Donice Elaine Edgerton&nbsp;went to be with Jesus, surrounded by her family, in the early hours Sunday March 17th, 2024 at her home in Miltonvale.

Donice was born December 13, 1947, to Leo and Eleanor Meurisse, in Brookville, KS, where she grew up and graduated from Brookville High School in 1965.

Siblings:&nbsp; RoseAnna Elam (Monte) and Lester Dale.

Donice married the love of her life, Ray on December 13, 1965.&nbsp; Together they had 4 children:&nbsp; Gary of Salina, Delisa Nelson (Rex) of Brookville, Daryl (Dana) of Brookville, and Deriece Fowler (Phil) of Miltonvale.&nbsp; There are 21 grandchildren:&nbsp; Cassandra Edgerton (Brett Windholz), Cody (Ashlynn), Derek, Tamra Davis, Dylan (Hayliegh Burkhart), Caden, Katrina (Austin Lambert), Nicholas (Kaitlyn), Elany Windholz (Jacob), Katelyn Edgerton, Dalen (Chloe Hulse), Alex (Jessica), Angela Primeaux (John), Nathan (Stashia), Logan, Kyle (Ashley), Jacey Comstock (Jacob), Teia Fowler, and Toby. 28 great grandchildren:&nbsp; Halle Windholz, Ellah Windholz, Lyla Grace, Conner Taylor, Jimmie Taylor, Kyle (Jr) Taylor, Wyatt Davis, Gracynn Nelson, Chloe, Maisie Zimmerman, Charles Windholz, Harper, Ethan Pellerin, Emily Pellerin, Madi, AnnaMae Windholz, Asher, John Jr. Primeaux, Reece Primeaux, Jesse Fowler, Allie Fowler, Rylee Primeaux, Amara Primeaux, Maddi Fowler, Haven Fowler, Milli Primeaux, Ashe Fowler, Isaak Fowler

Before retiring Donice enjoyed being the office manager for Hearing Healthcare of Salina for more than 20 yrs. Donice also worked for Sears in Salina for 10 yrs. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents (Eleanor &amp; Leo), brother (Lester Dale), brother in law (Monte), son in law (Rex), grandson (Derek), and great grandchild (Jessie).

Visitation will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm, with family present from 5pm to 7pm. at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Funeral mass will be Saturday at 10am at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina, with burial following in Brookville at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Larry Wayne Dicke, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.&nbsp;

He was born April 27, 1940 in Nashville, KS, the son of Henry Dicke and Martha (Westerman) Dicke.&nbsp;

Larry retired from Raytheon (Beech Aircraft) in Salina.&nbsp; He was Lutheran by faith, an avid golfer and in the U.S. Airforce for 4 years.

Survivors are his wife Connie Dicke of Salina; two daughters, Sondra Rickman (Paul) of Salina, and Debbie Berndt of Salina; three grandchildren, Joshua Rickman (April), Jessica Pfeifer (Tanner), Katelyn Berndt; four great-grandchildren, Seth Lepping, Garret Pfeifer, Kalea Pfeifer and Willow Rickman; one sister, Luella Hargett of Medicine Lodge, KS; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Martha, and by four brothers, his twin brother Harry, Leroy, Lloyd and Floyd.

Cremation has taken place. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 702 9th St and W. Crawford St, Salina, KS 67401.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Salina Municipal Golf First-Tee.

Vance Ryan McComber November 28, 2006 ~ March 15, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of&nbsp;Vance Ryan McComber, 17, who left us far too soon on March 15, 2024.&nbsp; He was a cherished and beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend.

Vance was born on November 28, 2006, in Emporia Kansas to Thomas McComber and Kristina Rowland (McComber).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was raised in Salina and attended Salina public schools through his Junior year in high school at Salina Central.&nbsp; While in high school he lived and breathed football and his teammates quickly became a second family to him.&nbsp; His commitment carried over to the off season where he found a love and dedication for weightlifting and fitness.&nbsp; Through this he would end up inspiring many family members and friends to lead a healthier lifestyle.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Vance was a talented auto mechanic who had a passion for fast loud cars, and he had a knack for fixing anything underneath the hood.&nbsp; He loved being involved with the local car community culture and was passionate about introducing it to anybody and everyone.&nbsp; He could literally talk about cars for hours on end every single day.&nbsp; He also enjoyed fishing, playing video games, listening to music, and just hanging out with his friends.

Vance will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.&nbsp; His smile and laughter were contagious, and he had a very loving and kind soul.&nbsp; Vance was a best friend to many.&nbsp;

Survived by his mom Kristina Rowland, stepfather Eric Rowland; sister Avery McComber, stepsiblings, Tyler Rowland, Hayden Rowland, Hannah McCubbin (Rowland); father Thomas McComber, stepmother Arianna Camarena; half-siblings Kynlee McComber, Briggs McComber, Brooke Dunn; grandparents Marilyn McComber, Linda McGill, Tarri Rowland, Charles Rowland, Betty Hueser.

Preceded in death by his grandfather Ronald McComber, David McGill, great-grandmother Esther Morris.

A memorial service will be 1 pm, Monday, March 25, 2024, at First Covenant Church, 2625 E Magnolia, Salina, Kansas.

Charles “Charlie” Montgomery November 23, 1934 ~&nbsp;March 14, 2024

Charles “Charlie” Montgomery, 89, died March 14, 2024, at Hester Care Center. He was born November 23, 1934, in Hutchinson, to Jacob and Ruth (Wilson) Montgomery.

Charlie graduated from Hutchinson High School. He went on to serve in the United States Army. Charlie worked for Phillips News for 35 years, eventually becoming the vice president. He then worked for 20 years as a truck driver for Arrow Trucking. In his younger years, Charlie loved to go bowling and was very good at it, he was even offered an opportunity to bowl professionally. Later in life, he and his wife Genny enjoyed playing golf together. Charlie also enjoyed woodworking and pheasant hunting, which was a family affair and opening day was treated as a holiday. He was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.

On August 30, 1962, Charlie married Genevieve “Genny” Shull in Dighton. She passed away September 24, 2018.

He is survived by: children, Diana Loveall, Salina, Doug Wallace, Topeka, Darlene Friesen, Hutchinson, Denise Frye (Randy), Hutchinson, Darcy Boor (Mark), Salina; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.&nbsp;

Charlie was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; four sisters; and son-in-law, Mickey Loveall.&nbsp;

Memorial service will be 1 pm &nbsp;Saturday, April 6, 2024,&nbsp;at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church. Private burial will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park at a later date. Friends may sign the book daily from 9 am to 5 pm.&nbsp;

Barbara Sue (Klein) Krentzel, 85 of McPherson, KS passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Pleasant View Home of Inman, KS.

Barbara was born on January 23, 1939, in Larned, KS, the daughter of DeLloyd Clarence Klein and Isabell Olive (Schasteen) Klein.&nbsp; She was the 3rd&nbsp;child born of 13 (6 sisters and 6 brothers).&nbsp; She graduated from Hanston High School in 1958.&nbsp; On May 28, 1958, Barbara was united in marriage to Marion Charles Krentzel in Hudson, KS.&nbsp; They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.&nbsp; This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters, Deborah and Deirdra (DeeDee).&nbsp; They started their married life in Hudson, KS, then Great Bend, KS, making McPherson, KS their home for the last 60 years.

Barbara or Barb, as she was referred to, had various jobs through the years including babysitting, McPherson County Courthouse, and several jobs in retail including Woolworths, JCPenney, Mary Ann Clothiers, and our local Health Food Market.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include:&nbsp; two daughters, Deborah (Rodney) Gerhardt and Deirdra “DeeDee” (Kevin) Nelson all of McPherson, KS; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff) Parker of Manhattan, KS, Tiara (Brandon) Boyd of Lawrence, KS, Levi (Courtney) Gerhardt of McPherson, KS, Dallas Nelson (Madison) of Kansas City, MO, and Darcie Nelson of McPherson, KS; five great-grandchildren, Layla Parker, Mason Gerhardt, Tinley Boyd, Avery Gerhardt, and Maren Boyd.&nbsp; She is also survived by brothers, Bob Klein of Fort Dodge, KS, Eldon Klein of Dodge City, KS, Jody Klein of Dodge City, KS, and Steve Klein of Enid, OK; sisters, Kay Parks of Manhattan, KS, Donna Sherman of Wichita, KS; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Krentzel, who recently passed, December 30, 2023; sisters, Carolyn Hertel of Garden City, KS, Phyllis Allison of Colorado Springs, CO, Ruby Rebel of Colorado, Pat Klein of Wichita, KS; and brothers, Richard Klein of Jetmore, KS, and Jack Klein of Dodge City, KS.

Rozetta Ann Wray, age 80, of Pomona, KS, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at her residence.  She was a member of the Eight Mile Old German Baptist Brethren Church.  She is survived by her children: Norma Jean (Dennis) Stamy of OR, Jerry (Nancy) Wray of KS, Larisa (Daryl) Strike of IN, daughter-in-law: Faith Wray-Bayer (Kevin) of OH, Brothers and Sisters: Donald (Janice) Crist of IN, Dorothy (Ross) Flora of PA, Ezra (Becky) Crist of IN, Laura (John) Wray of OH, David (Brenda) Crist of OH, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation in Kansas will be Tuesday, March 19 from 5-8 pm at the Eight Mile Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Visitation in Ohio will be Thursday, March 21 from 2-4 and 5-7 pm.  Funeral Services will be Friday, March 22 at 10 am.  Both will be held at the Salem Old German Baptist Brethren Church (Corner of Sweet Potato Ridge Rd. and Barnes Rd. Peggy Showalter June 14, 1935 ~ March 15, 2024

The sun did come up, but the world is a little darker because Peggy Showalter is no longer with us.&nbsp; She died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on March 15, 2024, at the age of eighty-eight.

Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1935, the daughter of W.H. (Bill) Monroe and Esther (Strickler) Monroe.&nbsp; Peggy was raised in Ray County, Missouri graduating from Orrick High School in 1953.&nbsp;&nbsp;

After graduating, she married the love of her life, Paul Kenneth Showalter on May 23, 1954.&nbsp; They happily celebrated over 60 years of married life.&nbsp; The newly married couple left for China Lake, CA where Paul began his career in the US Navy.&nbsp; During the first 30 years of their marriage Paul was often away on temporary duty and training missions.&nbsp; While he was gone Peggy was responsible for the entire household.&nbsp; This included plumbing, electrical, auto maintenance and repair along with the occasional childhood illness. During the following 30 years Paul vowed to make up for all the responsibly she had assumed and pampered her for all his remaining years. He passed away in 2015.

From California to Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, Kansas and beyond Peggy enjoyed being a Navy wife.&nbsp; She considered every move an opportunity to become part of another community, decorate a new home and visit different areas of the country. She became so accustomed to relocating that she and Paul moved three times in Lawrence alone.

Over the years she was employed at various offices.&nbsp; Her favorite occupation was being an at home mom to her three children for 20 years.&nbsp; Whatever the need in the classroom, her offspring were the first to raise their hand and proclaim, “My mom can do it.”&nbsp; All three had an unwavering conviction in her creativity, abilities and patience.

After Peggy’s children were older, she became an administrative assistant at the Institute for Learning Disabilities at The University of Kansas.&nbsp; She enjoyed her almost 20 years working with wonderful people, many becoming lifelong friends.

Born and raised in the “Show Me” state. After moving to Lawrence, she never looked back with her team allegiance. Along with Paul, she became an extreme Jayhawk fan.&nbsp; Traveling to nearly every basketball game both home and away during the 80s, 90s and beyond. Enjoying old friends and meeting new ones. They kept track of the years KU went to the Final Four using their grandson’s birth years. All but two were born in a Final Four season. It was said if the Hawks played on Saturn, Peggy &amp; Paul would find a way to get there.

Peggy had strong progressive opinions and knowledge about government and politics.&nbsp; An avid reader believing the concept that “all politics is local” and voted at every opportunity.&nbsp; During the last national election, she was not able to go to the polls in person.&nbsp; Although she insisted being driven to drop off her ballot in the box herself.&nbsp; It was her lifelong belief that the Electoral College was misguided and should be reconsidered.&nbsp; She requested that opinion be included in her obituary.

A doting grandma, she seldom missed any activity in which her grandkids participated.&nbsp; Peggy was famous for her Halloween costumes which the children loved.&nbsp; She was their greatest fan in every sense of the word.&nbsp;

Her grandchildren include Morgan Showalter of Tuscon, AZ (Nichole), Michael Monroe of Lawrence, KS (Benet), Cooper Gish, Lawrence, KS, Carter Gish, Dallas, TX, Camille Mars, Sarasota, FL (Eric), Garrett Mars, Tallahassee, FL, Skyler Mars, Lakewood Ranch, FL and Quintin Mars, Lakewood Ranch, FL.

She is survived by her daughters Paula Gish of Tonganoxie, KS (Stephen) and Deirdre (DeeDee) Mars of Lakewood Ranch, FL (Stephen).&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, brother Philip Daniel, sister Patricia and beloved son, David Kent.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Peggy’s family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, in Baldwin City.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at Ives Chapel Methodist in Baldwin City.&nbsp; Following service interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.

Dorothea “Aline” Luecke March 3, 1928 ~ October 19, 2023

Dorothea “Aline” Luecke, 95, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Sunset Home, Concordia, KS. She was born March 3, 1928, to Arthur and Sylvia (Ball) Lewis, and was a proud life-long Concordia resident.

After graduating from Concordia High School in 1946, she married Edwin “Ed” Luecke after meeting him on a blind date in 1947. She wanted to know, “is he tall?,” like her. They raised four children: John, Alan, Barbara and Karen. She often told her kids she hoped they found something they loved doing everyday as much as she loved to sew. Sewing combined her many abilities: designing with intricate construction, striving to find the most efficient method possible, and always completing all tasks with excellence. She liked doing things that lasted. For Aline, work was love made visible.&nbsp;

She was a Bell telephone operator for 10 years, and later was an optical technician for Dr.s Miller &amp; Owensby.&nbsp;&nbsp;Aline worked at the Orange Owl boutique, where she altered clothing to fit customers perfectly. She made alterations for most of the dress shops in town and ran a custom alteration business from her home until a stroke required a move to Sunset Home at age 91. Hundreds of people looked sharper because of Aline, and many bridesmaids and prom-goers more beautiful.

Aline became a legend in Seattle’s Fremont Solstice Parade workshop, where she made many costumes with experience honed through family Halloween celebrations. She eagerly taught sewing to participants, and once helped quilt a 20-feet wide stage curtain.&nbsp;

In addition to quilts, Aline designed and produced jackets and bags from repurposed denim jeans that she sold at a Belleville tourist center. Aline lost count of the number of Fair ribbons she won for her sewing projects.

Aline had an insatiable curiosity and loved learning new things until the day she died. She read over 730 books after her stroke. For many years, she proudly volunteered at the Cloud County Historical Museum as a docent, registrar and tour guide, and served on the Board. She worked tirelessly on the Whole Wall Mural steering committee, which is the longest carved-brick mural in the U.S. The Senior Citizens Center was a place of community for her, and she was its secretary for six years.&nbsp;

Aline was a life-long Trinity United Methodist member, who taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. For over 25-years she recorded sermons at the church and played them at Sunset Home for those who couldn’t attend church.

She enjoyed taking pottery classes at Cloud County Community College, and reading about science and medicine. She participated in Extension Home Unit lessons for decades, and also served as a Cub Scout Leader for her boys’ troops.&nbsp;

In 2013, Cloud County named Aline their “Sensational Sunflower” for her decades of civic volunteerism and because Aline “cares for her fellow man and is not afraid to help where she can.”

Aline had a zest for life and she said, “I love to go dancing with my husband. I love to go anywhere with my husband.”&nbsp;

Her husband Ed preceded her in death in 2002, her son John in 2018, daughter-in-law Dina in 2005, and her parents Arthur in 1986, and Sylvia in 1996. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Eleanor Springsted, Rogers, AK and her brother Ralph Lewis of Bath, ME; her daughters Barbara Luecke, Seattle, WA and Karen Luecke (Amy Hope), Lawrence, KS; son Alan Luecke (Cheryl), Kansas City, KS; grandchildren Margot DeMarco, Patrick Casey, Sarah Valentin, Ella Hope-Luecke, Aaron Luecke, Alex Luecke, Christina Wark and Stephanie Armstrong, along with great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. &nbsp;Family will greet friends immediately following the service with a reception and a luncheon to be served for all family and friends, all at the funeral home.

It was Aline’s wish to be cremated, with a private family interment to be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia on their family plot earlier on Saturday.

Amber Lynn Dowlin January 27, 1977 ~ March 16, 2024

Amber Lynn Dowlin, 47, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 in Lincoln. She was born January 27, 1977 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS while her parents (Leo and Janet Dowlin) and brother (Marin) were living on Highway 24 near the small town of St. George, KS (just outside Manhattan). When Leo’s fisheries biologist job required a move, she began school at Carbondale. But soon another move meant school in Independence, KS. Amber played the flute, but an abundance of flute players caused her band instructor to ask her to become a percussionist. This discussion proved to be very helpful when she became a member of the K-State Marching Band and was able to travel with the band on several bowl game trips. After graduation from K-State, Amber began 17 years of work at Wal-Mart in several positions, including supervisor. When she found out about a dispatcher position at the Kansas Highway Patrol, Amber applied and was hired. Her personal knowledge of several regions of Kansas proved to be very helpful for her.

Amber was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lincoln, KS. She loved her church family and enjoyed sharing her singing voice with them.

Amber is survived by her mother Janet Dowlin of Barnard and brother Marin Dowlin (Brandy) of Junction City, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Dowlin.

Visitation: noon-2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lincoln.

Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lincoln. Burial will follow at Milo Cemetery, Barnard.

Cynthia G. Mowat November 14, 1946 ~ March 16, 2024

Cynthia’s life began November 14, 1946, in Wichita. She is the daughter of Wesley Ward White and Florence (Rindt) White. She is a 1964 graduate of Centre High School. Cynthia was united in marriage to Robert David Mowat on April 9, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.

She worked at some local grocery stores, but her greatest job was raising her family. Cynthia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Herington and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed travelling on the Heartland Tours bus trips with friends, going to the Senior Center and her card club. One of Cynthia’s greatest joys was watching her grandchildren (and their dogs) and spending time with her family.

Cynthia is survived by her mother Florence White of Marion, children Suzi Ammann of Herington, Robert (Jennifer) Mowat of Galva, Jaime Potocnik of Lincolnville and Becky ( Richard Giroux) Mowat of Ramona; grandchildren Clayton Hughes, Kyler Ammann, Alexa Ammann, Madalynn Millspaugh, Trenton (Haley) Millspaugh, and Anthony Potocnik; great grandchildren Maci Kinser, Bryson Hughes, Ellie Hughes, and Addy Hughes. &nbsp;Cynthia passed away on Saturday March 16, 2024, at Salina Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and Pastor.

She is a 1964 graduate of Centre High School. Cynthia was united in marriage to Robert David Mowat on April 9, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.She worked at some local grocery stores, but her greatest job was raising her family. Cynthia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Herington and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed travelling on the Heartland Tours bus trips with friends, going to the Senior Center and her card club. Dorothy Youk passed away on March 16, 2024. Dorothy was born May 29, 1934 to E. O. and Mary (Winkley) Sandwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ed Sandwell and her beloved husband Dennis.&nbsp;

Dorothy was an accomplished musician and played the piano, organ and ukulele. In her public debut, Dorothy was the organist for the first Christmas Mass at the newly erected St. Mark Catholic Church of Marion in 1951. She always enjoyed playing her favorite song, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Dorothy was amused that she and the heroine of “The Wizard of Oz” were both Dorothys from Kansas. &nbsp;Upon graduation from Marion High School, Dorothy began her college career in 1952 with a scholarship at the newly founded St. Mary of the Plains College, Dodge City, Kansas. She graduated September 1955 from Wichita – St. Joseph School of Nursing. On October 4, 1955 Dorothy married Dennis Youk. They met at MHS when Dorothy was a freshman and Dennis was a senior. Evidently, it was love at first sight. They were married for 53 years before Dennis passed away August 6, 2009. Dennis and Dorothy raised their family of four children on their farm west of Durham.&nbsp;

She is survived by her daughter and three sons: Teresa Harris (Kevin), Roeland Park, KS; Jeff and Cathey Youk, Wichita, KS and their son Jeremy; Justin and Wendy Youk, Marion, KS; and Jarrod Youk, Hillsboro, KS and his sons Brandon and Creighton.&nbsp;

As a young, busy homemaker, Dorothy made time to read books and looked forward to receiving her Readers Digest book club selections. Throughout her life she wrote poetry, and actively collected poetry and verses. She channeled her artistic ambitions into creating gifts, especially her eagerly awaited birthday card collages for friends and family. She also enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally with family and friends. The annual family vacation to Woodland Park, CO was a highlight for many years. Dorothy’s nursing career began as an RN at Marion Manor nursing home, then clinic nurse in Lincolnville and Florence working with Dr. Don Hodson and Dr. Jeff Martin and completing her nursing career at St. Luke Hospital Marion. Gardening was very important to Dorothy and daisies were a favorite flower. She was well known to like bright colors and she delighted in indulging this in her choice of footwear, wearing bright yellow or orange loafers in the summer. You could see her coming from afar.&nbsp;Dorothy was involved in many community organizations. She enjoyed time spent participating in the Durham Home Circle Club and, after moving to Marion, the local P. E. O. Chapter and Twentieth Century Club. She was a past board member and gardener at Marion Public Library and board member at Marion Hilltop Manor. Her greatest satisfaction was volunteering at the Marion St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary Shoppe. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Church, Marion, and a past parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Tampa, and a member of the Altar Societies in both Churches. She will be greatly missed!&nbsp;

Georgia Marie Phillips January 7, 1928 ~ March 16, 2024

Georgia Marie Phillips, 96 of Abilene, Kansas passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Village Manor Nursing Home. Georgia was born on January 7, 1928 in Enterprise, Kansas, the daughter of George and Amy Haslouer. She grew up in the Enterprise area. She married Donald Phillips on September 22, 1947 at St. Andrew’s church in Abilene, KS. Don and Georgia had four children; Patricia, Jeanette, Sarah, and Charles.

Georgia was a homemaker during the early married years, and after the kids got into school, she worked for eight years as a nurses’ aide. She then drove a nine passenger school bus for the Chapman school district for six years. Georgia was a Girl Scout Leader for ten years and leader of the food’s class in 4H for six years. She enjoyed oil painting (many of which can be found in the children’s homes), gardening, and most any type of craft. She was also active in the Enterprise EHU group. She and Don had a standing monthly pinochle game with their Enterprise friends. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Abilene.

Her main interest was always with her children and grandchildren. She was always there for the kids growing up, but, she loved taking care of the grandkid’s; watching them for their parents, going to their sporting events, dances, 4H reviews, and anything else they might be involved in. To some of them she was the “orange” grandma, to others “Grandma Lambie”, but to all, greatly loved.

Survivor’s include: her children, Patricia Oglesby (Mike) of Goodyear, AZ; Jeanette Vahsholtz of Abilene, KS; Sarah Tidwell of Emporia, KS; and Charles Phillips (Jackie) of Enterprise, KS; eight grandchildren, Michelle Roeser (Rayne), Amanda Kay (Aaron), Travis Ramos, Philip Tidwell (Liesl), Chris Tidwell (Stephanie), Cassie Kolinski (Trevor), Callie Bell (TJ), and Carlie Huser (Adam); 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents (George and Amy Haslouer), her husband (Don Phillips), a grandchild (Curt Oglesby) and a great grandchild (Chance Ramos).

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Hospice of Dickinson County.

John Munson, Jr., was born June 2, 1943 in Salina, Kansas. The son of John and Evelyn Munson and departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2024.

John is survived by his wife, Jody Munson of Tescott; son, Mike and Cerci Munson of Salina; stepsons, Casey and Shannon Caughron of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Corey and Jill Caughron of Haslet, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cheryl Swaim; son, Jeffrey Munson; and daughter, Shelly Munson.

John thanks everyone who shared his life with him in good times and encouraged him throughout the more difficult times.

Honoring John's wishes, he was cremated and did not want any services.

Arvetta Fern Bethe March 21, 1928 ~ March 14, 2024

Arvetta Fern Bethe passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Brookdale – Salina – Fairdale Facility after a short illness. &nbsp;She was born March 21, 1928, at Kipp, Kansas to Clifford and Rosella (Thomas) Ireton.

At the age of six, her parents passed away in a house fire, and Arvetta and her sister, Mary Louise, and brothers Fred and Irvin were adopted. Arvetta was adopted by Alfred and Ethel Hawkinson of Salina. &nbsp;She attended public schools and Bethany College in Lindsborg, majoring in vocal music.

August of 1949, she married Warren E Bergquist of Smolan, Kansas. &nbsp;He preceeded her in death in an October 1950 due to a farm accident. &nbsp;To this union a daughter, Janice, was born.

August 1956, she married Harvey L. Miller of Salina and he preceeded her in death in April of 1987. &nbsp;To this union two daughters Anita and Rita were born and Harvey had a son, Curtis.

In June 1988, she married Charles Dean Bethe of Salina, and he passed away in July 2020. &nbsp;Dean had four children.

During her earlier years, Arvetta was a vocalist for a local radio station and later worked as a nurse aide at St John’s Hospital and had many rental properties in Salina.

Arvetta is survived by her three daughters: Janice (Robert) Beckham of Pittsburg, KS, Anita (Sam) Binder of Lenore, ID, and Rita Price and friend Mike Deans of Salina, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel. Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1:30pm at the First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis, Salina. &nbsp;Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1920 E Crawford Street, Salina. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Friday, March 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr Fred Gatschet as celebrant.&nbsp; Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.

Mary Ruth (Opat) Busch was born September 5, 1954, at McPherson Memorial Hospital, the daughter of Adam Bernard and Bertha Ann (Everhart) Opat.&nbsp; &nbsp;She went home to be with her Lord on March 15, 2024, after a massive stroke.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mary had a somewhat difficult life, getting polio on her first birthday, which affected her left side.&nbsp; She had multiple surgeries over the years, culminating with a complete shoulder fusion, which made her arm stop growing.&nbsp; Mary was told that she should not have any children due to the ether and other treatments that she had for the polio.&nbsp; So, she had planned on becoming a nun.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Then, in the summer of 1971, when she was only 16, she met the love of her life, Jody Lee Busch, who she married on January 29, 1972, in Wichita, KS.&nbsp; This marriage was blessed with six children, Adam, Jennifer, Crystal, Amy, Zach, and Annie.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jody; six children, Adam (Buffy) Busch, Jennifer (Chris) Strawn, Crystal (Henke) Galloway, Amy (Shawn) Busch, Zach (Chelsea) Busch, and Annie (Jason) Brown; 18 grandchildren, Jordan (Brittany) Busch, Katlynn (Gabriel) Wilson, Kimberlee (Josh) Cook, Darian (Cole) Taylor, Tate Galloway, Andrew Galloway, Jake Strawn, Jaycee Welch, Tobias Galloway, Haylee Busch, Kylee Busch, Teighlor Welch, Jandie Busch, Hunter Brown, Kaiden Brown, McKenna Galloway, Jonah Busch, and Ashcroft Busch; seven great-grandchildren, Owen Busch, Sophia Silva, Aubree Busch, Gabriel Wilson, Jr., Roman Wilson, Charlie Wilson, and Benton Cook; siblings, Steven (Maria) Opat, Julie (Phil) Kornelson, and Susan Hart; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam &amp; Bertha Opat; grandchild, Peyton Welch; grandparents, Frank &amp; Ruth Everhart and Martin &amp; Frieda Opat; and a brother, Michael Opat.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rosary following at 7:00 PM.&nbsp; The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Kerschen officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts, we share the news of Doctor Ronald Lee Young's departure from this world on March 9, 2024, in Salina, Kansas. Born on August 27, 1953, in Salina, Kansas, Ron's journey was one of passion, dedication, and immeasurable love.

From his early days, Ron was driven by a quest for knowledge and an eagerness to serve. His path led him to Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he graduated in December 1982. Soon after, he opened the doors of Young Chiropractic Clinic in 1983, embarking on a lifelong mission to heal and uplift those around him. His professional excellence was recognized through numerous accolades, including the esteemed Diplomate to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, a Certificate of Merit by the Acupuncture Society of America, and a Diplomate of Chiropractic Internist (DABCI).

Ron's spirit was not confined to his clinic alone. A black belt by 1979, he channeled his martial arts passion into founding the American Fighting Arts Academy. His dedication to the art was unparalleled, culminating in the honor of 8th Degree Black Belt and the revered title of Grand Master by the World Taekwondo Hanmookwan Federation.

His love for classic cars was another facet of his multifaceted life. As president of the Salina Mustang &amp; Ford Powered Club, Ron breathed new life into 1964-66 Ford Mustangs, sharing his restoration magic with fellow enthusiasts. His commitment to service shone brightly through his work with the Salina Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse and as a board member of Child Abuse Prevention Services, safeguarding the innocence of childhood.

Ron's influence extended into the realms of leadership and patriotism, earning him the Presidential Commission and the National Leadership Award from the National Republican Congressional Committee, a testament to his visionary leadership and civic engagement.

Above all, Ron was a family man at heart. His love story with Linda, his one life's love, began on February 1, 1974. Together, they nurtured a family of three daughters: Faith, Amber, and April, and a grandson, Jordan, who were the center of Ron's universe.

Ron leaves behind a legacy carried on by his daughters, Faith, Amber, and April; his grandson, Jordan; his ex-wife, Linda; and his sister, Debra Kirby. To numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces, he was much more than an uncle—he was a mentor, a guide, and a source of unwavering support.

As we prepare to bid farewell to Grand Master and Doctor Ron Young, we invite you to join us in celebrating his remarkable life&nbsp;Saturday, March 23rd 11:00am at the Higher Praise Church, 1220 Greeley Ave, Salina, KS. Karen passed away on March 6, 2024, in Salina, Kansas. She was born on February 14, 1941, in Ottawa County, Kansas to Joseph Emerie and Irene (Harris) Williams. Having grown up in the Minneapolis and Longford, Kansas communities she graduated from Longford Rural High School. Karen attended the University of Kansas, earning her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and then went on to earn a Master of Science in Home Economics-Family Studies from New Mexico State University.

In her professional life she was employed by St. Joseph Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Wichita, KS, Southern Arizona Mental Health Center, Tucson, AZ, Imperial County Health Center, El Centro, CA, Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children, El Centro, CA, Iselin Associates Inc., Tempe, AZ, and Mesa Public Schools, Mesa, AZ, from where she retired.

Karen was a pilot and a member of both the Ninety-Nines and Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed memberships in Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), Civil War Roundtable, and Westerners International.

Karen was a lifelong fan of University of Kansas basketball, she enjoyed quilting, reading, researching genealogy, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sisters, Dorothy Williams, Lenna Moeder (Willard), and Marva Adee (Evan). Milton L. Lott, 89, Minneapolis, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Milt was born October 10, 1934, on the family homestead near Bennington to Henry and Evelyn (McClellan) Lott.

Milt was a 1952 graduate of Minneapolis High School and he then served in the United States Army. He and Shirley J. Hofflinger were united in marriage on November 27, 1954. Milt was a postal carrier for over 25 years, but farming and being on a combine was his passion. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus #6778. Milt was also a member of the Minneapolis Jaycees. He served on the Minneapolis School Board, the Minneapolis Housing Authority, and he served as Chief of the Minneapolis Fire Department. Milt was also the voice of Minneapolis Lions Football for many years.&nbsp;

Milt loved going to all of his kids and grandkids’ sporting events and he never passed up an opportunity to play a game of pitch. He loved to sing songs to his grand and great-grandchildren even though he couldn’t carry a tune. If you knew Milt, you know he was always ready with a joke. The most important thing in his life was his family and his motto was, “Always try to make someone smile every day.”&nbsp; He was able to usually do that tenfold.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Willis and his wife, Sara Lott Burwell and Don Lott; brothers-in-law, Ben Bronson, Lynn Hendrixson, and John Johnson, Carl Hofflinger and his wife Peggy; and sisters-in-law, LaVada Istas and her husband, Buck, and Loma Demanett and her husband, Alfred

Survivors are his “bride” of 69 years, Shirley; children, Mike Lott and his wife Rose, Beth Nace and her husband, Tim, and Chris Lott and his wife, Diane; siblings, Vada Bronson, Tom Lott, Glen Lott and his wife, Mary, Linda Hendrixson, Curtis Lott and his wife, Cindy, and Ruth Johnson; sister-in-law, Leona Lott; grandchildren, Jake Lott and his wife, Hillary, Greg Lott and his wife, Sarah, Connor and Camryn Nace, and Garrett and Andie Lott; great-grandchildren, Carson and Emma Lott and Joley and Jace Lott; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
