Hillsboro - Bob Seibel, 86, passed away October 25, 2021 at Salem Home in Hillsboro. He was born March 9, 1935 in Newton to Andrew and Clara (Wittmeyer) Seibel. He married Betty Friesen April 7, 1958 at Parkview Church in Hillsboro.

Life Sketch Taken from the Funeral Bulletin Robert George (Bob) Seibel was born March 9, 1935 to Andrew and Clara Seibel of rural Marion County, Kansas. Weighing 4 lb. 9 oz. at birth, his little body was reduced to less than 4 lb. in a time when many that small did not survive. He later welcomed a sister, Joyce. A foster brother, Jim Swogger, completed the family. Bob received his elementary education at the Thorp and Aulne Grade Schools and graduated from Marion High School.

As a youngster he often amused himself by taking his or his sister’s toys apart and putting them back together with amazing accuracy. He helped hoe the big potato patch, often walked to the pasture to get the cows and helped milk them morning and evening. He fed the hogs and poured out the chicken’s water at night in the winter so it wouldn’t freeze. He always enjoyed helping load bundles of grain together with neighbors at threshing time. When he was older and they quit farming with horses, he drove the tractor, plowing, cultivating, combining, etc. When he was given a job to do, he did it responsibly. He had pride in his work. Bob’s best friend growing up was always his dog. He spent many hours with him and even made a harness for his dog so he could pull a wagon, often hauling firewood to the house after school. Bob would make box traps to catch rabbits, walking 1 ½ miles before school to check his traps. He sold the rabbits for 15 cents undressed or 25 cents dressed, finally saving up enough money to buy a football. In his early teenage years, Bob accepted Christ as his personal savior during a series of revival meetings at the Aulne Methodist Church of which he became a member until 1958 when his membership was transferred to the Parkview Church. He was very active in the Parkview Church serving on the board of trustees for many years, which he greatly enjoyed. He drew the initial design which eventually became the north Sunday school wing and activity center addition. He spent many volunteer hours landscaping and keeping the church grounds beautiful. Following graduation from high school in 1953 Bob began what would be the start of a lifelong career. Although he excelled in math, academics were not his strong point but “common sense” served him well. He worked as a machinist at Paramount Products in Peabody with a starting wage of $1.05 per hour and while working there was chosen to receive post-high school education in his field from the Boeing Company. In 1960 he began work at Hesston Corporation as a tool and die maker, later becoming a tool designer. In 1979 he became a partner in Marion Die and Fixture as a tooling engineer and was head of design, sales and purchasing. He also enjoyed serving on the advisory board of the Newton Vo-Tech School. In July of 1957 Bob met a young Hillsboro girl, Betty Friesen, who was working at the Dari-Ette. Their swift courtship began and they were engaged in October and got married in the Parkview Church on April 7, 1958. Bob and Betty were blessed with three children, Mark in 1963, Tonja in 1965 and Doug in 1967. The family’s favorite vacation location was Colorado and they created many wonderful memories during the years the family was growing up. Bob retired from Marion Die and Fixture at the end of 1999 and he and Betty began a 15-year career as tour directors for Prudent Tours, directing a total of 75 tours throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. They also traveled extensively to foreign countries in order to visit family. These two travel opportunities and several cruises resulted in allowing them to visit all 50 states and a total of 18 foreign countries. One of Bob’s greatest joys in retirement was spending time with his two grandchildren, Kristen and Andrew when they would come for part of the summers while growing up. He loved taking them fishing, building stilts for them, flying kites or just playing in the back yard. On October 6, 2021, he was diagnosed with a massive sub-dural hematoma and his life drastically changed. Following a brief stay in the excellent care of the staff at Salem Home, he peacefully left this life to enter his new life in heaven very early Monday, October 25, 2021. His wife, Betty and sister, Joyce were at his side. Preceding him in death are his parents Andrew and Clara Seibel, foster brother James Swagger, and brother-in-law LaVern Funk. His loving family includes wife, Betty of Hillsboro; son Mark and wife, Patty Seibel of Ashville, North Carolina and their children: Kristen and husband, Michael Buck of Greensboro, North Carolina and Andrew Seibel of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter Tonja and husband, Michael Nansel of Rockville, Maryland; son Doug and wife, Barbara Seibel of Greenville, South Carolina; and sister Joyce Funk of Hillsboro.

She retired from Nations Pizza &amp; Food. Anna was born on June 5, 1947, in Durango, Mexico, the daughter of Felipe´ Galarza and Maria E. Santillano. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson. Survivors include: three children, Oscar Galindo (Eva Galindo) of Temecula, CA, Anna Galindo (John Pyle) of El Dorado, KS, and Carmen Schowengerdt-Moore (Derek Moore) of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Oscar Galindo, Jr., Alex Galindo, Naomi Galindo, Jason Schowengerdt, Jr., Rosario Schowengerdt, and Derek Moore, Jr.; and many extended family and friends. Donald Dean Sorenson, 72, of McPherson, KS passed away on October 26, 2021. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He raised his family in Holcomb, KS, residing there for almost 30 years before retiring, and returning to his childhood hometown of McPherson. Don was born July 9, 1949, to Chloris (Grout) and Maurice Sorenson. He grew up in McPherson where he graduated from high school in 1968. He was part of the MHS basketball team, where his adoration of Bullpup basketball and the Roundhouse began. He continued his education at Emporia State University and graduated with a Business Degree. Throughout his childhood, ‘Donnie’ spent much of his time at his family’s business, United Dairies, where he delivered milk to the residents and businesses of McPherson. His love for dairy and ice cream led him to his soon-to-be wife, Cora, as they first met at Dairy Queen, where she was working. They began dating and later were married on June 8, 1974. After uniting in marriage, they moved to southwest Kansas and began growing their family. Don worked in the oil and gas industry for almost 30 years, but his true passion was found in his family. He was a volunteer coach for many youth sports teams. He found great joy in watching his own children participate in athletics and extra-curricular activities. Don’s grandchildren knew that their Papa always kept his freezer stocked with ice cream— usually with his favorite treat, Drumsticks. MCPHERSON - Amy Laynae Archer, 48, passed away October 27, 2021 surrounded by all of her family. She was born July 19, 1973 in Great Bend, the daughter of Greg and Yvonne Zimmerman Sumner. Amy graduated high school in 1993 and worked as a CNA in high school. After high school, Amy was united in marriage to Mark Archer on September 18, 1993 where they then moved to McPherson, KS to start their life together. She enjoyed playing recreational volleyball each week. Amy had a vast social network. She would frequently call to visit her family and friends along with very frequent visits to all the neighbors.

Survivors include her husband Mark, of the home in McPherson; parents, Norcatur, KS; children, Andrew (significant other, Courtney), Norcatur, KS and Gracie Archer, Ellinwood, KS; a granddaughter, Emery; brother, Todd Sumner, Norcatur, KS; sister, Michelle Homolka, Ellsworth, KS; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a nephew.

Durham - Arlene Pankratz, 97, passed away October 28, 2021 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She was born June 15, 1924 to William and Leah (Schuber) Hamm of Durham, Kansas. 

She married Paul Pankratz February 11, 1945 in Durham. 

Survivors include: son Ken Pankratz of rural Durham; daughter Donna (Tim) Diener of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren; brother Gus Hamm of Hillsboro; sister Marcella Mohn of Hillsboro.

Predeceased by: husband, Paul Pankratz in 2011; daughter Sherilyn Kadel in 2014; brother Gaylord Hamm.

She passed away October 28, 2021 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Durham with her brothers Gaylord and Gus and sister Marcella. She attended Red Top Elementary School and graduated from Durham High School in 1943. After high school she was employed at Franz Grocery in Durham for wo years. At age 16 she accepted Jesus as her savior and was baptized and joined the Durham Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death. She served as a Sunday school teacher, scripture memory director and was a member of Kings Daughters. Arlene was also the church custodian for more than 35 years. On February 11, 1945, Arlene married Paul Pankratz. They made their home west of Durham for two years and then moved to the Pankratz family farm northwest of Durham where they lived for 46 years before semi-retiring and moving to Hillsboro. They were married 66 years and had three children – Ken, Sherilyn and Donna. Arlene spent many hours in her yard and garden and canning the produce she grew. She also cared for the chickens, milked the cows and helped with many other farm chores. She served as a 4-H leader and was a member of EHU. She was a Hillsboro school bus driver for 21 years and also worked as a custodian. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and was always willing to help out a neighbor. In her retirement years she made quilts for her family and did much sewing. Arlene is survived by son Ken of rural Durham, daughter Donna (Tim) Diener of Hillsboro, son-in-law David (Jean) Kadel of Randall; sister Marcella Mohn and brother Gus (Mildred) Hamm both of Hillsboro; granddaughters Jennifer (Jeff) Price of Arvada, CO, Holly (John) Burleson of Oklahoma City, OK, Emily (Kent ) Nichols of Hesston and Marissa (Shane) Slief of Wichita; greatgrandchildren Austin, Alex and Ashton Price, Olivia Foster, Jack and Claire Nichols, Hudson Slief; sisters-in-law Valera Hamm of Durham and Althea Zimmerman of Weaubleau, MO. Twila Jo Sullivan, 86, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born December 21, 1934 in Ellsworth, KS to Carl and Theresa (Sebesta) Gray.

Twila was a longtime resident of Geneseo, KS where she was a high school home economics and Spanish teacher. She later taught at Little River after Geneseo High School closed. After her teaching career, Twila prepared delicious meals for folks at the Geneseo Senior Center. 

She married Wayne Sullivan in Geneseo on February 11, 1978. Twila was a talented piano player, but admitted she was never as good as her sister, Carla. She was also a violinist in the Kansas State University Orchestra while attending college. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes and costumes for her co-workers and their families. Twila was a “shopaholic” and what pleased her most was giving gifts to others.&nbsp;She had a wonderful enthusiasm and will be greatly missed.

Twila is survived by her daughters Jeanelle Craft (Michael) of Coolidge, AZ and Joycelyn Dorsey (Mary Van Antwerp) of Albuquerque, NM; stepdaughters Pam Sullivan of Salina, KS and Shelly Michael (Brian) of Bennington, KS; stepson Mike Sullivan of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren Jaclyn Camarotti (Teo) of Manhattan, KS and Paula Olson of Wichita, KS; sister Carla Christians of Marquette, KS; niece Darla Brin (Mark) of Salina; and nephews Davis Laughlin (Donna) of Benton, KS&nbsp;and Daric Laughlin (Karen) of Overland Park, KS.

On October 27, Terry Shamburg was surrounded by friends and family in his childhood home, when he went to be with the Lord.

Born on May 11, 1950, in Beloit, KS to parents Eugene (Gene) Shamburg and Norma Shamburg (Emmert), Terry’s childhood was spent on a fourth-generation family farm. Life on the farm was always full of adventures. Terry loved hunting birds and rabbits with his BB gun, riding horses with his sisters, taking bicycle trips on the dirt roads and trying to make family pets out of many different farm animals.

As soon as he was old enough, Terry started working side by side with his father. During this time he developed his love for the land, leading to a farming and ranching career, a passion Terry would later instill in his own son, Luke.

Terry’s formal education started at Randall Elementary where he attended first through fourth grade. He transferred to Beloit in fifth grade and graduated from Beloit High School with the class of 1968. Terry excelled as an athlete and would remain a lifelong supporter of Beloit athletics and an ardent fan of Kansas (KU) basketball.&nbsp; After high school, he attended Fort Hays University.

On October 1, 1983, he married the love of his life, Lynn Newell. They were married for 38 years and raised two daughters, Kendra and Lindsey, and one son, Luke. A devoted husband and dedicated father, his long hours in the field never prevented him from prioritizing family. He coached his children in sports, went to every activity they participated in and supported each accomplishment. His children adored him. His love for the Lord was evident in everything he did. He led by example and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.&nbsp;

Terry is preceded in death by his father Gene Shamburg, by his mother Norma Shamburg, father-in-law Robert (Bob) Newell and brother-in-law Robert (Shawn) Newell.

 Terry is survived by his wife Lynn (Newell) Shamburg, children Kendra Shamburg (Overland Park, KS), Lindsey Shamburg (Overland Park, KS) and Luke Shamburg (Beloit, KS). He is also survived by his sisters Sondra (Barry) Wineinger of Cuero, Texas, Karen (Tom) Stover of Beloit, KS and Sharon (Jim) Krone of Atchinson, KS. Extended family includes Bonnie Newell, Andra (Rodney) Hancock, Teri File, Lance Newell, Susan Newell and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 1 at the Beloit First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.

Beverly S. “Bev” Olson, 92, died peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2021 in Salina. She was born May 28, 1929 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Ervin J. and Geneva D. Steiner.&nbsp; 

She was joined in marriage with Dr. C. L. “Chuck” Olson, on December 29, 1951.&nbsp; Together they actively served their church and community for over fifty years and raised a family of four children, twelve grandchildren, and nine greatgrandchildren.

Bev grew up on a farm in Harvey County, graduated from Newton High School, attended Emporia State Teachers College and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a bachelor’s degree in music.

Bev was a member and leader in Salina Federation of Music Clubs – Treble Clef, Salina Symphony Guild, SAI Music Fraternity, PEO, and Helianthus. She directed choirs and was the director of music ministries at the First United Methodist Church for over 40 years.&nbsp; She taught many aspiring vocal music students and accompanied them in competitions throughout the state. &nbsp;

Of most importance to her was her role as mother, wife and grandmother. She made time for family, especially grandchildren. Among their favorite times together were vacations to Colorado and Christmas caroling at the homes of friends. The Olsons were named Kiwanis Kansas Family of Builders in 1974 and Kansas Federation of Music Club’s Family of the Year in 1976.

She is survived by her daughter Nancilee Jones and husband Daniel, both retired teachers in the Salina Public Schools, and their three children Ashley and Erik Wisner (daughter Cece) of Lawrence, Bryce of Lawrence and Emily of Atlanta, Georgia; son Chuck of Wichita, his wife Sarah and their three children, Stephan and his wife Callie of Roeland Park, Elizabeth Hogan and her husband Ryan (children Lucas and Cara) of Olathe, and Caroline Kimbrough and her husband Alex (daughter Ellie) of Rochester, Minnesota; daughter Maribeth Blunt of Leawood and her three children, son Colin and wife Erin of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter Abby Blunt of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Hillary York and her husband Spenser (daughter Weston) of Nashville, Tennessee; and son Evan and his wife Susan of The Woodlands, Texas, and their three children, Eliot and his wife Hannah of Houston, Katherine and her husband Trevor (daughters Sydney and Joey) of Munich, Germany, and Grace Casey and her husband Dan (children Zion and Ada Grace) of Houston.

The family would like to express special appreciation to the management and staff of the Presbyterian Manor of Salina for their compassionate care during her residence there.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 1, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church in Salina with Rev. Richard Fitzgerald officiating.&nbsp;

L. “Chuck” Olson, on December 29, 1951.&nbsp; Together they actively served their church and community for over fifty years and raised a family of four children, twelve grandchildren, and nine greatgrandchildren.Bev grew up on a farm in Harvey County, graduated from Newton High School, attended Emporia State Teachers College and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a bachelor’s degree in music.Bev was a member and leader in Salina Federation of Music Clubs – Treble Clef, Salina Symphony Guild, SAI Music Fraternity, PEO, and Helianthus. She directed choirs and was the director of music ministries at the First United Methodist Church for over 40 years.&nbsp; She taught many aspiring vocal music students and accompanied them in competitions throughout the state. &nbsp;Of most importance to her was her role as mother, wife and grandmother. She made time for family, especially grandchildren. Among their favorite times together were vacations to Colorado and Christmas caroling at the homes of friends. The Olsons were named Kiwanis Kansas Family of Builders in 1974 and Kansas Federation of Music Club’s Family of the Year in 1976.Chuck preceded Bev in death in 2011. Jordan was born in Abilene, KS, moving to Salina at the age of five, where she attended school graduating from Salina South High School.&nbsp; She then attended college, graduating from KU in 2016. &nbsp;

Her soul was as beautiful as they come, and her smile and laugh could light up a room.&nbsp; She loved music and concerts, being on the water at a pool or a lake, and spending time with her friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her parents Jill and Craig Duhr and Brandon Swarts.&nbsp; She is also survived by her siblings:&nbsp; Dustin Duhr, Derrek Duhr, Kirsten (Trent) Gorges, Colton (Leah) Duhr, Alec Swarts, Ethan Swarts, and Zachary Swarts.&nbsp; She will also be dearly missed by her grandparents&nbsp; Jolynn Jackson, Linda Swarts, and Jim Duhr.&nbsp; She has numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and other friends that are considered family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bill Moser, Sherry Moser, and David Swarts.

Arla Jeanne Mach was born on July 13, 1935, near Scandia, the daughter of Lyle D. and Dorothy (Larson) Ocobock. Arla was one of four children and grew up in Scandia, graduating from Scandia High School.

Arla was united in marriage to Raymond Mach on June 30, 1957, and to this union, four children were born. Arla worked as a waitress at Bobbie &amp; Dots, she was the City Clerk for Scandia, and she retired from Cloud County Community College where she worked in payroll and bookkeeping.

Arla was an avid reader, and loved going to bookstores and libraries. She also enjoyed walking, and would walk almost every day to The Feathered Nest for coffee and fellowship with her friends, and spending time with the Nest staff that she loved.

She loved her family and friends beyond measure. Arla was a fantastic cook, and rarely missed making Sunday dinners for whatever family could make it. She loved to travel, especially to Estes Park in Colorado, and the Rocky Mountains in general, making many trips through the years. She also liked to travel to visit her brothers, her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, in Seattle, Washington, Loveland, Colorado, Wamego, Kansas, Eudora, Kansas, and Lincoln, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Arla passed away on October 25, 2021, in Loveland, Colorado, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 12 days. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sons Randy and Darin, daughter-in-law Deanna Mach, brother Lyle Ocobock and sister Gwen Loring.

She is survived by her daughters Terri Paugh of Belleville and Lori Reinke (Dan) of Loveland, Colorado. Arla is also survived by her grandchildren Mandy Mach, Amber Mach (Jason), Dustin Mach, Megan Jones (Taylor), Kyle Cyr (Sarah), Ashley Worobec (Adam) and Aaron Reinke; greatgrandchildren, Dokken, Audrey, Ethan, Roman, Vandin, Paxton, Eli, Renli, Kade, Kirk, Korey and Niko. She is also survived by her brother Vaughn Ocobock of Lincoln, Nebraska, and brother-in-law Glenn Loring of Scandia, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, with visitation and family greeting friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Cremation will follow, with private family inurnment at Riverview Cemetery in Scandia at a later date.

He was currently the assistant men’s soccer coach at McPherson College. However, he was an integral part of both the men’s and women’s soccer programs at the college for the past 20 years. Reed was born on September 15, 1979, in Dallas, TX, the son of Joe Dan and Julie Ann (Holsapple) Hardgrave. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School (Dallas, TX) in 1998 and from McPherson College (McPherson, KS) in 2002. As a student-athlete, Hardgrave played for the McPherson College Bulldog soccer team for three years and was an NAIA Academic All-American. On December 17, 2000, Reed was united in marriage to Sonya Renee Johnson in Moundridge. This union was blessed with three children, Logan, Caden, and Ellie. Reed was active in the McPherson City FC, a local soccer club. Carol Joyce (Milligan) Pickerel, 83, Lawrence, died Saturday, October 22 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.

Carol was born March 28, 1938 on her family’s farm near Clay Center, Kansas to Glen and Geraldine Milligan. She was a graduate of the Clay Center High School Class of 1956. 

She devoted several years to caring for her children at home, and then later worked for many years in title companies in both Lawrence and Clay Center. She was also active in her community and church, as well as spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol married Jack Pickerel in 1956 in Clay Center, Kansas, and they remained faithful to each other for 60 years until Jack’s passing in 2016. Together they had three children: Scott in 1958, Kathy in 1959, and Mark in 1968.

Carol is survived by her brother Randy and his wife Zita; her oldest son Scott and his wife Betty; her youngest son Mark and his wife Linda, along with their two sons Matthew and Alex; her deceased daughter Kathy’s husband Russell; her granddaughter Lindsay and her husband Nathan, along with their children Landon and Piper; and her grandson Spencer and his wife Katie, along with their children Luke and Emma.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Friday, October 29 at 12:30 p.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook funeral home in Clay Center, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

She will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.

&nbsp; Pamela Jean Kury (Tighe), age 65, of Abilene, passed away at Salina Regional Health Center on Friday, October 15, 2021. Pam was born in Nürnberg, Germany on June 20, 1956 to Paul and Joyce (Patterson) Tighe. Pamela came from humble beginnings which blessed her with a spirit of appreciation and gratitude for the littlest things. Pamela and her siblings grew up in a military home and lived in Virginia, Nebraska, and finally ending up in Kansas.

While in Kansas, Pamela learned how to cook and upkeep the house where she would blast oldies from the 50s and 60s and cleaning, dance, and help take care of her siblings. She loved listening to Elvis, Beatles, Bee Gees, and so many more. Pamela had a love for finding the sunshine in everything, even the dark times, she always used to tell us kids that our sufferings are our blessings.

In 1972 she met Gordon Kury and they got married and moved to Custer, South Dakota. They welcomed their three children; Chris, Alicia, and Becca. She spent her years in South Dakota teaching her children to reach for their goals while she was their biggest supporter. She would be at every sporting event cheering them on, cooking homemade meals, and holidays were where she shined. She loved making treats and meals for holidays and never forgot the people that were unable to be with us in person. She would gather her kids and they would bake her famous treats:&nbsp; mud, cinnamon rolls, peanut butter balls, sugar cookies, and much more and make special cards and send them out to show her love for all of her family. To this day no other cinnamon rolls compare. 

Through the miles apart from friends and family she never missed a holiday, anniversary, or birthday. She had a card for everything and enjoyed having her grandchildren fill them out and send them to whomever they were missing, she always kept her word and mailed them out.

In 2004, Pam returned to Abilene, Kansas and lived out her days enjoying time with her grandchildren. Everyone she met would be welcomed into her life and she had so many people that adored her and her company. She loved being a mother to all and making sure people knew that they were loved and wanted. She had a peacemaker’s heart and was always able to see the good in someone. No matter how difficult life would get, she would always point out something she was grateful for, even during the last few months of her life when she was at her weakest.

Pamela’s love for the Black Hills and Kansas tied into her love for Wizard of Oz. She was passionate about coming from the state where the story is from and loved being able to call the state that the author was from home as well. She finally got to follow her yellow brick road home. Pamela will be forever missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son Christopher (Cassie) Kury of Oakdale, CT; her daughters Alicia Kury of Slater, Mo and Becca Kury of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother Tim Tighe of Newton, KS; and her sisters Becky Arenas of Abilene, KS and Debbie Tighe Stegemiller of Rising Sun, IN. She was known as “Grandmama” to her beloved Samuel Kury, Sawyer Kury, Reighlei Galvan, Auryelah Galvan, Charalei Galvan, Taiellah Galvan, Quetzalcoatl Aviles Kury. Kenneth Francis Hammerbacher, 69, of Belleville, KS, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2021. As he entered into eternal rest he was surrounded by his family, friends, and his granddoodles, Darla and Libby.

Kenneth, the only child of Francis F. and Lyla F. (Herod) Hammerbacher, was born on December 15, 1951 at Parsons, Kansas. At an early age, his family moved from southeastern Kansas to Narka, Kansas. Kenny attended Munden High School and later graduated from Belleville High School in 1969. He also attended and graduated from Cloud County Community College. He married Linda Beller on April 8, 1972.

Kenny worked for 42 years at Cloud Ceramics in Concordia, Kansas.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2609 and also the Bishop Thill Assembly 0295. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he had the honor to serve as Grand Knight of K of C Council 2609, District Deputy, regional membership chairman and state warden for the Kansas State K of C Council during 2016-2018. He served as faithful comptroller of the Bishop Thill Assembly 0295 for twenty years.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Lyla Hammerbacher; father-in-law Raymond Beller; sister-in-law Wanda K. (Beller) Isaacson-Shuler; and brother-in-law Dwight Isaacson.

He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Christa K. (Joe) Blazek, three amazing granddaughters, Jaycee, Julia, and Jordyn;&nbsp; mother-in-law, Ramona Beller; three nephews, Greg (Sarah) Isaacson, of Salida, CO, Brian (Liz) Isaacson of Belleville, KS, and Eric (Lisa) Isaacson, of Junction City, KS;&nbsp; brother-in-law, Don Shuler; and numerous extended family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Raymond Fredrick "Ray" Eilrich, 89, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:22 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2021 peacefully at Angel Arms. Raymond was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on October 22, 1932, a son of Fred Eilrich and Wilhamina (Bohl) Eilrich. Ray attended the Ellsworth schools in Ellsworth, Kansas. He was a member of Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. Ray was a farmer, worked for the state of Kansas in the Department of Transportation road maintenance, and worked for Walmart as an assembler. Ray enjoyed talking, telling stories, baking treats for his grandkids and spending time with his friends and family. Raymond was united in marriage to Wilma Ruth Lee on June 19, 1976 at Lorraine, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of a son, Steven. She died on August 23, 2002. He is survived by his son Steven Eilrich and his wife Tiffani Eilrich of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings Neita Brisco of Lincoln County, Kansas, and Marie Woodmanse of Ellsworth, Kansas. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Reanna Rose Eilrich and Hunter Ray Eirich, both of McPherson, Kansas and his special friend Rita VonFeldt. Raymond was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on October 22, 1932, a son of Fred Eilrich and Wilhamina (Bohl) Eilrich. Ray attended the Ellsworth schools in Ellsworth, Kansas. He was a member of Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. Ray was a farmer, worked for the state of Kansas in the Department of Transportation road maintenance, and worked for Walmart as an assembler. Ray enjoyed talking, telling stories, baking treats for his grandkids and spending time with his friends and family. Raymond was united in marriage to Wilma Ruth Lee on June 19, 1976 at Lorraine, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of a son, Steven. She died on August 23, 2002. He is survived by his son Steven Eilrich and his wife Tiffani Eilrich of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings Neita Brisco of Lincoln County, Kansas, and Marie Woodmanse of Ellsworth, Kansas. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Reanna Rose Eilrich and Hunter Ray Eirich, both of McPherson, Kansas and his special friend Rita VonFeldt. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wilma; his brothers Ador Eilrich, Lou Eilrich and Ferd Eilrich; his sisters Wilhamina Donaley and Leona Eilrich, and a grandson, Kooper Riece Eilrich A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 at 10:00 at Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson, Kansas, with Reverend Jeremy Bower officiating. Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 24 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 with Mark Casebeer playing trumpet. She married Wayne Sullivan in Geneseo on February 11, 1978. 

Twila was a talented piano player, but admitted she was never as good as her sister, Carla. She was also a violinist in the Kansas State University Orchestra while attending college. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes and costumes for her co-workers and their families. Twila was a “shopaholic” and what pleased her most was giving gifts to others.

Twila is survived by her daughters Jeanelle Craft (Michael) of Coolidge, AZ and Joycelyn Dorsey (Mary Van Antwerp) of Albuquerque, NM; stepdaughters Pam Sullivan of Salina, KS and Shelly Michael (Brian) of Bennington, KS; stepson, Mike Sullivan of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren Jaclyn Camarotti (Teo) of Manhattan, KS and Paula Olson of Wichita, KS; sister Carla Christians of Marquette, KS; niece Darla Brin (Mark) of Salina; nephew Davis Laughlin (Donna) of Benton, KS; and Daric Laughlin (Karen) of Overland Park, KS. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Sullivan and parents Carl and Theresa Gray.

Stephen E. Miller, 79, of Salina, Kan., passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was born in Salina on August 22, 1942, to Cal and Neva (Ditto) Miller.

Steve was joined in marriage to Karen Bullock on August 23, 1959, in Salina. He was a loving husband and a retired Navy veteran. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman and fan of KU and the Washington Redskins.

Survivors include his children Scott Miller of Salina, Stacey Hines of Larned, Todd Miller (Denise) of Solomon, and Larry Miller (Tami) of Salina; sisters Judy Calfee (Fred), Sherry Wiedmer, and Rhonda Vignery; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Karen; and granddaughter, Emily Miller.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 30, at the Bennington City Cemetery.
