The Salina Police Department is scheduled for a site-based review and assessment later this month.

According to a statement released by the department, The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. will conduct its assessment from February 26-28. The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with contemporary standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments through the use of an electronic public portal located here.

Once the webpage is accessed, the user can scroll down to find the CALEA Accreditation Public Comment Portal.

Click on the icon to proceed and submit your comments. When completed, simply click on "Send Feedback."

Comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the Salina Police Department with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
