It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Lou (Lien) Zimmerman, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Jenni was born on May 3, 1967 in Salina, KS to Lois (Neinke) Holtz and Alan Marez, and later adopted by Jerry Holtz. Lois and Jerry nurtured her bubbly spirit and unwavering determination, and from an early age, Jenni demonstrated a rare blend of grace, compassion, and resilience that she carried throughout her life. As a daughter, she brought immense joy to her parents’ lives. Her bond with her siblings was equally profound, filled with cherished moments, shared laughter, and unwavering loyalty.

As a mother, Jenni was the heart of her family, always providing love and support. Her children were her greatest treasures and she took immense pride in their every achievement. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing their dreams and well-being, guiding them with her love, wisdom, and encouragement every step of the way. Jenni also opened her heart and home to Shelby Mai, embracing her as a daughter. Their connection was a testament to Jenni’s ability to create family wherever love was needed. She guided and supported Shelby with the same devotion and care she gave her own children, forming a lifelong bond that brought immeasurable joy and meaning to both of their lives.

Jenni embraced life with an adventurous spirit, oftentimes with her long-term partner Rich Zimmerman. She was never one to shy away from excitement, whether it was attending motorcycle rallies and feeling the thrill of the open road, or celebrating their love by getting married by Elvis in Las Vegas. Her zest for life was contagious, and she cherished every opportunity to create extraordinary memories with those she loved.

Her warmth extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a source of laughter and strength to those who knew her, embodying kindness and generosity in everything she did. With a laugh that could be heard in every corner of a packed gymnasium, she could always brighten even the darkest of moments. Whether through her career as a records clerk at the Salina Police Department, her friendships, or her everyday interactions, she left an indelible mark on the lives of others. She leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance that will continue to inspire those she touched.

Jenni is survived by her son: Kasey (Mykiala) Lien; Grandchildren: Everly Lien, Brek Lien; Siblings: Jeffrey Holtz, Jonathan “Jo” (Wendy) Holtz, Monica (David) Daniel-Palmer, Melissa (Vernon) Melder; Nieces/Nephews: Jacob Daniel, Colton Daniel, Mason Daniel, Alexis Holtz, Logan Holtz, Haylee Holtz, Cody Mayeux, Samantha (Cody) White; Great Nieces: Nya Holtz, Octavia Holtz.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Jenni is now reunited with many loved ones, including her daughter Keri Zimmerman and her mother Lois Holtz, whose love she carried in her heart every day. Her memory will remain a beacon of hope, love, and courage for all who were blessed to know her. Rest in peace, dearest Jenni. You will be forever loved and missed.
