Lorene grew up on the farm with her parents and sisters. She & Delmar raised their family on this family farm. She worked alongside Delmar, cooking for the crew, planting a large garden and driving a grain truck during harvest. She was involved in her United Methodist Church cluster group, a past Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School teacher.  She was a member of the West Riverside HEU group serving as an officer through the years.

Her hands were never idle, she was a wonderful seamstress, sewing many of her clothes.  She was a quilter, and a beautiful painter. Her family received many gifts of love she created through the years. She and her sister Audrey enjoyed traveling to painting classes & clinics through the years, it was a fun get away for both. Her gentle, humble spirit was an example to all her family. She was always offering to help wherever she could or saw a need. She looked for the good and the positive in all situations.

She and Delmar enjoyed traveling together. Swedish relatives visited Kansas in the 1970’s and they in turn invited Delmar and Lorene to visit Sweden, which they did. It was the trip of a lifetime. Niagara Falls, the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada are just a couple and later they took many bus trips to Branson MO.
