December 3, 1930~October 27, 2020(age 89)

Mary's life began on December 3, 1930 in Hays, KS.  She was the daughter of Robert and Estella (Thouvenell) Hooker of Winona, Kansas. 

 Mary graduated from Fort Hays State College and began her career as a teacher.  She went on to teach in several schools including Wichita, Denver, Salina, Assaria, and the brand-new Southeast of Saline building.  At Southeast she taught 5th grade for most of her career, including both of her children.  As most teachers do, she went back to school at Emporia State Teacher's College for extra training and continued her career until retirement. 

 Mary met Kendall Carlson through a friend's introduction, and they were wed on November 20, 1960 in Winona, KS. 

 Mary was a member of the Assaria Lutheran Church and most recently was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salina.  

As a young lady she played tennis for Fort Hays State. She was a formidable ping pong player and loved driving her Ford Thunderbird.  Mary loved to play bridge and pitch and was an expert card player her entire life.  She enjoyed the casinos and was one of those lucky people who frequently hit the jackpot. 

 Mary enjoyed getting together with the retired teachers in Alpha Delta Kappa and served as their president in 1993. 

Cheering for the Royals and for K-State Football was also a favorite pastime. 

 Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Lynn (Rod) Just of Marion, and Dan (Gay) Carlson of Falun; grandchildren Evan (Brooke) Just of Wilsey, Erika (Cole) George of Uniontown, Nikki (Tim) Larson of Marquette, Caitlin Carlson of Nashua, NH and Alyssa Carlson of Wichita; great-grandchildren Rylee Larson and Brielle George. 

 Mary passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Salina Regional Medical Center. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kendall and her brother Robert A. Hooker. 

 Her family will gather with friends on Friday October 30, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church for her memorial service.

&nbsp; Donna Lee Lawson, longtime resident of Abilene passed away at Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, KS on Thursday, October 29th, 2020. She was born November 4, 1930 in the Barnes Community, the daughter of Elsie A. (Wilkinson) and George M. Kappel. They moved to Clay Center in 1939, where she spent most of her early childhood years. In 1942 her family moved to Abilene. She attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1946. On June 11, 1949 she married Samuel L. Lawson. All their married life was spent traveling and following his military career. After his death in 1978 she was employed by the Dickinson County Clerk’s Office, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Abilene. They say a life filled with love is a life well lived. She lived quietly and loved beyond measure. What an example she has left for all those whose lives she touched. Survivors include two daughters Nancy Ehrich of Abilene, Ann Lawson of El Dorado, Kansas, son Eugene Lawson and his wife Ann of Manhattan, Kansas, six grandchildren Aaron (Jody) Ehrich, Abilene, Ks, Kristin (Cory) Birdsong, KC, Mo., Samuel (Michelle) Lawson, Auburn, Ks. &nbsp; Gordon E Taylor passed away on October 28th at the age of 89 after a long battle with dementia. Gordon was born at his home in Pearl KS, the son of Leslie J Taylor and Nina Grace (Huff) Taylor. He attended the Pearl grade school and graduated from DCCHS in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Lorene Lauer, on March 18, 1951. Left to mourn Gordon’s passing is his loving wife of 69 years, their children including Terry (Karlene) Taylor of Abilene KS, Nina (Gary) Shasteen of Caseyville IL, Roger Taylor &amp; Tim Dummer of Kansas City, MO, Son-in-law Joe Saia of Topeka, 4 grandchildren-Kari (Jason) Hall, Kyle (Emily) Taylor, Ashley (Scott) Heuke, Kali (Sean) Maclaskey, 8 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sisters and his daughter Glenda. Gordon worked for ANR pipeline in Enterprise KS for 38 years. Out of high school, he worked the family farm with his father. After retirement from ANR, he farmed full time, eventually being joined by his oldest son Terry. The Taylor family farm received the Dickinson County Soil Conservation Award. Gordon also proudly served as a Logan Township board member for many years, the Pearl Coop as a board member and was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church. As the family grew, he enjoyed taking them on many family vacations. A favorite was heading to Minnesota for fishing during the summer. Gordon &amp; Joyce also enjoyed their trips to Canada for fishing trips. Another passion of Gordon’s was the building and flying of model airplanes. He also took up wood working in his shop and enjoyed hunting coyote’s with friends. Private family services for Gordon will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020. Visitation will be from 1-4 P.M., Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. The family asks that you observe all local health regulations including the wearing of masks and social distancing when attending the visitation. John Arlin Keeler, 79, passed away October 28, 2020, at his home in 
Great Bend. He was born June 25, 1941, at Great Bend, to Claude Leo 
Keeler, Sr. &amp; Iva Mary (Wetig) Keeler. He married Beverly Kuhn and 
they later divorced.

A Great Bend resident since 1972, John previously lived in Liberal, 
Russell, and Hutchinson. He was a tree crew foreman for Mid West Energy,
 retiring in 2000. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Great 
Bend. John loved to hunt and fish, garden and do yard work, and in his 
younger years, was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Survivors include, three sons, Scott Keeler and wife Amy, Mike Keeler
 and wife Melissa, and Kevin Keeler, all of Great Bend; six brothers, 
Claude L. Keeler, Jr., Donald Keeler, Charles Keeler, and Larry Keeler, 
all of Great Bend, Ivan Keeler of Colorado City, Colo., and Marvin 
Keeler of Salina; and two sisters, Connie Eilts, and Marilyn 
Luenberger-Frank, both of Great Bend; and two grandchildren, Mason 
Keeler, and Kylynn Keeler. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 
two brothers, Darrel Keeler and Eldon Keeler.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday, 
November 2, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends

Mary R. (Erbert) Kuhn, 98, Hays, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, at HaysMed.

She was born July 25, 1922, in Ellis, 
the daughter of Engelbert and Regina (Geschwentner) Erbert.&nbsp; Mary 
attended Ellis schools and worked at Erbert Hotel, Cottage Hotel, and at
 Ellis Bakery.&nbsp; After raising her children, she worked at Sweetbriars 
Dress Shop and also at Four Seasons Dress Shop, both in Hays.&nbsp; On 
November 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gilbert N. Kuhn at St. 
Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis, and they celebrated nearly 57 years of 
marriage before he preceded her in death on October 26, 2004.&nbsp; They 
lived in Victoria and later moved to Hays in May of 1960.&nbsp; She was a 
member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.&nbsp; Mary made wedding 
flowers and wedding and birthday cakes.&nbsp; She also made quilts, crafts 
and clothes for her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons: Don Kuhn 
and Keith Kuhn and wife Connie, both of Hays, a daughter: Marian Light 
and husband Fred of Kansas City, MO, a brother: Joseph Erbert and wife 
Arlene of Ellis, a sister: Shirley Pitner and husband Ralph of Hays, 
seven grandchildren: Claire Albert of Dodge City, KS, Neil Kuhn of Hays,

Hillsboro - Lois Nuss, 88, died October 26, 2020 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion. She was born May 4, 1932 in McPherson to David and Elsie Ann (Ratzlaff) Zimmerman. 

She married Loren Nuss January 11, 1950 in Durham. 

Survivors include: sons, Bradley (Sheila) Nuss of Ness City, Stan Nuss of Durham, Mark (Kathy) Nuss of Salina, Gary (Merilyn) Nuss of Wichita, Brian Nuss of Durham; daughter, Peni (Stan) Ens of rural Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. 

Predeceased by her husband, Loren (Fuzzy) Nuss in 2004.

Mary Christine Henderson, 66, formerly of Ellis, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at her home in Salina, Kan. She was born December 20, 1953 in Hays to Francis A. and Armella (Braun) Wiesner of Ellis. Mary graduated from Marian High School in 1971.

Mary started working as a waitress at the family's restaurant, City Cafe, in Ellis. She then worked at the Wakeeney Hospital before moving to Salina, where she returned to waitressing at the Red Coach Inn. Mary then worked in private home care, and her last, most favorite job of all was taking care of her grandkids, which she loved most of all. Mary was very devoted to her family; her grandkids were her greatest accomplishment.

She is survived by: her siblings, Joyce Wiesner of Topeka, Barbara Schuster (LaVerne) of Russell, Leon Wiesner (Rhonda) of Evans, Colo., Janet Wahrman (Alan) of Hays; 9 grandchildren, J.C., Mason and Jenna Henderson of Salina, Dani and Emily Henderson of Waynesboro, Miss., Hunter and Alexis Rogers, Aiden Stokes and Kaylie Hickman of Salina; nieces, Starla Hickman (AJ) of Salina, Amanda Schuster of Colo., Stephanie Wiesner, Katie Upchurch, and Kelly Frank of Colo.; and nephews, Chad Schuster of Great Bend, Brad Schuster of Salina, and Scott Henry of Garden City.

Alice May Kelley, the daughter of Fred E. Boman and Bessie M. (Smith) Boman, was born October 2, 1932 in Belleville, Kansas and passed away on October 26, 2020 at the Presbyterian Manor, Wichita, Kansas at the age of 88 years and 24 days.

Alice grew up and attended the local public schools, graduating from Belleville High School.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On October 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clarence M. Kelley and to this union was born Deborah D. and Greg A.

The couple made their home in Belleville, Kansas and Alice worked for 10 years as a teller at the First National Bank.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She then was the office manager and secretary for the State Farm Insurance Agency, Belleville, KS, working with her husband, Clarence M. Kelley, agent, for 35 years until her retirement.&nbsp; They had recently moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near family.

Alice was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Boman, infant sister, Karen; &nbsp;twin sister, Alta M. (Boman) Snapp and 2 brothers, Loren E. Boman and LaVon Boman.

Alice is survived by her husband Clarence M. Kelley of Wichita, Kansas;&nbsp; &nbsp;One son, Greg (Lori) Kelley of Independence, Kansas;&nbsp;&nbsp; One daughter, Deborah D. Alice May Kelley

&nbsp; Phyliis (Kugler) McCosh was born 100 years ago, on September 14th, 1920, and died Saturday,&nbsp;October 24th in the Lakeview Village Rehabilitation Center in Lenexa, Kansas. Her good long&nbsp;life began as a child of John Musselman Kugler and Bertha Burkholder Kugler of rural Abilene. Some of her best childhood memories were fixing a snack when coming home from school and&nbsp;going to the barn while her Mother milked the cows. She talked of the many scrumptious&nbsp;meals her Mother would fix for large family holiday dinners, a tradition she continued. She also&nbsp;spoke fondly of practicing the piano as a child and especially loved playing hymns.

Phyllis&nbsp;attended East Buckeye grade school, Abilene High School and graduated from Bethany&nbsp;College in Lindsborg in 1941 with a degree in music education.

In 1937, she and another young man from the community, LeRoy McCosh, were two of three&nbsp;selected to attend the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. A relationship began that led to&nbsp;their marriage in 1943, with a wedding at her parents home at the Kugler farm. 

They were&nbsp;married 58 years and had six children: Ron McCosh (Cindy) of Beverly, KS, Patricia King (Gary)&nbsp;of Winfield,KS, Gordon McCosh (Sherryl), of Rockwall, TX, Nancy Wassenberg (Roger) of&nbsp;Shawnee, KS, Dennis McCosh of rural Abilene, and Cathy Matlack (Terry) of Shawnee, KS.&nbsp;Phyllis had 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters. 

Phyllis&nbsp;was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy in 2002, her parents, her three siblings, Harold&nbsp;Kugler, Marie Wick and Laberta Simmons, a daughter-in-law, Lynn McCosh and a grandson,&nbsp;Joe McCosh.

Both LeRoy and Phyllis had many accomplishments, honors and awards through out their&nbsp;lives. Highlights were the Dickinson County Extension Council Appreciation award and they&nbsp;were also honored as members of the Master Farmer and Master Farm Homemaker award in&nbsp;1993, giving public recognition for excellence in farming, homemaking and rural citizenship.

Phyllis was honored with the Master Teacher award from the Chapman School District in 1977.

Music and the piano was Phyllis’ passion. She began giving piano lessons at the age of 16&nbsp;and continued until 80 years of age. She taught elementary music in the Chapman School&nbsp;District at Blue Ridge, Talmage and Upland schools from 1956 - 1988. She inspired many “next&nbsp;generation” music teachers who she continued to mentor and stay in touch with over the&nbsp;years. She loved hearing her grandchildren and great grand-children play the piano or their instruments and many mini concerts were given her while she listened with a broad smile.

Phyllis had a strong unshakable faith. She served her community of faith at the Buckeye&nbsp;Church of the Brethren by serving as pianist and organist for 48 years. She had youth choirs,&nbsp;did summer bible school and encouraged and accompanied many of her students who were&nbsp;ready to share their musical talents with the church community. 

She was known for her baking&nbsp;and her cinnamon twists were always one of the first things people would seek out at many church potlucks.

Services will be Saturday, October 31st, 11am, at Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye St.,&nbsp;Abilene, KS. Due to the pandemic, attendees are encouraged to wear masks. &nbsp; After a long and well-lived life, Charlene (Dreiling) Herman was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Charlene was a vibrant wife, mom, grandmother, sister &amp; friend until dementia overtook her days. Born in Ellis KS on April 14, 1933 to Ray &amp; Marcella Dreiling, she was one of 5 other siblings. They lived in Ellis until 1943 at which time they moved to Chapman KS which is where she and her siblings attended school. Charlene was married to George Herman in September 1954, they were parents to 5 children and moved to Denver, CO in 1956 for 20 years, moving back to Chapman KS in 1976. They bought a few acres &amp; built their home there to be closer to family. Upon her return to Chapman, Charlene renovated the old bank building into “Char’s Salon” where she did hair as a beautician for a number of years. There were few family gatherings where she wasn’t called upon to get her scissors &amp; clippers out to do trims for nieces, nephews, siblings, etc. Charlene was a servant to her community whenever the need arose. She helped clean the church parish (St. Michaels) and frequently prepared food for the many dinners the church had. But it didn’t stop there - friends, family, shut-ins ... whenever a cheerful visitor was needed Charlene could be counted on. Her kindness &amp; great sense of humor attracted many friends - she was by all accounts well loved by her community. Charlene is survived by her husband of 66 years, George Herman, their children Sherry Hooper, Abilene KS; Jerry (Lauren) Herman, Thornton CO; Patty (David) Canfield, Abilene KS; &amp; Mary Beth (Kevin) Buchanan, Bartlesville OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Canfield, Kellen Canfield, Trenton Canfield, Jeremy Collins, Cristian Whitney, Austin Heidenreich, Brittany Da Via, Kelsey Straub, &amp; (little) Theresa Foster as well as many grandchildren &amp; others who loved her. &nbsp; Suszann (Holmes) Overton was born October 30, 1945, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Ross Holmes and Ruth Priest Holmes. She was soon moved as an infant to the Northern California redwood country where she was raised as a child. She graduated from Cloverdale, California High School in 1963. She then moved to San Jose, California where she met her husband to be, Howard. They married on April 10, 1965. She has resided in Kansas since 1994. Suszann went to be with her friend and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Suszann was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is survived by: her husband, Howard B. Overton of McPherson, KS; four children, Julie I. Overton of California, Christa D. Overton of California, Howard M. Overton of Idaho, and David A. Overton of Texas; three brothers, Jimmy and Howard Holmes of California and Danny Holmes of Oregon; sister, Julia Wing of Utah; and seven grandchildren. Her parents and sister, Sandra, predeceased her. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson, with Dr. Brian Kynaston officiating. Cheryl A. Warner, 56, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Great Bend, KS. She was born January 6, 1964 in Ellinwood, KS to Kenneth and Mary (Haley) Barta.

A longtime resident of Holyrood, Cheryl worked for nearly 30 years on the financial services team at Ellsworth County Medical Center in Ellsworth, KS. She married Weldon “Gene” Warner in Ellsworth in June of 1981.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Gene of Holyrood; mother, Mary Barta of Ellsworth; sister, Laura Barta of Holyrood; nephew, David Zajic of Holyrood; and many aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Barta; and son, Joshua Warner.

He is survived by his daughter, Mandy Deiser of Pryor, OK; son, Benjamin “Butch” Deiser II of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Anthony, Ke’Andre, Gavin, Peyton, and Jaxon Miller, Dennis “Bubba” and Carter Deiser, Grace Betts, and Haley Pfiefer; mother, Ruby Deiser of Ellsworth; sisters, Darlene Deiser and Susie Stone both of Ellsworth; brothers, Raymond Deiser (Debbie) of Salina, KS and Tim Deiser (Ginny) of Hutchinson, KS; step-mom, Shirley Deiser; step-brothers, Scott, Alan, and Darrell Ploutz; and many nieces and nephews. Joan Wohler, 69 died October 25, 2020 in Topeka, KS.&nbsp; She was born on September 12, 1951 in Concordia, KS, the daughter of Vernon and Eva (Carson-Schaefer) Helms.&nbsp; Joan was raised in the Linn community and was a graduate of Linn High School class of 1969.&nbsp; She worked at the Linn Community Nursing Home and at Jack’s Food Market.&nbsp; Joan married David Wohler on July 17, 1981.&nbsp; After the family moved to Clay Center, she worked as a cook at the Clay County Hospital.&nbsp; David preceded her in death on March 7, 2018.&nbsp; Joan had a love for music and played the piano, accordion and organ.&nbsp; She was also preceded in death by her father; sister, Jeanette Peters; son in law, Rodney Ohlde and son in law, Ron Smith.

Gier, 95 of Clay Center died Thursday, October 22, 2020.&nbsp; She was born on September 16, 1925, the daughter of David and Callie (Walters) Ramsey.&nbsp; Della graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1943.&nbsp; She married Howard “Shorty” Gier on October 9, 1943.&nbsp; She worked at KP&amp;L in Topeka, Boogart’s, Farmer’s Insurance, Brown’s and was a truck driver at Hutch Manufacturing for 10 years.&nbsp; Della babysat for many kids and took care of several older people.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by parents, two sisters, husband, Howard, son George Gier, grandson, Zayne McVey and son in-law, David Kendrick.

Della was member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.&nbsp; Her family was very important to her.&nbsp; She loved spending time with her kids, great grandkids and great great grandkids.

George Edward Stroup, age 94 of Beloit, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2020 at the Mitchell County Hospital.

George was born on October 7, 1926 in Kensington, Kansas to George A. and Faye (Gaines) Stroup, one of 12 children.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Judith (Swain) Stroup of the home; children, Steve of Griffin, GA, Deb Underwood of Burr Oak, KS, Bonnie (Lee) Axtell of Salina, KS, and Pam (Ralph) Lee of Junction City, KS; step-children, Pam (Mitch) Rushton of Fernando Beach, FL, Thomas Crisp of Bryson, NC, and Jenny (Brian) Abels of Bryson, NC; 15 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Karen Evans, Melford (Frieda) Stroup; and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Betty, 6 sisters, 3 brothers, and Ken Schwenn.

George served in the US Army. He was in World War II, Korean War, and was a Vietnam Era Veteran. George also served 20 years with the Kansas National Guard.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, October 31 at the Beloit First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM with family present from 5-7 PM Friday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Church.

George Edward Stroup

November 4, 1941~October 24, 2020(age 78)

Irma was born, the youngest of three children, on November 4, 1941 to Albert and Ethel (Hodgson) Janzen, on the family farm eight miles north of Canada, KS. 

 She attended Victory Grade School first through eighth grade and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1959. 

 Irma was united in marriage to Robert Meisinger of Marion on July 5, 1959.  The family lived in several different states including Kansas, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Oklahoma and returned to Marion in 2000. 

 Irma was a stay-at-home mom most of her married life beginning her career as an assistant church secretary at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Beaverton, OR from 1990 to 1991 before moving to Tulsa, OK where she worked at Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow from 1992 to 2000 when she retired to Marion.  She was active in church everywhere they lived, serving in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, as a Sunday School teacher, Mid-Week School and VBS teacher and especially enjoyed playing in the Hand Bell Choir.  She served as bulletin and newsletter secretary at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.  

Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 61 years Robert Meisinger of Marion, daughter Cheryl (Dan) Erickson of Columbia City, OR, son David Meisinger of Newton, KS, sister Dorothy (Janzen) Ensz of Hillsboro, KS, brother Leonard (Jo Ann) Janzen of Fort Worth, TX and many nieces and nephews. 

 Irma passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Newton Medical Center. 

 She is preceded in death by her parents.  

Irma's family will gather with friends on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion for her memorial service led by Pastor John Werner. She attended Victory Grade School first through eighth grade and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1959. Irma was united in marriage to Robert Meisinger of Marion on July 5, 1959. The family lived in several different states including Kansas, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Oklahoma and returned to Marion in 2000. Irma was a stay-at-home mom most of her married life beginning her career as an assistant church secretary at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Beaverton, OR from 1990 to 1991 before moving to Tulsa, OK where she worked at Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow from 1992 to 2000 when she retired to Marion. She was active in church everywhere they lived, serving in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, as a Sunday School teacher, Mid-Week School and VBS teacher and especially enjoyed playing in the Hand Bell Choir. She served as bulletin and newsletter secretary at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 61 years Robert Meisinger of Marion, daughter Cheryl (Dan) Erickson of Columbia City, OR, son David Meisinger of Newton, KS, sister Dorothy (Janzen) Ensz of Hillsboro, KS, brother Leonard (Jo Ann) Janzen of Fort Worth, TX and many nieces and nephews. Irma passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Newton Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents. Irma's family will gather with friends on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion for her memorial service led by Pastor John Werner. &nbsp; Laurence (Larry) Clifton Wright 64 of Abilene , formerly of West Virginia passed away October 22, 2020. He was born February 4, 1956 in Washington DC , the son of David and Janice (Shaulis) Wright.

Larry worked various jobs including construction, machine tech and plastics tech. 

Larry was always laid back and never worried about anything. He loved golf and hunting and socializing on Facebook.

Larry is survived by his sons Darron Timbrook of Abilene , Justin Timbrook and Nick Dailey, Daughters Ashley Piper and Mandy Smith. One sister Karis Feidler, Grandchildren Stocton and Ridgelee Timbrook: Adam and Aiden Piper, A'lia Vargas , Gavin Smith, and Brooklynn and Ethan Timbrook. Other survivors include Connie Timbrook a Cousin Kelly George and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents , three brothers ; David Wright, Macky Wright and Mark Shaulis, a grandson Brayden Lee Smith Burgess and a niece Stacey Wright.

Laurence (Larry) Clifton Wright

Beuford Putman, 82 of Abilene passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at his home. He was born May 24, 1938 in Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of James “Webb” and Sylvia (McInturff) Putman. 

On June 12, 1988 he was united in marriage to Barbara Baker in Abilene. She survives of the home. 

Beuford served 8 years in the Air Force and 22 years in the Army Reserve 425th Transportation Company. He worked at Ft. Riley as a heavy equipment mechanic. 

Beuford is survived by his loving wife Barbara of the home. One son, Kevin Putman of Colorado. Six grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and his daughter (Valerie). 

Military Graveside Services will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 30, 2020 at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon. Masks and social distancing will be required. Friends may come by the funeral home from 9AM until 5PM on Thursday, October 29, 2020 to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials be given to the Hospice of Dickinson County. Clara Rosella “Pat” Engling, 86, of Natoma, Kansas, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas.

Clara was born on March 17, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albin and Florance (Culley) Golembiewski.

She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Edward M. Engling on March 08, 1954 in Lawton, Oklahoma.&nbsp; From this union they were blessed with 5 children Edward, Christine, Michael, Andrew and Anthony. They raised their children and called home in the Codell and Natoma area.&nbsp; She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Surviving family include son, Edward M. Engling, Jr. of Natoma, Kansas; daughter, Christine M. Hoffman (Ken) of Hays, Kansas; son, Michael A. Engling (Dee) of Phillipsburg, Kansas; son, Andrew L. Engling (April) of Natoma, Kansas; and son, Anthony C. Engling (Lori) of Salina, Kansas; 2 brothers Joseph Golembiewski and Ben Bogus; 2 sisters Frances McGee and Agnes Vidal; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed on July 02, 2017; her parents and a brother, Albert Golembiewski.

A private family service will be held at a later date.&nbsp; The family has chosen cremation. &nbsp; A memorial has been set for the Natoma Community Center and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.

Barbara Wolf, age 68, of Ellis, Ks passed away on Friday October 23, 2020, at home in Ellis. She was born November 6, 1951, to Shorty and Edna Kuhn.&nbsp; She grew up in Ellis, Ks and graduated from Ellis High School in 1969 then attended Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; She married Brian Wolf August 5, 1970, in Ellis, Ks. &nbsp; Barbara worked more than twenty-five years for Hays Internal Medicine Group as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. Barbara loved her Grandchildren with all her heart and spent a lot of time attending sporting events, dance recitals, and taking them for fun filled adventures on weekends.&nbsp; She enjoyed making treats and attending school parties.&nbsp; Barbara had many hobbies, including reading, sewing for people, baking for weddings, birthdays, and many other occasions.
