Nancy DeArmond, age 86, of Concordia Ks. received her angel wings on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 surrounded by family.&nbsp; She was born August 26, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Bill and Naomi (Mellor) Pasini.&nbsp;

At a very young age they moved to Pittsburg, KS where she attended schools, graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1954 and Pittsburg State University in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in education.&nbsp;

 A lifelong member of the First Christian Church she met Fred DeArmond and they married on June 9, 1957.

Nancy will always be known as "Mrs. D" to the generations of students who passed through the halls of Concordia Jr./Sr. High school for 40+ years as a substitute teacher. She truly cared about every student she had the honor to teach.

And who could forget her entertaining "Junior Birdman" song she loved to perform! Nancy's most joyous moments were when a former student would stop her on the streets of Concordia and say hello! She loved everyone so much.

Nancy is survived by her sons William DeArmond [Christina], Eudora and Greg DeArmond [Carla] Loveland CO.; son-in-law Kenny Fuller; grandchildren Mark DeArmond [Liz], Brianne Walker [Keith], Timothy DeArmond [Elizabeth], Brandon DeArmond, and Carli Johnston[Paul], and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, daughter Kristi Fuller, and great-grandson Gideon.

A celebration of life service is planned for Monday, November 14th, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Christian Church with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the services at the church.&nbsp; 

The family suggests memorials to the church or Alzheimer’s Assoc. in care of the funeral home.&nbsp;

Melvin F. Mansfield, age 95, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on a farm in Center Township in rural Cloud County near Concordia, Kansas to Sidney Linten and Grace Maude (Swearingen) Mansfield.

He attended elementary school at Pleasant Hill Dist. 12 in Cloud County. He later received his GED.&nbsp; He took classes at Cloud County Community College and later took courses with Foley Belsaw and received a locksmith certificate.&nbsp; He was a 20-year member of the Kansas Hospital Engineers Association.

Growing up he worked on the farm, worked construction and was a bulldozer operator.&nbsp; He worked for McFall Tire Service, Hood Construction, Concordia Lumber Co., St. Joseph Hospital in maintenance, Republic County Hospital as the hospital engineer and plant operations and then for the Sisters of St. Joseph Nazareth Convent as the supervisor of buildings and grounds until his retirement on August 28, 1992 as the property services management and long-range planning.

He married Marjorie DeGraff on Feb. 2, 1952 in Salina, KS and to this union were born Susan and Curtis.&nbsp; They later divorced.&nbsp; He married Barbara (Crum) Sheridan in Belleville, KS on May 30, 1980 and she preceded him on April 24, 2019.

He is survived by his children Susan (Gary) Lindeen and Curtis (Tammy) Mansfield; stepchildren Beth Lewis, Brenda (Dane) Hanson and Brian (Teresa) Sheridan; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; his parents; brothers Robert Lloyd, twin infant brothers Austin &amp; Billy and a sister, Hazel Johnson.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1-8 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with the family greeting friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2022 at the funeral home with Fr. David Metz officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.

Billy attended schools in Concordia and worked construction.&nbsp; Billy loved to cook and was a natural conversationalist and enjoyed visiting with people.

He is survived by his sister Dixie Trost (Bud), Aurora; sister-in-law Kathy Lavoie; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Ted.

The family selected cremation and a graveside service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2022 with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.&nbsp;

Ron D. Trower, 72, Dallas, Oregon, formerly of Chapman, Kansas, passed away October 15, 2022. Ron was born in&nbsp;Junction City, Kansas on June 15, 1950 to Georgia (Sheek) and Ray C. Trower. 

He graduated from Chapman High School&nbsp;in 1969. After high school, he attended Salina Area Technical College and subsequently served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Ron was formerly married to Pam (Sanders). In 1991, Ron married Deb (Sheffield). 

Ron worked as a lineman for KCP&amp;L in&nbsp;Abilene, Kansas but moved to California and later Nevada where he worked for more than 30 years as a lineman for Los&nbsp;Angeles Power and Light, Transmission Division, Henderson, Nevada. After retirement from that position, he enjoyed working with his brothers Rodney and Terry at Transformer Disposal Specialists, Inc., in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He also&nbsp;worked as a truck driver for Kenneth Livingston Trucking, and Everett's Inc., both of Abilene, Kansas for several years before&nbsp;moving to Oregon.

Ron was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed&nbsp;quiet time with a good book. Family and friends will remember Ron as someone who was quick with a smile and a story,&nbsp;particularly over coffee with his brother Terry. Ron loved traveling, and exploring new places. He enjoyed the beauty that can&nbsp;be found outdoors, especially in places like Utah where he traveled often.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Gary and Rodney Trower. 

Survivors include his brother Terry&nbsp;(Janet), Enterprise, Kansas; sister Joy Ferguson, Salina, Kansas; sister Gay (Michael) Tedder, Leawood, Kansas; and sister&nbsp;Merry (John) Whitham, Scranton, Kansas. He is also survived by his wife Deb, and sons Jeff Trower, Las Vegas, Nevada; Dallas Trower, Dallas, Oregon; four stepchildren, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ron also leaves behind many&nbsp;nieces and nephews. 

Family will receive friends Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Chapman.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lois McCulley, 83 ,of Abilene passed away October 29, 2022 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Home. She was born February 2, 1939 in rural Abilene, the daughter of Solomon Nolan and Eunice Irene (Jahnke) Riffel. 

She graduated from Chapman High School and went on to trade school at Brown Mackey in Salina. 

On November 22, 1958 she was united in marriage to Albert U. “Mac” McCulley. He preceded her in death June 9, 2001. 

Lois worked for the 911 Dispatch for Dickinson County for 14 years. 

She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in rural Abilene, Red Hat Society, Avon and the Dixie Doo’s square dancing club. She volunteered at the hospital and enjoyed working in the yard, bird watching, her cats and grandchildren. 

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Albert and brother Nolan Riffel. 

She is survived by her partner Joe Simpson; her daughters Cinthia Pitcher of Mesa, Arizona and Ginger Schiefelbein and husband Joe of Topeka, Kansas and sons Michael McCulley and wife Kathy of Mesa, Arizona and Todd McCulley and wife Ginger of Hope, Kansas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Services for Lois will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, rural Abilene. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 at Danner Funeral Home.

Joe Seed, a longtime Salina insurance agent and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Oct. 31, 2022. He was 83.

He was born Frankie Joe Seed on March 28, 1939, in Vincennes, Ind., the town with the nearest hospital to his parents’ home in Bridgeport, Ill. His family moved often when he was a child between the Detroit area and southern Illinois. 

Joe graduated from Waterford Township High School in Michigan in 1957 and joined the U.S. Navy.

On Aug. 30, 1958, he married Karen O’Connor, in Oxford, Mich. They lived in San Diego and Great Lakes, Ill., while Joe was in the Navy. When he left the service in 1961, they moved to Hutchinson, where his parents had relocated.

Joe took a job with Prudential Insurance in Hutchinson, transferring to Salina in 1967. He was a sales manager at Prudential for a decade, then an independent agent, before he joined State Farm in 1982. He was active in the Kansas Association of Life Underwriters and held several offices, including president. He served several years as treasurer for the state organization.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman, a voracious reader, a proud supporter of the NAACP and a long-suffering Detroit Lions fan. He loved the music of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, always wore red socks and always voted Democrat. He had an Irishman’s gift for storytelling, and like any good Irishman’s, his stories got a little more dramatic every time he told them. As his family can attest, he practiced. A lot.

Joe always wanted to be a cowboy. &nbsp; In addition to his wife of 64 years, he’s survived by three children: Gaye Coburn (Mike) of Wichita, Joel Seed (Suzy) of Salina and Shawna Seed (Rick Holter) of Pagosa Springs, Colo. Joe had five grandchildren: Sean Coburn (Melinda) of Firestone, Colo., Cara O’Crowley (Matt) of Wichita, Shannon Shuler (Chris) of Salina, Seth Seed (Tara) of Salina and Stetson Seed of Salina. Among his other survivors are 11 great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Adaira, Brec and Stetson Coburn of Firestone, Colo.,&nbsp; Lydia Coburn of Wichita, Dakota and Raelyn Shuler of Salina, Jaylah Buchanan of Texas, Jaxsen and Jexa Seed and their mother Madison Cox of Abilene, and Sami Jo Seed of Salina.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4th, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Sunflower Ballroom at the Holiday Inn, 3145 South Ninth Street, Salina.

Linda K. Mynhier&nbsp;passed peacefully from this life on the morning of October 29th with her family by her side, at the age of 70.

Linda was born on November 15th, 1951, in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Max and Grace (Werries) Altman. 

She graduated from Tescott High School in 1969. 

Linda had many different career paths in her life; a few of her favorites being, working for the Boy Scout office, Schwans and working as a dietary aide at two local nursing homes. She had many hobbies including, gardening, cooking, doing crafts and reading as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Linda was proceeded in death by her husband Samuel Mynhier and her parents Max and Grace.

 She is survived by her daughter Lori Adam of Salina; two granddaughters, Carli Ryals (Jake) of Fort Campbell, KY and Kyla Adam of Salina. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Tanzi, Oakley, Milo and Romen. She is survived by a brother, Gilbert Altman (Nancy) of Salina and a sister, Joleen Whitfill (David) of Topeka.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A private burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery, Tescott, Kansas.

SALINA –&nbsp;Leola L. Batterman, 93, passed away at her home Monday, October 31, 2022.&nbsp; She was born on the farm near Plymouth, Nebraska on March 9, 1929 to Herman and Louise (Hueske) Diekmann.

Leola graduated from Wymore Nebraska High School and worked as a nurse in Beatrice, Nebraska.&nbsp; 

On February 17, 1957 she married Richard Batterman.&nbsp; Together they ran Batterman Construction where she was a bookkeeper.

After her children were born she was a devoted homemaker and exceptional mother, grandmother, friend, Christian, and cook.&nbsp; Leola enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.&nbsp; She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Salina and her faith was an important part of her life.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

Leola was preceded by her husband Richard Batterman; grandson Shane Batterman; great-granddaughter Addison Lambert; six brothers and four sisters.&nbsp; &nbsp;

She is survived by her children Wade Batterman and fiancée Jodi of Newton, Craig (Susan) Batterman of Salina, Beth Meisenheimer of Salina, Brent (Marissa) Batterman of Lihue, Hawaii; special daughter-in-law Bobbie Batterman and son-in-law Dick; sister-in-law Kathy Batterman; longtime friend Alberta Klanke; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday November 7, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Boxman officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

She was united in marriage to Dan Moss and together they had three children, Zan, Krista, and A.T. Berta and Dan celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Berta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Dan loved to travel to visit family and friends and to spend time in many island destinations. Her true love was to entertain by cooking and baking and sharing her meals with family and friends. Her home was always a welcome and loving place to stay.

Survivors include her husband Daniel "Dan" Moss; daughter Krista Decker (Kurt), of Downs, Kansas; &nbsp;two sons, Daniel "Zan" Moss (Kerry) of Winnemucca, Nevada, Arden "A.T." Moss (Jodi) of Spring Creek, Nevada; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister Bernita &nbsp;Eberle of Glen Elder, Kansas.

Tyson (Ty) Chadwick Woody, 72, Bennington, passed away October 23, 2022, at his home.

Ty was born March 28, 1950, in Salina to Gerald and Alice (Christenson) Woody. 

He graduated from Minneapolis High School and attended Kansas State University. 

Ty then started his career as a highly desired trim carpenter. He also built his own home in Bennington, where he lived out the rest of his life.

His favorite enjoyment was working crossword puzzles and the Sundays when he opened up his home for his friends to watch and converse their favorite sports and events – generally, it was NASCAR racing. Ty’s very favorite pastime was getting up at sunrise and taking his camera and truck on the backroads to photograph nature, birds, animals, and old farms and buildings. He had an excellent eye to capture the perfect picture. Ty had a fabulous collection of photos that he had taken over the years.

Ty was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Brad Woody who lived in Springfield, Mo.

Survivors include his sister Sheri Woody Cram and her husband Dan of Overland Park; brother Jerry Woody and his wife Vel of Wichita; six nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He graduated from Minneapolis High School and attended Kansas State University. Ty then started his career as a highly desired trim carpenter. He also built his own home in Bennington, where he lived out the rest of his life.His favorite enjoyment was working crossword puzzles and the Sundays when he opened up his home for his friends to watch and converse their favorite sports and events – generally, it was NASCAR racing. Ty’s very favorite pastime was getting up at sunrise and taking his camera and truck on the backroads to photograph nature, birds, animals, and old farms and buildings. He had an excellent eye to capture the perfect picture. Doris Mae (Dallen) Bergstrom of rural Courtland, KS, daughter of Emory and Belmae (LaBarge) Dallen was born December 18, 1950 and passed away from this life at her home on October 27, 2022.

Doris attended the Concordia school system, graduating from Concordia High School in 1969.&nbsp; On December 22, 1968 she married Lyle Ivan Bergstrom of Kackley, KS, and to this marriage three sons were born: Shawn Lyle, John Nathanael, and Karl Andrew.

Doris was an avid and loyal member of Ada Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed her faith on July 28, 1968.&nbsp; She loved serving Ada Lutheran Church in many capacities over the years, including serving on Altar Guild, Lutheran Church Women (LCW), chairperson for the annual Swedish Supper, and most recently having a love and passion for caring for the church, cemetery, and parsonage grounds.&nbsp; 

Doris worked for many years in the health care field in different aspects and retired from Republic County Hospital in 2020.&nbsp; Doris took a brief break from health care to follow her passion for cooking as she co-owned and operated the Pike Trail Café in Courtland, KS, ran the salebarn café at Washington, KS for 12 years, and also spent several years catering; however it was her pies and cinnamon rolls that she was best known for.&nbsp; 

Doris loved and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and spoke often of how proud she was of each and every one of them.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents Emory and Belmae Dallen, her son Shawn Lyle and daughter-in-law Dinah (Bollinger) Bergstrom.&nbsp; Sisters Marie Folsom, Yvonne Klepper, Mary Jane Girard, Anna Lea Cherney and brothers-in-law Jule Folsom, Herb Klepper, David Girard, Carmen Cherney, Lorraine Bergstrom, and Jerry Waite.

Survivors include husband Lyle Bergstrom of Courtland, KS; sons John (Chylo) Bergstrom of Garden City, KS; Karl (friend Chris) Bergstrom of Salina, KS; granddaughters Corrine (Cort) Peterson of Manhattan, KS, Rayenah Bergstrom of Topeka, KS,and Meara Bergstrom of Garden City, KS; grandsons Bradyn, Bryce, and Brody Bergstrom all of Salina, KS;&nbsp; brothers DeWayne (Sondra) Dallen of Wichita, KS, and Farrel (Mary Frances) Dallen of Topeka, KS; sisters-in-law Lorna Waite of Salina, KS, Juanita (Lloyd) Haukom of Lindsborg, KS, and Lenita (Steve) Glanzer of Randolph, KS; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

George V. Dinkel, age 73, formerly of Brownell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at his home in Victoria, Kansas.

He was born September 7, 1949, in Hays, Kansas to Victor J. and Juliana
 M. (Rajewski).&nbsp; He married Velma (Unrein) on January 8, 1972, in Hays, 
Kansas.

He was a truck driver for National Carriers for over 20 years, and also
 was a farmer.&nbsp; He was a 1967 graduate of Ellis High School and was a 
member of Christ The King Catholic Church of WaKeeney, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a
 veteran of the US Army and moved to Victoria in the spring of this year
 from Brownell, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife Velma Dinkel, of the home; his children, 
John Dinkel and Chris Dixon, St. John’s, FL; Erin Rupp and husband 
Eugene, Victoria, KS; James Dinkel and wife, Annetta, Brownell, KS; his 
sisters, Judy Augustine and husband, Jeff, Hays, KS; Denice Fuller and 
husband, Mike, Concordia, KS; his grandchildren, Jacob Dinkel; Tyler 
Dinkel; Ethan Rupp; Emma Rae Rupp; his step grandchildren, Morgan Dixon;

Judy grew up in Herington, graduating from Herington High School in 1951.&nbsp; 

She married George Sauer in 1950 and he preceded her in death in February of 1972.&nbsp; 

She then married Edward Hearp in December of 1973.&nbsp; The couple moved to Oklahoma in 1976 where Judy worked in food service at Oklahoma State Univesrity for over 20 years before her retirement.&nbsp; Edward would precede her in death in 1997. &nbsp;

Judy moved to Clay Center in April of 2020.&nbsp; 

She is also preceded by her parents and granddaughter Kirsten Lou Hearp.

Survivors include her tthree sons, Brandon and wife Stacie Hearp of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Steve Sauer of North Platte, Nebraska, and Robert and wife Tammy Sauer of Glencoe, Oklahoma; daughter Rhonda Wallace of Clay Center, Kansas; four grandchildren, Jolene Istas, Andrew Sauer, Logan Hearp and Lawson Hearp and two great-grandchildren, Kjanae and Kaveon Istas.

Lana married Duane Michaud on April 28, 1972 in Concordia, KS.

Survivors include her husband Duane, Concordia; son Rodney Michaud (Janet), Concordia; daughter Amanda Michaud (fiancé Tony Burden), Wichita; brother Paul Monty (Gayle), Washington; grandchildren Brendan Michaud and Adrianna Romo (Zak); great granddaughter, Alora Ray Romo and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Loleda Monty.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2022 with a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends after the rosary all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

After 94 full years of life, Teresa Mae Tajchman passed away surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was blessed to receive such sacraments in her last days to give her family hope that she was quickly welcomed into our Lord and Savior’s kingdom.

 Her legacy will go on through her four children, 18 grandchildren, and 15 (and counting) great-grandchildren. Her house and heart were full to bursting.

Growing up as a self-described “gypsy,” Teresa’s family moved around every few months between California and Kansas. Her family was rich in all that mattered, and Teresa never realized her family was poor until much later in life, looking back at her memories. How fitting her maiden name was “Love.” 

At 17, she began working at the telephone company, who originally thought her too young but she said “give me a chance,” and they never looked back. 

She continued to work until marrying the love of her life at the age of 33. She officially met Valerian Tajchman at a dance at the Padella Club in Wichita, KS. Where opposites attract; his dancing skills were unparalleled while Teresa liked to watch. 

Teresa married who she referred to as “the best man in the world” at the now inactive parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita, KS.

She was blessed to receive such sacraments in her last days to give her family hope that she was quickly welcomed into our Lord and Savior’s kingdom. Her legacy will go on through her four children, 18 grandchildren, and 15 (and counting) great-grandchildren. Her house and heart were full to bursting.Growing up as a self-described “gypsy,” Teresa’s family moved around every few months between California and Kansas. Her family was rich in all that mattered, and Teresa never realized her family was poor until much later in life, looking back at her memories. How fitting her maiden name was “Love.” At 17, she began working at the telephone company, who originally thought her too young but she said “give me a chance,” and they never looked back. She continued to work until marrying the love of her life at the age of 33. She officially met Valerian Tajchman at a dance at the Padella Club in Wichita, KS. Where opposites attract; his dancing skills were unparalleled while Teresa liked to watch. Teresa married who she referred to as “the best man in the world” at the now inactive parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Wichita, KS. The city girl fell in love with the farm, even without running water and no indoor plumbing. Since 5th grade she had “enjoyed these luxuries.” She always said she felt like she went back in time, but was also never happier.&nbsp;Although she was no chef before marriage, Teresa taught herself to cook so well she became known for her food and no one went hungry or unsatisfied at her table. She fell in love with gardening, and spent numerous hours canning produce from her garden. Family meals were comprised entirely from their own hands and land. Up until her death she spent time in her garden and over her stove. The two were blessed with twins in 1964 after Teresa went into labor while picking tomatoes in the heat of the Kansas summer. Even after bringing the babies home, they struggled to name them. They finally decided on “Victoria Lynn and Jacqueline Lee” after the hospital said “these babies need names!” Clay Tajchman was born Spring of 1966, who would grow to be her first call whenever she had a need, want, or question. Scott Tajchman joined the family in the winter of 1968, and spent his first six months attached to his mother’s hip at his screeching insistence. After 13 short but joyful years of marriage, Val sadly passed away. Her life drastically changed after he was killed in a farming accident July 4th. Although pressured by many of her family to uproot her children to return to life in the city, Teresa took to heart the advice of her priest. Monsignor Tonne, who Teresa greatly respected, told her not to make any major decisions for one year. A year later, despite her family even appealing to Monsignor to change her mind, Teresa said she was going to stay on the farm. Her family should have known; it would take an extreme act to change the mind of Teresa Tajchman. Monsignor Tonne told her sisters, “We will take care of her and her kids out here,” and he did, along with their neighbors who became family.Teresa returned to work after losing her husband, now as a cook at the school. A harder-working woman could not be found. She raised her children, lived frugally, and always lived out her faith. Her children never wanted for anything, with Teresa making sacrifices to ensure they could participate in activities, sporting events, and live a carefree childhood. Teresa had numerous nieces and nephews. Her prayers were as fervent for them as if they were own children, which is how she saw them. Her door was open to anyone and everyone, whether for a homecooked meal or a place to live. A homeless migrant or a beloved family member, it did not matter. She loved sitting on her porch, drinking her Pepsi, and chatting with her loved ones, often about what she saw on Fox or EWTN. Her faith led her, living with such devotion to inspire and lead others to a greater faith. She was never without her rosary and held a special fidelity to the divine mercy and prolife ministries. She complained about the stacks of letters she received asking for charity but continued sending whatever she could to all sorts of needs regardless. She was a woman whose faith could not be ignored, denied, or questioned (although it was a dangerous game to ever question any of “Granny’s wisdom” anyway). She died with nothing but had everything.She is survived by her children Vickie (Steve) Jirak of Ramona, Jacqueline (Greg) Jirak of Oakley, KS, Clay (Candace) Tajchman of Ramona and Scott (Danielle) Tajchman of Hutchinson; grandchildren Raschelle ( Christopher) Bruck, Seth (Gina) Jirak, Jacob Jirak, Elias Jirak, Ethan (Maggie) Jirak, Heidi Jirak, Emma ( Isaac) Follett, Leo Jirak, Pius Jirak, Ivan Jirak, Chelsey (Thieen) Antoszyk, Samantha (Chris) Wilson, Noah Tajchman, Adi Tajchman, Mila Tajchman, Dominic Tajchman, Zelie Tajchman, Bernadette Tajchman, and Pia Tajchman; great-grandchildren Grace, Lydia, Lucy, Vincent, Liam, Xavier, Cecilia, Nancie, Sebastian, Casper, Miriam, Isabel, Kash, Haidyn and Arabella; sister Joan Barton, sister-in-law Evelyn Tajchman, brother-in-law Herman Strafuss and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;Teresa passed away on Saturday October 29, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Forest Hawkins, Faye Lawson, Winnie Simon, Frieda Glover, Bill Love, Ben Love and grandchildren Lindsay and Felicity Jirak. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen.
