Mary F. Folk, 86, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 in Lyons. She was born March 22, 1935 in Healdton, OK to Hosey D. and Eddie Lee (Underwood) Perkins.

Mary was a longtime resident of Bushton where she was a teller at the Bushton State Bank. She married Melvin Folk in Wellington, KS on December 29, 1951.

Mary is survived by her sons Bob Folk of Great Bend and Jerry Folk (Vicki) of Bushton; grandchildren Adam Folk, Abby Terrell (Fletcher), Andi Hicks, Jessica Folk (Chris Riedel), Sloan Folk, Ben Folk, CiJi Folk (JD Linville), Ryan Hickel (Amanda Roach), and Tarilynn Hickel; great-grandchildren Cruz, Fletcher, Aliviyah, Zaida, and Zaxton; and sister-in-law Elda Perkins of Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin Folk; son Brad Folk; daughter Marsha Folk; and siblings, Travis James Perkins, Bobby Lee Perkins, Charlie Perkins, Betty Ruth Lahar, Clifford Perkins, Patsy Ann Thompson, Linda Sue White, and Johnny Mac Perkins.

&nbsp; Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, at Bushton First United Methodist Church with burial following in the Lorraine Baptist Cemetery.

John Steven True, age 32, passed away June 9, 2021 at Morris County Hospital. He was born October 18, 1988 in Council Grove to John and Loretta (Carpenter) True.

John graduated from Council Grove High School in 2008.&nbsp; He attended Emporia State University and due to health issues, he transferred to Butler County&nbsp;and graduated with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.

John was an extraordinary person. He always made the very best of any situation. He was a kind and caring individual, always putting others before himself. He loved to laugh, have a good time and spending time with his friends.&nbsp; He enjoyed his dad driving him and his friends in the van to attend concerts.&nbsp; He cherished his family and enjoyed time with his nieces and nephews. He also loved his dog, Chuck.

John was preceded in death by his Grandpa John True and Uncle Brad True. John is survived by his parents John R. and Loretta True of Council Grove; brothers Jake True of Council Grove and Cody True and wife Allison of Herington; sister Sara True of Council Grove; grandmothers Karen True and Betty Helton, both of Council Grove; &nbsp;nine nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. John will be sadly missed by all.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021, with services to begin at 11:00 a.m., all to be held at Sawyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery.&nbsp;

Maxine Marie Caron, age 96, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, Kansas. She was born on October 9, 1924 on a farm near Clyde, Kansas to Arthur and Thressa (Bottger) Trowbridge.

Maxine attended county school at Cramner School and Joines School. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1942. Maxine married Vincent Caron in Salina, Kansas on February 27, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Arthur Joseph Caron), and sister Marge Knox.

Maxine in survived by her son Steven and friend Carolyn, grandchildren Evan Caron and friend Minique (Portland, Oregon) and granddaughter Hallie Caron Whalen and husband Corey (Prineville, Oregon), nieces: Jeanne Mac Vicar of Los Altos, California; Mary Carlson (Richard) Clyde, Kansas, Diane Caron of Santa Fe, New Mexico, nephew: Dennis Knox (Judy) of Kansas City, Mike Caron of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Paul Caron of Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Maxine lived her entire life in Clyde, Kansas. She was a lifetime member of the Clyde Christian Church, Christian Women’s Fellowship, past worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Clyde V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was Jr. Supt. and Senior Supt. of the Christian Church, secretary of the Clyde Senior Citizens Center for six years and secretary of the Clyde V.F.W. Auxiliary. Maxine was a Grand Marshall of the Clyde Watermelon Festival Parade on September 3, 2016. She was a recipient of the Harold and Leola Woods Service Award given by the Clyde Area Foundation in 2015.

Maxine was a “soda jerk” working the soda fountain at&nbsp; Isaacson’s Drug Store while in high school. Following high school she worked at the Exchange Bank for several years. She then was a receptionist for Dr. Coulter in Clyde, Kansas. Later Maxine worked as a school secretary at the Clyde Grade School for 27 ½ years. Last, but not least, she worked as a receptionist at Chaput Mortuary in Clyde, Kansas for several years, retiring on March 15, 2016 at the age of 92. Alexine Chaput would have been proud.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Clyde, Kansas with Pastor Marty Singleton officiating.&nbsp; A private family burial of the cremains will take place late at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother Carl; and sister Gloria Ingermanson.&nbsp; Joy is survived by her children; grandchildren Travis Boss (Alyssa), Luke Curry (Jessica), Matt Curry, Andrew Callabresi (Melissa), and Amy Renz (Luke);&nbsp; three great-granddaughters, Ryan Lofton, Kendall Renz, and baby Renz due in October; sisters-in-law Enid Anderson and Helen Mattison; and many generations of nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She is a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria with a lunch following.&nbsp;

Hazel Marie (Cochran) Ranney, 91, Solomon, died Sunday, June 13, 2021 in Junction City.&nbsp; She was born July 16, 1929 on the farm at Little River, KS to Jerre and Zella (Miller) Cochran.

The family moved to Lamar in 1941 and Hazel graduated from the eighth grade there.&nbsp; Her freshman and sophomore years, she drove to Delphos to attend school.&nbsp; The family moved to Delphos in 1945 and she graduated from Delphos High School in 1947.&nbsp; Hazel worked for Baldwin Grocery Store for one year and at the State Bank of Delphos for ten years.&nbsp; Hazel and Duane Ranney were united in marriage in 1957 and they moved to San Diego, CA for three years.&nbsp; In 1960, they moved back to the farm. Hazel was the assistant activities director at Good Samaritan in Minneapolis for ten years.

Hazel was a member of the Delphos United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Women’s Auxiliary, and the Solomon Yoked Parish in Solomon.&nbsp; She also served as a board member for Love, INC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane; sister Norma Balaun; &nbsp;and grandson Levi Duane Shipley.

Survivors are her children Pennie (Lyle) Shipley, Linda (Robert) Aylward, and Diane (Larry) Moschera; grandchildren Mindy (Dusty) Newberry, Brittany Shipley, Matthew, John, Mark (Kendall), and Maggie Aylward, Natalie (Cooper) Jones, Adam Schklar, and Laura (Greg) Bradach; great-grandson Liam Isaac Ortiz; and three great-granddaughters, Raylie and Layken Newberry and Lexi Bradach.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16 in the Delphos Cemetery.&nbsp; A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Yoked Parish in Solomon.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.&nbsp;

Helen M. Johnson, 94, Minneapolis, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021.&nbsp; Helen was born March 17, 1927 in Republic County to Lyle and Grace (Goppert) Lash.

Helen was a 1945 graduate of Minneapolis High School. In 1948, she married Carrol Johnson and they farmed together northeast of Minneapolis.&nbsp; They had three children – Mary, Ruth and David.&nbsp; Carrol passed away in 1977 and Helen took over the management and operation of the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carrol, and her brother, Glenn Lash.

Survivors are her children Mary (David) Kimball of Elizaville, NY, Ruth (Darrell) Riekenberg of Bennington, and David (Kyla) Johnson of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Grace (Erik) Ure, Andrew Riekenberg, and John Carrol Johnson.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Nancy Carolyn Anderson, 87, of Lindsborg died Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Bethany Home.  Nancy was born January 26, 1934 in Manhattan, KS to the late Richard Paige-Herzig and the late Frances (Holmquist) Herzig.  She married David W. Anderson on August 25, 1954 at Salemsborg Lutheran Church. 

Nancy earned as associate's degree from the Asbury Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, and she worked as a registered nurse.  She was a member of Salemsborg Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of WELCA.

Survivors include her daughter Debra Johnson (Warren) of Lindsborg, KS; son Dana H. Anderson (Janice) of Edmond, OK; stepmother Ann Paige; half-brothers David, Michael, Brian, Doug, Richard, and Kevin Paige; half-sisters Susan Miller, Jennifer Blanchard, Deborah Harris, and Maria Steele; grandchildren Anna Anderson (Brenton), Tyler Johnson (Molly), Ashley Swan (Scott), Ian Johnson, and Emily Johansson (Petrus); great-grandchildren Brynna and Marik Anderson, August, Frances, and Rosemary Swan, and Otis and Harley Anne Johansson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David; and her brother Philip R. Herzig and his wife Gloria.

Anneliese Frieda Stewart, 91, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, while in the company of family members at the Cedars House. Anneliese was born in Berlin, Germany on June 27, 1929, a daughter of Ann (Braun) and Jonas Hans Krenz. Anneliese attended and graduated from the Berlin schools, Berlin, Germany. She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, KS. Anneliese was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked for Sterling Drug as a line tester and retired in 1991. She also worked at East Kansas Peter Pan and at Mr. Z's Donuts, much to the delight of her children. Anneliese enjoyed baking, cooking, and knitting for her family and the best part of her life was taking care of her family. She will also be remembered for her afternoon coffee time with her family and friends. She loved volunteering at the Cedars Coffee Shop while a member of the Cedars Village. Anneliese F. Krenz was united in marriage to Junior Dale Stewart on February 8, 1949 in Berlin, Germany. Their union would produce four children, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren by the time of her passing. Living her entire life in Lindsborg, Kansas, Abby attended St. Bridgett’s Little Kingdom Preschool/Pre-K, Soderstrom Elementary School, and Smoky Valley Middle School.

In her short life, Abby lived every minute to the fullest and was always at the speed of 100 miles an hour. She had just finished her 5th grade year at Smoky Valley Middle School. Excited to be a part of the band and orchestra, Abby played the clarinet and cello respectively. Abby also loved seeing her sister Jillian at school, running up and hugging her in front of other classmates! Giving the best hugs, always kind and loving, Abby put the needs of others before her own. Abby encouraged everyone to get along and be happy. Simply put, she was great at making people smile.

Abby was preceded in death by her father Phillip Hett, Grandaddy David Peck, great-grandparents Charlie and Jean Doudna, and great-grandpa Harry St. Peter.

Thomas George Curlo, 69, entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2021 at Mitchell County Health Systems in Beloit, Kansas with his two children by his side. He was born on June 13, 1951 in Loup City, NE to Frank and Mildred Curlo. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He grew up on a farm in Ashton, Nebraska with his two brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Loup City High School in 1970. Following graduation, he entered the United States Army where he was stationed in Alaska.

On September 7, 1974 he married Debra Lewandowski in Loup City, Nebraska. Together they had two children, Jeremy and Jessica. In 1988 they moved to Grant, Nebraska where he continued his career as a superintendent with Scoular Grain Elevator. In 2017 they moved to Beloit, Kansas where he lived out his days. He loved being surrounded by his grandkids; they were truly his pride and joy. They adored their papa Tom and together created many memories that will last a lifetime.

Tom had a passion for being outdoors, woodworking, and taking care of his garden. He also enjoyed yard work and landscaping. He was strong-willed and never liked to quit anything he started. He was a jack of all trades when it came to fixing things and his favorite tool was duct tape.

Tom was known for his selflessness, generous and giving spirit. He had a keen sense of humor with a heart of gold. He never knew a stranger and was a blessing to all those who knew and loved him.

His strong work ethic and faith showed that anything can be done. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge. Tom was a passionate caregiver and always put the needs of others before his own.

&nbsp;Tom and Deb enjoyed their time together and it was hard to mention one without the other. They connected easily with the people they met and the communities they lived in. Together they created many happy memories for themselves and those around them. Today they are with each other once again resting in eternal happiness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mildred Curlo and his beloved wife, Deb.

Survivors include brothers Jim (Jeanie) Curlo of Ashton, Nebraska; Donnie Curlo of Boelus, Nebraska; sisters Sharon (Dan) Astrones of Grand Island, Nebraska, Renee Gloe of Wood River, Nebraska; son Jeremy (Kristen) Curlo of Garden City; daughter Jessica (Garry) Lowry of Beloit. He leaves behind three adoring grandchildren - Jamie Curlo of Hays and Beckham and Bergan Lowry of Beloit.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Beloit. A rosary service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Church. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.

Robert Dale Blazek, son of William Blazek and Martha M. (Reynolds) Blazek was born October 3, 1942 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on June 10, 2021 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 78.

After graduating from high school in 1960 he enlisted and served with the United States Air Force.&nbsp; After being discharged from active duty he worked at OK Tire in Belleville, KS, from 1964 to 2006.

Robert was united in marriage to Sheri Lynn Heapes on August 6, 1967.&nbsp; In 1979 Robert and Sheri expanded their family by adopting 17-month-old Michael Dale Blazek.

Robert was well known to the Belleville Community for his work as a curator for the High Banks Hall of Fame and National Midget Auto Racing Museum.&nbsp; He officially retired in 2016 but continued to follow his passion for racing with his son Michael for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Martha Blazek, wife, Sheri L. Blazek.

He is survived by his son, Michael Blazek of Belleville, Kansas, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by Pastor Mark McGregor.

Military graveside services by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.

Friends may call on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 8 p. m. at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

William "Bill" Gross&nbsp;of Salina, KS, passed away on June 10, 2021 at 74 years old after his brave and courageous 17-month battle with relentless pancreatic cancer. In his characteristic "buckle down and do the hard work" spirit, Bill fought for life to the end with his family by his side, showing grace, tenacity, toughness, and good spirit. He will be forever missed as a devoted husband, dad, Pops, pilot and teacher, a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Bill began his inspiring life journey on January 21, 1947. His unmatched work ethic was learned on the family farm. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1965, and married the love of his life on June 17, 1967. Bill and Elaine grew up 1/2 mile down the dirt road from each other in Friend, KS. Elaine first fell in love with his horse, Buck, but quickly was smitten by the tall, dark and handsome cowboy! 

Bill and Elaine moved to Manhattan, KS where Bill attended Kansas State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1970, agriculture education in 1971 and his master’s in agriculture education in 1973. Bill spent two years at KSU in ROTC and then attended U.S. Army Basic Training at Fort Ord, CA with a total of six years serving in the United States military.

While a KSU student, Bill began his illustrious flight career as a student pilot in 1968, earning his certified flight instructor rating in 1970 and working as a CFI for Capital Air. Bill taught agriculture education at Riley County High School 1972-1973. From 1973-1986 he worked for Farmland Industries in animal feed and vet supply sales, getting acquainted with many small towns in the state of Kansas. Bill and Elaine welcomed their children Mikala in 1975 and Guy in 1976. 

In 1979, Bill became a designated flight examiner and spent many nights and weekends facilitating countless check-rides for years to come. He was an insurance sales rep for Farm Bureau 1986-1988. Bill became the chief flight instructor at Kansas Technical Institute in 1987. In 1991, KTI merged with Kansas State University College of Technology and Aviation where Bill remained chief pilot and professor for over 30 years, leading and impacting the lives of thousands of flight students. In 2021 the KSU flight program was renamed to The Bill Gross Professional Pilot Program.

While tirelessly working throughout the years to perfect his knowledge of aircraft, Bill earned a staggering number of ratings in airplanes, jets and helicopters. He had over 31,000 flight hours and earned the elite honor of being a designated master flight instructor nine times, as well as receiving the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which is earned by less than one percent of pilots. For Bill, all of that was just part of the job, and without question. The best part of the profession for him was guiding, teaching, mentoring and sometimes being a stand-in parent for his students. At age 74, Bill barely considered retiring because he still had a job to do - his calling and passion was to serve student pilots, and as he always said, he had the best view out his office window!

Bill’s most important place in life was that of a husband, father, and grandfather. Family was everything to Bill, and he lived that through the end. His greatest joy was being an amazing Pops to his five grandchildren, especially watching them play sports and taking them for rides on the John Deere tractor. Just as much, he loved sitting on the porch with his wife, having dinner with friends, and enjoying the simple things in life.

Bill was a diehard KSU Wildcat fan, holding season tickets for many years, frequently sharing his tickets and sweet tailgate parking spot with students and friends. In his rare downtime, he also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, always supporting the home team.

Beloved for his friendliness, steadfast devotion to family and students, vast aviation knowledge, and love of KSU Wildcats, Bill’s humble spirit and legacy live on through his life-long love and wife of 54 years, Elaine, his children Mikala (Greg January), and Guy (Kate Gross); grandchildren Austyne and Jett January, and Gunnar, Grayton and Kallia Gross; brothers Doug (Kay Gross), and Gene (Connie Gross); and extended family, many friends and students forever impacted by Bill’s goodness and wisdom. Bill’s parents, Ralph and Frances, and sister Susan and infant brother Warren, preceded him in death.

A special thank you to the countless family, friends, nurses, and doctors, for your love and support during this difficult journey.

He was born September 23, 1922, north of Durham on the family farm to William and Leah (Schuber) Hamm. He married Valera Graves October 1, 1948 in Florence. He was a farmer / rancher and drove school bus for many years. 

Survivors include: wife Valera Hamm of Durham; son James Gaylord (Myrna) Hamm of rural Tampa; daughters Bonnie Jean (Larry) Winter of Silver Lake, Barbara Fay (Ron) Williams of Glenpool, Oklahoma; brother Gus (Mildred) Hamm of Hillsboro; sisters Arlene Pankratz of Hillsboro, Marcella Mohn of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. 

Celebration of Life service 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at Durham Baptist Church in Durham officiated by Pastor Curtis Wiens. Interment in Durham Park cemetery rural Durham. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Gaylord worked as a farmer and rancher his entire life. He also was a school bus driver for Hillsboro-Durham-Lehigh school district for 30 years. He was a member of the Durham Baptist Church and a Lions Club Member.

Gaylord loved the Lord, his family and farming. He loved to laugh, even at his own pranks. He was still driving the tractor, working ground at the age of 96. He was known in the later years for driving around and around and around in his pickup truck, checking the crops, cattle and water tanks. He enjoyed watching the wildlife while he waited for the tank to fill.

Gaylord is survived by his wife of 72 years, Valera Hamm, daughters Bonnie Winter (Larry) of Silver Lake, KS, Barbara Williams (Ron) of Glenpool, OK, and son James Hamm (Myrna) of rural Tampa; his sisters Arlene Pankratz and Marcella Mohn and brother Gus Hamm (Mildred) all of Hillsboro.

Gaylord adored his grandchildren Pat Winter, Ginger Robert (Matt), April Conner (Thad), Deron Williams, Brian Williams, Sara Goldsby, Lucas Hamm (Amber) and Morganne Sobba (Adam); great-grandchildren Madison Swann (Mason), Parker Winter, Mercedes Williams, Portlynn Williams, Carter Robert, Kaden Goldsby, MacKenzie Goldsby, Jaxson Hamm, Brooks Hamm, and a great-great-grandson expected in July.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Bill and Leah Hamm, brothers-in-law Paul Pankratz, Oliver Mohn and Evan Wendt; sister-in-law Ida Mae Wendt; nephews Steve Wendt, Bob Haug, nieces Sherilyn (Pankratz) Kadel, Jacquie (Wendt) Sjodahl and great-nephew Christopher Mohn.

Gaylord was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed and so fondly remembered. We are assured Gaylord is happy in heaven farming until his heart is content.

Duane McCall, 85, of McPherson, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 while in the company of his wife at McPherson Hospital. Duane was born in Woodston, Kansas on November 1, 1935, a son of Hattie Rose (Covey) and Leland William McCall. Duane attended the Woodston Grade School, and graduated from Woodston High School, Woodston, Kansas. He then attended an electronics trade school in Topeka, Kansas for a year. He was a member of Harmony Christian Church McPherson, where he was baptized. Duane McCall was united in marriage to Roberta May Shields on September 23, 1960 at St. Francis, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in Glade, Kansas. They were blessed with six children -&nbsp; four sons and two daughters, Rick, Coral, Tim, Mitch, Terry, and Randy. The couple moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1981 and lived their until 1986 when the couple moved to McPherson, Kansas. Duane has always been a truck driver, starting out by working for his father hauling livestock. He had his own trucking business called McCall Trucking for many years before going to work for Farmland and later worked for Cenex in which he retired from. It was while he was driving for Farmland, his fellow truckers gave him the nick name "Pokey." After retirement he drove for Ryan Reiff hauling grain until he was 80 years old. Duane enjoyed driving a truck, reading, watching western shows on TV, listening to country music, especially the Diamond W. Wranglers, traveling and going on cruises, rescuing Boston Terriers, visiting and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 60 years, Roberta McCall, of McPherson, Kansas; his children Rick McCall, of Culver, Kansas; Coral McCall, of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Timothy McCall and wife Karen of Derby, Kansas; Mitch McCall of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Terry Plunkett and husband Alan of Carlton, Kansas; and Randy McCall of Grove, Oklahoma; his 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; other relatives and a host of friends Duane was preceded in death by his parents Hattie and Leland McCall; and his sisters Delores McCall and Darlene LeFort. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson. She was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson. Through the years Vivian was a owner-operator of her own hairdressing salon out of her home for several years before working and managing for Beau Mart Salon. Then worked as a realtor for Duguid Insurance and Real Estate both of McPherson, Kansas. Vivian was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Hospital Auxiliary, Professional Women's Business Club, Friends and Counsel and was on the board of the McPherson Opera House. Vivian enjoyed flower gardening, birds, playing bridge, music, arranging parties and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Vivian M. Bird was united in marriage to Kenneth Duane Embers, Sr. on January 11, 1942 at the First Baptist Church, McPherson, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in Wichita, Kansas for their first year. This union was blessed with the birth of two children, a son and a daughter, Ken and Jan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. After arthritis took his ability to participate in these outdoor activities, he enjoyed traveling to varies parts of the country.

He married Barbara (Parks) Guldner on January 14, 1961, and she survives at the home. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Shepherd. Other survivors are his daughter Deborah (Guldner) Harrison of Albuquerque, NM, son Don Guldner of Abilene, KS, grandchildren, Kristen Scott, Kyle Harrison, Kalyssa Engles, Amberlee Gleason, Chelsi Allison and Andrea Ochoa and eight great-grandchildren.

Clarence was a former member of the Clay Center Eagles Lodge and a long time member of the Clay Center Elks Lodge where he served in numerous positions on both the state and local level. Clarence joined the Elks while living in Lawrence, Kansas before moving to Clay Center, KS in 1972.

She was born July 11, 1945 to Leonard Scott and Helen (Ziegler) McDiffett. She graduated from Alta Vista High School. Linda worked as a nurse’s aide for several years.&nbsp; She retired from Merry X-Ray Company as an office manager. She later relocated to Manhattan to be close to family. &nbsp;&nbsp;Linda enjoyed traveling with her sister throughout the years. She loved her nieces and nephews and spending time with her family. Linda was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs and Royals.Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Greg McDiffett and Scotty McDiffett, and sister-in-law Patti McDiffett.She is survived by her sister Beverly Roeser, of Manhattan, brother Mickey McDiffett and wife Lori, of Alta Vista;&nbsp; 11 nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Deb McDiffett;&nbsp; uncle Virgil Ziegler and aunt Jan McDiffett.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Alta Vista Cemetery. Linda will lie in state prior to the service from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Sawyer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Cancer Research Fund, Kansas State University Foundation, P.O.
