Dorothy May Lundstrom, 101, of Topeka, KS and formerly of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025.&nbsp;

She was born September 23, 1923, in Wichita, KS, the loving daughter of James N. and Freda D. Mosteller.&nbsp; She graduated from Wichita High School North and Wichita Business College.&nbsp; She put her training from Business College to good use, first working in the office of Congressman Edward H. Reese in Washington, D.C. during the early part of WWII, and later working for Bremyer &amp; Wise until 1991 where she was a legal secretary in the probate department.&nbsp;

On November 4, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to A. Edward “Bud” Lundstrom in Owego, NY.&nbsp; This union was blessed with a daughter, Gayle. In the spring of 1971, the family moved to McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp; Dorothy and Bud were married for 57 years prior to his passing on Christmas Day in 2002.&nbsp;

Dorothy was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.&nbsp; She was also a member of &nbsp;Order of Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron in 1982, and was also a member of Domestic Dames EHU.&nbsp; She was a Memorial Hospital Auxiliary member where she kept the books for Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, served as Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary, and was a 4-year Trustee.

She enjoyed playing bridge and cards with friends, bowling, sewing, walking her dogs, reading, and watching sports.&nbsp; She also had a love for travel and cherished taking her grandchildren on summer trips.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Hoglund of Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Mike (Amber) Hoglund of Topeka, KS and Jill (Josh) Winkleman of St. Marys, KS; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Winkleman, Hunter Hoglund, Miles Hoglund, and Hannah Hoglund; and many extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ernie, David “Junie”, &amp; Roy Mosteller; and a sister, Lou Tinkler.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Rehwaldt officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Dorothy May Lundstrom

Alden “Al” Duane Eidet&nbsp;78 years old of Beverly, Kansas departed with angels on October 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer.

He was born April 19, 1946 to Norman H. Eidet and Eleanor A. “Vedvig” Eidet in Stanley, North Dakota. He spent his childhood and school years growing up in North Dakota before entering the oil industry.

He was united in marriage to Myrtle “Ann” Kissick on June 3, 1966 in Tescott, Kansas. They had two children son Terry and daughter Sheila.

Throughout their marriage he showed he was a man of many trades. He worked at the Pepsi and Warta Buick companies in Salina, Kansas. Then he moved his family to Nebraska where he was employed with Good Year and Iseman Mobile Homes in Grand Island, Nebraska. Then he decided to take his family back up to his home area where he shared his trades with Koch and Tioga Air Heaters. As the years went by he and his family came back to Kansas where he became self-employed in running his own mobile home repair and traveling the state delivering the Wheels for You books with his wife. Then he decided to become employed with the Kansas Highway Patrol Troop C as a Custodial Specialist in Salina, Kansas which is where he retired from.

He was a loving husband and extraordinary father who was always so generous, eager and devoted to all his family and friends especially to his grandchildren he was their “Hero”! They always enjoyed hearing his stories and always knew he was very opinionated when it came to whatever was thrown his way. He was known to them as “Pops” or just grandpa. The grandsons knew they could always turn to him if needed any mechanic advice whether it was for their daily cars or race cars and the granddaughters could always depend on him no matter what the reasons. He always had that sense of love and humor no matter what. To all that knew him knew he was one of a kind and will always be in their hearts and mind.

He was a busy man always doing things he enjoyed like going to car races and supporting his drivers and meeting up with family and friends at the track. He loved flea markets and garage sales and always looking to add to his die cast car collection for which he proudly showed in his lighted curio. You could always find him fiddling in his sheds/ shops and even helping “Mom” with the yard work. He was also taking up playing guitar just for some extra entertainment or even singing.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, In-laws Bill and Arlene Kissick, brother Norris Eidet, sister Beatrice and husband Walter “ Sonny” Larson, brother-in-law Ronald Brilz, niece Wanda Holloway, daughter-in-law Mary “Whitson” Eidet and great grandson Gracin Eidet.

He leaves behind with his memories his loving wife Ann of 58 years of the home, brother Robert “ Bobby” ( Luisa) Eidet of Puyallup, Washington, sister Norma Brilz of Tioga, North Dakota, brother-in-law Carl “LaVern” (Linda) Kissick of Marquette, Kansas, son Terry (Charlie) Eidet, daughter Sheila Tatro (Gary Pauley) , sons deeply and forever in heart Wesley Hume, James Stubby, Christopher Handley, Timothy Dewell Handley, Les Wright , grandchildren Heather, Kristy (Randy),Terry “T.J” (Krissy), Dakotah (Katelyn), Raymond, Michael (Samantha),Harley (Felicia) and Hayleigh (Billy). 15 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to&nbsp;St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Al Eidet.

Cremation was chosen by Al with a Celebration of Life being held on June 14, 2025 in Minneapolis, Kansas at Scout building in Markley Grove Park from 2-6.

Alden “Al” Duane Eidet 

Homer D. Goering, 92, of Moundridge, KS, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Pine Village in Moundridge.&nbsp; He was one of six children born to Christian S. Goering and Marie (Kaufman) Goering.&nbsp; He was born July 25, 1932, at Moundridge, KS.&nbsp; He grew up on a farm west of Moundridge where early on, he learned an appreciation of rural life and nature.&nbsp; In his home, he was taught the value of following strong Christian principles and regular church attendance.

He attended grade school and high school in Moundridge, graduating in 1950.&nbsp; He attended Bethel College for four years, enrolling in all ag related and industrial arts classes that were offered.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing football and basketball while there.&nbsp; He was given all-conference honorable mention in football in 1952 and the same in basketball in 1953.&nbsp; Their basketball team was KCAC champions in 1956 and 1957.&nbsp; He played town team basketball until age 40, enjoying the camaraderie of the guys on the team.&nbsp; He was baptized in 1948 becoming a member of Eden Mennonite Church and attending there throughout his life.

He spent two years in I-W service, working out of a unit house with 15 other I-Ws. He had about 20 reunions in the last 50+ years with this group. The last year of I-W, he wrote many letters to Dorothy.&nbsp; She was the love of his life.

He married Dorothy Ewert on December 20, 1956, and the couple made their home on the same farm where he was born. They became parents of six sons born from 1957 to 1964.&nbsp; They moved to Pine Village in 2008. They celebrated their 65th&nbsp;wedding anniversary in 2021. Life was meaningful shared with his loving wife and family.

The couple dairyed for 35 years. He built their own dairy barn and several cattle sheds, two machine sheds, and two garages (one being in Busy, Montana during his voluntary service years). Another exciting project was welding together a pedal tractor and a go-cart for his sons’ enjoyment.

Church was a must for him. He sang in church choirs, Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus for nearly 50 years, and two quartets for a time. He taught Sunday school at times and served as trustee for several years.

His faith journey had its struggles. In his teens, he was attacked by a dairy bull; his wife, Dorothy, nearly died from a complication during the delivery of their first born child; Dorothy dealing with Parkinson’s for over 20 years; crop failures; and a bout with family member’s mental health issues to name but a few.&nbsp; Each one was a spiritual challenge, needing God’s strength and help.

Preceding Homer in death were wife, Dorothy; son, Jerome; parents and parents-in-law; three sisters, Delia Graber, Erna Stucky, and Lola Beth Ediger; two brothers, Olin and Gene Goering; sisters-in-law, Janet Goering, Ruth Goering, and Grace Brandt; and brothers-in-law, Verne Graber, Ray Ediger, and Harvey J. Stucky.

Survivors include sons, Vaughn of Peabody, Larry (Sarah) of McPherson, Roy (Sheralyn) of Newton, Ron (Cecilia) of Moundridge, and Sam (Marcia) of Moundridge; brother-in-law, Raymond Brandt of North Newton; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.&nbsp; A private graveside service will precede the service in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Pine Village or Gentiva Hospice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

Homer D. Goering

Kenneth D. Norstrom, 84, a lifetime McPherson County resident, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, with his family by his side at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp;

He was born August 13, 1940, in McPherson, KS, the son of Milton and Pearl (Nash) Norstrom.&nbsp; In his younger years, Kenneth attended Roxbury United Parish and graduated from Roxbury High School.&nbsp; On July 23, 1967, Kenneth was united in marriage to Fern N. Johnson at the Roxbury Presbyterian Church.&nbsp; This union was blessed with a daughter, Brenda.&nbsp; Kenneth and Fern were married for 49 years prior to Fern’s passing on January 11, 2017.&nbsp;

Kenneth was a United States Army veteran.&nbsp; He worked for 25 years at Johns Manville as an operator and then worked at Ferguson Production.&nbsp; He was a member of the American Legion.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Kenneth enjoyed playing baseball in his high school years and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan.&nbsp; He loved bowling, watching sports, and he and Fern enjoyed having Poodles over the years.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda Becker and husband, Gene, and grandson, Tyler Becker.&nbsp; He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Luella Johnson.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, LeRoy (Jeanne) Norstrom.

A private graveside service will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Roxbury, Kansas.&nbsp;

Patricia Faye (Hamil) Miller, 93, Delphos, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Salina.  She was born August 1, 1932, in Republic County to Lester and Ethel (Hutchinson) Hamil.

She was a graduate of Concordia High School.  Patricia was employed by Pawnee Mental Health Center in Concordia for 20 years.  She loved being of service and a help to others. Later in life, she was reunited with her high school sweetheart, Eldean Miller of New Baden, IL where she lived some of the happiest years of her life.

She is survived by her two sons, Don and John Rogge of Ottawa County, KS; grandchildren, Jenny Radetzke, Kally Rogge, and Nathan Rogge; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were many family members including grandson, Travis Kessler.

Private graveside services will be in the Belleville Cemetery.

Patricia Faye Miller

James D. “Jim” Murk, age 68, of Aurora, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his home in Aurora, KS surrounded by his family.&nbsp; He was born on June 21, 1956, in Westmoreland, KS to Donald &amp; Dixie (Chayer) Murk.

He graduated from Glasco High School in 1974.

He married Patricia (Pat) LeDuc on August 22, 1975 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas.

Jim operated Murk Automotive from 1982 to 1996 and then worked at Cloud Ceramics until 2011. After, he held various service manager positions until he retired due to health in 2019.

He was a founding member of the Heartland Auto Club and has been actively involved since its inception. He served on the Cloud County Historical Society Board and the Aurora City Council.&nbsp; He was a member of the Catholic Church.

James D. Murk

Jermaine Virginia McGregor, aged 82, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025. Jermaine was born in San Diego, California, to DeMerle E. Eckart Sr. and Marjorie “Maddy” Eckart. A proud graduate of Hutchinson High School, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University and later completed a master’s in special education at the University of New Mexico.

Jermaine lived a life full of purpose and passion. She constantly sought creative ways to improve the world—always thinking outside the box and never hesitating to challenge the status quo. From a young age, she was drawn to service: volunteering in group homes and later pioneering a first-of-its-kind Ombudsman Program in Lexington, Kentucky. Her lifelong commitment to justice, education, and compassion left an indelible mark on countless lives.

Her career as a Special Education teacher took her to the Jicarilla Apache Nation, where she inspired students with her energy, empathy, and dedication. She later retired from the Cuba, New Mexico School District, but her passion for education and service never waned.

Jermaine was also a fierce advocate for animals. Whether it was a stray on the street or a horse in need of love, they always seemed to find her—and she welcomed them with open arms. Her love for horses endured throughout her life and brought her great joy and peace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Deborah Ann Eckart; her parents, DeMerle E. Eckart Sr., and Marjorie “Maddy” Eckart; and her brother, James Eckart.

Jermaine is survived by her former spouse, Robert McGregor; children: Cory Sanchez (former spouse Lori Sanchez), James Sanchez (former spouse Kathleen), Zack Grey, and Flower McGregor-Hulihan (former spouse Mark); her brother, DeMerle Eckart Jr. (spouse Gail); her grandchildren: Samantha Kata (spouse Martin), Michael Sanchez, Jason Sanchez, Laine Hulihan, Alec Hulihan, Matthew Hulihan, and Joseph Sanchez (spouse Luna); great-grandchildren: Francis Kata, Chloe Kata, and Rowan Sanchez; and her niece Shawna Berg (spouse Ryan).

A celebration of Jermaine’s life and burial will take place at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 14, at Franklin Cemetery, south of Tescott. On Friday, June 13, those wishing to pay their respects may visit Wilson Family Funeral Home 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467 between the hours of 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Lon Livengood, 85 died June 5, 2025, in rural Morganville, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born on November 13, 1939, in Abilene, KS, the son of Everett and Maxine (Buck) Livengood.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lon was raised in the Morganville community and was a graduate of Morganville High School.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lon married Rosie Young on July 23, 1961.&nbsp;&nbsp;They farmed in the Clifton-Clyde area and in Barnes before moving to Clay Center.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 1970, Lon opened Lon’s OK Tire.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In 1980 he worked for N K Boby Shop.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lon also helped his father on the farm, eventually taking over all farming operations when Everet retired.&nbsp;&nbsp;Rosie preceded him in death on March 25, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lon was a member of the Morganville United Methodist Church, served as a volunteer for the Sheriff’s Department, and was a former member of the Optimist Club.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lon and Rosie enjoyed square dancing and vacations to Colorado.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.

Yvonne Joy (White) Miller, 88, of Basehor, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at her home. &nbsp;She was born on July 22, 1936, in Salina to Clay M. and Mathilda W. (Tessman) White.

Yvonne married Charles Edwin Miller, Jr. on June 17, 1953 in Salina. She graduated from Salina High School in 1954 and worked as an operator for the telephone company and as an overnight admissions clerk at St. John’s Hospital before moving to Herington with her family in 1969. &nbsp;Yvonne spent her remaining years as a mother and homemaker. &nbsp;An accomplished seamstress, Yvonne worked outside of the home at Paragon Products, selling fabric and notions, and she also tried her hand at selling Avon products. &nbsp;She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington. Yvonne moved for Basehor in January 2023 and enjoyed using the transportation services and participating in activities, especially bingo, at the Leavenworth County Council on Aging.

She is survived by two (2) sons: Steven Miller (wife - Donna) of Smithville, MO and Richard Miller (fiancé - Cambria) of North Bend, OR; two (2) daughters: Julie Deines (husband – Terry) of Ramona, KS and Connie Harmon (husband – Rick) of Basehor, KS; twelve (12) grandchildren: Ashley, Ryan (Liz), Steven, Story (Enrico), Tyler (Kara), Toni (Justin), Mason, Erin (Parker), Makenzie (Zac), Dylan (Ellie), Carly (Cory) and Madison (Knox); eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Sharon Kubik of Molalla, OR; and two (2) sisters-in-law, Dorothy Miller of Salina, and Betty Jo (White) Holcombe of Lindsborg.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Valerie Ives; her brother, Dick White; her sister, Bernice Collins; and both of her parents.

Yvonne Joy Miller

David Eugene Michael was born on March 10, 1938, in Winona, Kansas, to Guy Michael and Nellie Flynt. He passed away on June 3, 2025, at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas, at the age of 87.

David grew up in Winona and graduated from Winona High School. He went on to attend Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, where he met his wife, Arlena. The two were married on August 17, 1958, and welcomed their daughter, Micky, in 1960.

David worked in Salina at Western Star Mill, Paris Corporation, and as an instructor at Kansas Technical Institute. He later moved to Manhattan, Kansas, where he worked for Kansas State University in the Continuing Education Department. Eventually, he and Arlena moved to Kansas City, where David worked for the VA until his retirement in 2012.

David enjoyed photography, flying his plane, hunting, and fishing. He was a lifelong amateur radio operator (WAØNXD) and a proud member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Later in life, he joined the Ararat Shriners of Kansas City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Nellie; his sisters, Donna Eichman and Sharon Jones; and his wife, Arlena Michael.

David is survived by his brothers, Frank Flynt of Lancaster, California, and John Flynt of Boulder, Colorado; his sister, Ginger Lyde of Purcell, Oklahoma; his daughter, Micky Menard (Jim) of Abilene, Kansas; grandchildren CJ Jester (Alisha), Kimberly Linn (Cody), and Pat Hubnik (Amy) all of Salina, Kelli Kohman of Bentley, Kansas, and Cristi Menard of Woodstock, Illinois; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation has been chosen. A joint burial for David and Arlena will take place at a later date at the Winona Cemetery in Winona, Kansas.

David Eugene Michael

Ida Mae (Hamel) LeSage age 95, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Pinnacle Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Salina, Kansas. 

She was born January 26, 1930, on the family farm four miles north of Damar, Kansas to Alexand Elsie (Thibault) Hamel and was the youngest of 16 sixteen children. Dr. Peterson, who delivered Ida Mae later delivered three of her children, Mark, Alan and Denise.

 At age six, Ida Mae attended a country school near their farm for only one year.&nbsp; She then rode the school bus to Damar where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph and graduated from Damar High School.&nbsp; She often recounted that, being the youngest in the family, she was the target of many pranks, especially from brothers Jack and Willie. 

Her father, Alex, died in January of 1940 before her tenth birthday, and the family (Elsie, Jack, Willie, and Ida Mae) then moved to a house in Damar in 1941.&nbsp; Ida Mae often babysat for her many nieces, nephews, and cousins during her adolescent years. 

Ida Mae met Dean LeSage at a baseball game at Damar, and they soon discovered that they shared a birthday on January 26.&nbsp; They were married on July 26, 1951, in Damar and settled on a farm ten miles north of Damar.&nbsp; Dean preceded her in death on May 17, 2014.&nbsp; They had seven children.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After retiring from farming, Dean and Ida Mae moved to Hays in 1985 where she volunteered at the ARC Thrift Shop for over 25 years.&nbsp; 

While in Hays, Ida Mae spent her free time visiting with friends, playing dominos, puzzling, weekly bingo, and making frequent trips to Walmart. She occasionally went on horse trail rides with Dean. Ida Mae especially enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and reminiscing with lifelong friends.&nbsp; Her final three weeks were spent at the Pinnacle Park Nursing Home in Salina. 

Ida is survived by her seven children: Mark LeSage and Sue, Stockton, KS; Alan LeSage and Nyla, Salina, KS; Leon LeSage and Michelle, Pretty Prairie, KS; Les LeSage and Connie, Winchester, VA; Denise Goetz and John, Wichita, KS; Renee Oliphant and Doug, Olathe, KS; Deanna LeSage, Victoria, KS; and her sister-in-law, Antionette Hamel, Hill, City, KS; her grandchildren, Tiffany LeSage; Jessica LeFort; Tyson LeSage; Preston LeSage; Parker LeSage; Skye King; Matthew Goetz; Maria Devaney; Scott Oliphant; Travis Oliphant; Nicole Oliphant; Sydney Ware; Sawyer LeSage; and her 22 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, her eleven brothers: Francis, Edmond, Albert, Arthur, Bernard, Alphonse, Louis, Emery, Oliver, Jasper, and Wilfred, and her four sisters: Alma Waldron, Lucille Thomie, Edna Haag, and Olive Hamel. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 13 th and Ash, Hays, Kansas with Celebrant, Father Fred Gatschet. 

Burial will be 1:30 P.M. Friday, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at WaKeeney, Kansas. 

A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays. 

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at the Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

 </figure>Ida Mae (Hamel) LeSage age 95, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Pinnacle Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Salina, Kansas. She was born January 26, 1930, on the family farm four miles north of Damar, Kansas to Alexand Elsie (Thibault) Hamel and was the youngest of 16 sixteen children. Dr. Peterson, who delivered Ida Mae later delivered three of her children, Mark, Alan and Denise. At age six, Ida Mae attended a country school near their farm for only one year.&nbsp; She then rode the school bus to Damar where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph and graduated from Damar High School.&nbsp; She often recounted that, being the youngest in the family, she was the target of many pranks, especially from brothers Jack and Willie. Her father, Alex, died in January of 1940 before her tenth birthday, and the family (Elsie, Jack, Willie, and Ida Mae) then moved to a house in Damar in 1941.&nbsp; Ida Mae often babysat for her many nieces, nephews, and cousins during her adolescent years. Ida Mae met Dean LeSage at a baseball game at Damar, and they soon discovered that they shared a birthday on January 26.&nbsp; They were married on July 26, 1951, in Damar and settled on a farm ten miles north of Damar.&nbsp; Dean preceded her in death on May 17, 2014.&nbsp; They had seven children.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After retiring from farming, Dean and Ida Mae moved to Hays in 1985 where she volunteered at the ARC Thrift Shop for over 25 years.&nbsp; While in Hays, Ida Mae spent her free time visiting with friends, playing dominos, puzzling, weekly bingo, and making frequent trips to Walmart. She occasionally went on horse trail rides with Dean. Ida Mae especially enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and reminiscing with lifelong friends.&nbsp; Her final three weeks were spent at the Pinnacle Park Nursing Home in Salina. Ida is survived by her seven children: Mark LeSage and Sue, Stockton, KS; Alan LeSage and Nyla, Salina, KS; Leon LeSage and Michelle, Pretty Prairie, KS; Les LeSage and Connie, Winchester, VA; Denise Goetz and John, Wichita, KS; Renee Oliphant and Doug, Olathe, KS; Deanna LeSage, Victoria, KS; and her sister-in-law, Antionette Hamel, Hill, City, KS; her grandchildren, Tiffany LeSage; Jessica LeFort; Tyson LeSage; Preston LeSage; Parker LeSage; Skye King; Matthew Goetz; Maria Devaney; Scott Oliphant; Travis Oliphant; Nicole Oliphant; Sydney Ware; Sawyer LeSage; and her 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, her eleven brothers: Francis, Edmond, Albert, Arthur, Bernard, Alphonse, Louis, Emery, Oliver, Jasper, and Wilfred, and her four sisters: Alma Waldron, Lucille Thomie, Edna Haag, and Olive Hamel. Ida Mae LeSage

Moyne Irene Hanes Siler passed away peacefully on June 2, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, adventure, and dedication to family. Born in Minneapolis Kansas, in her grandmother’s home. Moyne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother—whose life was marked by strength, resilience, and grace.

On May 6, 1945, Moyne married her 4th grade sweetheart and the love of her life, Thaine Siler. The two eloped on a Sunday afternoon, beginning a 73 year journey of partnership and love. Together, they built a life full of shared dreams, hard work, and many happy memories—from humble beginnings in Wells, Kansas to owning and managing multiple businesses and properties across Kansas.

Moyne and Thaine were adventurous, moving throughout Kansas and briefly to Colorado, always chasing new opportunities and building their future together. They eventually settled in Salina, where they raised their three children—Jack, Steve, and Cindy—and stayed actively involved in their community. Moyne took joy in homemaking and motherhood, embracing her role with warmth and pride.

One of the joys of Moyne’s life was flying with Thaine in their Beechcraft Bonanza airplane, creating lasting memories from above the Kansas plains.Moyne was a passionate gardener, a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren—Tabatha, Jesse, Summer, Jamie, Brandi, Ginger, Jackie, Jenny, Tony, and Mandy—a proud great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren, and a beloved great-great-grandmother to 9.

She supported her husband in their real estate business, The Siler Agency, which served as the heart of their professional lives. Alongside this, they owned and managed 18 rental properties, a true testament to their dedication and partnership. Despite their busy schedules, Moyne always cherished the small joys—her garden, family meals, and peaceful moments on their land.

She is remembered for her dedication, her storytelling, her deep roots in family and faith, and the loving home she built. As she once wrote, “Wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Siler (Michelle) of Martin, Tennessee, and Steve Siler of New Cambria, Kansas. Moyne also leaves behind a legacy of love through her ten grandchildren, Tabatha, Jesse, Summer, Jackie, Jamie, Jenny, Brandy, Ginger, Tony, and Mandy; along with twelve great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thaine “Si” Siler, and her daughter, Cindy Siler.

A graveside service to honor Moyne’s life will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 5, at Bennington City Cemetery in Bennington, Kansas, officiated by Pastor Terry Danford.

Moyne Irene Hanes Siler

Ronald Joseph Carrico, commonly known as “Joe”, was born on November 1, 1943 and passed May 30, 2025, at the age of 81. Joe was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to his loving mother and father, Trudy and Joseph Carrico.

He was the eldest of 7 children and moved to California as a young boy. In 1996, Joe and his family moved to Kansas in which he lived there, raised his own family, and gained a community until he took his final breath. Joe was loved by so many, by those that knew him on a day to day basis and those that loved him from a distance. 

The world’s greatest “Papa” to all. Joe changed so many lives within his community and pushed his family to be the best versions of themselves. He was a beloved member of the “Pools Plus” and “Sunflower Pools and Patios” for 27 years. Not only did Joe love his career but it’s also known that Joe was a big fan of watching Nebraska Cornhusker sports.

In Joe’s final moments he was surrounded by an abundance of love. The room he resided in was made a home, not by the time spent but with the memories made within. The room was never empty, never a dull moment with Joe. Joe held on to life for as long as God allowed and was always the toughest fighter.

Joe has gained his wings and revisits his late family once more at heaven’s gates, his mother and father, Trudy and Joseph Carrico, his brother, Ben Carrico, his sisters, Connie and Laurie Carrico, daughter, Traci Gibson, and his grandson, Alexander. Joe’s memories and life lives on through so many including, his wife, Patricia Carrico, his children, Kathy Messengale and husband Dave, Meaghan Moreno and husband Robert, Sean Carrico, David Gibson, his siblings, Frank Carrico, Linda Carrico, and Debra Carrico. Joe also is remembered by his 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Joe will continue to live on in so many forms of love, whether it be the tough love that he’s embedded in his family and friends or the big heart that he often led with. His children, family, and wife have vowed to keep his memory alive in all that they do, they loved him and will never forget his words of wisdom that he wished was instilled within their hearts for many years to come.

Joe’s celebration of life service will be held on June 7, 2025 at Unitarian Universalist Church at 901 Beatrice, Salina Kansas at 10:00 A.M.

CMSgt Salvatore G. DiMatteo, USAF retired, was born October 10, 1939, and passed away May 27, 2025, in Colorado Springs.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Pierce DiMatteo; his two daughters: Salena DiMatteo-Dobbs (Bill) and Laurie Sherman (Tom); four grandchildren: Nathan, Annamarie, Jonathan, and Andrew Dobbs; his sister, Frances Collins; brother, Phil DiMatteo; and many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Lucia DiMatteo, his brother Nick DiMatteo, and two sisters: Phyllis D’Alesandro and Libby DeLeo.

Sal will be remembered for his storytelling, teaching, and generosity.

Many of his most colorful stories centered on his early life growing up in New York City, describing his old neighborhood, his wild friends, and his love of cars.&nbsp; At one time he had a reputation as the street racer everyone wanted to beat until he took those driving skills to the track, racing stock cars on the quarter mile track at New York’s Polo Grounds.&nbsp; He started buying cars at a very young age, would fix them up, drive them, and then sell them.&nbsp; When watching the movie “American Graffiti,” he would name the year and model of every car on screen, usually following up with “I owned one of those once…and I never should have gotten rid of it!”

In 1961, he enlisted at the recruiting booth in Times Square and began his 27-year career in the US Air Force.&nbsp; He started out in Civil Engineering but spent most of his career teaching professional military education, helping to shape the enlisted leadership.&nbsp; No matter where he went in the world, former students would approach and thank him for the impact he made in their lives and careers.

His first assignment was at Shilling Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas, where he met Nancy, who was the administrative assistant for the squadron commander.&nbsp; Sal would maintain the commander’s vehicle and bring the keys to Nancy each day.&nbsp; Not only did he notice her, he also fell for her 1962 Buick convertible. She was equally attracted to his Chrysler Imperial convertible. &nbsp;Together, and eventually with their two children, they embraced the Air Force life, including assignments in New York, California, Germany, Colorado, and England. 

Sal also served in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star. &nbsp;While traveling with the Air Force, the family took full advantage of the opportunity to see the world and travelled extensively.&nbsp; Their very first weekend in Germany, they drove to France for a picnic in the rain. Summers were spent on road trips through Europe or across the USA.&nbsp; They saw Pope John Paul II in Rome, wandered the casbah in Morocco, drove Colorado’s Million Dollar Highway pulling a camping trailer, and numerous other adventures or experiences.

After retiring in Colorado Springs, the family became avid supporters of the Air Force Academy, sponsoring cadets and becoming long time season ticket holders at Falcon football games.&nbsp; Sal became active with the cadet parents’ clubs and realized how many of the parents did not get to see the activities in which their sons and daughters were involved. He began videotaping events at the Academy and as more and more parents learned about his tapes, they would request that he attend certain activities to tape their kids, which he gladly did. &nbsp;Sal was incredibly talented and could fix almost anything mechanical.&nbsp; He landscaped and maintained a beautiful garden at their home in Colorado Springs and took on renovation projects at Nancy’s mother’s home in Kansas.&nbsp; He was also a wonderful cook and would make homemade pizza, tossing and spinning the dough in the air, for the girls’ childhood birthday parties.&nbsp; His meals shaped the family’s holiday traditions and that legacy continues with the next generation.

A memorial service will be held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas, on Friday, June 20, 2025.&nbsp; The family will receive visitors at 9:30 am and the service will begin at 10:00 followed immediately by burial with full military honors at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Sal's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses who provided care and comfort in his final days.

Salvatore G. DiMatteo

Roger LeRoy Borgmann, fourth child of Fred and Anna (Hermanns) Borgmann was born on Easter Monday, April 6, 1931, at the family farm southwest of Athol, Kansas. Roger passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital at the age of 94.

Roger was baptized on April 26, 1931, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Athol, where he was also confirmed on May 20, 1945. He attended grade school at Silver Ridge School, located half mile south of the family’s farm and graduated from Smith Center High School in 1948.

After high school he became involved with the family’s farming operation. In May of 1951, at a cousin’s wedding (LaVoe Hermanns Zabel) he was introduced to his future wife, Stella Rahjes, and it was “love at first sight”. In September 1951, he was inducted into the Marine Corps where he served for two years. On June 11, 1954, he and Stella were married at the St. John Lutheran Church in Kensington, KS.

Three daughters were born to this union, twins, Linda and Lucinda on June 22, 1955, and Rhonda, June 3, 1956.

They lived on two rented farms, one, south and east of Kensington and the other, two miles south and one half east of the St. John Lutheran Church, Athol. Then in 1963, they purchased the farm one fourth mile east of the church from their Uncle Lawrence Borgmann. They were the third generation of Borgmanns to live on that farm. In 1996 they sold the farm and moved to Smith Center to retire after 42 years of farming. Thirty-seven of those years were in the dairy business. Roger enjoyed farming and working with livestock and the work responsibilities were shared with his wife, Stella.

Roger was a lifelong active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Athol and served on Church Council for 3 terms, was Sunday School Superintendent for 2 terms, sang in the Men’s Choir for many years and was Sexton.

He served on the Athol Co-op board and the Smith County Rural Water District board. After retiring from the dairy business, he helped Lee Oliver with his Auction Business, a relationship that turned into one of very good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Stella, an infant brother Milford, sister Lois and brother-in-law Don Keller, brother Orville and sister-in-law Beverly and son-in-law Henry Ring.

Roger is survived by daughters, Linda Peterson (Dennis) of Salina, KS, Lucinda Ring (Tim) of Augusta, KS and Rhonda Wright ( Jon) of Lincoln, KS; grandkids Travis (Jayme) Peterson, Leslie Ring, Andrea Ring, Brian Ring (Jessie), Jonna Wright (Cody), Katie Graham (Nathaniel); great grandchildren Tanner &amp; Tucker Peterson, Kiara, Tyrice, Sier Ring, Nash, Colt &amp; Kace Ring, Tayten &amp; Paislee Graham; great-great grandson Marcel Ring and adopted son Lee Oliver.

Roger was a very good man, a very good dad! He always thought of the other person first. He helped people in many ways, sending them cards, visiting people, making phone calls and giving rides to church.

 </figure>Roger LeRoy Borgmann, fourth child of Fred and Anna (Hermanns) Borgmann was born on Easter Monday, April 6, 1931, at the family farm southwest of Athol, Kansas. Roger passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital at the age of 94.Roger was baptized on April 26, 1931, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Athol, where he was also confirmed on May 20, 1945. He attended grade school at Silver Ridge School, located half mile south of the family’s farm and graduated from Smith Center High School in 1948.After high school he became involved with the family’s farming operation. In May of 1951, at a cousin’s wedding (LaVoe Hermanns Zabel) he was introduced to his future wife, Stella Rahjes, and it was “love at first sight”. In September 1951, he was inducted into the Marine Corps where he served for two years. On June 11, 1954, he and Stella were married at the St. John Lutheran Church in Kensington, KS.Three daughters were born to this union, twins, Linda and Lucinda on June 22, 1955, and Rhonda, June 3, 1956.They lived on two rented farms, one, south and east of Kensington and the other, two miles south and one half east of the St. John Lutheran Church, Athol. Then in 1963, they purchased the farm one fourth mile east of the church from their Uncle Lawrence Borgmann. They were the third generation of Borgmanns to live on that farm. In 1996 they sold the farm and moved to Smith Center to retire after 42 years of farming. Thirty-seven of those years were in the dairy business. Roger enjoyed farming and working with livestock and the work responsibilities were shared with his wife, Stella.Roger was a lifelong active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Athol and served on Church Council for 3 terms, was Sunday School Superintendent for 2 terms, sang in the Men’s Choir for many years and was Sexton.He served on the Athol Co-op board and the Smith County Rural Water District board. Roger LeRoy Borgmann

Mary Ellen Spidell, 80, of Solomon, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Born in Conway, Iowa, on October 30, 1944, to Edrie Arlene (McCreary) and Frank Mackillen Gardner.

Mary’s compassionate spirit led her to work in various caregiving roles throughout her life, including in the nursery, as a hairstylist, and in the kitchen at St. Francis Boys Home. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her work, as she poured her heart into her hobbies and time with loved ones.

She found joy in sewing, swing dancing, and line dancing, and spent many years creating beautiful ceramics for her family. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Lisa Holliman (David) of Solomon, Kansas; Hiedie Hurde (Donald) of Salina, Kansas; Julie Hogue (Kevin) of Solomon, Kansas; a sister, Joann Pryor (David) of Mt. Washington, Kentucky; brothers, Keith Gardner (Kathy) of Camdenton, Missouri, and Ronald Gardner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

She is also survived by grandchildren, Andrew and Angelica Moyer, Geoffrey Holliman, Ashley Hurde, Tiffany and Skyler Klein, Alyssa Hurde, Michael and Bailee Holliman, Alexandra and Shaun Myers, Brandon Hogue, Jordan Hurde, Darlene Moyer, Kaylene Allen, and Kara Allen; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lorie Morgan; grandson, Dustin Moyer; great-grandson, Tyreeke Hurde; and sisters, Norma Chase, Donna Vittoe, Linda Miller, and Francis Gardner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 4th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas.

Mary Ellen Spidell

Sandra “Sandi” Kay Smith, 46, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, surrounded by family at Kenwood View Health &amp; Rehabilitation Center in Salina, KS.

She was born August 17, 1978, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Ronald Ivan and Joyce Almina (Ring) Osterloh.&nbsp; Sandi grew up and attended school in Rose Hill, KS.&nbsp; She also completed several online courses in criminal investigation.

Sandi worked as a direct care staff member at MCDS and Disability Supports.&nbsp; She also worked at several fast food restaurants and convenience stores.

Sandi was born with an unbreakable spirit.&nbsp; She had a bright, fiery, and stubborn personality with a playful heart and was fiercely devoted to her family.&nbsp; Her life was defined by things she loved: her children, grandchildren, and the simple joy of coloring in every spare moment, especially with gel pens.&nbsp; She collected dolphin themed items, and nothing made her smile wider than receiving a big pack of colorful gel pens or a trinket adorned with her beloved dolphins.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include three children, Mikaylla Sutton (Griffin) of Edmond, OK, Deveana Smith of McPherson, KS, and Tristan Smith of McPherson, KS; mother, Joyce Rouse (Leonard) of McPherson, KS; sister, Suzy Dishmon (Climyel) of McPherson, KS; brothers, Randy Osterloh (Lacey) of Cortez, CO and James Canada of Hutchinson, KS; grandsons, Damien &amp; Wyatt; and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Osterloh.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.&nbsp; A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Colorado.

Robert “Bobby” Marvin Yoder, Jr., 57, formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away May 15, 2025, in Sedona, AZ.&nbsp; Bobby was born August 28, 1967, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Robert Yoder, Sr. and Janice (Taylor) Bean.

Bobby loved his family, friends, music, singing, drawing, painting, going to the movies, and shopping.&nbsp; He was a collector of many things: coins, eyeglasses, hats, and shoes just to name a few.

He worked at Central Plastics until he set out on his journey to see the world.&nbsp; He was so happy being in Sedona.&nbsp; He said it was the most beautiful place.&nbsp; He spent his time hiking and enjoying nature and the scenery of the mountains.

Survivors include his mother, Janice Bean of Inman, KS; stepmother, Doris Yoder of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Tonya (Jerry) Coy of McPherson, KS, Laree (Rickey) Tingen of McPherson, KS, Loretta Schroeder of Great Bend, KS; and Gabe (Scott) Ravenstien of Great Bend, KS; brothers, Jeff (Nene) DeBusk of Topeka, KS and Troy Sullivan of Fort Worth, TX; lots of nieces and nephews and many friends.&nbsp; Bobby is loved and missed so very much.

Robert Marvin Yoder

Charles (Chuck) Raymond Stein, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2025. He was born in Ashland, KS on December 1, 1938, to Benedict A. &amp; Fredeline F. (LaBarge) Stein.

He moved with his family to Minneapolis in 1940. He graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1956. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving 27 months overseas. After returning home, he went back to his high school job washing cars for Handy Motor Company. He was promoted to a car salesman on April 1, 1960.

He was united in marriage to Radonna Pitts on July 8, 1961. In 1964, he took a job with Kansas Truck Equipment as a traveling salesman until August 1965. At that time, he purchased 50% of Handy Motor Company making him the youngest General Motors dealer in the country that was not in a family-owned dealership. He managed Handy-Stein Chevrolet-Olds-Buick from 1965 to 1970, purchasing the remaining 50% of the dealership in 1970. He managed Chuck Stein Chevrolet, Oldsmobile &amp; Buick, Inc. until 1985 when he sold the dealership &amp; “semi” retired.

He &amp; Radonna also owned &amp; managed C &amp; R Monogramming where Radonna sewed &amp; he sold her finished products. Chuck returned to his true love of selling cars in 1995. He sold for Holm Automotive from 1995 to 2001, returned to Minneapolis to manage Bennett Auto Plex until 2009, when he returned to Holm Automotive selling cars until right before his death.Chuck not only loved his family well, but he loved his many customers. He loved everything about cars, from selling them, to owning them &amp; admiring them from afar. He also loved the University of Kansas &amp; the Kansas Jayhawks where he donated a car to the athletic department for 55 years.Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brother James B. Stein (Patricia); in-laws, Herschel &amp; Ethel Pitts; Gwen Pitts, Dick Pitts (Judy), Jerry Pitts; &amp; great granddaughter, Reagan Blake Carbajo.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Radonna; children, Elizabeth (Beth) Kindall (Brent) of Minneapolis, KS, Julie Reed (Kevin) of Wichita, KS, and David Stein (Robin) of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Caleb Kindall, Abilene, KS, Abby Sills (Tre), Loveland, CO, Kendall Reed (Ashton), Dallas, TX, Maddie Schuchardt (Carter), Fayetteville, AR, Paige Carbajo (Andy), Overland Park, KS, Kaitlin Stein (soon to be Christian), all over the country &amp; Grace Fischer (Matt), Overland Park, KS; and great grandchildren: Scottie Joy Fischer &amp; Eden Jane Sills with the first boy to arrive soon!The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 6 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Graveside services will be at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, June 7 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., at the Salina First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio, Salina, KS 67401. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina First Church of the Nazarene and be left in care of the funeral home.
