Barbara Beryl (Stewart) Hamilton, the third child and daughter of Clifford “Bill” and Helen (Barnett) Stewart was born on February 17, 1938 in Halstead, Kansas. Barbara attended Haven Grade School and High School where she was a twirler in the band and a member of the choir. She met the love of her life, Merle Hamilton, at Haven Baptist Church and was married June 1, 1956. Barbara was a member of the Haven Baptist Church. She loved Jesus and served as a Sunday school teacher, social chair lady, and Awana volunteer. Barbara sang in the choir and in a ladies trio. She loved her family and spending time watching her children, grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews compete in sports and participate in other activities. She was a cook at Haven Grade School for 27 years. Barbara was an avid reader. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brothers Daryl, Buck, Ted; and sister Darlene.

Barbara is survived by her husband Merle; brother Larry; sons, Stuart (Cheryl) of Topeka, and Scott (Kathy) of Turon; daughter Dana (Brian) Blew of Lansing; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Haven Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Laurel Cemetery.&nbsp;

<a href="https://www.stockhamfamily.com/obituaries/jerome-jerry-land"></a>Jerome “Jerry” Leonard Land was born on October 2, 1933, at the home of his grandmother in Juniata, NE to Charles L. and Josephine L. (Fifield) Land.

After graduating high school in Omaha in 1952, he joined the army and served during the Korean war, stationed in Germany. 

He attended college and graduated with a degree in draftsmanship after which he went to work for the Metropolitan Water District in Los Angeles.

In 1958, he married Jacqueline Strahan in San Bernardino, CA, adopting her son, Steve. The couple had two more children, Linda and Todd.

He married Ruth Potter Black Milliken on April 13, 1991, at Clark, NV. They lived at several locations in California where Jerry owned a pest control business, The Fly Guy. He was always a diligent and conscientious worker and a savvy business owner.

After retirement, he and Ruth moved to Moundridge, KS, and later to McPherson, KS, to be near family.

 Jerry was an expert woodworker and made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his and Ruth’s home as well as making gifts for family members. He and Ruth always had a beautiful home, and they enjoyed sharing it with family, especially on the 4th&nbsp;of July holiday when there was usually a cookout and fireworks. Jerry enjoyed being around the extended family and celebrating many holidays with 3-4 generations. 

Jerry and Ruth attended McPherson Free Methodist Church and more recently, Cornerstone Bible Church.

Jerome Leonard Land passed into eternity on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, after several years of declining health. He was eighty-nine.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Land of Hutchinson, KS; sister Dolores Phelps of Florida; daughter, Linda Hess (Robert) of Twin Falls, ID; and sons Steve Land and Todd Land (Jerry Reinke) of Joplin, MO; grandchildren Serena Riley, Skylar Land, and Ryan Land; brother-in-law Larry Potter of Inman, KS; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; stepson Wesley M. Black; brother-in-law Richard Potter; sister-in-law Judith Potter; and great nephew Christopher Shepard.

A memorial service will take place at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson at 11:00 a.m.on Friday, November 18, 2022, with Rev. Tom Mayse officiating.&nbsp; Burial with Military Honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

A. Ralph Jordan, Jr., 87, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp;

Ralph retired from John’s Manville prior to owning and operating Ralph’s Lawn Care.&nbsp; He then was a driver for Midway Motors and a greeter for Walmart.

Ralph was born on April 28, 1935, in &nbsp;Tulsa, OK, the son of Amiel Ralph Jordan, Sr. and Lucile Lois (Cheairs) Jordan.&nbsp; 

He graduated from Russellville High School in Russellville, AR in 1953.&nbsp;

Ralph was united in marriage to M. Belle (Pletcher) Folck on December 22, 1977, in Russellville, AR.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on December 9, 1989.&nbsp; He married Pat L. (Holt) Guy on July 31, 1993, in McPherson, KS.&nbsp; She passed away May 4, 2018.&nbsp;

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, McPherson.

He is survived by two daughters, Janice Riley (Bob) of Phoenix, AZ and Marsha Rasdon (Gary) of Russellville, AR; two stepdaughters, Lani “Lana” Bowser (Gary) of McPherson, KS and Darla Williams (Bradley) of McPherson, KS; a sister, Pollee Gough (Jim) of Clovis, CA; four grandchildren, Melissa Collins, Daniel Connerly (Sarah), Bryan Connerly (Jessica), and Garren Rasdon; six stepgrandchildren, Kelcey Guy (Holly), Jared Guy, Justin Guy, Shalonda McGill, Shaun Bowser (Izumi), and Cheyann Williams (fiancé, Ben Barber); eight great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Belle and Pat; sister Patricia Jackson; stepson Todd Guy; and stepgrandson Cole Bradley Williams.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Shari Rae (Goering) Henson was born in the McPherson Hospital on April 20, 1973, to Bryce and Irene (Shannon) Goering.&nbsp; She was the third of three children.&nbsp; 

She lived most of her life in McPherson except for four years in Leadville, Colorado, from the fall of 1975 to the fall of 1979.&nbsp; 

Shari was baptized in the First United Presbyterian Church of Leadville on June 5, 1977.&nbsp; 

The family returned to McPherson in 1979, and Shari attended school in the McPherson School district through her senior year, graduating from McPherson High School in 1991.&nbsp; She attended Hutchinson Junior College where she studied office technology.&nbsp; 

On March 8, 2003, she was united in marriage to Richard (Rich) Henson, and they were blessed with a daughter, Hailey Rae, who was the light of their lives.&nbsp; 

Over the years, Shari worked at CertainTeed Mfg., court trustee’s office, McPherson Middle School, Heartland Vet Clinic, and Lincoln Elementary School.&nbsp;

Shari was a member of the First Christian Church in McPherson.

Family was very important to Shari, and she always enjoyed family get-togethers and sharing the holidays with family.&nbsp; She also loved attending all of Hailey’s sporting events, especially her softball games, and enjoyed going to programs and sporting events of her nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was especially close to her brother and sister, and their children became like her own.&nbsp; Somewhere along the way, Shari developed a green thumb and became the “plant doctor” for friends and family.&nbsp; She especially liked succulents, and the Henson home was always filled with a variety of plants.&nbsp; Shari was also well known by family and friends for giving the best hugs.

After a long and hard-fought battle with kidney cancer, Shari Rae Henson, 49, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her home in McPherson surrounded by family and friends.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her father Bryce Goering; her paternal grandparent, Ed and Teresa Goering, and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Wilma Shannon, all of McPherson; one uncle, Gene Shannon of Cassoday, KS; and two aunts, Betty Norris-Madron of McPherson and Bonnie Goering of Kansas City, KS.

Survivors include her loving husband Rich, and daughter Hailey; her mother Irene (Shannon) Goering; her brother Shawn Goering and his wife Kim; her sister Shannon Renee Saverino-Owens and her husband Brad; her brothers-in-law Keith Myers, Jr. and Dean LeGron and his wife Jara, all of McPherson; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Ann Arell of Wichita.&nbsp; There was a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She is also survived by several cousins and a special uncle, Buck Nelson.&nbsp; Shari was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.&nbsp; She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to thank all those who sent food, participated in fundraisers, and in general, showed their love and care in so many ways.

He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1958, and Colorado State University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1968. During that time Charles served in Army National Guard from 1962 to 1968. Charles was united in marriage to Sharon Dilley in Tempe, Arizona on July 3, 1964. He worked for Bendix (Honeywell) Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri for six years, and later for Combustion Engineering in Abilene, KS for 22 years. He was a member of the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Abilene. Charles was an avid hunter and reader, enjoying western novels. Charles is survived by wife Sharon of the home, daughter Rhonda Chism and her husband Todd of Olathe, KS, sons Morgan Anderson and his wife Tonia of Lawrence, KS, and Garrett Anderson of Lenexa, KS and six grandchildren, Noelle, Brenna, Branden, Kendra, Cheyenne, and Tristan. Charles passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene at the age of 82.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Abilene with Father Peter O’Donnell as Celebrant. His final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery. A parish rosary will be 5:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Danner Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following.

Florence E. Ryff passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12 at 10:30 a.m at LifeHouse Church, 420 NW 2nd Street in Abilene, Kansas. Danner Funeral Home is handling the arrangements with Marty Colborn as officiate. Florence E. Ryff was born on April 16th, 1940 to William and Lula (Allen) Murrison, weighing just over 4 lbs. Her first “bassinet” was a shoebox.

She was the youngest of six children, Albert, Alice, Doris, Wlliam (Billy) and Margaret. She was of Scottish descent as her father William was born in Scotland and immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 by way of Ellis Island. One of the proudest days of his life was the day he became a United States citizen. Florence attended Chapman schools and graduated from Dickinson County Community High School in 1958. Her favorite classes included math and algebra.

Florence married Dick Ryff on September 25th, 1964. 

She was a homemaker and selflessly dedicated herself to her husband and children. While Dick was at work, she took care of the household and always paid bills in cash (in person). Although she took driving lessons in high school, she never got a driver’s license and never drove a car. If Dick was not available to drive her downtown to pay bills, she would either walk or ride one of her children’s bicycles even if the only one available had a banana seat and sissy bar. 

After her kids had grown, she took a position as dishwasher at Mr. K’s Buckboard and later Pizza Hut to earn a little “bingo money” and she loved bingo (3 times a week!). Florence loved her family and was always interested in what was going on in their lives. Many conversations included a flurry of questions about what they were doing, where they were going and what was for dinner. We will sorely miss those interrogations. Florence was preceded in death by her parents William and Lula; siblings Albert, Alice, Doris, Billy and Margaret, her favorite niece Shirley (who was more like a sister), husband Dick and daughter Jackie.

Survivors include children Vicky (Bud) Elliott, Glenda (Glen) Renz, Brian Ryff, Rod Ryff, Ty (Cathy) Ryff, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ray was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Ray liked fishing, cooking BBQ and soul food, listening to his oldies and Motown music, watching sports - especially his football teams - Alabama (Roll Tide) and Dallas Cowboys, and he loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary L. (Vinson) Shackelford; daughters Alysia Rena Shackelford and Kimberly (Shackelford) Porter, both of Montgomery, and Teraclesha S. Shackelford and Mary Rachel Shackelford, both of Salina; brothers Eugene Shackelford (Avis) of Montgomery, and Nathaniel Shackelford of Salina; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Rachel (Jones) Shackelford; son Roderick L. Shackelford; daughters Debrah Shackelford and Ramona L. Shackelford; brothers Glenn Shackelford and Charles Jones; and grandparents Ola and Pop Willie Jones.

On July 16, 1983, she married Joel Seed in Russell. A few years later, they moved to Salina, where they raised their family.

Suzy enjoyed crafting and had a gift for turning random items into art. She liked spending time with her family and tending to her pet chickens.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her three children: Shannon Shuler (Chris), Seth Seed (Tara), and Stetson Seed (Andrea Jackson). Other survivors include her six grandchildren: Jaylah Buchanan of Texas, Dakota and Raelyn Shuler of Salina, Jaxsen and Jexa Seed and their mother Madison Cox of Abilene, Savannah Bailey and Sami Jo Seed, Salina. She's also survived by her siblings Pam, Teresa and John, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Suzy often opened her home to friends and family and treated young people as if they were her own children. Those survivors include Jonah Wolf, Jason Shanley, James Wheeler, and her nieces Angela and Jessica Pozalek.

Mildred Allene Pugh, 91, of Salina, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022.&nbsp; She was born at home on Christmas Day, December 25, 1930, in Salina, Kansas, to Martin D. and Ersulla (Rand) Eikelberger.

She graduated from Washington High School in Salina in 1948.

She married Robert F. Johnson on June 6, 1948.&nbsp; There were two children born to this union, a son, Russell Kent Johnson and a daughter, Janelle Anette Johnson.

Robert F. Johnson passed away on May 13, 1984.

On October 12, 1991, Mildred married James F. Pugh.&nbsp; As a result of this union there was an added stepson, Scott, and his wife Latda Pugh of Salina, and stepdaughter Cheryl and husband Joe Shannon of Texas. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lloyd Eikelberger, her first husband Robert F. Johnson, her second husband James F. Pugh, and a stepson, Scott Pugh.

She is survived by a son Russell and wife Margie Johnson, Moses Lake, Washington and a daughter, Janelle and husband Bill Gerry, Salina.&nbsp; There are also 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, each of them loved dearly. &nbsp;

During her adult life she worked for Stiefel’s department store, in the office of Webb Johnson Electric, and as teller for People’s Heritage Savings and Loan.

After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home.&nbsp; She also enjoyed many years of volunteer work at Asbury and Salina Regional Health Center as an escort and serving at the information desk, as well as at the Red Cross Blood Drives.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Ryan Mortuary, with Pastor Steve Holmes as officiant. Inurnment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Melvin Ray Crowder, Jr., 79, of Salina, passed away Sunday, November 6th, 2022.

Melvin “Sonny” was born in Salina, Kansas on August 19, 1943, a son of Grace Irene (Roseberry) Igo and Melvin Ray Crowder, Sr. 

Early in his childhood the family moved to a home near Anderson, Missouri, then later in Iowa. His family lived there for several years before moving back to Salina with the dissolution of the marriage between his parents.

At the age of 12, he started working for other people to make extra spending money for himself and his family. In 1966, he was employed by Long McArthur Ford and after 43 years he retired as an auto technician. Cars were always a big part of his life. While a young man, he raced his Model A and dragster winning some races. He enjoyed building T-bucket roadsters completely from the ground up.

He had a great love for his family and always wanted a better life for his family and children than when he was growing up. He married Sharon Carter on April 16, 1962. Sharon and Sonny had a long life together until her passing in 2019. 

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Bates (Matthew), of Denver, Colorado, Sarah Lee (Marcus), of Salina; son Kenneth Crowder (April Teakell), of Salina, Kansas; grandchildren Rachel, Stephanie, Marcus “Scott”, Jr., Gracelynn, Eleanor, Chris, Jessica, Randy; six great-grandchildren; and his sister Jennifer Kerr (Kevin) of Lawrence, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 years, Sharon Kay Crowder; two brothers, Orville "Bouncer" Crowder and Clinton Crowder.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2022 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Burial will be held at a later date in Timber Creek Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas.

Alvina (Dirks) Nelson was born on January 16, 1924, to Abraham and Anna (Buller) Dirks at their farm home near Buhler, Kansas, and she passed November 6, 2022, in Salina, Kansas.

She graduated from Buhler High School in 1941 and McPherson College in 1945. 

On August 29, 1948, she married Harold Nelson. 

She taught elementary school in Salina, and retired in 1984. 

In her retirement, she followed her passion and became an avid quilter and was a charter member of Silver Needles. She quilted for family and friends and her handquilting can be seen in several published books by Nancy Martin, a nationally known quilter and writer.

She is survived by her children Ron Nelson and wife Joyce and Doreen McDowell; grandchildren Heather Wagoner and husband Jared, Stephanie McDowell and husband Derek Belton, Brian Nelson, and Kevin Nelson; and great-grandchildren Lauren Wagoner and Rachel Nelson. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Art Dirks and Harry Dirks, and son-in-law Steve McDowell.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2022, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Alvina Nelson

Rodney Eugene Smith, 67, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, 
November 6, 2022. He was born on September 9, 1955, in Smith Center, 
Kansas, to Harley and Cleora (Bliss) Smith. Rodney grew up in 
Osborne, KS he was on the wrestling team and in band. Rodney enjoyed the
 small town life running around with his twin brother Roger and little 
brother Rick and working at the town grocery store. The three of them 
spent countless hours in the summers at the Osborne City pool. He 
graduated from Osborne High School in 1973. His mother and father were 
very proud of him, and he was thankful for the loving home and life he 
had growing up. He always knew he wanted to be a Pharmacist and 
attended the University of Kansas Pharmacy School graduating in 1978. 
His first job as a pharmacist was at Dillon’s Pharmacy in Lawrence on 
Massachusetts street. Work took him to many towns in Kansas as a 
Pharmacist. In 1981 he was working at the Dillons Pharmacy in Salina, KS
 when he met his soon to be wife, Roxanne, at a Dillon’s picnic. She 
worked at another Dillons in Salina, where he came in to ask Roxanne out
 for the first time for a ride on his motorcycle. The two were 
married in 1982 in Salina at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. 
They welcomed their first son, Christopher in 1984 in Lawrence, KS. In 
1988, they welcomed their daughter, Abby in Lawrence, KS. They made 
Lawrence their home and Rodney opened the Medicine Shoppe on 
Massachusetts Street. Life took them to Hutchinson, KS in 1991 
where Rodney owned the Medicine Shoppe on Main Street. They raised their
 children in Hutchinson until Abby graduated high school in 2007, when 
they made their way back to Lawrence where both Chris and Abby attended 
his alma mater Kansas University, which made Rodney so proud. Chris went
 on to get his PhD in Chemistry from University of Minnesota and is the 
head of a lab in the Kansas City area. Abby went on to become a Dental 
Hygienist and has furthered her career in Dental software technology. Rodney
 touched many lives and filled many scripts over the years, and had 
heart warming stories about the many people that touched his life in 
pharmacy. Rodney worked up until the day he passed as a remote pharmacy 
consultant for a non profit, Family Healthcare Center in Kansas City, 
KS. His passion became helping the underserved and he was able to give 
back by helping to start 340B Pharmacies for the uninsured. Rodney
 was an avid golfer up until he got pancreatic cancer. He has fond 
memories golfing with his father Harley, son Chris, brother Roger and 
nephews Jared, Ryan and Andrew and his lifelong Salina golf buddies. 
Rodney had 2 impressive hole in one’s throughout his golfing career. Rodney
 was a diehard Kansas Jayhawk fan, loved all things basketball and 
football at KU. He loved his Chiefs, and grew a love for the Oklahoma 
State Cowboys after his daughter Abby married her husband Derek that ran
 cross country and track there. Rodney was so proud of Chris’s wife Linh, becoming a pharmacist in his footsteps at KU. Rodney followed his dad Harley’s footsteps to become a Mason and was a Master Mason of the Masonic temple in Hutchinson, KS. Rodney
 was a jokester, could never remember the entire joke when he repeated 
it, which made his family and friends laugh even harder, he was often 
the brunt of jokes and that’s the way he liked it! Rodney was the
 grandpa that got down on the ground with his grandkids and would sit 
and play with them for hours. One of Abby and Chris’s fondest memories 
as children was Rodney telling them his own version of jack and the 
beanstalk as a bedtime story. It always ended in laughter and tears the 
way he told it. Rodney could not wait to be with his mother, Cleora in heaven. He talked about her every day. Rodney
 is survived by his father, Harley Smith of Osborne, KS; loving wife, 
Roxanne Smith, children, Chris (Linh &amp; Aiden) Smith; Abby (Derek, 
Lucy &amp; Drew) Tate, all of Olathe, KS. Brother, Roger (Neta, Amanda, 
Jared, Mark, Graham, Elia, Molly) Smith of Topeka, KS; Brother, Rick 
(Dee, Ryan, Holly, Andrew, Nomi, Tanner, Sammy, Heidi, Presley, Violet,

Rodney Eugene Smith

Sister Donna Gottschalk, CSA, formerly Sister Philip, died peacefully November 2, 2022, at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Donna Marie was born in La Crosse, Kansas, on May 6, 1940.&nbsp; She was the first daughter after eight sons born to Philip Gottschalk and Lidwina Werth Gottschalk. Following Donna, three more boys and two girls made the family of fourteen complete.

Donna spent her childhood keeping up with her brothers, doing farm and household chores, and learning very fast how to play baseball and football with the best. When Donna was six, the family moved to Hays, Kansas, to fulfill her parents’ desire for their children to have a Catholic education.&nbsp; In grade school and high school, Donna was taught by the Sisters of St. Agnes.&nbsp; From early on, she wanted to be just like the sisters. After high school, Donna, still undecided about pursuing her desire to be a sister, attended the College of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas, taught by the Sisters of St. Benedict. In 1959, after her first year of college, Donna made the decision to enter St. Agnes Convent. Even though she missed the wheat fields of Kansas and the life she shared with her family, her call to religious life beckoned her to Wisconsin and CSA.&nbsp; She made her first profession of vows as Sister Philip in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes on August 15, 1962, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.&nbsp; Sister Donna earned a BS in Elementary Education from Marian College, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1964. Sister taught primary grades in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Kansas for 31 years. She loved teaching and working with children, and they loved her and filled her heart with many happy memories.&nbsp; During her years as an educator, she enriched her teaching and religious education skills with several courses and seminars at Ft. Hays State University, Hays, Kansas and at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.&nbsp; In 1993, Sister Donna retired from teaching. After a year of sabbatical in Rock Haven, Missouri, in 1994, she engaged in a variety of ministries including serving on the parish team of Sacred Heart Parish in Colby, Kansas, and cooking for the residents at St. John’s New Horizons Assisted Living, Hays, Kansas. In 1998, Sister Donna returned to Fond du Lac as an assistant to the Local Coordinators for the CSA retirement community at Nazareth Court and Center. She spent countless hours providing for the needs of the sisters, shopping for them, driving, baking, preparing special meals and filling the sisters’ days with her caring and attentive presence and support. In 2018, a serious illness caused Sister Donna to resign her position. Unable to serve the sisters as before, she herself became a resident at Nazareth Court and Center and later at St. Francis Home where she received loving care until the time of her death. Throughout her life, Sister Donna cherished her life in CSA and her Kansas roots. Her love for life, for her CSA sisters, for her family and friends, for the wheat fields, for the smell of the land and for all creation remained strong as did her special hobbies of cooking, baking, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.&nbsp; Preceding Sister Donna in death were her parents; her brothers Father Andrew Gottschalk, OSB, Vernon, Ivan, Cecil, Philip, Floyd, Stephen; her sister Helen (Ron) Legleiter. Donna Marie was born in La Crosse, Kansas, on May 6, 1940.&nbsp; She was the first daughter after eight sons born to Philip Gottschalk and Lidwina Werth Gottschalk. Following Donna, three more boys and two girls made the family of fourteen complete. Jim’s life began on September 14, 1967, at Selfridge Air Force Base hospital in Michigan.&nbsp; He was the son of Linda K. (Tolleson) Barnett.

 Jim graduated from Cass City High School in Michigan.&nbsp;

Jim found the love of his life Kim Wynn in 1989 and they enjoyed over 33 years together.&nbsp;

He was a meat cutter by trade and was referred to as “the meat man” to his customers.&nbsp; Jim also worked in concrete construction.&nbsp;

 He was best known for having a heart of gold.&nbsp; He was an excellent cook, and his potato soup was amazing.&nbsp; He could be grumpy at times but always turned around and was giving at a moment’s notice.&nbsp; He loved horses; they were his peace.&nbsp; Jim was also a good woodworker with his home lathe and saw, even though his family referred to November as the month Jim always hurt himself with the saw.&nbsp; He also loved fishing in Michigan and especially the Manistee River in Wellton, Michigan.&nbsp;

 His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife Kim Wynn of Herington, mother Linda Barnett of Delton, MI, daughter Brianna (Isaac) Goldman of Herington; grandchildren Anastasia and Alexia Goldman of Herington; sister Michelle (Rob) Blackburn of Delton, MI; brother Michael (Debbie) Barnett of Richland, MI; and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; 

Jim passed away at his home on Saturday, November 5, 2022.&nbsp; 

His family will gather with friends on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate his life and at a later date at his mother’s home in Michigan to scatter his ashes.&nbsp;

Raymond F. Tremblay, age 88, entered into rest on November 6, 2022 at his home in St. Joseph, Kansas surrounded by his family. &nbsp;He was born October 12, 1934 in Clay County, Kansas to Phillip and Mary (Bachamp) Tremblay.

Ray was a 1952 graduate of Clyde High School.&nbsp; Ray served in the United States Army from 1957 ~ 1959; he was honorably discharged.

Ray married Irene Chavey on October 2, 1965 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union two daughters were born, Kaylene and Lana.

He was an automotive mechanic and owned and operated Tremblay Repair in St. Joseph for more than 50 years.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, KS.; past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph, KS.; 3rd&nbsp;and 4th&nbsp;Degree Knights of Columbus Council #1999, Clyde, KS; VFW Post #7515 of Clyde, KS.; Clifton American Legion Post # 227.

His hobbies included car restoration, and most of all spending time with his beloved family.

Ray is Survived by his wife Irene of the home in St. Joseph, KS; two daughters, Kaylene DeRusseau and husband Marc, of Clyde, KS; Lana Moore and husband Andy, of Clyde, KS; &nbsp;three grandchildren, Beau DeRusseau and wife Mollie, Dani Lambert and husband Michael, and Raelynn Moore; &nbsp;two great-grandchildren, Kane and Deekon Lamber,t all of Clyde, KS; sister Agnes Giroux, Loveland, CO; sister-in-law Jean Sorell and husband Steve, St. Joseph, KS; sister-in-law Beth Chavey, Clay Center, KS; brother-in-law Mark Chavey and wife Julie, Merriam, KS; sister-in-law Sue Chavey, Manhattan, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marceline B. Weaver, brother-in-law, Tom Chavey.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m., all at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde.&nbsp; A Knights of Columbus rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. in the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating and Fr. John Wolesky co-celebrating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph, KS. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #7515, Clyde, KS.

Dennis R. Henkel passed away Sunday November 6, 2022 at his home in Chapman at the age of 75. He was born April 3, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Sylvester and Lorraine (Roesch) Henkel. Following high school, Dennis attended college and later served with the Maryland State Police of over 28 years before retiring. On November 9, 1968 Dennis was united in marriage to Sally Clatterbuck in Baltimore. Dennis loved spending time with his family and reading but his true passion was bass fishing, He is survived by his loving wife Sally of the home, son Michael and his wife Mary Henkel of Chapman, grandchildren Christopher of Gilbert, Arizona, Dustin of Cave Creek, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wayne. Services for Dennis will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Chapman with Pastor Ken Trickle officiating.
