The magic of the wizarding world will come to Salina Central High School this April as the Mustangs Central Theatre and Thespian Troupe 639 present Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, High School Edition.
Based on the original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, this adaptation brings the eighth installment of the beloved Harry Potter series to life on the high school stage. Audiences can expect captivating performances and enchanting storytelling as students take on the challenge of conjuring magic through their creativity and theatrical talents.
The production will take place at the Salina Central High School Auditorium with performances scheduled for:
April 4 at 7 p.m.
April 5 at 7 p.m.
April 6 at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They can be purchased online or at the box office one hour before each performance. For more information and ticket purchasing options, visit our.show/chstroupe639/hpcursedchild.
The play follows the story of Harry Potter’s son, Albus, as he befriends Draco Malfoy’s son and embarks on an extraordinary journey that could alter the past and future.
Barbara Hilt, director and theatre instructor at Salina Central, praised the dedication of the students involved.
“This production is one of the most difficult that our Repertory Theatre class has been challenged with so far,” Hilt said. “Last year, they took on Shakespeare, and this year presents a new challenge with all of the technical elements of this production. However, the students are up to the task, and we have some magic in store.”
