Harold "Hal" Francis Wright, 75, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 9:25 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. Harold "Hal" was born in Lawrence, Kansas on January 14, 1948, a son of Harold Ewing and Elizabeth (Fulton) Wright. Harold attended Dwight grade school and graduated from Dwight Rural High School, Dwight, Kansas in 1966. He then attended McPherson College where he graduated with a bachelor degree in history. Hal was united in marriage to Lynn K. VanWickler on June 28, 1970 in Hicksville, New York; they divorced in 1989. Through the years Hal worked for CertainTeed Machinery and eventually started his own businesses, Plastics Extrusion Machinery, Chrome Wright and Chrome Tek. Hal grew up in the Presbyterian faith. Hal enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, auctions, collecting antiques, enjoyed his morning breakfast group at Galva Café and spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by his longtime companion Phyllis Armstrong, of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings, Stewart Wright, of McPherson, Kansas, James Wright and his wife Susan, of Roswell, Georgia and Carol Ingermanson and her husband Daryl, of McPherson, Kansas. He is also survived by nieces, Sarah May(Justin), Tess Ingermanson, Rachel Wright, Emily Wright; his cousins, Todd and Becky Goss, Bob and Tami Campbell and Cliff and Tracie White and their children. Harold was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, Kansas with Brian Olson officiating. Letha Yarrow was born August 10, 1922, to Frank and Mary E (Fowles) Yarrow. 

Letha and family were members of the Uniondale Baptist church where she was baptized at the age of 10. 

She and her siblings, Julia Yarrow and Marvin Yarrow, attended Mount Vernon rural school for their elementary years in southern Clay County. She graduated from Clay Center Community High School in the class of 1940. She went on to Brown Mackie College in Salina and graduated in 1941. 

She came back to work at the Clay County Welfare office as a typist.

On July 15, 1942, Letha married Clarence (Bud) Woodhams in Baltimore, Md. where they lived for a year. In 1943, Bud joined the Navy and after he was shipped out to the South Pacific, she moved to Santa Monica and worked for the King Jewelry Company as the bookkeeper and cashier. She lived with her cousin Ruth Yarrow. There she joined the Trinity Baptist church and became an active member.

In 1946, following WWII she and Bud moved back to Kansas and started farming in the Lady Smith community. At this time, they had two dear sweet children: Mary Jo, born in 1947 and Michael James, born in 1952. They joined the Bethany Chapel Wesleyan Church in rural Clay County, built a new house and in her words, “Life was good!”

In 1964, the family went through a tragic time with the car accident that took the lives of four members of the family, including her husband, Bud.&nbsp; Her nephew, Carroll Ray Adams, came to live with Letha, Mary Jo and Mike. Letha went to work at C&amp;W Rural Electric from 1965-1968.&nbsp; In 1966, tragedy struck again as son, Michael, was killed on July 21, in a hunting accident. In the fall of ’66, nephews helped move her house and her to 1313 Dexter in Clay Center. In 1968 she went to Forrest Home Christian Camp in California to work at the camp office for the summer.

On June 20, 1969, Letha married Orville Lloyd at Bethany Chapel Wesleyan Church and they lived in his country home at the farm until they moved to Clay Center in 1973. During that time, they joined the Clay Center Baptist Church. Letha welcomed his family as her own and joined both their families into one big family. They both loved to travel together and went to many places including Hawaii, Europe, Canada, South Pacific, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Holy Land and Mediterranean and their last trip was to China.

In spring of 1999, Letha and Orville moved to Presbyterian Manor and lived in an independent living apartment. Orville passed away in 2002 and Letha continued to live there until she moved into the Manor in July of 2018 where she was active and loved by all.

She was involved in many church activities as well as the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Extension Homemakers.

In addition to her husbands Letha is preceded in death by her parents, son Michael James Woodhams and sister Julia (Yarrow) Adams.

She was loved by so many and leaves behind:

Margaret Edson was born on June 5, 1937 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, the daughter of Isaac and Margery Janes. She died on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 85.

She grew up in Newfoundland as one of 14 children. She came to America at the age of 18, and was granted citizenship in 1963.

Margaret was united in marriage with Marvin Edson, and they were privileged to spend 53 years of marriage together until his death in 2008. They raised their family in Lincoln, Nebraska and enjoyed traveling together. 

She served in the Nebraska legislation for many years in the bill room, and also worked in the school cafeteria. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, and was able to sew many dresses over the years for Operation Christmas Child.

Her greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, David and Amy. She loved spending time with them and following their activities throughout the years. Her two dogs, Buddy and Molly were also very special to her.

In addition to her husband, Marvin, she was preceded in death by her parents, and 10 siblings.

Margaret is survived by her children, Debbie and her husband Dennis Lutgen of Beloit, Cindy Edson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Tammy and her husband Gary Godkin of Lincoln; four siblings, Bessie, Barb, Lloyd, and Gary, all of Newfoundland; and her special grandchildren, David and wife Cara, and Amy.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church. Family burial services will take place at a later date in Lincoln, Nebraska. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church.

Alton “Ray” Odle’s life began on January 27, 1941, in Mission, Texas. He is the son of Albert and Pauline (Moody) Odle. 

Ray graduated from high school in Blytheville, Arkansas and joined the United States Army. In the service, Ray was a mechanic until his retirement, and then worked as a mechanic in the Civil Service through Fort Riley, Kansas. 

Ray married Hermine Gotzel, and together they had four children. He later married Hoda Ahmed. 

Ray could always be found hard at work, but in his free time, he loved gardening, hunting, and fishing. Ray loved animals, especially his dog LuLu.

Ray is survived by his wife Hoda Odle, children Iwonne (Ed) Schardein, Barbara Gott, Michael (Kathy) Odle, Debora Douthit, grandchildren Jordan Gott, Megan Gott, Royce Harold, Kenneth Harold, Kaitlyn Brannon, Brandon Douthit, Chelsea Villanueva, and eight great-grandchildren.

&nbsp;Ray, at the age of 81, passed away on January 1, 2023, at his home in Herington, Kansas. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Pauline, daughter Tammy Odle, grandchild Casey Schardein, and one great-grandchild. 

Graveside service for Ray will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Woodbine Cemetery.  Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, is serving the family.

Lamonia “Mona” F. Lammers Bauer of Abilene, KS passed away March 8th, 2023 in Wichita, KS at the age of 75. She was born in Hopkins, MO on January 11th, 1948 to Ralph Lammers and Alberta Hughes Steeby Lammers. 

In 1966 she graduated high school from Buchanan County R-IV High School in De Kalb, Mo. She then attended Job Corps where she graduated in 1968 with nurses' training. 

On July 22nd, 1972 she married Donald E. Bauer at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, KS. 

Many knew her as a custodian at both Abilene High School and Abilene Middle School until she retired in March of 2019. 

She is survived by her children: Ralph Bauer of Abilene, KS, Barbara Bauer of Abilene, KS, and Carrie Kautz (Ben) of Raytown, MO. Grandchildren: Kiersten Bauer of Abilene, KS, and Patrick Kautz of Raytown, MO. Siblings: Jovita Evans of St. Joseph, MO, Alfreda Lammers of St. Joseph, MO, and Otis George Steeby (Ellen) of Valley Falls, KS. Aunts: Velma Day (Johnnie) of Kansas City, MO and Phyllis Hughes of Overland Park, KS. In-laws: Arlan Bauer (Deb) of Wichita, KS, Darrell Bauer (Sara) of Hiawatha, Ks, Darlene Covert of Hiawatha, KS, Carol Bauer of Sabetha, KS, and Leona Bauer of Buffalo, KS. She also has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On July 22nd, 1972 she married Donald E. Bauer at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, KS. Many knew her as a custodian at both Abilene High School and Abilene Middle School until she retired in March of 2019. She is survived by her children: Ralph Bauer of Abilene, KS, Barbara Bauer of Abilene, KS, and Carrie Kautz (Ben) of Raytown, MO. Grandchildren: Kiersten Bauer of Abilene, KS, and Patrick Kautz of Raytown, MO. Keith Leon Olson, 79, Topeka, KS entered God’s kingdom after a short 
illness on March 12, 2023. He was born August 31, 1943, to Dorothy and 
Chester Olson in Salina, KS. He is survived by his wife, Dea; 
daughter, Cami Walker (Greg); son, Tyler Olson (Tammy); brother, Terrell
 (Karen); and grandchildren, Mena Walker, Carter, Brooklyn and Sawyer 
Olson. A 1961 graduate of Salina High School, Keith went on to
 Kansas State University where he majored in accounting and business and
 met the love of his life, Dea, as well as many lifelong friends. He was
 a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Following 
graduation in 1965, Keith and Dea Brown married and moved to the Kansas 
City area where he worked as an accountant for Deloitte Haskins &amp; 
Sells. After a few years, Keith and his young family moved to Topeka 
where he served faithfully and tirelessly as a CPA and partner at Mize 
CPAs Inc., a full-service accounting and tax firm, for 46 years. 
 Keith was a devoted Kansas State athletics fan and booster, avidly 
attending football and basketball games, and other sporting events in 
his signature royal purple in either Manhattan, KS or on the road, 
wherever the Cats needed him most. He also enjoyed travel, and spending 
time outdoors taking care of his home. Keith’s infectious 
personality, generosity and focus endeared him to many, enabling him to 
make friends in any situation. He will be missed dearly by his friends 
and family. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, March
 18th at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka,

SanJuana "Sandy" Johnson, 68 of Bonner Springs, KS passed away Friday, 
March 10, 2023, at her home. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm and the

Alden - Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS 
Sandy was born on November 7, 1954, in Salina, Kansas. In High School,&nbsp; she ran the Americanization Center and played pool a lot. She became 
quite good. She worked at Tony’s Pizza in Salina. In 1985, the family 
moved to Wichita, KS (10 years) and she worked at T.J. Max. She 
continued to work at a T.J. Max in Overland Park when they moved to 
Shawnee, KS. She worked at Park Lanes Bowling Alley. She ran a picture
 framing business in Overland Park, KS. 
Sandy and Mark were on a bowling league when the boys were young. She 
was an avid cross-stitcher. Sandy was always up for a family game of 
basketball, tennis, volleyball or walleyball. She liked to make people 
happy. She was a great conversationalist, friendly with anyone. She 
was a great cook, a loving and beloved wife and mom. She enjoyed 
playing board games with friends and family-Peg Out, Poker. She was all
 about her family. 
She was preceded in death by her brother Darrell Montoy in 1971 and her parents Ismael in 2008 and Alberta in 2006. 
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mark Johnson; 2 sons - Jon 
Johnson (Leigh Ann) of Lansing, KS and Bret Johnson (Pamela) of Lenexa, 
KS; 4 sisters - Claudia Moreno of Salina, KS, Bernadette Lee of Yuba

She was an active member and middle school leader at Pathway Church. Lilly was a lifelong soccer player with WUFC. A 2022 graduate of Maize High School, she was studying Bakery Science at Kansas State University and was heavily involved in campus activities and ministries. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. 

Preceded in death by her grandfather, Dr. Coleman Scott.

Nancy Louise Kruckenberg Pieschl, 79, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born on November 28, 1943, to Hugh and Elaine (McPherson) Armstrong and raised in Kansas. 

On December 10, 1961, she wed Marlin D. Kruckenberg. The two had three daughters: Tanya Rader, Marla McElderry, and Shana Reed, and were married for 28 years until Marlin died of ALS in 1990. 

She spent most of her career at Southeast of Saline Jr./Sr. High School and had a deep love for her Trojan family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Pieschl; daughters Tanya (Mark) Rader, Marla (Kerry) McElderry, and Shana (Dave) Reed; grandchildren Brady (Kristen) Srna, Corey (Lindsay) Srna, Walker (McKenzie) Srna, Saida Srna, Brooklyn (Kyler) Sager, Aspen McElderry, Amanda (Dalton) Bloch, and Bria Reed; great-grandchildren Jackie, Pyper, Maddox, Hadley, Graham, Maisyn, Parker, and Halston; and several stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and stepgreat-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Marlin D. Kruckenberg and Billy D. Persinger; her parents; and her grandson, Gunar Reed.

Dorothea Marie (Christiansen) Johnson, 89, of McFarland, Wisconsin and more recently Cedar Rapids Iowa, passed peacefully on Feb 10, 2023, following a brief period of declining health.

Dorothea was born in 1933 to George Daniel Christensen and Agnes Marie (Norem) Christiansen in St. Paul, Minnesota where she grew up in a loving, creative, family-centered and readiness to try new things. 

Dorothea loved to work in the yard and gardens that her father had established and would comment that the smile on his face when he came home from work was all the reward she needed. Dorothea loved the tropical fish her father raised in aquariums that he had constructed. Her mother was a wonderful cook and instilled that love within Dorothea, as well as imparting her culinary knowledge and skills. Family time was a priority. Dorothea was particularly fond of recounting family dinners that her mother made, enjoyed on the screen porch out back during the warmer months.

Dorothea enjoyed history, geography, and especially art in school. The activity she enjoyed most through junior high and high school was Luther League. It was at a Luther League convention in Colorado Springs following her graduation where Dorothea was introduced to a young man from Kansas who would eventually introduce Dorothea to Donald (Don) Johnson, the man she would marry and make a life with for 63 years.

Following more than a year of correspondence, Dorothea took the train from St. Paul to Seattle to visit Don where he was attending graduate school and where they became engaged. They were married in August of 1953. Don had joined the Air Force and was assigned to the Weather Corps in Europe. Dorothea joined Don in Germany in early 1954, three months after his arrival, traveling by sea aboard the USNS “General Geiger.” Dorothea and Don embraced travel and other opportunities available to them during the three-year assignment overseas, which included an assignment in France.

Following a state-side assignment at Tinker Airforce Base in Oklahoma, the family relocated to Madison where Don pursued graduate degrees in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin. Then, moving to “the country” while the three children (Mark, Bryan, and Christine) were young, Dorothea and Don began the process of rejuvenating a 100+ year-old farmhouse and turning the place into a hobby farm with a large garden, numerous pets, and eventually horses. There was an apple orchard along with numerous other fruit trees. Dorothea took up canning and, along with various jams and jellies, “put up” untold quantities of apple sauce and produce from the garden. 

Much family time was spent on the front screened porch during the warmer months, just as Dorothea had spent with her parents in her youth. Dorothea loved watching the butterflies and the occasional hummingbird come to her flower beds, and there were always fresh flowers from her gardens on the screen porch table where many meals were enjoyed.

Dorothea was known for her hospitality and dinner parties. Don had taken a position on the faculty of the Meteorology Department at the university. So there were numerous dinners with faculty and visiting scientists, amongst others around the dining room table. Perhaps some of the most memorable “meal events” were the weekend “work party” days where on any given Saturday during the summer months, graduate students and other volunteers from the Meteorology Department would gather at the home in McFarland to help with scraping, painting, plastering, window glazing, and other aspects of remodeling the Johnson homestead. Late afternoons on those days Dorothea would present a large main course, and guests would bring out their side &nbsp;dishes to share – including many with an international flair. These were truly wonderful experiences, especially for a young family making new friends and learning about so many wonderful places and cuisines while growing up.

Dorothea loved to travel and did so extensively through much of her life. Earlier on, that love of &nbsp;travel was cultivated within her children as they grew. There were numerous trips out west and extended adventures to Colorado and Pennsylvania where Don had the opportunity to take short term academic and scientific assignments. Family trips to Kansas to visit grandparents and extended family were especially looked forward to. Later, Dorothea would frequently accompany Don when traveling to domestic and international scientific meetings. Over the course of those trips Dorothea developed a network of dear friends amongst the other traveling spouses – shopping, sightseeing, and sharing many lunches over the course of their daytime excursions.

Dorothea loved art and was a prolific artist. She largely focused on oil painting and print making with favorite subjects including rugged natural landscapes, cottage gardens, and other floral displays. She both taught and studied art for over 20 years, including regularly attending “The Rhinelander School of the Arts” in northern Wisconsin and teaching through the Madison Area Technical College. Dorothea also loved dancing, especially to live music. She and Don enjoyed dancing for over 25 years, following their favorite bands to local venues for these special nights out.

Over time, Dorothea and Don transitioned from Madison to Cedar Rapids – spending increasing amounts of time living with daughter Christine and her family, and where there was another screen porch for enjoying pleasant weather and spending time together. Many gatherings celebrating birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries as well as the occasional art project were hosted there.

Ultimately Dorothea forged a warm, fun, loving, creative home and life mirroring that of her parents – and at every turn sought to teach her children to do the same. She always shared her smile with everyone. She and her smile will be deeply missed.

Dorothea is preceded in death by husband Don, her parents, and sister Vivian Mansfield. 

She is survived by son Mark, grandchildren Michael and Sarah, and great-grandchildren Barrett and Mabel; son Bryan (wife Sheryl) and grandchildren Neil, Bridget, and Kevin; and daughter Christine (husband Dan) and grandchildren Katherine and Nichole.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Andover Lutheran Church, 115 Dakota Rd., Windom, Kansas, Pastor Anna Borders presiding. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 in the church prior to the service, followed by a brief graveside service at Andover Lutheran Church cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 1, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 153 Cherry Hill Road NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. &nbsp;

Dorothea loved to work in the yard and gardens that her father had established and would comment that the smile on his face when he came home from work was all the reward she needed. Dorothea loved the tropical fish her father raised in aquariums that he had constructed. Her mother was a wonderful cook and instilled that love within Dorothea, as well as imparting her culinary knowledge and skills. Family time was a priority. Dorothea was particularly fond of recounting family dinners that her mother made, enjoyed on the screen porch out back during the warmer months. Dorothea enjoyed history, geography, and especially art in school. The activity she enjoyed most through junior high and high school was Luther League. It was at a Luther League convention in Colorado Springs following her graduation where Dorothea was introduced to a young man from Kansas who would eventually introduce Dorothea to Donald (Don) Johnson, the man she would marry and make a life with for 63 years.Following more than a year of correspondence, Dorothea took the train from St. Paul to Seattle to visit Don where he was attending graduate school and where they became engaged. They were married in August of 1953. Don had joined the Air Force and was assigned to the Weather Corps in Europe. Dorothea joined Don in Germany in early 1954, three months after his arrival, traveling by sea aboard the USNS “General Geiger.” Dorothea and Don embraced travel and other opportunities available to them during the three-year assignment overseas, which included an assignment in France. Following a state-side assignment at Tinker Airforce Base in Oklahoma, the family relocated to Madison where Don pursued graduate degrees in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin. Then, moving to “the country” while the three children (Mark, Bryan, and Christine) were young, Dorothea and Don began the process of rejuvenating a 100+ year-old farmhouse and turning the place into a hobby farm with a large garden, numerous pets, and eventually horses. There was an apple orchard along with numerous other fruit trees. Dorothea took up canning and, along with various jams and jellies, “put up” untold quantities of apple sauce and produce from the garden. Much family time was spent on the front screened porch during the warmer months, just as Dorothea had spent with her parents in her youth. Dorothea loved watching the butterflies and the occasional hummingbird come to her flower beds, and there were always fresh flowers from her gardens on the screen porch table where many meals were enjoyed.Dorothea was known for her hospitality and dinner parties. Don had taken a position on the faculty of the Meteorology Department at the university. So there were numerous dinners with faculty and visiting scientists, amongst others around the dining room table. Perhaps some of the most memorable “meal events” were the weekend “work party” days where on any given Saturday during the summer months, graduate students and other volunteers from the Meteorology Department would gather at the home in McFarland to help with scraping, painting, plastering, window glazing, and other aspects of remodeling the Johnson homestead. Late afternoons on those days Dorothea would present a large main course, and guests would bring out their side &nbsp;dishes to share – including many with an international flair. These were truly wonderful experiences, especially for a young family making new friends and learning about so many wonderful places and cuisines while growing up. Dorothea loved to travel and did so extensively through much of her life. Earlier on, that love of &nbsp;travel was cultivated within her children as they grew. There were numerous trips out west and extended adventures to Colorado and Pennsylvania where Don had the opportunity to take short term academic and scientific assignments. Family trips to Kansas to visit grandparents and extended family were especially looked forward to. Later, Dorothea would frequently accompany Don when traveling to domestic and international scientific meetings. Over the course of those trips Dorothea developed a network of dear friends amongst the other traveling spouses – shopping, sightseeing, and sharing many lunches over the course of their daytime excursions. Dorothea loved art and was a prolific artist. She largely focused on oil painting and print making with favorite subjects including rugged natural landscapes, cottage gardens, and other floral displays. BROOKVILLE Mable Ruth Bettenbrock, 97, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 in Lincoln. She was born September 5, 1925, on the family farm near Falun, KS in Saline County to Harry and Ruth (Hopp) Gile.

She married Jack Delbert Bettenbrock in Salina on October 31, 1964 and was a resident of Brookville for over 50 years.

Mable was a dedicated farm wife. She also worked for many years at the Brookville Hotel and on the Saline County Election Board.&nbsp;

She was a member of the Brookville United Methodist Church and the church’s United Methodist Women group.

Mable is survived by her daughter Debbie Breneman (Monty) of Lincoln; grandsons Tyler Breneman of Lindsborg and Kyle Breneman of Lincoln; granddaughter Mikayla Ruth Breneman of Lincoln; and nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; sister Marlene Chance; brothers Harrison, Verlyn, Edward, and Eugene Gile; and nephews Alan Chance and Mike Bettenbrock.

Raymond Earl Jerwick, Jr., age 74, died March 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Raymond Earl Sr. and Lillian (Parker) Jerwick, on August 29, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT.

Raymond was born and raised in Bridgeport. He attended Bridgeport schools and graduated in 1967.&nbsp; 

Raymond joined the Marines right out of high school and served in the Vietnam War. After serving two years with the Marines he made his way back to Connecticut where he married Susan Malchisky, on October 11, 1969. 

In 1974 Raymond joined the Army. He and his family moved to Fort Benning, Germany and Kansas, where he retired after 26 years of service. Raymond worked for the Fort Riley Exchange (Aafes), later retiring from there also. 

He earned a bachelor's degree in business management.

Raymond enjoyed a plethora of outdoor activites such as hunting, fishing, working on cars and most of all target shooting. He also enjoyed some time inside on his computer. 

Above all else though, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.&nbsp; 

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marlene Burgess and Lillian Hamelin.

Harper’s life began on May 1, 2017, in Newton.&nbsp; She is the daughter of Matthew and Stephanie (King) Bryant.&nbsp; 

Harper was an energetic and joyous kindergarten student at Marion Elementary.&nbsp; She loved to dance and sing and draw.&nbsp; Harper had a huge imagination and would play for hours with her dolls and tea set. &nbsp;She was adventurous and strong and would try to climb almost anything.&nbsp; Harper loved animals, especially her pet guinea pigs and her cat George. &nbsp;Her smile melted your heart and she could always make you smile.&nbsp; 

Harper’s dad and mom&nbsp; Matt and Stephanie Bryant reside in &nbsp;Marion, her siblings are Landon and Emmarie Bryant of Marion and Jordan (Melody) Brewer of Newton; her niece Daisy Brewer; maternal grandma Annette King of Hillsboro, paternal grandparents Joe and Darla Bryant of Marion, her aunt Andrea King of Colorado Springs and her uncle Daniel Bryant of Emporia. 

Harper passed from the life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday March 11, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.&nbsp;

SALINA, KS -&nbsp;Anna Lorene Currie, age 90, died March 11, 2023 at Salina, Kansas.

Mrs. Currie was born on December 1, 1932 in rural Saline County to Robert and Almeda Isaacson and was a homemaker in the Gypsum, Kansas area her entire life.&nbsp; 

Following graduation from Gypsum High School with the class of 1950,&nbsp; she was united in marriage to George J. Currie on October 8, 1950 in Assaria, Kansas.&nbsp; She was a devoted wife and loving mother and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

She was a former member of the Kipp Presbyterian Church, serving as church organist for several decades. She later became a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the Chancel Choir.&nbsp; She also volunteered at the Salina Regional Health Center and participated in a ladies select singing group in Salina. &nbsp; She was preceded in death by her husband George J. Currie, one great-granddaughter, four brothers, Joyal, Melvin, Loren, and Delmar (Harvey), and one sister, Hazel.&nbsp;

 She is survived by two sons, Mike and wife Nikki of Gypsum, Kansas, Curt of Brenham, Texas, one daughter, Julie Hollis of Houston, Texas, eight grandchildren, Thayne (Mengshu) Currie; Taylor (Kelly) Currie; Brooke Currie Dinkel; Anna Hollis (Luke) Kingham; Jason Hollis; Sara Hollis; Sara Currie; Marley Torrez; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on March 18, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, Kansas with viewing from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m.&nbsp; Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina, Kansas immediately following the service.

Memorials are suggested to the Trinity United Methodist Church Chancel Choir or the Gypsum Community Foundation.

Sharon Ann Cross, 75, was called home after a battle with cancer on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Sharon was born March 16, 1947 in Herington, Kansas to Charles W. and Alice Mae (Diepenbrock) Dittman. 

She grew up in the Hope, Kansas area and attended Hope schools. She graduated from Hope High School in 1965 and continued her education at Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina. 

On April 9, 1966, she married the love of her life, Clifford Jon Cross, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lyons Creek, rural Herington, Kansas. They have been enjoying life together for the last 56 years.

Sharon worked for Home Health through the State of Kansas for many years providing helpful and loving care for all her clients. Sharon and CJ always put family first. They were at every activity and celebration for their children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed being a youth group leader, planting flowers, serving her church, and traveling the United States setting up book stands at conventions for Concordia Publishing House.

Survivors include her husband, Cliff “CJ” of the home; their children, Jennifer and Darren Tiers, of Clay Center, Tim and Jennifer Cross of Solomon, and Elesa and Justin Parsons, of El Dorado. Also survived by her grandchildren, Chelsea Deges (Ian), Shelby Turner (Trenton), Morgan Talbert, Brody Bryant, Jacob Tiers, Kylie Bryant, Lauren Wilson (Kevin), Shaelynn Cross (Fiancé, Dawson), Allison Cross, Jake Tole, Mallory Parsons, Cody Tole, Macy Parsons, and Graydon Parsons; great-grandchildren, Ava Talbert, Taylynne Turner, Koy Byrd and Baby Wilson, due in May. Other survivors include her brother, Duane Dittman (Brenda) of Lincolnville; sister, Janice Fenske (John) of Park City; sister, Charlotte Schultz (Jim) of Hope; sister-in-law, Diana Dittman, of Hope; uncle, Dale Diepenbrock (Marlyn) of Herington; aunt, Emmy Diepenbrock of Herington; along with many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Mae Dittman; sister, Carolyn Dittman; brother, Gerald Dittman; and uncle, Roy Diepenbrock.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 16, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Herington, Kansas at 2:00 p.m.

On March 11, 2023, a bright beacon of light was sadly extinguished 
with the death of Michele Lynette (Werner) Jeffrey.   Michele was 
badgered by cancer for 7 years before the disease ended her life at the 
age of 55.  Throughout her health challenge, she never lost her ability 
to positively effect the world and people around her.

age of 55. Throughout her health challenge, she never lost her ability 
to positively effect the world and people around her.She was born February 14, 1968, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Martin “Pete” and Leona (Chandler) Werner.Michele
 graduated from Chanute High School in 1986. She graduated from Crum’s 
Beauty College in Manhattan and also attended Metropolitan State 
University in Denver, CO.Michele found joy working 
within the arts. Her natural ability to coordinate color and space led 
her into a satisfying career that began with framing of art pieces and 
interior design accessories. She transitioned that start into a 
corporate art consultation business assisting with the acquisition and 
installations of art pieces for health care facilities, hotels and 
restaurants.He personal life revolved around 
generosity. Fostering and adopting three children, volunteering her 
time for veteran’s groups, school activities, coaching kid’s sports, 
educational surrogacy for the foster system and making sure many dogs 
had a home were just a few of her positive impacts Michele has left upon
 the world. She enjoyed hosting parties and events for a good cause and
 just the pleasure of enjoying people. She delighted in trips to Vegas,
 tailgating at football games, and travel of all sorts. She made sure 
the people she loved slowed down occasionally to appreciate the beauty 
all around us.On October 17, 1987, in Chanute, Kansas,
 she was married to Scott Jeffrey. Scott survives of the home. 
Additional survivors include her three children: Andrea Jeffrey of 
Cleveland, OH, Kevin Jeffrey of Abilene, KS, and Christopher Jeffrey of 
Denver, CO; her mother Leona Werner of Chanute; her brother Martin 
“Marty” Werner and his wife Stacy;&nbsp;Scott’s parents Gerry &amp; Sharon 
Jeffrey of Manhattan; Scott’s sister Kristal Forrester and her husband 
Wil; and one nephew Nolan Werner and one niece Hana Forrester.Michele was preceded in death by her father Martin “Pete” Werner.Funeral
 services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 17th, at the 
Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dr. Dennis 
Ackerman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. 
Saturday, March 18th, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. There will 
be another celebration of her life for her friends in Montrose, 
Colorado, at the Bridges at 5:00 P.M. on March 30th, Michele would want
