Salina Public Schools—Troupe 639
Troupe 639 attended the International Thespian Festival this summer in June, presenting their chapter select production representing the state of Kansas for the fourth consecutive year. This year’s presentation was *The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee*. To earn this honor, students competed at the Kansas Thespian Festival in January 2024, securing first place in the one-act competition.
Students also qualified for eight different Thespys (individual events competition) from either the Kansas Thespian Festival or the virtual qualifier hosted by the Educational Theatre Association or Texas Thespians. At the International Thespian Festival, students were adjudicated by a panel of three judges. Salina Central had two Thespy Category Winners this year, meaning they received a perfect score from all three judges, the highest honor in the Thespy program at the International Thespian Festival.
