Ronald W. Quillin was born August 18, 1940, in Osborne, Kansas, the first of three children to Wayne and Marie Quillin.&nbsp; He died February 3, 2023, at Mitchell County Health Care Systems in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 82 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.&nbsp;

Ron graduated from Osborne High School, first attending Ft. Hays State and then Kansas State University.&nbsp; 

It was in Manhattan where he met his future wife, Consuelo (Connie) Saenz.&nbsp; They were married in 1966 with there being some good-natured disagreement as to whether that occurred in El Paso, Texas, on January 18th&nbsp;as told by Ron or Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, in the bride’s family church on January 23rd&nbsp;as preferred by Connie.&nbsp; None-the-less, they celebrated 57 years together and to that union were born two daughters, Marie and Jo Ann.&nbsp;

Ron ultimately earned a bachelor of science degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City where he worked several years as an insurance adjuster.&nbsp; 

The young family moved to Beloit in the early 1970s where Ron managed Peoples Lumber Yard in Beloit and later operated his own small business, “Mitre Box.”&nbsp; &nbsp;Known widely as a skilled woodworker, Ron not only built customized cabinetry but also shared his knowledge and love for the craft by teaching evening courses in the 1980s at NCK Technical College.&nbsp; 

Community-minded, Ron was active in Beloit Rotary and never shy about volunteering his services when repairs were needed at St. John’s Catholic Church.&nbsp;&nbsp; He further enjoyed morning coffee, playing golf, and going fishing with his friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ron is survived by his wife Connie of Beloit; daughters Marie (Al) Duhon of Lyons, and Jo Ann (Craig) Tomson of Wichita; grandsons Trent Jackson of Salina and Zayden Tomson of Wichita; and sisters Connie (John) Cyr of Beloit, and Dawna Quillin of Idaho Springs, Colorado.&nbsp;

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Alma Marie (Saunders) Quillin.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ilene Joan Bunger was born on October 12, 1937 in Manhattan Ks, daughter of William and Lucille Nauerth. &nbsp;She passed away on February 2, 2023 at 85 years of age. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

She grew up on the family farm, graduating from Manhattan High School and attending Kansas State University. &nbsp;While attending Kansas State, she met her future husband, William "Bill" Bunger. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

Bill and Ilene were married April 16, 1963 in Manhattan. &nbsp;They moved to Ellsworth Air Force Base, near Rapid City, South Dakota in the summer of 1963. &nbsp;In November of 1966 they moved to Beloit, Ks and started their career as a farming family. &nbsp;Three children were born to this union.

She was a mother and farm wife. &nbsp;She was active in 4-H and Young Farmers of America.

She worked at Klema's and volunteered at the Economy Shop of the Mitchell County Hospital Auxiliary. &nbsp;She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden. &nbsp;She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, wheat weaving and collecting bells. &nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Lucille Nauerth, uncle Bud (Helen) Conkwright, uncle Jim (Faye) Conkwright, uncle Ken (Edna) Conkwright, Dean Conkwright, Chloe Bunger, daughter of Brandon and Jami.&nbsp; &nbsp;

She is survived by her husband Bill, sons David (Jody) Bunger of Hays, KS, and Rob (Kim) Bunger of Whitewater, MO, daughter Annie White of Carthage, MO; grandchildren Melissa (Danny) Spencer, Brandon (Jami) Bunger, Keith Bunger, Cory Bunger, Cody Bunger, Colby Bunger, Jacklyn White; great-grandchildren Kaiden, Allie, Kaleb, Kyler, Connor, Logan, Nolan; cousins Kay (Bruce) Young and family, Stan (Vicki) Conkwright, Dale (Linda) Conkwright and family, Pat Conkwright and family, Alvena (Leonard) Wilgers and family; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 .m. Tuesday, February 7 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home.

William “Bill” Dennis Walker&nbsp;was born on October 9,1943 in Carneiro, Kansas to Ray C. Walker Sr. and Evelyn M. (Sheridan) Walker. He was blessed with thirteen siblings. He died on February 3, 2023, in Lindsborg, Kansas with his family at his side.&nbsp; 

Bill was a graduate of Brookville High School and Kansas Wesleyan University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Russell, Kansas.

In his early years Bill worked for Northern Natural Gas Company, Walker Hardware, and the Civil Corps of Engineers. 

Bill was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his friends and family. He enjoyed restoring antique furniture and spent many years raising hogs. He could fix anything as long as someone could hold the flashlight still. He often had a good “dad” joke to tell. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and will have the best seat to watch the Super Bowl this year. Friends and family are welcome to wear their Chiefs gear to the service in honor of Bill.

Bill married Carol (Rathbun) Walker on February 2, 1962. She survives in the home with their faithful dog, Daisy.&nbsp; Bill is survived by his children Daymon (Lisa) Walker of Salina, Cassie (Rob) Gorman of Lindsborg, Carla (Mark) Kerns of Lindsborg, and Wade (Michelle) Walker of Solomon. He loved and adored his seven grandchildren, Megan Croomes (Cutler), Kristopher Gorman (Haley), Taylor Walker (Jaycelyn), Bayleigh Walker (Marissa), Tate Walker (Lexi), Mason Kerns (Daisy), and Mickalee Kerns; and nine great-grandchildren Kylar, Ben, Paisley, Mary Alice, Addison, Wyatt, Isla, Maggie, and Ridley.&nbsp;&nbsp; Other survivors include a brother, Duane (Jo) Walker of Canton, sisters Helen Pflughoeft, Dixie Walker, Ernestine (Bob) Allen, and Geri (Monte) Elam, all of Salina, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Ray (Joyce), Frank, Bob (Marty), Don (Rachel), Sherry Walker, Virginia Vanek (Cirel), Ramona Wagner, Berniece Zimmerman (Claude); and great-grandson Corbin Walker.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 10, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Brookville United Methodist Church in Brookville, with burial in Carneiro Cemetery.

Henry "Hank" Ashton&nbsp;was born on June 10, 1948, in Salina, Kansas, where he lived all his life before passing away February 4, 2023. &nbsp;

Hank is survived by his son, Shane Ashton (Stephanie) of Albuquerque, NM, and his daughter Kim Ashton ( Reace Williams) of Bradenton, Florida.&nbsp; He is also survived by his 16-year-old four-legged, furry kid, Edi, who brought Hank much joy after his wife of 38 years, Linda Ashton, passed. In fact, we are all pretty sure Linda adopted Edi so that Hank would have a little companion after her death.&nbsp;&nbsp; Hank is also survived by his sisters Patricia Painter and Phyllis Harper.

Hank worked for the Salina Coffee House (later renamed Sunflower Restaurant Supply) for almost 40 years before retiring in 2011, and he later worked part time for the city of Salina.&nbsp; 

Hank loved all things outside and sports-related, and he especially loved riding his bicycle all over Salina.&nbsp; Hank was a coach to multiple young boys’ and girls’ baseball, softball and basketball teams and enjoyed helping inspire young athletes to achieve success.&nbsp; Hank also enjoyed sitting on his front porch “assuming the position” in his favorite chair watching the happenings on his old street “Winn Road,” where he was best known for kidding with neighbors who were also some of his dearest friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday February 9th at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

SALINA -&nbsp;Sally J. Thorp, 83, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023.&nbsp; She was born on January 15, 1940 in Salina to Raymond and Lillian (Lohman) Cryderman.

Sally was a registered nurse working at Asbury Hospital and then Salina Regional Health Center for 40 years.&nbsp; 

On December 31, 1961 she was united in marriage to James Thorp. &nbsp;

She enjoyed biking, tending her garden, and loved the outdoors.&nbsp; Spending time with her family was important to Sally, and she was always ready for a game of cards.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Keith Cryderman; and grandson Travis Dolan.

Sally is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim Thorp of Salina; daughters Terri Dolan (Jim) of Basehor, KS, Traci Pfeifer (Doug) of Salina, and Pam Renshaw (Chuck) of Salina; sister Pat Heinze of Kingman, AZ; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 with a memorial service beginning at 1:30 p.m. all at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Inurnment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Salina.

Randall Paul Tolbert, 69, of Salina, peacefully with his family and best four-legged buddy, Presley by his side, passed away, Saturday, February 4th, 2023.

Randy was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 26, 1953, a son of Ollie Lorene (Kerns) and Melvin Franklin Tolbert.

On June 27, 1981, Randy married Jackie Harriman in Emporia, Kansas.

Randy loved fishing, going to the casino, Salina Liberty Football, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and every sports team any of his grandchildren were a part of and cheered for every school they attended. He enjoyed attending all of their sporting events, music programs, and plays. He also had a passion for woodworking.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Jackie Tolbert of the home; three daughters, Jennifer Main (Dan), of Salina, Kansas, Angela Stauffer (Brian), of Salina, Kansas, Ashley Hanson, (Matt) of Salina, Kansas; son Brent Tolbert (Alicia), of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren Alec (Brianna), Courtney (Brooks), Kiley, Drew, Austin, Caden, Reagan; great-granddaughters Mila, Braelynn; and his buddy Presley the Yorkie-Poo.

Randy is also survived by his sister Joni Beck of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Tolbert.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10th at Great Life Golf and Fitness, 1800 S. Marymount Rd, Salina, Kansas.

Theora L. Phelps, 92, of Brookville, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Pinnacle Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salina.

Theora was born on June 2, 1931 in Hunter, KS to the late Jerry E. and Grace G. (Bolte) Phelps. 

She graduated from Brookville High School and then from Marymount College.

She was united in marriage to Dallas B. Phelps on June 3, 1951. 

He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2018.

Theora began teaching in 1950 at Carneiro Grade School and taught there for fiw years before starting their family. She continued to substitute and get college hours while raising the boys. After Aaron was born she received her teaching degree in 1979 from Marymount College and began teaching in Salina, retiring from USD 305 in 1993.

She was also very active in her communities, volunteering for the Brookville United Methodist Church, Spring Creek Extension Unit, serving as Treasurer of the Spring Creek Township, volunteering for the SRS Commodities, Brookville Senior Citizens Groups and she enjoyed bowling with the Brookville Senior Citizens Group.

Theora enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, attending the Brookville United Methodist Church and visiting the Colorado Mountains, Branson, MO and the beautiful hills and pastures of Saline, Lincoln and Ellsworth counties.

Theora is survived by sons Aaron (Darla) Phelps of Brookville, Andy Phelps of Dorrance, KS; grandson Tel Phelps and granddaughter Kiva (Matt) Jacobs both of Brookville; great-grandchildren Kaislee and Caige Jacobs, along with one on the way.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4- 6 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel, Salina. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Brookville United Methodist Church, Brookville. Interment will follow in the Brookville Cemetery.

Henry "Hank" Mason Sellers, son of W D Sellers and Mildred L. (Jenkins) Sellers was born on October 9, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX.&nbsp; He died peacefully at home on January 31, 2023, at the age of 77. Henry lived his early life in Texas until his family moved to Kiowa, KS.&nbsp; He was a graduate of the Class of 1964 Hays High School. On November 18, 1964 he was united in marriage to Patricia Pierce at Hays, Kansas.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children: Margaret, Christine and Katherine.&nbsp; He was a member of the Episcopal Church. Hank worked as a guidance counselor at St. Francis' Boys Home in Ellsworth, KS.&nbsp; He worked in the Kansas oilfields and as a truck driver, then moved to off-shore oil explorations in the Indian Ocean/South China Sea, Southeast Asia &amp; The Norwegian Sea, Norway in his younger years while supporting his family.&nbsp; Hank worked on the Sellers Cattle Ranch for several years managing and involving the family with gardening &amp; geese wrangling. Then he worked at Briggs Auto Group in Manhattan, KS for 12 years. Afterward, he had various sales positions until he began a new venture as safety manager in the shale play oil exploration in the Pennsylvania area. Those who preceded him in death are his parents, Dub &amp; Mildred Sellers, his sister Patsy Kanak, two great-granddaughters Meredith and Macie Sellens, his wife of 36 years Patricia Pierce and other remembered family members. Fred Jay Moser, 73, Jewell, Kansas, passed away Feb 2, 2023 at his home with his wife, Elaine at his side. Fred was born on to Lawrence and Marjorie (Adkins) Moser. 

Fred was the eldest of four sons: Leroy, Nelson, and Curtis.&nbsp; 

Fred enlisted in the Navy during his senior year and spent three years in San Diego, Ca, and one year in Thailand in the Seabees. He was honorably&nbsp;discharged in 1972.

Fred was an over-the-road truck driver for several companies, the last was Network Transportation, Phoenix, Az.&nbsp; This is where Fred met the love of his life, Elaine Leiby.&nbsp; They enjoyed 32 happy years together.

Fred enjoyed riding his Harley with his brothers and friends, and loved fishing and hunting.

Fred loved being with his family and grandkids.&nbsp; Fred had many talents. He was a life member of Jewell County Memorial Post # 7830 VFW.

It was Fred’s wishes to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Melby Mortuary in Mankato, Kansas with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating.

Miriam Hershberger, 70, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away from cancer on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson. She was born August 28, 1952 in Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Mark E. and Mary (Mast) Hershberger. At four months of age, Miriam contracted polio. Miriam was a babysitter and also a homemaker. She was a member of the Amish Church in Hutchinson. McPherson Donald E. Bland, Sr., 93, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Lakewood, CO, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at McPherson Health &amp; Rehab.

Don was a retired electrician and building inspector, owning and operating Bland Electric.&nbsp;

Don was born on October 26, 1929, in Dillon, KS, the son of Walter Marion Shugart, Sr. and Cora Anna (Hunt) Shugart. Don spent his childhood in western Kansas with his foster parents Clifford and Ethel Bland and their family. 

Later he married his high school sweetheart, Katherine Berniece Tustin on February 20, 1951 in Oakley, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children, Donald, Jr., Robert, and Jolynn “Jody.”&nbsp; 

Berniece preceded Don in death on February 19, 2007.

Don was a United States Navy veteran, serving during WW II and the Korean War.

He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson.

Survivors include three children, Don Bland, Jr. (Barbara) of McPherson, KS, Rob Bland (Karen) of Northglenn, CO, and Jolynn “Jody” Fitzmorris (Jim) of Castle Rock, CO; ten grandchildren, Laurie Willison (Lynn), Michelle Sauerwein (Josh), Stephanie Benson (Todd), Corrie Hagan (Michael), Kristi Neville (Patrick), Valerie Hernandez (Mark), Heather Singhisen (Cameron), Joshua Fitzmorris (Jensine), Erica Diamond (Colby), and Mitchell Fitzmorris (Elizabeth); 21 great-grandchildren; and many more extended family and friends.&nbsp;

Leland’s life began on October 14, 1931, in Goessel.&nbsp; He is the son of Art and Linda (Buller) Heidebrecht.&nbsp;

 Leland is a 1949 graduate of Newton High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korea War, stationed in Germany.&nbsp; 

He was united in marriage to Kay Swan on September 13, 1958, in Wichita and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until her death in 2015.&nbsp; 

Leland was the owner of Quality Market in Marion for many years.&nbsp; He also managed Harris Bail Bonds, and Auto Mart in Marion with his friend Gerry Harris. Leland also worked for the funeral home in Marion for several years, helping to care for community families in their time of need.&nbsp; 

Leland was active in the Kiwanis Club in Marion, and he served on the zoning board for the City of Marion.&nbsp; Leland served on the Marion Lake Board and ran the fishing derby at the reservoir for many years.&nbsp; 

He is survived by his sons Scott (Rolana) Heidebrecht of Marion, and Dale (Christine) Heidebrecht of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren Tyson (Jessica) Heidebrecht of Omaha, Justin (Nikki) Heidebrecht of Topeka, Taylor (Erika) Heidebrecht of Emporia, Peyton (Courtney Haines) Heidebrecht of Hillsboro, and Evann Heidebrecht of Marion; great-grandchildren Brendon, Emery, Gunner and Kayda Heidebrecht, and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; 

Leland passed away on Saturday February 4, 2023, at Peabody Health and Rehab.&nbsp; 

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Orville Heidebrecht, and sister Sadie Price.&nbsp; 

His family will gather with friends on Monday February 6, 2023, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion.&nbsp; Leland’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Jeremiah Lange.&nbsp; He will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery with military honors.&nbsp;

Rita Marie Larsen, age 98, of Concordia, left this earthly life on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kansas, surrounded by her family.&nbsp; &nbsp;

She was born on February 12, 1924 at home on the farm in Center Township to Martin and Mary (Grimm)Flynn.

She was a 1941 graduate of Aurora Catholic High School, Aurora, Kansas.&nbsp; She received her RN degree in nursing from the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Rita went on to work as a RN at the new hospital in La Crosse, Kansas and was instrumental in helping it get its start.&nbsp; She later attended Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. Rita then worked for Dr. Kosar in Concordia who was a practicing Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.

She married Glenn H. Larsen on June 11, 1950 at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Aurora, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union one child, Frederick, was born.&nbsp; 

Glenn preceded her in death on September 3, 2011.

Rita was a past member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jamestown until its closing.&nbsp;While at St. Mary’s, Rita was a church organist, served on the Altar Society, and taught religious education for many years.&nbsp; She became a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Concordia until her passing.&nbsp; 

Rita was also involved in the community with the local 4-H, and Buffalo Valley EHU in her earlier years.

She truly enjoyed playing the piano and organ and sharing her love of music by teaching her family music lessons through the years.&nbsp; In later years she enjoyed making memorable scrapbooks filled with family history and pictures for her family members to cherish forever.&nbsp; Most of all she loved spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Rita is survived by her son Fred Larsen (Phyllis), Concordia, KS; four grandchildren, Michelle Widen (Jack), Concordia, KS; Christina Bausch (Daniel), Hoyt, KS: Bryan Larsen (Lacy), Jamestown, KS; Jill Wiseman (Lucas), Glen Elder, KS; ten great-grandchildren, Christian, Anna, Deacon Widen; Darren, Alaina, Keaton Bausch; Hunter, Kendall Larsen; Brooklyn, Easton Wiseman; two brothers-in-law, Stanley McMillan, Concordia, KS; Vincent Link,&nbsp;Aurora, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded by her husband Glenn, parents Martin and Mary, and sister Martina Link.

Visitation will be held&nbsp;from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023&nbsp;at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

A rosary service will be held&nbsp;on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m., February 9, 2023 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; Family will receive friends after the Rosary Service in the Chapel.

Larsen on June 11, 1950 at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Aurora, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union one child, Frederick, was born.&nbsp; Glenn preceded her in death on September 3, 2011.Rita was a past member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jamestown until its closing.&nbsp;While at St. Mary’s, Rita was a church organist, served on the Altar Society, and taught religious education for many years.&nbsp; She became a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Concordia until her passing.&nbsp; Rita was also involved in the community with the local 4-H, and Buffalo Valley EHU in her earlier years.She truly enjoyed playing the piano and organ and sharing her love of music by teaching her family music lessons through the years.&nbsp; In later years she enjoyed making memorable scrapbooks filled with family history and pictures for her family members to cherish forever.&nbsp; Most of all she loved spending time with her beloved family and friends.Rita is survived by her son Fred Larsen (Phyllis), Concordia, KS; four grandchildren, Michelle Widen (Jack), Concordia, KS; Christina Bausch (Daniel), Hoyt, KS: Bryan Larsen (Lacy), Jamestown, KS; Jill Wiseman (Lucas), Glen Elder, KS; ten great-grandchildren, Christian, Anna, Deacon Widen; Darren, Alaina, Keaton Bausch; Hunter, Kendall Larsen; Brooklyn, Easton Wiseman; two brothers-in-law, Stanley McMillan, Concordia, KS; Vincent Link,&nbsp;Aurora, KS; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.She was preceded by her husband Glenn, parents Martin and Mary, and sister Martina Link.Visitation will be held&nbsp;from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023&nbsp;at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.A rosary service will be held&nbsp;on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m., February 9, 2023 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; Family will receive friends after the Rosary Service in the Chapel.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held&nbsp;at 10:00 a.m., February, 10, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas with Fr. Donald E. Cain, 96, of Salina, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center.&nbsp; He was born on a farm on October 28, 1926, in Longford, KS, the son of Ben and Edna (Snowden) Cain.&nbsp; &nbsp;

He was married to Betty Lou Repstine on March 26, 1948 at St John’s Lutheran Church, Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union was born one son, Martin Douglas.&nbsp;

Donald graduated from Salina High School in 1945, then attended Oklahoma University on a golf scholarship and Kansas Wesleyan.

Donald served in the United States Air Force From October 27, 1945 through August 22, 1947, serving as a Sgt. assigned to duty with Classification and Assignment Section Smoky Hill Army Air Field, Salina.

In 1949, Donald was employed by Mason Investment Company, for 15 years as a loan officer and then retired in Oct. 1988 from the First National Bank and Trust Company (Sunflower), after 25 years as Vice President of the Consumer Loan Department.

Donald was an avid golfer, fisherman and small game hunter.

He was a past member of Northview Country Club in Ellis, the Salina Municipal Golf Course and the Great Life Golf Course (ELKS) and was Past President of the Pioneer Lake Association.

He was a life member of the ELKS, KWU – W - Clan and the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Edna Cain, his wife Betty Lou, his son Martin, a grandson; Douglas, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his daughter-in-law Darla Cain-Karst and her husband Sam of Bennington; a grandson, Mark and his wife Sarah, great-grandchildren Leah and Andrew, all of Hays, Kansas.
