Louise “Weezy” Becker, 85, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, surrounded by family at Pine Village, Moundridge.&nbsp;

Weezy was born on August 14, 1940, in Tescott, KS, the daughter of Frederick Paul and Esther Margaret (Kissick) Coopple.&nbsp; On August 14, 1970, Weezy was united in marriage to Franklin “Frankie” Edward Becker in McPherson.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on October 16, 2022.

Weezy was retired from Sterling Drug in McPherson.

She is survived by a sister, Joyce (Michael) Prigmore of Arizona; nieces &amp; nephews, Mark (Kimber) Coopple of Salina, KS, Sherry Hoaglund of Wenatchee, WA, Robert (Karen) Coopple of Jarrell, TX, Dan (Robin) Brayton of McPherson, KS, and Janell (Sylvester) Peachey of Moundridge, KS; and a great-niece, Keeley Davis of Aurora, CO.

Weezy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Darlene Sullivan.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, December 8, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 9, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Chaplain John Hull officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery in Tescott.&nbsp;

Mary Louise Gonzales

Leroy "Lee" Buller, born in Newton, Kansas, was a devoted family man, skilled communicator, and dedicated servant. He passed away on December 1, 2025.

Lee graduated from Newton High School in 1968. A lifelong enthusiast, he attained his Novice Amateur Radio license at age 15, becoming a highly skilled operator. After serving in the Selective Service at the Menninger Foundation, Lee earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kansas State University.

In 1972, he married his beloved wife, Ruby Marlene Peterson. They were blessed with two children, Sara Christine and Daniel Ryan of Newton, Kansas.

Lee's career spanned several fields: he worked in broadcasting for NPR affiliate KSAC/KKSU and KSAL, served as an Assistant Professor at Kansas State University and Oklahoma Baptist University, and transitioned into Information Technology. He notably served as the Information System Manager for Newton Medical Center and finished his career at Excel in Hesston, retiring in 2015.

Lee was an active member and leader at Kingdom Life Ministry Church, a dedicated KSU fan, and a proud leader of the Newton High School Class of 1968. He was known for his servant's heart, dispensing wisdom, dad jokes, and funny anecdotes to his family.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Myrle Buller; his sister, Janice Buller Arnold; sister-in-law Gretchen Peterson; in-laws, CL and Edna Mae Peterson; and niece, Kristina Peterson.

He is survived by his wife Ruby, of 53 years; his brother, Lawrence Buller; his children, Sara Buller and Daniel (Melissa) Buller; and his granddaughter, Charlotte Elaine Buller, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was loving, caring, kind, and is rejoicing with his creator in the Kingdom of Heaven.

A funeral for Lee will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Kingdom Life Ministries, 505 S. Ridge Rd., Hesston, Kansas. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may gather for a visitation on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., Newton, Kansas. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Ray Covington, fondly known as Chuck, a cherished father, husband, brother, and friend, who left this world on November 27, 2025, at the age of 59. 

Born on December 13, 1965, in Salina, Kansas, Charles was a proud member of the United States Marines, carrying the spirit of "Semper Fi" throughout his life.Charles was the son of John and Dixie Covington, who instilled in him values of hard work and determination. 

He led a life that was as colorful as it was meaningful, with an extensive career that showcased his many talents. He was a jack of all trades, having worked as a writer, designed elevator replacement parts for Habco, and contributed to the design of busses for El Dorado. 

One of his proudest achievements was helping create a rear engine school bus alongside John Nemo in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. His education at Salina Vo-Tech, where he earned a degree in Computer Aided Drafting (Auto Cad), laid the foundation for his diverse skill set.Charles was married to Kathleen Metcalf on September 6, 1988, in Salina, Kansas. Though they had been separated as friends for the past 24 years, their bond as co-parents and partners in life remained strong through their shared dedication to their family. Together, they raised 2 wonderful daughters, Krista and April and a son, Justin. He was also the proud owner of his beloved African Grey Parrot Tesla.

He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Terrence, Jake, Kahmya, Rakeyah, Aidan, Cooper, Cataleya, Jadyn, Rylee, and Kira, and was delighted to have recently become a great-grandfather to Riggs. Charles had a special gift for storytelling, often captivating his grandchildren with tales that reflected his quick wit and enormous intelligence. His sarcastic and crass outlook on life made him both memorable and entertaining, often leaving those around him laughing or shaking their heads in disbelief.

He is preceded in death by his dear sisters Nicole Covington and Tammy Ingram. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his daughters Krista and April (Nick) and son Justin (Sylvia) and his bird Tesla. He also leaves behind his siblings: sister Marcenda Baker and brothers from another mother Shane Price, Terel Johnson, and Darren Cloyd. He was a proud uncle to nephews Griffyn Vaughn and wife Sandra, Logan Wright, Cody Baker, and Conner Baker, as well as his niece Courtney Baker.&nbsp;In addition to his extensive family ties, Charles had a wide array of hobbies that provided him joy throughout his life. He was passionate about jewelry making and had a unique talent for crafting swords and knives from ordinary spoons and other materials. A poet at heart, some of his work was published, and he found solace in writing that expressed his thoughts and experiences. Music was another love of his, and he appreciated the rhythm and melody of tunes from all genres.&nbsp;Charles's life was not without struggles, but he navigated them with resilience and a matter-of-fact attitude that often drew both admiration and exasperation from those around him. He had an extraordinary gift for making people think and feel deeply, often through his blunt commentary and humor.

The come and go memorial service for Charles Ray Covington will be held on December 13, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm. at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St., Salina, KS, in his memory.

Charles Ray Covington

Wallace Dale Murphy, 94, passed away at his home while preparing for Thanksgiving lunch on November 27, 2025. He was born December 11, 1930, to Dallas and Rosaline (Panzer) Murphy at the family home in rural Lincoln County, Kansas.

Wallace was baptized and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Kansas. He was raised on the farm of his grandparents, Karl “Charlie” and Caroline “Mary” Panzer, by his mother; grandparents; uncle George and aunt Ruth Panzer; and aunt Louise and uncle George “Billy” Bettenbrock. His childhood on the farm shaped the man he became—he learned early to ride horses, raise cattle, farm, and enjoy the outdoors through hunting and fishing with his uncles and cousins.

He attended grade school at St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Ellsworth High School in May 1948. After high school, he began farming. On July 23, 1950, he married Melba Donley at the St. John’s parsonage, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted until Melba’s passing in 2013. Their first home was the “house behind the hill,” at the Panzer farm, a very primitive old house, before moving to Sylvan Grove. Ultimately the young family moved to Alton, Kansas, in 1956 when Wallace became manager of Shields Ranch. He later leased the ranch and operated it as Murphy Ranch. Through all these years, Wallace and Melba raised four sons—Terry, Daniel, Carlin, and Richard.

Ranching was more than a livelihood for Wallace—it was a calling. He raised cattle and farmed throughout his life, with a particular passion for building a quality Hereford cow herd that eventually reached 400 head. He was known for his skill working cattle on horseback and always kept a good cow horse. He remained in the cattle business until 2014 when the ranch was sold, and he continued living there until this past winter, checking water tanks and rounding up any cows that managed to slip out of their pasture.

After he was no longer actively ranching, Wallace challenged himself to have a roast beef or roast chicken dinner—with dessert—ready for anyone who let him know they were stopping by. No one ever left his table hungry. He loved visiting with friends and family, though he preferred small groups over large crowds.

Wallace believed deeply in community involvement and service. He served in the Army Reserve and Kansas National Guard (E5) until moving to Alton. He provided leadership to numerous boards and organizations, including Farm Bureau, the Alton School Board, his church, the Fair Board, the Soil Conservation District, County Extension, Cattlemen’s Associations, the Alton Rural Fire Department, and Sumner 4-H. He was also a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma, Kansas. His commitment to these organizations reflected his dedication to rural life and the people who shared it with him.

In his later years, Wallace continued to enjoy the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Deer hunting always held a special place for him, with fishing becoming a favorite when hunting was no longer possible. He also developed a deep passion for sharing God’s love with those who helped him with projects or accompanied him on longer drives to appointments in Hays or Salina. When he could no longer drive to Natoma as often for church services, he looked forward to pastoral visits from Pastor Schmidt—usually accompanied by lunch. He was a lifelong listener of The Lutheran Hour on the radio, a Sunday tradition begun in his grandparents’ home.

Wallace will be deeply missed. Survivors include:

 </figure>Wallace Dale Murphy, 94, passed away at his home while preparing for Thanksgiving lunch on November 27, 2025. He was born December 11, 1930, to Dallas and Rosaline (Panzer) Murphy at the family home in rural Lincoln County, Kansas.Wallace was baptized and later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Kansas. He was raised on the farm of his grandparents, Karl “Charlie” and Caroline “Mary” Panzer, by his mother; grandparents; uncle George and aunt Ruth Panzer; and aunt Louise and uncle George “Billy” Bettenbrock. His childhood on the farm shaped the man he became—he learned early to ride horses, raise cattle, farm, and enjoy the outdoors through hunting and fishing with his uncles and cousins.He attended grade school at St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Ellsworth High School in May 1948. After high school, he began farming. On July 23, 1950, he married Melba Donley at the St. John’s parsonage, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted until Melba’s passing in 2013. Their first home was the “house behind the hill,” at the Panzer farm, a very primitive old house, before moving to Sylvan Grove. Ultimately the young family moved to Alton, Kansas, in 1956 when Wallace became manager of Shields Ranch. He later leased the ranch and operated it as Murphy Ranch. Through all these years, Wallace and Melba raised four sons—Terry, Daniel, Carlin, and Richard.Ranching was more than a livelihood for Wallace—it was a calling. He raised cattle and farmed throughout his life, with a particular passion for building a quality Hereford cow herd that eventually reached 400 head. He was known for his skill working cattle on horseback and always kept a good cow horse. He remained in the cattle business until 2014 when the ranch was sold, and he continued living there until this past winter, checking water tanks and rounding up any cows that managed to slip out of their pasture.After he was no longer actively ranching, Wallace challenged himself to have a roast beef or roast chicken dinner—with dessert—ready for anyone who let him know they were stopping by. No one ever left his table hungry. He loved visiting with friends and family, though he preferred small groups over large crowds.Wallace believed deeply in community involvement and service. He served in the Army Reserve and Kansas National Guard (E5) until moving to Alton. He provided leadership to numerous boards and organizations, including Farm Bureau, the Alton School Board, his church, the Fair Board, the Soil Conservation District, County Extension, Cattlemen’s Associations, the Alton Rural Fire Department, and Sumner 4-H. He was also a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Natoma, Kansas. His commitment to these organizations reflected his dedication to rural life and the people who shared it with him.In his later years, Wallace continued to enjoy the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Deer hunting always held a special place for him, with fishing becoming a favorite when hunting was no longer possible. He also developed a deep passion for sharing God’s love with those who helped him with projects or accompanied him on longer drives to appointments in Hays or Salina. When he could no longer drive to Natoma as often for church services, he looked forward to pastoral visits from Pastor Schmidt—usually accompanied by lunch. He was a lifelong listener of The Lutheran Hour on the radio, a Sunday tradition begun in his grandparents’ home.Wallace will be deeply missed. Donna Sue Gaskill, 89 years of age, of Glasco, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at her residence in Glasco, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born on April 21, 1936, in Beloit, Kansas to Lyle and Josie (Helmbrecht) Haskins.

Donna attended Scottsville Grade School during her youth and later would graduate from Beloit High School, Beloit, Kansas.

She married Frank Huber and to this union two daughters were born, Sherry and Brenda and two sons Dana and Frank .&nbsp; They later divorced.&nbsp; She then married Marvin Stortz and they later divorced.&nbsp; Donna then married Allan Gaskill, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;She held many secretarial roles in her lifetime at Southwestern Bell, Diebels Shoe Store, Caldwell Shoes, COOP, St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia High School, Cloud County Health Department and retired from Pawnee Mental Health.

Donna enjoyed gardening, flowers, family, shopping, feeding birds, and collecting the next latest trending item. She also enjoyed her purses, shoes, hats, scarves, and jewelry. Later in life she really enjoyed her shows that included Reba, The Price is Right, Deal or No Deal, Family Feud, and Wheel of Fortune. Donna also enjoyed her sweets where pie, ice cream, and Werther’s original candies played an important role in her life.

She was a 50-year member of O.E.S. where she received a pin for her years of service. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and was a previous member of the Scottsville and Concordia Presbyterian Churches.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Sherry (Brad) Nelson and Brenda (John) Wisbey, her grandchildren, Mark (Starla) Nelson, Bret (Amanda) Nelson, Jay (Michelle) Wisbey, Andrea (Michael) Chaput, and her eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Gaskill, parents, Lyle &amp; Josie Haskins, her two sons Dana and Frank Huber, a sister, Helen Maxine Linton, and a brother, David Haskins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.

Robert Louis “Bob” LeClair, 77, of Salina, KS, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1948, in Concordia, KS, to Adamore and Aldia (Peltier) LeClair.

Bob was raised in Clyde, KS, and graduated from Clifton High School. He was joined in marriage to Mary Harris on April 28, 1985, in Salina. They made their home in Salina and Bob worked for many years as a draftsman for local engineering firms.

Bob loved woodworking and his dogs, especially the many golden retrievers he and Mary raised over 30 years. He enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, and in his younger years, racing cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael LeClair; and father-in-law, Eugene Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary; brother, Richard LeClair (Julie); mother-in-law, Lillian Harris; sister-in-law, Kim Merry (Jerry); brothers-in-law, Van Harris (Liz), Vaughn Harris (Gail), and Paul Harris (Delores); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Robert Louis “Bob” LeClair

Everett Burns, 99, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025.

Born at home in 1926, Everett lived a life defined by service and an unshakeable work ethic. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving his country in the Philippines and Japan.

Everett dedicated his life to his profession. He was an avid and skilled dental technician who refused to let age slow him down, continuing his work with precision and pride until just a few years ago, well into his 90s. His enduring commitment to his profession was an inspiration to all who knew him.

A man of deep faith, Everett expressed his devotion through his generous spirit, always ready to offer a helping hand and a kind word to those in need within his community and church.

In 1949, Everett married Lenora Stricker Burns, and they shared 44 years of marriage until her passing. He later found companionship with Barbara Srack Strowig, with whom he spent 21 years until her passing in 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joker and Margaret (Sorenson) Burns; son, Richard Earl Burns; and brothers, Bernard and Gail.

He is survived by his daughter, Penny Hulett, and her husband, John; his grandsons, Scott and Derek; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Asher and Anathalie; and his long-time companion and friend, Joyce Catt.

A service at 11:00 will be held at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St in Salina, KS 67401, on Saturday, December 6th with visitation starting at 10:00. Interment will follow at the cemetery in Delavan, KS.

Roy Robert Ricke, 94 of Eagan, MN, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025.&nbsp;

Roy was born May 16, 1931, in Morgan, MN, the son of Bernard and Erma (Palmer) Ricke.&nbsp;

After graduation from high school, Roy proudly served as a sergeant in Army Intelligence during the Korean War. It was during this service that he married his high school sweetheart, Pat Reitter. They were married for 56 years before she passed away in 2011.

Roy was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1621 serving Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, MN. He also volunteered as a fireman with the Marshall Fire Department, later becoming assistant fire chief.&nbsp;

Roy was truly a jack of all trades. He was known for being an innovative problem solver who could do anything from cracking a safe to developing multi-million dollar food processing lines. He is credited with four U.S. patents.&nbsp;

Remaining to cherish Roy’s memory are his children Tim (Kathy), Sue (John)

VonDeLinde, Joe (Terry), and Jerry (Kassie); 12 grandchildren; 6&nbsp;great-grandchildren; sister Carol DeKing; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Georgetta (West) Kearn, age 75, Concordia, KS resident, passed away Saturday November 29th, 2025 at Sunset Home, Concordia, KS. She was born on October 23, 1950 in Belleville, KS to Sigurd and Arlene (Clute) West.

She married Darrell Ray Kearn on November 2, 1968. She attended the Victory Faith Assembly of God Church in Concordia.

She worked at Scott Specialties, Mount Joseph Senior Village, and the Nazareth Motherhouse Convent where she would retire from. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Georgetta Kearn

Emma Ruth (Huxman) Schmidt died on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at 100 years and 4 months, at The Cedars in McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born to Rudy and Esther (Meyer) Huxman on July 20, 1925 at Newton, Kansas.

She grew up on a farm northeast of Moundridge, along with three brothers.&nbsp; She went to elementary school at South Happy Hollow, and attended one year of high school at Moundridge.&nbsp; She attended Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute for 2 years in Salina; after which she worked in housekeeping at Bethel Home in Newton.

Emma Ruth was introduced to Ormond (O.D.) Schmidt in early 1947, and they were married on Sept 5, 1947, in Calvary Tabernacle Church in Moundridge.&nbsp; They moved to a small farm without modern conveniences southeast of Goessel. There, their first child, Myron, was born to them in 1949.

They moved to a farm northeast of Canton where their other two children were born; a son Neil in 1952 and a daughter Ellen in 1956. Later, they moved to the farm where O.D. had grown up and stayed there until their retirement.

They were members of the Flying Farmers organization, and Emma Ruth was crowned as the Kansas Queen in 1988 and 2008.&nbsp; While O.D. was a pilot, Emma Ruth took flying lessons and soloed in 1965; mostly to be a co-pilot in case of emergency.

Emma Ruth was a farm wife who helped in the field, grew huge gardens and butchered chickens. She was the secretary of the Goessel Mennonite Church for years, and later she received her CNA training and worked at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home in Canton.&nbsp; After the couple’s retirement from farming and subsequent move to McPherson in 1994, she spent countless hours volunteering at The Cedars, where she fed residents, did manicures, helped with bingo and led music for worship services.&nbsp; Emma Ruth was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the City of McPherson in 2006.

She is survived by son Myron Schmidt of Newton; son Neil Schmidt and wife Virginia of McPherson; daughter Ellen and husband Larry Gilbert of McPherson; grandchildren: Racquel Thiesen High, Craig Schmidt and wife Laura, Kevin Schmidt and wife Nicole, Erin Koehn and husband Milan, Kyle Gilbert, Lesli Coomes and husband Jason; great-grandchildren: Georgia Berning and husband Spencer, Gentry Thiesen, Madeline Schmidt, Samuel Schmidt, Trent Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Alyssa Schmidt, Juliana Schmidt, Nora High, Holland High, Emma Coomes; great-great-grandchildren: Wren Berning, Murphy Berning.

She was preceded in death by her husband O.D., parents, brothers; Elmer, Orlin, Melvin; great-granddaughter, Tatum High.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the McPherson Church of the Brethren.&nbsp; A reception will follow for family and friends to reminisce.

Schmidt in early 1947, and they were married on Sept 5, 1947, in Calvary Tabernacle Church in Moundridge.&nbsp; They moved to a small farm without modern conveniences southeast of Goessel. Terry Dean Hauschel, born December 20, 1961 in Fairbury, Nebraska, and raised in Morrowville, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home in Salina, Kansas on November 29, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Marvin “Mike” Hauschel and Luella Maye (Smith) Hauschel.

Terry graduated from North Central High School in 1980. He went on to earn an Associate of Art from Cloud County Community College in 1982, followed by an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor of Science from Fort Hays State University in 1984. He later returned to school and received his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Columbia Southern University in 2015.

On May 19, 1984, Terry married Deanna (Tuxhorn), beginning a partnership that lasted over four decades. Together they raised two children, daughter Lindsey and son Michael.

Terry worked for more than 40 years in healthcare administration, where his passion for people and his commitment to helping others truly shined. He was the hospital administrator who knew the name of every employee and made everyone, from the CEO to the cleaning staff, feel valued and important. He devoted his career to serving patients and supporting those who cared for them.

Terry was a devout Catholic and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was honored to serve as a 4th Degree Knight.

Above all, Terry was kind - someone who would do anything to help another person. He knew no stranger, greeting everyone with warmth and sincerity. He shared God’s love in everything he did, offering compassion, comfort, and friendship wherever he went. He was the dad who never failed to say “I love you,” and he held Jesus close to his heart. His faith never wavered, guiding every step of his life.

Terry loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He often said he felt closest to God in his tree stand, surrounded by the beauty of His creation. The peace of nature filled his soul and reflected the deep faith that grounded him throughout his life.

Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Deanna; his daughter Lindsey (Alex) Fox; his son Michael (Lauren) Hauschel; and his cherished grandsons, Fulton Fox and Henry Hauschel. He is also survived by his sister Marvene (Bill) Gieber; his brother Kenneth (Kaye) Hauschel; and his brother-in-law Robert Pumarlo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Luella Hauschel, and his sister Vonda Pumarlo.

Visitation and Rosary will be held&nbsp;from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4th&nbsp;at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in Salina, Kansas (Rosary to&nbsp;start at 7pm).

Terry Dean Hauschel

Marvin D. Greenberg passed away on November 30, 2025, at Parkview Nursing Center, Osborne, Ks at the age of 83. His parents were George and Grayce Greenberg. As a twin he and his sister, Sharon Pope, were born at Norton and raised in Selden, Kansas.

He attended school in Selden, graduating in 1960 from Selden High School. Following graduation, he attended Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, later known as Emporia State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education in 1964, his master’s in educational administration in 1968, and his specialist in education in 1969. He taught elementary school in Brewster, Ks for 5 years before becoming elementary principal at Golden Plains, Selden and Rexford. He also held positions at Wheatland: Grainfield, Gove, and Park Schools, St. Joseph’s Elementary, Oakley; Scott City, Shallow Water, Ks, and Smith Center Elementary School.

In 1969, Marvin and Louise Bosch were married in Russell, Kansas At the time he was elementary principal in Selden, Kansas. Several moves in school districts in Western Kansas with their home being in Smith Center in 1983. Marvin’s retirement included several rental properties that he took care of for many years along with gardening and volunteering. Over the years raising registered Persian cats occupied his life along with many rescued cats and kittens.

Marvin was active in Lions Club holding offices in the clubs he belonged to in Brewster, Grainfield, and Smith Center. He was District Governor in 1991-92 and 2001-21 for District NW and K. He held several positions at the district and state level, including Kansas Lions Band Foundation, K-I committee and other committees.

He was preceded in death by his parents, older sister, Phyllis Layher, and numerous aunts and uncles, and two nephews Survivors are his wife, Louise, his twin sister, Sharon Pope, Mankato; brother-in-law, Ray Bosch and wife, Sheila, Gorham, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews and their children, and his Lions family and friends.

Jonathan “Jon” Paul Jantz, 71, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, surrounded by friends at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp;

Jon was&nbsp;born on July 9, 1954, one of two sons of Melvin E. and Erna June (White) Jantz.&nbsp;He attended Harmony Grade School and graduated from McPherson High School in 1972. He continued on to Kansas State University, where he earned degrees in engineering and business. He later completed the Auto Restoration Program at McPherson College.

Jon founded Pennzoil Lube Center in May 1998, rebranding it as McPherson Quick Lube in May 2013. Over the years, he also owned and operated Jantz Implement, Inc. and Route 56 Express, and he spent several years in Pennsylvania working for Caterpillar.

He was an active member of his community, serving as both a member and Past President of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, and he was also a member of Mensa International. He greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of the Weenie Auto Club.

Jon had a lifelong passion for collecting and loved attending swap meets. He traveled widely and had a gift for striking up conversations with just about anyone he met, and literally, “never met a stranger!” He cherished all the dogs and cats he had throughout his life and is survived by his four beloved “fur children”: Livvy, Christmas, Layla, and Stella. He would surely have been greeted at heaven’s gates by those who passed before him.

Jon loved working on anything with a motor—tractors, cars, trucks, motorcycles, and everything in between. He leaves behind many dear friends whom he considered family.

A Celebration of Life (come &amp; go) and viewing will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; A private graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8, at Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson.

Jonathan “Jon” Paul Jantz

George M. Champlin, age 91, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born on October 17, 1934 in Jamestown, KS to Reynard H. &amp; Mildred N. (Moffett) Champlin.

George married Nancy Paul on August 31, 1957 in Scottsville, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;George was drafted and served in the US Army for two years.&nbsp;&nbsp;During one of those years, he was stationed in Germany.&nbsp;&nbsp;Nancy was able to join him during his service there.&nbsp;&nbsp;She preceded him in death in 2023.

After his military service, George was employed first for KP&amp;L.&nbsp;&nbsp;He went on to work for Messers (now Big A Auto Parts), the Keebler Cookie Co. and finally retired from Wilson’s Furniture in 1995 after many years in sales.&nbsp;&nbsp;That position included measuring flooring, mixing paint, delivering Lazy Boys on Christmas Eve, and fixing whatever was scratched, broken, or needed assembled.

George was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge.&nbsp;&nbsp;George was also a member of both the American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588.

George was a loving and supportive husband and father.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also was a very proud grandfather as well as a great grandfather.&nbsp;&nbsp;His many friends could attest to how loyal and generous he was; not only with his time but also his talents.&nbsp;&nbsp;George never knew a stranger.&nbsp;&nbsp;He would strike up a conversation with anyone.

George is survived by his sons, Steve Champlin (Kari), Concordia, KS, Greg Champlin (Mary), Garden City, KS &amp; Curt Champlin (Amy), Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Kayla Brown (Jordan), Janae Champlin, Derek Champlin, Carly Suther, Zachary Champlin, Logan Champlin, Cooper Champlin &amp; Carter Champlin; great granddaughter, Hailey Suther and sister in law, Katherine Paul, Jamestown, KS.

(Moffett) Champlin.George married Nancy Paul on August 31, 1957 in Scottsville, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;George was drafted and served in the US Army for two years.&nbsp;&nbsp;During one of those years, he was stationed in Germany.&nbsp;&nbsp;Nancy was able to join him during his service there.&nbsp;&nbsp;She preceded him in death in 2023.After his military service, George was employed first for KP&amp;L.&nbsp;&nbsp;He went on to work for Messers (now Big A Auto Parts), the Keebler Cookie Co. and finally retired from Wilson’s Furniture in 1995 after many years in sales.&nbsp;&nbsp;That position included measuring flooring, mixing paint, delivering Lazy Boys on Christmas Eve, and fixing whatever was scratched, broken, or needed assembled.George was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge.&nbsp;&nbsp;George was also a member of both the American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588.George was a loving and supportive husband and father.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also was a very proud grandfather as well as a great grandfather.&nbsp;&nbsp;His many friends could attest to how loyal and generous he was; not only with his time but also his talents.&nbsp;&nbsp;George never knew a stranger.&nbsp;&nbsp;He would strike up a conversation with anyone.George is survived by his sons, Steve Champlin (Kari), Concordia, KS, Greg Champlin (Mary), Garden City, KS &amp; Curt Champlin (Amy), Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Kayla Brown (Jordan), Janae Champlin, Derek Champlin, Carly Suther, Zachary Champlin, Logan Champlin, Cooper Champlin &amp; Carter Champlin; great granddaughter, Hailey Suther and sister in law, Katherine Paul, Jamestown, KS.He was preceded by his wife, Nancy, his parents, brother, Gary Champlin &amp; sisters, Marcia Champlin and Carolyn Cordwell and husband, Elmer.Memorial services will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS with Pastor Al Paredes officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS.&nbsp; Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 1-8 pm with the family greeting friends from 6-7 pm all at the funeral home.&nbsp; The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church. George M. Champlin

Kenley Everett Hoffman passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by his family in Salina, KS.&nbsp; Born on December 7, 1944, in Beloit, KS, to Helen (Runft) and Raymond Hoffman, Kenley spent his childhood on the family farm near Tipton, KS, a place that he would cherish for most of his life. With the heart of a farmer and contagious laughter that embraced everyone he met, Kenley lived a life steeped in Christian values, grounded in family, hard work, honesty, and joy.

He graduated from high school in Cawker City in 1962 and began farming alongside his father on their homestead. During his youth, Kenley was involved in 4-H, played football, baseball, and was a member of the high school marching band.

On October 9, 1965, he married Linda (Jay) at the United Methodist Church in Cawker City, KS. Together, they shared a loving partnership for 60 years, filled with faith and a deep Christian devotion to their faith and family. From this union, three children were born: Kevin, Tricia, and Melissa.

Kenley's love for the family farm and the livestock, established by his great-grandparents in 1889, shaped his life.&nbsp; It was a homestead rich with family values, and his passion that became both his life's work and his vocation. Kenley was a master of repairs on the farm, often relying on a roll of duct tape, bailing wire and a can of expandable foam.&nbsp; Recently, he and Linda retired from farming and moved to Salina in 2020, where they reconnected with new friends and neighbors. They became active members of the First Church of the Nazarene, enjoying fellowship and weekly card games with their close-knit community.

Kenley held his family dear, cherishing the moments spent at the kids' sports, camping trips, and family vacations. He had a unique ability to connect with others, especially over a cup of coffee at the local co-op station in Tipton. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to fellow farmers. His laughter was truly unforgettable—full, contagious, and impossible not to share. It echoed in the hearts of everyone who knew him, serving as a reminder that laughter can be the best medicine to be discovered in life’s simplest moments.

His greatest source of happiness came from his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He treasured watching them grow, sharing home-cooked meals that his wife lovingly prepared and enjoying the time together.

Kenley is survived by his devoted wife, Linda;&nbsp; son, Kevin (Lisa) Hoffman of Salina;&nbsp; daughter, Tricia (Michael) Fry of Salina.&nbsp; His grandchildren: Chandler (Kaileigh) Hoffman and great-granddaughter Heidi of Gardner, KS; Lydia (Jake) Tiernan of Salina; Hannah Hoffman of Salina; Peyton Fry of Salina; Chantell (Josh) Wessling, and great-grandsons Kale and Kaden of Beloit. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Hoffman of Centennial, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Melissa Palen and sons-in-law Wade Lyle and Brian Palen.

Visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, from 4-6pm, with family members available starting at 5pm, at Ryan Mortuary,&nbsp; 137 N. 8th St., Salina. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 6, at 10:00 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio St., Salina, KS. Burial and graveside services will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder, KS, at 2:30 PM on the same day.

Kenley Everett Hoffman

Shirley Ann Jones, born June 10, 1948, in Council Grove, Kansas, peacefully passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 77. A devoted nurse for more than 40 years at Salina Regional Health Center and a former nursing instructor at Kansas Wesleyan University, Shirley dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church and served as President of the Retired Nursing Alumni.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Jones; her son, Dennis Campbell; her grandson, Shakeim Campbell; her parents; and her siblings Virgil Campbell, Karen Scroggins, and Duereal Campbell. Cherishing her memory are her children Monica Spence, Vickie Stubbs, and Yvette Jones; her brother, Michael Campbell; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved friends and relatives.

Shirley will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Pauline Fishel, 88, of Colby, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Fairview Estates, Colby.

She was born on August 28, 1937, in Hill City, KS, to Lewis and Maude Dean. On December 20, 1958, she married the love of her life, Duane Herbert Fishel of Bemidji, MN. Pauline and Duane shared 65 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2023. Together, they raised three children: Carla, Terri, and Darren.

Pauline pursued higher education at Fort Hays State University and Emporia State University, ultimately earning a Master’s Degree in Mathematics. She dedicated her career to teaching, sharing her passion for math in several Kansas communities, including Hope, Bogue, Kensington, Salina, and at Marymount University. In 1990, Pauline and Duane made their home in Colby, where she continued to inspire students at Colby Community College until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Duane; her parents, Lewis and Maude; her sister, Evelyn; and her daughters, Carla and Terri.

Pauline leaves behind her son, Darren (Gina) Fishel of Salina, KS; her grandchildren, Jason Centner of Texas, Hannah (Brett) Bandy of Colby, KS, Alexis Nelson of Salina, KS, and Dillon Fishel of Portland, OR; as well as three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Zoey, and Teddy Bandy.
