On May 02, 2026 G. Louise Lagerman brought the curtain down on her final rodeo and has ridden into the sunset to heaven. Her final moments were spent with her loving family.She is survived by her Husband Mel, Son Mike (Joni), Daughter Kasey Unrein (Brian), Granddaughter Arielle, Grandsons Kyle, Caden and Drew. Sisters Carol Jackson (Mike), and Diana Redger, Brother David Redger (Linda) and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Robert, 

  Louise was born on December 31, 1948 in Dodge City Ks to parents Grace Luella Kumberg Redger and Albert Allen Redger. She spent her early years in  Cimarron Ks until they moved to Sitka Ks in 1951. She attended Ashland High School after graduation in 1966 she attended Fort Hays State University and finished her degree in management at Friends University.

  Louise met the love of her life, Melvin, in 1969 at a rodeo. She competed in Barrel Racing with the Central Kansas Rodeo Association. They married on February 28, 1970 and moved to Salina in 1972. They had just celebrated their 56th anniversary-quite the achievement!

Louise was considered to be a workaholic. In those early years she worked at OCCK, Security Savings and then began her career at Beech which lasted 37 years.  During that time she served as President of the Beech Employee Club, President of the PTA at Schilling Elementary,4-H cooking leader, Sunday School teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church and ABWA finance officer.  WORKAHOLIC INDEED!

Louise is deeply loved by her family and friends. We will all be less organized without her micromanaging ways!

A celebration of Life will be held on June 13,2026 from 10 to 5 at the Salina VFW at 1108 W Crawford St. Salina,KS.Access through the southwest (front) door. 

In lieu of donations we would like for you to write down a memory of Louise.

There will be paper and pens provided or you can write some down ahead of time. If you are unable to attend but would like to share a memory they can be sent to 1101 Harold Salina.KS.
