Louina Lael Seymour, 83, of Burrton, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at NMC Health in Newton. She was born April 12, 1939, in Stafford, Kansas, the daughter of LeRoy and Bessie Ellen (Tate) Wood.
Lael graduated from Solomon High School with the class of 1957.
She worked as a purchasing agent for Moridge Manufacturing in Moundridge for 26 years, retiring in 2005.
Lael was united in marriage to Arthur Dean Seymour on June 9, 1957, in Solomon. He survives of the home after 65 years of marriage.
Lael started volunteering her time in 2005 at Slate Creek Elementary and Santa Fe Middle School in Newton where her grandsons attended. She volunteered in the school libraries where she would often make bookmarks for the children.
She is also survived by her four children, Susan (Danny) Dauber of Salina, Kevin (Jean) Seymour of Moundridge, Denise (James) Wilson of Newton, and Diana (Marc) Sattler of Newton; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Lael was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rowena Weers and Selena Book; and brother, Tharon Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Moundridge United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Prairiedale Cemetery, Talmage, KS. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 13, at Moundridge Funeral Home with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
