Brenda Leigh House, 60, of Salina, Kansas, entered the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born on November 13, 1959 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of John Billy ( Jack) and Ida Faye House.&nbsp; She was a retired member of the environmental services team at Kansas State University.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Brenda was a proud Mom and even prouder Grandmother.&nbsp; her favorite thing in the entire world was to spend time with her grandchildren; Joshua, Sherida, and Erica.&nbsp; she loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.&nbsp; She thoroughly enjoyed watching and cheering on the Green Bay Packers with her family.&nbsp; She loved and followed the teachings of Jesus, she taught Serenity and Deja to do the same.&nbsp; Her family would find her humming or singing her favorite Garth Brooks tunes anytime day or night.&nbsp; During her years at Kansas State, she developed and cherished the relationships she was able to make with students and staff.

She is survived by her daughters, Serenity ( Travis) Johnson and Deja House; her grandchildren, Joshua, Sherida, and Erica; plus numerous friends and acquaintances.

Per her request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Watson Room in The Stiefel Theatre, 151 South Santa Fe, Salina, Kansas.

Shirley Jacques died October 7 at home at age 89. Shirley served 18 years as Saline County Clerk, and was involved in politics at the local, state and national levels. In addition she was involved in&nbsp; numerous civic organizations over many years.

Born May 29, 1931 in Delphos to Leo and Jessie Allison, Shirley grew up in Ottawa Co., attended KSU, and was married in 1951 to Robert Jacques. They moved to Salina in 1965.

Shirley is survived by three children, Paula, Brent, and Kate Jacques, and has two grandchildren, Melissa and Matt.

No services are planned at this time owing to Covid, however a reception will be held at a later date.

ELIZABETH ANN WOHLGEMUTH DUCKERS MAY 2, 1934 – OCTOBER 11, 2020

Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Duckers was born on May 2, 1934 to Edward and Thelma (Fleer) Wohlgemuth in Atchison, Kansas. Liz grew up on a farm in rural Atchison near Cummings, Kansas.

Liz attended White Clay, a one-room country school, completing eight years of schooling in seven years. She attended and graduated from Atchison High School in 1951, and matriculated to the University of Kansas, graduating from KU in 1955 with a B.S. in Journalism. While at KU, Liz was Executive Editor of the University Daily Kansan and served on six other staff positions on the Kansan. While in college, Liz worked as a freshman dorm counselor where she mentored several freshmen women who became leaders in the state of Kansas. Upon graduation from college, Liz was a general news reporter and columnist for the Salina Journal from 1955-57, and later worked as the Journal’s Church page editor. Liz was the public information officer for St. John’s Military School from 1959 to 1993, handling all publications and public relations for the school. Even after retirement, Liz continued to volunteer to edit and proof-read the school’s newspaper “The Skirmisher.”

Liz married Keith G. Duckers in 1957 and lived on campus at St. John’s Military School from 1957 to 1993, where Keith was to become president of the School in 1968. Liz was named an “Honorary Colonel” of SJMS and was a member of the Muleskinners organization. Keith predeceased her in 2007.

Her civic involvements included being an officer and board member of the Asbury Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the St. John’s Hospital Pediatric League, a charter member of the Salina Charity League, office and member of Chapter ED of P.E.O., member of Current Literature Club, AAUW, Civitan and the League of Women Voters. She served four terms on the Salina Planning Commission, including being chairperson, two terms on the Salina Heritage Commission, including being chairperson and one term on the Board of Zoning Appeals. She served as President of the Native Daughters of Kansas for the 1998-99 term.

Liz was active in politics and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1988. She also won the Republican primary for county commissioner in 1986.

Liz was a licensed insurance agent in Kansas and worked for Mutual of Omaha and Metropolitan Life insurance companies. She was a graduate of the Life Underwriting Council and served as President of the Salina Association of Life Underwriters, the first woman to serve in that position.

Liz is survived by her three children: Ed (wife Roxane) of Kentfield, CA, Kyle (wife Larina) of Manhattan Beach, CA and Sarah (husband Mark) of Bellaire, Texas, and seven grandchildren: Christopher Duckers, Chaffee Duckers, Lisa Duckers, Landon Duckers, William Davidson, Tommy Davidson and Alexandra Polidora. Other survivors are her four sisters: Janet Carol Wohlgemuth, Dorothy Lynch, Joan Musbach and Lois Stanton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Chancellor’s Club at the University of Kansas or the St. John’s Military School Museum in Salina, Kansas. A memorial service will be held in Salina in the spring of 2021. In the meantime, we know Liz would appreciate you raising a glass of your favorite beverage in her honor.

&nbsp; Patricia “Patty” E. Anderson, 63, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2020, with her family by her side at Ascension-Via Christi St. Francis RMC, Wichita. She retired from Pfizer where she was a light tester. Patty was born on October 14, 1956, in Germany, the daughter of Harold and Eleanore (Crocker) Debenham. She graduated from Abilene High School (Abilene, KS) and Bethany College (Lindsborg, KS). On May 9, 1981, Patty was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Anderson in Abilene. This union was blessed with two sons, Thomas “Tom” and Cody. Jerry preceded Patty in death on January 6, 2016, and Cody on January 11, 2018. She attended the McPherson Free Methodist Church and was a former Cub Scout leader and PTA volunteer. Charlie E. Thrush (Sgt. Charlie, 57) tragically passed away on October 5, 2020 in rural Lincoln County. He was a patriotic man that served 22 years in the Army. Our country/military meant the world to him. He always said that serving in the Army meant duty and honor for him, and he would go back in a heartbeat if he was needed.

Charlie lived a happy, ornery and content life on the farm with his family. His family and the animals meant the world to him. He was a man that loved deeply and cherished his abundance of family and friends. Charlie had a heart of gold and would try to help anyone no matter what, whenever he could. Helping farmers out anytime he was needed was an enjoyment of his as well. He definitely was a people person. Charlie attended Bethany Church in Hunter, KS. He would not want all of us to be sad during this time but remember the good times and move on.

Charlie was born July 12, 1963 in Indianapolis, IN to Cloyce Everette Thrush and Candis Elizabeth (Herald) Thrush. He then lived in Louisville, KY with his parents before moving to Solomon, KS with his mom. He married Doris Kottman on March 28, 2008 in Junction City, KS.

He set the first stake in the prairie. That’s what my dad always told people about Circle E Feedlot. The feedlot was his life for six decades. Work for my dad was something of a religion. He poured himself into every project he undertook. Many times I’ve seen him come up with an idea, draw it out, go to the shop and make it, and then install it. Beyond these more creative endeavors, he liked “getting the job done.” He knew how to do a lot things: welding, plumbing, carpentry, heavy equipment. The list goes on. Much of this work was dangerous. He didn’t always escape those dangers, but injury or illness did not stop him. Even after he supposedly “retired” in the early 2000s, he still “consulted” at the feedlot, now named Windmill Ranch. He was working there as of several weeks ago, before his final decline began.

Anyone from Potwin and surrounding areas knows that he worked tirelessly for the community as well from the early 1980s onward. I found this somewhat of a surprise at first. Early in his life, dad had never been outgoing, but in 1981 (as I recall) the feedlot changed hands. We had been living on land the feedlot owned, and in a matter of a couple weeks, my parents were cast out of the country and into the metropolis of Potwin. I figured dad would hate it, but Potwin became another project. He got himself elected to city council in short order, and then he became the mayor. He’s been in that job for thirty-three years. Beyond that, he joined the Lions Club. Bit of a shocker there. But of course he threw himself into that as well, eventually becoming a district governor in the late 90s. Then there was Kansas Pride, Plant a Row, and who knows what else.

Work and community occupied much of his time, but fishing took up the rest. And for him, fishing was work. He loved crappie fishing and limb lining for channel and flathead. If all else failed, he’d catch a bunch of tiny bluegill. Anything to “stretch the line.” Of course he could not just pursue the sport; he also started up a custom crappie jig business. In the 1970s, he operated a fish farm for several years on top of all the work at the feedlot. He also enjoyed other outdoor stuff: camping, gardening, and hunting (early in life).

Dad grew up rural, Mennonite, and poor. Much of his life went to overcoming that. I think he probably wished he had more children, but my parents could not have them. I was it. But he gave me all the time he had. The same goes for my mom. He loved her more than anything, and her passing in 2015 knocked him down in a way he could not fully beat. He’s with her now, probably organizing some new project.

Dean’s life began on April 1, 1938, the son of Alfred and Alma (Boese) Schmidt near Galva, Kansas. He married Vera June Unruh on April 22, 1956 at Eden Mennonite Church in Burns, Kansas. They enjoyed almost 59 years together before her passing in March of 2015.

Dean worked most of his adult life at Circle E Feedlot near Potwin, retiring as Operations Manager. He served as the mayor of Potwin for 33 years. He enjoyed memberships with the Lions Club, Kansas PRIDE, Plant a Row for the Hungry, and numerous governing boards in Butler County.

His loving family includes his son and his wife, Jim Schmidt and Andrea Smalley of Nora, Illinois; grandchildren, Mike Banghart (Holly) and Andrew Banghart; great-granddaughter, Clarrisa Banghart; brothers, Clinton Schmidt (Kathleen) of Brainerd, Kansas and Alfred “Toby” Schmidt, Jr. (Shirley) of Whitewater, Kansas; sisters, Helen Russell and Carrie Gutscher both of Newton, Kansas, Esther “Jeannie” Koehn of Lamar, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera; and a brother in childhood, Warren. Dean passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2020, at the age of 82 years old.

His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, October 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater. There will be a private family graveside. On Wednesday, October 14, at 4:30 p.m., the family would like to invite the community to a memorial gathering at the outdoor Lions Club shelter at 201 N. Miller, Potwin, Kansas for fingerfood and fellowship.

Many times I’ve seen him come up with an idea, draw it out, go to the shop and make it, and then install it. Beyond these more creative endeavors, he liked “getting the job done.” He knew how to do a lot things: welding, plumbing, carpentry, heavy equipment. The list goes on. Much of this work was dangerous. He didn’t always escape those dangers, but injury or illness did not stop him. Even after he supposedly “retired” in the early 2000s, he still “consulted” at the feedlot, now named Windmill Ranch. He was working there as of several weeks ago, before his final decline began.Anyone from Potwin and surrounding areas knows that he worked tirelessly for the community as well from the early 1980s onward. I found this somewhat of a surprise at first. Early in his life, dad had never been outgoing, but in 1981 (as I recall) the feedlot changed hands. We had been living on land the feedlot owned, and in a matter of a couple weeks, my parents were cast out of the country and into the metropolis of Potwin. I figured dad would hate it, but Potwin became another project. He got himself elected to city council in short order, and then he became the mayor. He’s been in that job for thirty-three years. Beyond that, he joined the Lions Club. Bit of a shocker there. But of course he threw himself into that as well, eventually becoming a district governor in the late 90s. Then there was Kansas Pride, Plant a Row, and who knows what else.Work and community occupied much of his time, but fishing took up the rest. And for him, fishing was work. He loved crappie fishing and limb lining for channel and flathead. If all else failed, he’d catch a bunch of tiny bluegill. Anything to “stretch the line.” Of course he could not just pursue the sport; he also started up a custom crappie jig business. In the 1970s, he operated a fish farm for several years on top of all the work at the feedlot. He also enjoyed other outdoor stuff: camping, gardening, and hunting (early in life).Dad grew up rural, Mennonite, and poor. Much of his life went to overcoming that. I think he probably wished he had more children, but my parents could not have them. I was it. But he gave me all the time he had. The same goes for my mom. He loved her more than anything, and her passing in 2015 knocked him down in a way he could not fully beat. He’s with her now, probably organizing some new project.Obit:Dean’s life began on April 1, 1938, the son of Alfred and Alma (Boese) Schmidt near Galva, Kansas. He married Vera June Unruh on April 22, 1956 at Eden Mennonite Church in Burns, Kansas. They enjoyed almost 59 years together before her passing in March of 2015.Dean worked most of his adult life at Circle E Feedlot near Potwin, retiring as Operations Manager. He served as the mayor of Potwin for 33 years. He enjoyed memberships with the Lions Club, Kansas PRIDE, Plant a Row for the Hungry, and numerous governing boards in Butler County.His loving family includes his son and his wife, Jim Schmidt and Andrea Smalley of Nora, Illinois; grandchildren, Mike Banghart (Holly) and Andrew Banghart; great-granddaughter, Clarrisa Banghart; brothers, Clinton Schmidt (Kathleen) of Brainerd, Kansas and Alfred “Toby” Schmidt, Jr. (Shirley) of Whitewater, Kansas; sisters, Helen Russell and Carrie Gutscher both of Newton, Kansas, Esther “Jeannie” Koehn of Lamar, Missouri.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera; and a brother in childhood, Warren. &nbsp; Geneva Justine Hobbs earned her wings on October 10, 2020. Geneva was born on her family farm Northeast of Glen Elder November 3, 1930 to John Irvin Rarick and Ruth Irene (Fobes) Rarick. Geneva was the oldest of 3. 

She is preceded in death by her father John Rarick and her mother Ruth Rarick, her sisters Bonnie George and Peggy Rarick and her husband Arthur Hobbs. 

Geneva attended Prairie Gem #106 in Mitchell Co. Graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1948. After attending KW4 one summer she began teaching at age 17. her teaching career extended for 43 years. Seven years in rural schools in Mitchell and Lincoln Co. Five years teaching 4th grade in Enterprise and 31 years teacing 1st grade at Grandview Plaza. 

Geneva and Art were united in marriage on July 11, 1953 at the Glen Elder Christian Church, the church in which she accepted the Lord and was baptized in. 

The Hobbs lived one year in Hunter, and one year in Lincoln then moved to what became their family farm near Enterprise, Kansas on August 1, 1955. On this farm the raised 4 children: Randy (Connie) Hobbs of Ogden, Kansas; Kaye (Herb) Burgett of Chapman, Kansas; Ron (Debbie) Hobbs of Pittsburg, Kansas and Rose (Rich) Knight Ft. Wayne, Indiana. 

4-H was important to Geneva she had been a member of west Beloit Club for 10 years and then a leader of Swenson Creek Rustlers for 19 years. In later years she enjoyed watching her grandkids showing and enjoying 4-H. 

The family attended the First Baptist Church a mile from their home. Geneva taught Sunday School classes when her children were younger and for many years she was involved with Bible School. 

Geneva attended summer schools from 1949 to 1962. Then she attended more summer and night classes and got her M.S. from K.S.U. in 1983. For 35 years she was a student as well as a teacher. 

The Hobbs family enjoyed traveling and Geneva continued traveling after she retired. 

Geneva also enjoyed seeing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Geneva will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Enterprise. Calling hours will be from 9AM until 5PM on Friday, October 16 at Danner Funeral Home. Mary Frances Richards, 91 passed away October 10, 2020 at Abilene Place. She was born July 23, 1929. 

She married November 11, 1949 to William Richard. He preceded her in death in 2001. 

Lowell, Michigan was their home for most of their married life. Mary truly enjoyed her years with the Lowell area schools. 

Her heart was always with her church, playing the piano, bowling and jigsaw puzzles were her favorite pastimes. 

Surviving are daughter, Shelley (Alan) Carroll of Abilene, Son, Roy Richard of Lowell. Sister, Madelyn Olson of Madison, Wisconsin and brother Ivan (Lois) Dremann of Ohio, Illinois. Beside 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren in Michigan. She will be missed by her granddaughters, Jill (Clay) Becker and Shelley (Scott) Rosebrook. Mary’s great-grandchildren are Heather and Haley Harcrow, Joshua Angst, Mitchell, Matthew and Thomas Rosebrook. Great-great-grandchildren: Audiel, Giovanni , Brizia, Eisley, and Vera. 

The family would especially like to express its gratitude to the wonderful care givers and friends at Abilene Place. Also, the ladies from the Hospice.

Mary Frances Richards

Pamela "Pam" Elaine Keller, 60, of Salina, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at North Kansas City Hospital, Hospice House, with her children by her side. Pam was born on January 26, 1960 in Salina, KS. She graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1978 and then attended Fort Hays State University. Shortly after graduation, Pam began her career in Salina, KS as a teacher.

Pam taught for 35 years at St. Mary's Catholic Grade School. First, as the 4th grade teacher, and later as the Librarian. She was a caring, thoughtful, and patient teacher and was well loved and respected by both the students and her fellow teachers. Every year, Pam participated in a National Geographic contest allowing her to share her love of Geography and Social Studies with her students. Each new school year brought a new country or region of the world for her students to discover and sometimes she was even able to take learning trips to discover those places in person. Above all, Pam took joy in sharing Kansas's History with her students and taking them to visit Topeka, our state's Capitol, on field trips. International Pancake Day activities were led by Pam who hosted an annual pancake race for the students. Pam's infectious sense of humor shone in her stories, jokes, and her contagious laugh; she always lit up the room. As a librarian, Pam shared her love of reading, inspiring the next generation of students to become readers. Pam made each story she read aloud to the students unique by adding different voices for the characters. Pam delighted in suggesting books to her students or reading books they suggested to her. Pam's passion for education made a lasting impact on the students at St. Mary's Catholic Grade School as well as the future students who will no doubt enjoy the traditions she established at the school.

Aside from Pam's career, her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother. Pam was a devoted mother to Brandon and Casey. Pam always made time to be a part of Brandon's Boy Scout Troop, Casey's Baton events, and both kids' sports. Her greatest passion was spending time with her children and supporting them in all of their accomplishments. Pam was glad she was able to see both of her kids graduate from college, start careers, and fall in love. Pam was able to be there for Brandon and Shannon on their wedding day, something they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Pam was active in her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, Catholic Daughters, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She surrounded herself with friends from every season of her life. Once you were in Pam's life, she held you in a special place in her heart. Pam was very family oriented, spending as much time as she could with her extended family and claiming many of her great nieces and nephews as her own grandchildren. She also spent time with Craig Ballou, her special friend. She loved spending time with her sisters and helping with the family harvest. Pam left behind many personalized Scrabble boards for her loved ones and scrapbooks of their travels. Traveling with friends and family was one of Pam's passions, her trip to Ireland topping them all.

She leaves behind her daughter Casey Keller; and son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Shannon Keller; siblings, Karen, Nadine, Lisa, Dallas, and Robert; 15 nieces and nephews; and 17 great nieces and nephews.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents John "Bob" and Marion Breen; siblings Dennis, Douglas, Colleen, Kathy, Mary Ann, and twin infant sisters; niece Darci; and nephew Jeremy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 17, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina.

John Everett Thelander, 78, of Salina, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020. He was born June 9, 1942 in Salina to Melvin and Edith (Applequist) Thelander.

John married Sharon Taylor on December 30, 1963. He owned and operated East Crawford Vickers from 1967-83 before farming fulltime. He was a member of First Covenant Church in Salina.

During his life he raced boats, drag raced cars, raced motorcycles, and more recently built hot rods.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Sharon; son, John R. Thelander (Kellie), of Salina; sister, Elaine Morse (Paul), of Marion; grandchildren, Kajsa Erickson (Alex), Jacob, Kaitlyn, Josiah (Emilee), Klaira and Karley Thelander; and great-grandson, Jeffrey.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with family present from 6-8.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at First Covenant Church, Salina, with burial to follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

John Everett Thelander

Leland G. “Chuck” Kindall, 79, Minneapolis, died Saturday, October 10, 2020.&nbsp; He was born June 16, 1941 on the family farm near Minneapolis to Lester A. and Mildred (Runtf) Kindall.

Chuck was 1959 graduate of Minneapolis High School and he served in the United States Army Reserves for seven years. Chuck and Alice Lawson were united in marriage on March 15, 1970. He was a longtime farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Evan (Susie); and sister, Barbara (Lon Dean) Crosson.

Survivors are his wife, Alice; son, Charlie (Melissa) Kindall; daughter, Radonna Kindall; brother, Neal (Kay) Kindall; mother-in-law, Martha Lawson; three grandchildren, Paden (Brittney) Kindall, Talon Horton (Hannah), and Brooke Boyer (Colton Bryant); and two great-grandchildren, Luke Boyer and Sawyer Kindall.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 14 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Leland G. “Chuck” Kindall

Marion M Lesovsky, “Spunt or Spunty” (aka Grandpa Leshy) was born on December 14, 1923, the son of George &amp; Francis (Blazek) Lesovsky and left this earth on October 8, 2020, at the age of 96.&nbsp;

He attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse, Silverthorne and graduated from Cuba High School in 1942.&nbsp; Marion continued his education through banking schools throughout his career.

Marion served as Sgt in the US Army National Guard during WWII.&nbsp; After returning home from the military, Marion helped on the family farm.&nbsp; On May 20, 1950, he went to work at The First National Bank in Belleville and retired on January 19, 1988, after 38 years of service.

On September 19, 1950, he married Bonnie M. (Wiruth) Lichtenhan and was blessed with two daughters, Raceile and Victoria.

After retiring from the bank, Marion enjoyed investing his time working for Purple Splash for 25 years where he continued to serve the public.&nbsp; That is what kept him young all those years and he enjoyed visiting with the customers.

He was a member of The United Presbyterian Church of Belleville, where he regularly attended, and served as Deacon, Treasurer for many years and on the Session Board.&nbsp; He also served as treasurer for the Cuba and Belleville Schools and continued his treasurer duties for the NCK Health Care Foundation as well as volunteered his knowledge and time as a Trustee for Estates for several people in the community.

Marion was a member of the Belleville Lodge #129 A.F. &amp; A.M. for 72 years, William Fleming Legion Post #345, Cuba, KS for 60 years, member of the Shriners Lifetime for 70 years, a member of the Lion’s Club for 65 years (transferred from Cuba in 1967) with a “Perfect Attendance” for the 65 years, member of the Belleville Coffee Club and served on the Health Care Foundation and the Fair Amusement Board.

K-State was his number one college team and he and Bonnie attended football and basketball games for many years. Of course, he introduced that love to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp; Marion’s support for the local schools and community was so important to him.&nbsp; While his grandchildren were in school, he attended most of the football and basketball games, along with track, cross-country, golf and baseball games.&nbsp; Not only those events but also supported school plays, the Marching Buffs, jazz band, vocal concerts but his main love was the concert band.&nbsp; He did his best to support them all.&nbsp; Socializing was what Marion loved.&nbsp; Those coffee gatherings (and coffee betting) at Arbuthnot Drug, Goose Crossing and the Country Club where he enjoyed seeing his friends every day, were so important to him. His best friend, even though he rooted for KU, (Dave Black), shared that cup of coffee every day and always bet on those KU vs KSU games.&nbsp;

Marion is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Leon, Glenn, George and Vincent, wife Bonnie and special friend Alice Wiruth.

 </figure>Marion M Lesovsky, “Spunt or Spunty” (aka Grandpa Leshy) was born on December 14, 1923, the son of George &amp; Francis (Blazek) Lesovsky and left this earth on October 8, 2020, at the age of 96.&nbsp;He attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse, Silverthorne and graduated from Cuba High School in 1942.&nbsp; Marion continued his education through banking schools throughout his career.Marion served as Sgt in the US Army National Guard during WWII.&nbsp; After returning home from the military, Marion helped on the family farm.&nbsp; On May 20, 1950, he went to work at The First National Bank in Belleville and retired on January 19, 1988, after 38 years of service.On September 19, 1950, he married Bonnie M. Carolyn Wallace

Sylvia's life began on July 24, 1924 in Pilsen.  She was the daughter of John and Victoria (Franta) Svitak. 

 Sylvia attended grade school in Pilsen and graduated from Lincolnville High School.  

Not long after graduation Sylvia went to work at the Pilsen State Bank, followed by the Lincolnville State Bank and the Ramona State Bank.   Sylvia worked as a bookkeeper for the Marion Sale Barn and later the Herington Sale Barn.  She was good with numbers and had a quick wit which she used on her family and in business too.  

Sylvia was united in marriage to Paul S. Bezdek on November 5, 1945 and enjoyed many years of marriage, raising two daughters, cultivating their garden, keeping a dairy, very involved on the farm and living a good life. 

 Sylvia was a parishioner of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen, and St. Anne's Altar Society. 

 She loved to Polka dance, a big part of her life as Paul was a drummer in a Polka band for many years.  Sylvia loved to attend the dances at the Pilsen Community Center. 

 The one thing she disliked weeds and could swing a mean corn knife. She took pride in keeping the farmyard mowed. 

  Sylvia's greatest joy was her family which includes her daughters Paulette Holub of Lost Springs and Marcia (Dan) Falen of Hope; grandson Greg (Pam) Holub of Lost Springs; great grandchildren Gentri Holub, Kelsi (Marshall) Hopkins, Zachari Slayden. Jerami Slayden, Amanda Cooper, and Tony Creekmore; and ten great great grandchildren. 

 Sylvia passed away on Friday October 9, 2020 at St. Luke's Living Center. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, brothers Paul and George Svitak and son in law Gerald Holub. 

 Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion where a rosary service will be held at 6 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen. Dolores C. Kieffer, age 89 of Clifton, KS passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born on Jan. 22, 1931 in Hanover, KS to Henry G. &amp; Veronica C. (Eckart) Ruhkmap.

Dolores attended St. John’s Catholic School in Hanover.&nbsp; She married Alvin J. Kieffer on Feb. 15, 1949 in Hanover, KS.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on April 12, 2012.&nbsp; Dolores was a homemaker and active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clifton, St. Mary’s Altar Society and sang in the church choir.&nbsp; Dolores was an avid quilter and made a quilt for each of her 9 children, each of her 17 grandchildren and as many great grandchildren as possible until she was unable to continue quilting.&nbsp;

She is survived by her 9 children, Michael Kieffer (Jean), Liberty, MO, James Kieffer (Carol), Yakima, WA, Veronica Conkwright (Stan), Manhattan, Frank Kieffer, Medford, OR, LaDonna Tabayoyon (Al), Tigard, OR, Catherine Koch (Jerry), Clyde, Fr. Joseph Kieffer, Hanover, Stephen Kieffer (Paula), Clifton &amp; Rose Klataske (Daryl), Galva; a sister, Rita Alexander, Clifton; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren &amp; 2 step great grandchildren.

Dolores C. Kieffer

Aubrey W. Bostwick, 99, of Salina, passed away October 7, 2020. He was born November 27, 1920 to John C. and Nannie (McCullough) Bostwick in Hoyt, Kansas. He married Marjorie Bunge on September 5, 1948. They were married for 67 years until her death in 2016.

Aubrey served in the 908th Signal Corp during WWII and then received a Bachelorâ€™s degree in Agriculture from K-State University. He enjoyed woodworking, cross stitching, and gardening.

Aubrey was known as a kind, compassionate, honest, hard-working person who always had a smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a knack for making people feel special.

Survivors include his daughters, Diane (Lonnie) Werth, of Salina, Verna Garrett, of Paola; grandchildren, Brandon Werth, Callie Werth, and Christopher Scott; great-grandchildren, Hailey Scott and Elijah Scott; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to Trinity UMC in Salina or the American Cancer Society.

&nbsp; Linda Kay Herr, 71, of McPherson, Kansas passed away Friday, October 9th, 2020 peacefully, at McPherson Health And Rehab. Linda was born in Chanute, Kansas on June 30, 1949, a daughter of John Baker and Wanda (Nickelson) Baker-Achilles. Linda attended schools in Arkansas City, Kansas. She was a member of New Life Foursquare Gospel Church and was a former member of Cherry Street Church of God in McPherson. Linda was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked for Femco where she was a supervisor and owned and operated her own cleaning business. Linda was a member of Faith In Action music group, which consisted of Linda, her sisters, Patricia, Carol and her niece Jenny. Linda enjoyed inspirational Christian music, watching movies, shopping and spending time with her family. Linda Kay Baker was united in marriage to James Curtis Herr on June 11, 1976 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple established their first home together in Arkansas City, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of a son Jeremy. Linda was blessed with the birth of a son Steve from a previous marriage. James died on July 1, 2020 She is survived by her children, Jeremy Herr and his wife Kristi, of Salina, Kansas and Steve Goatley and his wife Wendy, of Galax,Virginia; her father, John Baker, of Fort Worth, Texas; her siblings, Carol Goering and her husband Larry, of Moundridge, Kansas and Suzie Howell and her husband David, of Whitewater, Kansas. Linda was a member of Faith In Action music group, which consisted of Linda, her sisters, Patricia, Carol and her niece Jenny. Linda enjoyed inspirational Christian music, watching movies, shopping and spending time with her family. Linda Kay Baker was united in marriage to James Curtis Herr on June 11, 1976 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple established their first home together in Arkansas City, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of a son Jeremy. Linda was blessed with the birth of a son Steve from a previous marriage. James died on July 1, 2020 She is survived by her children, Jeremy Herr and his wife Kristi, of Salina, Kansas and Steve Goatley and his wife Wendy, of Galax,Virginia; her father, John Baker, of Fort Worth, Texas; her siblings, Carol Goering and her husband Larry, of Moundridge, Kansas and Suzie Howell and her husband David, of Whitewater, Kansas. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Zane Herr, Elise Herr, Natalie Herr, Allison Harrell (Jared ), Molly Preciado (Juan) and a great-grandson, Harris Harrell Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Achilles; her sister, Patricia Goatley; her brothers, Darrel Baker and Jeff Baker. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, with Pastor Andrea Baker officiating. Burial will be held at Crestwood Memorial Park Cemetery McPherson, Kansas. Kathy’s life began on October 30, 1953 in Hillsboro, KS.  She was the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Frantz) Beisel.

Dusty's life began on October 11, 1981 in Council Grove.  He was the son of Danny and Joyce (Hidecker) Good. 

 Dusty was a 2000 graduate of Council Grove High School.  While in school he enjoyed participating in theatre, forensics and enjoyed the arts. 

 He was a writer and podcaster who reached out to those with anxiety and agoraphobia with compassion and understanding. 

 He loved little children and enjoyed computer games. 

 One of his many podcasts "Audio Henchman" was followed by many fans.  Dusty was an artistic and compassionate soul. 

 His family includes his parents Danny and Joyce Good; siblings Cassie Jones and Ashley Langdon; his spouse Diane Good; stepdaughter Kris Pew and step grandchildren Luke, Morgan, Avery, and Kai. 

 Dusty passed away on October 8, 2020 at Morris County Hospital.

Dusty Carl Good

&nbsp; James H. Guilfoyle, Abilene, Kansas died on October 8, 2020. 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mona Guilfoyle, his 3 sons, Mark (Kathy), Stephen (Mary) and David as well as his three grandchildren, Elyse, Matthew and Ellen and one sister, Jo Anne Casetta. 

Jim was born September 1, 1929 to Matthew and Rhea Guilfoyle in Abilene, Kansas. 

He was a store manager for Duckwall's in Ellsworth, Kansas. He also owned and operated the Dairy Queen with his wife. 

He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Air Force. Jim was a F-84 fighter pilot and flew 56 missions. One of his Air Force highlights was chasing a UFO over Arizona in his jet. He never did catch it! When back on the ground he was known to drive like he was flying.

David Leon Richardson, 60, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He was born December 10, 1959, in Topeka to Harry Sr. and Peggy Richardson.

David worked in roofing on and off his most his life and retired from Tonyâ€™s Pizza.

Survivors include: his children, Kimberly Richardson, Crystal Jackson, Jessie Jackson and Heather Urbanek; and 17 grandchildren.

Rose Alice Burton, 94, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020. She was born April 25, 1926 in Hominy, OK.

Rose worked tirelessly for many years at Tony’s Pizza until retirement. Also, for many years she enjoyed being a nursing aide for many people. Through it all her favorite titles were mom and grandma. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, Quilting and Bingo!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Jenny (Adams) Benfer; husband, Harry Burton; son, Charles Miller; brothers, Carl Benfer, Earl Benfer, Leonard Benfer, sister, Beulah Windsor; ½ sister, Helen McAdoo.&nbsp;

Lorene (Hunt) Keeten, daughter of John and Ethel (Smith) Hunt, was 
born August 8, 1924 in Pascola, Missouri, and passed away at Kearney 
Regional Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska on October 6, 2020, at the age of
 96.

children were born: Donnie and Doris.&nbsp; He preceded her in death.On August 11, 1950, Lorene was married to Max Keeten in Phillipsburg, Kansas.&nbsp; They celebrated their 50th anniversary in August of 2000.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on July 25, 2001.She was a punchboard operator for Southwestern Bell for several years
 until they moved the office to Hays.&nbsp; She also worked at Phillips 
County Hospital in Long Term Care for 22 years, retiring in 1995.Lorene was a member of the Glade United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She loved 
to work in her “big” garden and would share her produce with everyone.&nbsp; 
She also enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and quilting.&nbsp; She made many 
beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren.Her favorite times were spent gathered with family for a big meal.Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two 
sisters, Ethelene Greer and Dorothy Pearson, and daughter-in-law Nancy 
Doan.Survivors include a son, Donnie Doan of Beloit, Kansas and a daughter
 Doris Hofaker (Richard) of Logan, Kansas;&nbsp; six grandchildren, Donald 
Doan (Shelly) of Wausau, Wisconsin, Debra Seaman (KC) of Homer, Alaska, 
Diane Lindsey (Ed) of Batavia, Ohio, Jay Hofaker (Paula) of Logan,
