all, Kent was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Desbien of Lindsborg, Kansas; his two grandchildren, Hayes and Isabelle; and his brother, Tim Kavel of Saint Simons Island, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcia.

Cremation has taken place, and in accordance with Kent’s wishes, no memorial services are planned. A private inurnment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1959, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1964 from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest College. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Walter Reed General Hospital in Washington, D.C., in 1968 and became board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1970.In 1971, Kent pursued a residency in Pediatric Allergy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The following year, he passed the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, certifying him to practice medicine and surgery in the state. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Allergy at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1972 and became board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in 1974.He was devoted to the care of children and their families and practiced medicine with compassion, curiosity, and commitment. Remarkably, he continued working well into his late 70s, retiring at the age of 80.Kent married the love of his life, Marcia Kathryn Bonebreak on August 5, 1961, in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage before her passing. His favorite thing to do was anything that included Marcia. Together, they enjoyed socializing, traveling, reading, yard work, crossword puzzles, wine, and lifelong learning.Kent was a unique individual—highly intelligent, yet equally gifted in athletics and the arts. Barbara Ruth Mallon, 88, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Born in Lyons Kansas, Barbara graduated Boulder High School. Homesick for Kansas, she returned to get her BS in medical technology at K-State beginning a lifetime career in healthcare. During her senior year of college, she completed an internship at the State Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado, and then began a series of further adventures: first the Northern Pacific Beneficial Hospital in Glendive, Montana, (where she enjoyed square dancing and friendships), then her faith led her to a position at the Maynard-McDougal Memorial Hospital in Nome, Alaska (as part of a Methodist mission), before returning home to Boulder in 1962 and briefly working at Colorado General in Denver. 

Soon she accepted a position at Presbyterian Mora Valley Medical Clinic in the mountains of New Mexico, where she stayed for two years, before returning to home in Kansas and a job in Salina. She spent nearly 40 years working in the laboratory at what was then Asbury Hospital (and is now Salina Regional Health Center).

It was in Salina that she joined a church group for young adults, finding many friends, and ultimately a special man, Jerry, to whom she was married until his passing in 2015.

Throughout her long life, she was guided and comforted by her Christian faith, and she manifested her faith in the concern she had for others, including the support she offered to her mother, her brother Ralph, and her husband during long illnesses.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Ron Mallon (Johnelle Lamarque) and Gary Mallon; two brothers, Ray McKinnis (Nan Scarborough) and Lawrence McKinnis; and two grandchildren, Avanel Mallon and Louis Mallon.

Barbara Ruth Mallon

Garry H. Batt, 81, of rural Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at his home with his wife by his side.

Garry was born October 29, 1943 in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; He was one of three children to Herman and Esther (Elsasser) Batt.&nbsp; He grew up in northern Barton County and graduated from Hoisington High School in 1961.&nbsp; He then attended and graduated from the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; He served his country in the US Army from 1962 to 1964 and saw active duty in Vietnam.&nbsp; After his tour of duty, he returned to northern Barton County.

Garry met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Ellen Boxberger on October 23, 1965 in Milberger, Kansas.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two sons; Terry and Tom.&nbsp; They lived in Milberger for a short time before moving out to the farm.

Garry was a Farmer and Rancher.&nbsp; He also was owner and operator of Garry Batt Real Estate Auction and worked with Don Krug with K&amp;B Auction Service.&nbsp; He was very active in trap shooting contests for many years.&nbsp; He was an oil pumper for many years and did dirt work for H.S. Radke.&nbsp; He served on the Township Board for 35 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the American Trap Association and the Kansas Trap Association and was a life member of the Russell V.F.W. #6240.&nbsp; He loved playing Polka with the Dutchmasters and the Polka Kings.&nbsp; In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and traveling around with Ellen.

Garry’s surviving family include his wife of 59 years, Ellen of the home; son, Tom Batt (Sandy) of Russell, Kansas; sister, Shirley Dewald of Russell, Kansas; two grandchildren, Christopher Batt and Cody Batt; two step grandchildren, Craig Boos and Jakob Boos; three great grandchildren, Sophia Batt, Hagen Batt, and Cheyenne Batt; and step great grandchild, Claire Boos.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Batt; and sister, Arletta Batt.

James (Jim) Frederick Lowery, Jr., 83, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Jim was born July 16, 1942, to Fred and Florence Lowery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he lived with his parents and two sisters, Pat and Sharon. Immediately after graduating high school, Jim joined the Army serving most of his enlisted time overseas in Germany.

Once returning home and moving to Memphis, he met his wife, Juanita, and after only a short courtship, married. Together they had two daughters, Angela and Karen. After graduating from Memphis State University, he worked for both Munsingwear and Western Auto.

Jim and Juanita, together with their two daughters, lived in Tennessee, North Carolina, Kansas, and Missouri. In 1998, he retired from Western Auto as their Vice President of Operations and moved with his wife to Northwest Arkansas where they lived on Beaver Lake until just two years ago again then relocating back to Salina, KS, to be surrounded by loved ones until the end.

The loss is tremendous as he will be remembered for his charisma, intelligence, humor, and acerbic wit. He was a lover of music, poetry, literature, and history.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Morgan Lowery, having just recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. He is also survived by his youngest daughter, Karen Kay Griffith and her husband, Scott Douglas Griffith, also of Salina, KS. His eldest daughter, Angela Renee Lowery, and her husband, Phillip Brian Rowe, live in Georgia.

Jim was also blessed to have five beautiful grandchildren that loved him immensely growing up on the lake with their grandparents from infancy until adulthood spending summers and holidays surrounded by family. His grandchildren include James Lowery Tanuis of Kansas City, Thea Kathryn Beebe of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as well as Zachary Thomas Griffith, Maysin Christine Gonzalez, and Connor James Griffith all of Salina, KS. With all of their respected spouses (Alyssa, Wyatt, Adam, and Rylee), Jim was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Maddox James Tanuis and Riggs Scott Griffith.

His youngest sister, Sharon, still resides in Oklahoma City, OK, with her husband.

Per his wishes, no memorial services are to be held as “everyone that loves me is already around me.”

James Dean Patry, 82, of Salina, KS, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1942, in Hillsboro, KS, to Edmund and Mary (Wegerer) Patry.

James was an Agriculture Education teacher and FFA Advisor at Wilson High School for 32 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kansas Tractor Club. He enjoyed pastimes of refurbishing old tractors, creating photo albums, collecting coins and collectible toy tractors, and doing jigsaw puzzles. In addition to his students and family, he left a lasting legacy by playing an instrumental role in building the Wilson Spray Park.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Patry (Donna) and Neal Patry (Kelly); daughters, Carrie Piepho (Tracy) and Teresa Schulze (Brandon); grandchildren, Thomas Patry (Chrissie), Bryant Patry (Jessica), Skylar Piepho, Noah Patry, Peyton Piepho, Karley Kramer, and Kadon Schulze; great-grandchildren, Felix Black, Cooper Patry, and one on the way; brother, Lawrence Patry; sisters, Margaret Barkman, Cecelia Sanchez, Betty Plante, Barbara Meirowsky, Marian Lindshield, and Annette Cutcher; and long-time family friend, Frank Janousek.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia (Jones) Patry; and his parents.

Victor David Camese, 62, of Salina, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at Kenwood View Nursing Center. &nbsp;He was born on November 30, 1962, in Fort Riley, Kansas to Christina B. Hester. &nbsp; Victor attended Junction City Senior High School and worked for many years at Footlocker.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Christina Beauford; son, Calvin Camese; sister, Angela Camese; and grandparents Calvin and Lorene Mason.&nbsp;

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Breahna Camese, of Salina, Alexis Camese, of Wichita, and Bacari Camese, of Salina; step-father, Robert Beauford; siblings, Cliff Townsend, of Manhattan, Tonya Archie (Claude), of Chicago, and Kimberlie Jones (Reba), of Salina; seven grandchildren; and many cousins from the surrounding area.

Victor David Camese

On October 7, 2025, Marilyn (Truan) Riedel went to heaven. Mom was a farm girl who grew up south of Gorham, KS and married John M Riedel Jr a couple months after graduating from high school. Dad was a farm boy from the next town over in Walker, KS. Their early years were spent in Hays, KS until moving to Salina, KS in 1981. Mom was an active member of the Salina community until moving to Overland Park, KS shortly after dad's passing in 2001. We couldn't begin to put mom's beautiful life into words so we ask those that knew mom to reminisce on happy memories spent with her.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s in Walker, KS on Friday, 14 November 2025 at 10:30am. Mass will be followed by interment at St. Ann’s cemetery in Walker. Friends and family are invited to lunch following the interment at the Walker school hall.

Marilyn is survived by her three children - Amy Riedel of Overland Park, J.L. Riedel and his wife Jayme of Salina, and Ann Ewy of Lenexa; four grandchildren - Jack, John, Makenzie, and JJ; her brother Rick Truan of Gorham, KS and sister Jerilyn Esfeld of Great Bend, KS. Marilyn was proceeded in death by her husband John and her sister Jacquelyn Truan.

Marilyn’s children would like to thank everyone for their support and friendship through their loss.

Mom was a farm girl who grew up south of Gorham, KS and married John M Riedel Jr a couple months after graduating from high school. Dad was a farm boy from the next town over in Walker, KS. Their early years were spent in Hays, KS until moving to Salina, KS in 1981. Mom was an active member of the Salina community until moving to Overland Park, KS shortly after dad's passing in 2001. Joseph “Joe” Evilsizer, 89, of Salina, passed away peacefully at Bethany Home in Lindsborg on October 19, 2025.

Joe was born on August 20, 1936, in Nashville, Illinois, to John and Elizabeth (Gregory) Evilsizer. In high school, Joe played basketball and was on the track team. While in school, he worked a milk route, set pins by hand at the bowling alley, and helped on a milk farm.

Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, dedicating many years of his life to military service. He served honorably in both Korea and Vietnam, where he demonstrated great strength and devotion. His time in the service gave him the opportunity to travel, make lifelong friends, and see the world. Joe retired after 20 years in the Army and went on to drive for Tony’s Pizza as a short-haul truck driver, where he spent 15 years before retiring from the company.

Joe enjoyed fishing, camping, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Ursula (Tollkuehn); and his son, Johnny Lee.

Joe is survived by his sons, Winfred of Louisiana and Rick (Louann) of Texas; his daughter, Sandra of Salina; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, 2020 E. Iron St., Salina, KS.

Georgianna “Sissy” Mayor, 69, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, surrounded by her MCDS family at her home.

Sissy was born on February 19, 1956, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Robert E. and Beatrice (Beard) Mayor.

Through McPherson Industries, Sissy worked for several years on the production line at FEMCO, sorting and packaging nuts and bolts.

She had a deep love of music, especially the songs of Elvis Presley and Loretta Lynn. Sissy enjoyed her morning coffee, her Diet Dr. Pepper, and her favorite hamburger from JD’s Kwik Burger. Her favorite color was blue, and she delighted in collecting trinkets, wearing all kinds of necklaces, and working puzzles.

Known for being a little bossy at times, but often right, Sissy had a spirited personality and a heart full of kindness. She loved spending time in the greenhouse and tending to the garden. Trips to the casino were among her favorite outings, and she often returned home a winner. Outgoing and genuine, Sissy was a caring soul who wanted the very best for everyone around her.
