Helen May (Whitesell) Warnica, born to George H. and Nina S. Lacy Whitesell on Sept. 5, 1928 at Waterville, Kansas, and is one of eight children. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: George Jr., Robert L., Melvin D., and Wayne L.; and her sisters: Jean Fairchild, Marie Davis, and one who died in infancy. Helen attended rural schools in the first two years at Waterville, KS. The family moved to Frankfort in 1936 and she attended 3rd through 8th and went to Frankfort High School. She married John Reich in 1946 to which five children were born—four sons and a daughter: Ron of Manhattan, KS; Terry of Payson, AZ; Tom of Heneryetta, OK; Jack of Abilene, KS; Anette Wright of Athens, GA. Helen worked as a clerk in a drug store, also as a waitress. After her daughter was born she had an in-home daycare in Manhattan for nine years. She worked at Cole's Department Store and JC Penny’s as a clerk and at the Wonder Bread thrift store in Manhattan. After John passed away in 1976, she moved back to Frankfort in 1978. She met her husband Emmett and they married in 1982. They had ten wonderful years together. He went to be with the Lord in April 1992. While in Frankfort, she belonged to the Frankfort United Methodist Church, RSVP for 21 years. She helped with Rotary dinners and funeral dinners. Helen belonged to American Legion Auxiliary 25 years, and Red Hats. She baked pies and goodies for neighbors and friends, and was known in Frankfort as the “Pie Lady.” She sold her home in Frankfort in 2013 and moved to Abilene, KS to be closer to family. Helen has 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, She entered rest Feb. 20, 2021 in Abilene.

Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Barrett Cemetery near Frankfort, Kansas with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Friends may sign the register book until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dickinson County or to Meals on Wheels and may be sent in care of the funeral home.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Christopher was a great concrete, construction worker who loved to do disc golf, fishing, metal detecting and collecting old coins.

He is survived by daughter Lindsey Jones, wife Heather Shields-Jones, sister Jennifer Wolf, and mother-in-law Shari Shields, all of Salina; aunt Jamie Smith and cousin Jesse Smith, both of Bennington; friend Tyler Reno and all the disc golf people.

Christopher was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Carla Jones.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Lakewood Park.

Prior to moving to Salina, Marian worked for several years at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, NE.&nbsp; She and then husband Robert Loren Saltzman owned and operated the City Café in North Bend, NE.&nbsp; Upon moving to Salina, she became a homemaker until she and Robert bought and operated the Green Lantern Truck stop at the corner of I-70 and Ohio St. in Salina, KS. After retirement Marian worked part time as a file clerk for the Saline County Attorney’s Office.&nbsp; She had been a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Eastern Star.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Saltzman, sisters Florence Klinger, Luella McBride, Blanche Ford, Maxine Deckard, Dorothy Lampson, a brother Bud Ford, all in NE. &nbsp;

She is survived by sons Robert Lee, Bobby Saltzman of Salina, Donald E., Donnie (Terri) Saltzman of Glen Elder, daughters, Carol J (Steve) Milleson of Falun, and Verna L. (Ron) Hulett of Smolan.&nbsp; 12 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and her sister Virginia Huffman of Decatur, NE.&nbsp; A special thank you to Shelly Hindman and family and to Jacque Backus.

Marian wished to be cremated.&nbsp; Due to Covid-19 a service/celebration of life will be held at a later date. &nbsp;

Kenley Joe German, 86, the son of Kenneth Hadley German and Ellen Elizabeth (Shull) German was born March 9, 1934 in Glen Elder, Kansas and passed away on February 18, 2021 in Deshler, NE.

Kenley grew up and attended the local public schools in Glen Elder, KS and later attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS.

On June 6, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lela Don Fox and to this union three children were born:&nbsp; Craig, Deborah, and Randall.&nbsp;

After leaving Kansas State, Kenley worked in Concordia, KS at a creamery, making ice cream for a couple of years.&nbsp; He began his long railroad career with the Missouri Pacific Railroad.&nbsp; Shortly after, Kenly was hired as an agent/operator on the Rock Island Railroad, working in numerous station stops across Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado, including Mahaska, KS, before being assigned as the last depot agent at Deshler, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1977, Kenley and Lela Don moved to Colby, KS as he continued his work with the Rock Island Railroad.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After the Rock Island shut down, he finished his career with the Union Pacific.

In 2004, Kenley and Lela Don moved to Deshler, NE to be close to their family.&nbsp;&nbsp; He continued his special love of sports, especially basketball and followed his grandkids’ games and supported the local school teams. He and Lela Don shared a passion for researching the artifacts and history of the military and stage stations of the Smokey Hills Trail.&nbsp;&nbsp; They also enjoyed discovering their family genealogy and taking care of the family farm in Agenda, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp; Over the years, Kenley loved adding to his many collections, especially the coins, pens and railroad memorabilia.&nbsp;

Kenley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lela Don German, two infant sisters, his sister, Erma Luckey, his son, Randall German, his daughter-in-law, Shelley German, and great grandson, Evan Zucker.

He is survived by one son, Craig German of Edgar, NE;&nbsp; one daughter, Deborah (David) Zucker of Deshler, NE; daughter-in-law, Cathy German of Raymore, MO;&nbsp; 7 grandchildren, Jeffery (Kristi) Zucker,&nbsp; Michael (Nicole) Zucker, Stephanie (Andrew) Frager, Levi (Beth) German, Lynda (Jonathan) O’Dell, Richard (Carter) German, and Raymond (Carolyn) German; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers,&nbsp; Richard (Millie) German of Springfield, MO and Rodney (Maureen) German of Ft. Worth, TX; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation was selected and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Inurnment will be at the Zion Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.

Mary Lou Skinner’s life began on April 8, 1942 to Garry Leroy and Virgie Lemoine (Maltbie) Skinner. Mary Lou was the third of four children and the first daughter. She attended schools in Peabody, Cedar Point, and Florence, graduating from Florence High School in 1960.&nbsp; She married Elmer Eugene Schaffer on August 18, 1960 and they spent the first years of their marriage moving about the United States following Gene’s power line construction work. They eventually settled in Florence, Kansas and had four children. Mary Lou worked for many years at Town and Country Café, Sunflower Rock Quarry and Florence Rock. Even later, she was an avid antique shopper and dealer, with a booth at T.C’s What Not Shop in Marion. She married Marvin Phillips in October 2005 and moved to Marion, Kansas. She attended the Florence Christian Church for most of her life and then attended the Marion Christian Church in later years. She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Marion and enjoyed traveling with groups.

They eventually settled in Florence, Kansas and had four children. Mary Lou worked for many years at Town and Country Café, Sunflower Rock Quarry and Florence Rock. Even later, she was an avid antique shopper and dealer, with a booth at T.C’s What Not Shop in Marion. She married Marvin Phillips in October 2005 and moved to Marion, Kansas. She attended the Florence Christian Church for most of her life and then attended the Marion Christian Church in later years. Ronald “Ronnie” D. Dorman, age 81, entered into rest on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born November 14, 1939 in Haddam, Kansas to James R. and Elsie (Cornwell) Dorman.

Ronnie was a 1958 graduate of Haddam High School.

On December 17, 1958 he married Janet A. Lowell in Fort Dodge, Iowa.&nbsp; To this Union 4 children were born Tamra, Karmin, Brian and Shelly.

Ronnie was a lifetime farmer in the Cloud County Community.&nbsp; He worked in his younger years at the United States Gypsum company in Fort Dodge, Iowa.&nbsp; Ronnie was a member of the American Legion Post #76, Past member of Moose Lodge, Saddle Club all of Concordia.&nbsp;

He enjoyed playing cards (4 pt. pitch), farming and most of all he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Janet, of the home, 3 children, Tamra Lehman (Maurice), Crowley, Tx; Karmin Brendel (Tom), Rolla, MO; Brian Dorman (Michelle), Concordia, KS; 3 brothers, Jim Dorman (Jan) Canadian, TX; Glen Dorman, Dayton, IA; Jack Dorman (Ardy), Harcout, IA; 2 sisters, Marilyn Dunn (Jack), Phillipsburg, KS; Betty Herron (Mike), Gowrie, IA; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elsie, daughter, Shelly Dorman, 2 brothers, Sam and Loren Dorman, sister, Illa Fern Fielder.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 from 1-8 pm with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later time.

Delmar was raised in Clay County.&nbsp; He served in the US Army during WWII seeing action in the Philippines.&nbsp; Following the war, Delmar returned to Clay center, met, and married Marlee Affolter on October 10, 1948.&nbsp; They farmed in Clay County and Delmar milked Holsteins from 1951 to 1971.&nbsp; Marlee preceded him in death on March 17, 2003.&nbsp; Delmar married Sharon (Wallis) Klassen on November 1, 2008.&nbsp; He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gideons International, USD 379 School Board and the Clay Center American Legion.&nbsp; Delmar help build over 50 churches on mission trips to Central America.&nbsp; He was also preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Luke Yarrow.

Carlene is survived by her daughter, Kristine Kiser of Abilene. Grandson, Aaron Barrett of Lawrence, Kansas, daughter-in-law, Valorie Kiser of Medford, Oklahoma, step-grandsons, Dexter, Dustin and Clay of Medford, Oklahoma and brother-in-law, David Brubaker of Hutchinson, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Taylor, son, Ken Kiser, parents and sisters, Jolene Householder and Goldie Ann Brubaker. 

The family has chosen cremation. No services are planned at this time. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Papillion, NE -&nbsp;Anita Kay Scott, daughter of Carl E. Broils and Neoma (Naomi) Kibble-Broils, was born on November 27, 1939 and transitioned on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Papillion Manor (Papillion, Nebraska) surrounded by her family.

She was born in Council Grove, Kansas and lived in Russell, Kansas with her parents until they moved to Salina, Kansas in March of 1942. She attended Salina Public Schools and was a student at the Marymount College in Salina, Kansas. Affectionately known by and called Neda Kay, she loved music and to sing. She was wed on December 27, 1958 to Alexander E. Scott. They had no children.

Neda Kay was a life-long member of the Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Salina, Kansas. Her profound sense of love for God and the Church was clearly manifested in the way she committed her life in Christian service. She served tirelessly, in many Official capacities, until she was physically unable to. Over the years she assisted the Pastors, was the Church Secretary, Treasurer, Women’s Missionary Society President, and Choir Director. She represented Allen Chapel through a multitudes of Annual Conferences and varying other connectional ministries as the Delegate for Allen Chapel. While residing at the Papillion Manor she continued to attend Chapel Services and to share her love of singing.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. She leaves to mourn her two sisters; Arlene Broils-Glenn (George) of Topeka, Kansas; Irma Broils-Martin (Johnnie) of Papillion, Nebraska; her Sister-in-law Ethel Scott of Spring Grove, VA.; Brother-in-law Carroll Scott of Spring Grove, VA; two nieces, four great nieces, two great-great nieces, four nephews, six great nephews; six great-great nephews; and a host of family and friends.

There will be a private service held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, KS. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary from 4 until 8 pm Monday evening where the family will receive callers from 5 until 7 pm that evening.

She represented Allen Chapel through a multitudes of Annual Conferences and varying other connectional ministries as the Delegate for Allen Chapel. While residing at the Papillion Manor she continued to attend Chapel Services and to share her love of singing.She was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in WWII.&nbsp; He and Rosanne Walters were married August 12, 1962 in Junction City.&nbsp; He earned a master’s degree from Kansas State University and he taught Industrial Engineering there for 6.5 years.&nbsp; Corliss also taught for a short time and the Beloit Vo Tech.&nbsp; He was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Delphos Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.

Survivors are his wife, Rosanne; son, Craig; and daughter, Cynthia (Terry) Beall.

Mettlen, daughter of Levi Raymond and Ruth Esther (Corsaut) Sprinkle, was born August 18, 1918 in Salina, Kansas. Ruth attended school in Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1936. She graduated from Hutchinson (Community) Junior College in 1938. On Christmas Day, December 25, 1938, she married Richard L. Mettlen, her high school sweetheart. They were married 76 years. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, member and past president of Chapter EU, P.E.O., member of Eastern Star, member of McPherson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and member of American Legion Auxiliary. She served as a director on the Home State Bank &amp; Trust Board for 12 years. Ruth was the creator and designer of gorgeous floral arrangements, which she signed by attaching a “Ruth Original” tag to each unique piece. Ruth was very competitive and she played golf for 45 years, participating in tournaments and Ladies’ Golf Association activities. She scored three holes-in-one during her golfing career. Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, and siblings Helen Fuller, Charles Sprinkle, and Carolyn Gordon. Gilbert retired from the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Ellsworth American Legion Post 174. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ellsworth. Gilbert was one of the first welders in the Ellsworth High School FFA and continued that passion as a welder in the Navy. He loved being on the farm in Ellsworth County, was proud of his Navy service, and was a proud Democrat who loved political discussion.

Gilbert is survived by his daughter, Sarah Crampton of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He attended the University of Texas in Tyler, Texas. He worked in commercial refrigeration for Kroger’s in Texas. Recently he moved to Whitewater to be near family. He attended the Federated Church in Whitewater. He enjoyed driving around the countryside seeing all of the wide-open spaces in Kansas. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and target practice.

His loving family includes his parents, Scott and Katherine McCoy of Whitewater; sister and her husband, Amber and Kris Quintana of Mineola, Texas; paternal grandmother, Virginia McCoy of Whitewater; maternal grandfather, Ernie Egger of Garnett, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Frances Lee Egger of Augusta, Kansas; seven nieces and nephews, Aspen, Bella, Shelby, Maddy, Abel, Jericho and River. And his beloved chihuahua Boo, who he was never without.

Brandon was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin. He passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 33 years old. He was preceded in death by his sister, Heather McCoy in 2007 and his paternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” McCoy.

Jim was a lifetime Farmer, Rancher, and Truck Driver.

He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, and visiting with people, he never met a stranger.

Jim was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose Club, and Elks Club all of Concordia, and past member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora.

A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; Family will greet friends after the Rosary Service.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora, Kansas with Fr. David Metz officiating. William A. Lebert, 84, of Douglas, Wyoming died Saturday, February 6, 2021. 

Formerly of Salina, Kansas, Born December 26, 1936 to Alvin &amp; Doris Lebert. Bill attended Brookville High School later attended Brown Mackey College of Business in Salina where shortly after he started his long career in financial banking. September 1958 he married Kay Helen Armstrong together they had two children, Susan and Rodney.

In 2001 a large storm destroyed their home in Hoisington, KS, and then the couple relocated to Esterbrook,WY. where they stayed until health problems forced them off the mountain. 

Bill is survived by his son Rodney (Lori) Lebert of Douglas, WY and Susan (Larry) Aiken of Lawrence, KS, one sister Elizabeth (Jim) Cole of Salina, KS. Three Grandchildren, Cody &amp; Ryan Lebert and Jacob Aiken, several nieces &amp; nephews and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Kay.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 with a funeral service held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20th, all at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery. &nbsp;

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
