Jerry Tryban of Salina, Kansas, passed away on February 2, at the age of 74. He was born in May 1951 to Ed and Frances Tryban and was raised in Roanoke, Virginia. After high school, Jerry spent four years in full-time volunteer work for Jehovah’s Witnesses, printing Bibles and study aids, and continued to spend the majority of his life teaching the Bible to others.

Jerry met a local Salina girl, Trudy Martin, at a friend’s wedding, and they married in 1975. They raised three children together in Smolan, Kansas.

Jerry enjoyed playing tennis and golf and was well known by many locals as “Jerry the Janitor,” as well as for his unique, boisterous laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy; sons, Joshua and his wife, Jessika, of Crescent City, California, and Nathan and his wife, Xiomara, of Loveland, Colorado, along with grandson, Jonah; daughter Molly Dahl and granddaughter, Aubree; sister, Suzy Cannon of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Tom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2085 Hageman Ave., Salina, Kansas 67401.

Robert Frederick Frobenius II (“Bob”) was born June 5, 1945, in Denver, Colorado and passed&nbsp;away on February 4, 2026, in Salina, Kansas.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Frobenius (née Sapp); his sons, Robert Frobenius&nbsp;III (Stacie) and Anton Frobenius (April); and his grandchildren, Ethan Frobenius and Elliot&nbsp;Frobenius. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alta Frobenius (née Swisher) and Robert&nbsp;Frederick Frobenius, Sr., and by his brother, James Frobenius.&nbsp;Bob devoted much of his life to service and the care of others. He served as a deputy with the

Saline County Sheriff’s Office, later as an officer with the Derby Police Department, and also&nbsp;worked in security with Boeing. In time, Bob became a funeral director and the owner of&nbsp;Roselawn Mortuary and Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, a calling he carried with dignity&nbsp;and compassion.&nbsp;Bob had a spark—opinionated, candid, and full of emotion. He could be difficult at times, but&nbsp;it was never from indifference. He lived with his heart on his sleeve, loved fiercely, and&nbsp;remained deeply family oriented. Even through difficult later years, he kept a zest for life and a&nbsp;drive to learn, always reaching for understanding and knowledge. Bob loved working with people, time in nature, and learning for learning’s sake. He had a deep interest in genealogy and spent countless hours researching the background of his family tree. He traveled extensively, including through humanitarian interests, and remained curious about people’s stories and the wider world. He also enjoyed shooting sports and the discipline and focus they require.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 13 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. &nbsp;Service will be Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel, with food following&nbsp;graveside.

Robert Frederick Frobenius II

Kenneth James Klaus, 88, of Salina, passed away at his home on February 2, 2026.

Ken was born on August 3, 1937, in Antonino, Kansas, to Martin and Felicitas (Leiker) Klaus. He grew up alongside seven siblings.

On January 9, 1960, Ken married Bernice (Dinkel). Together, they built a life and raised three children.

Ken took great pride in caring for his lawn and garden and enjoyed restoring antique tractors. Above all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bernice, of Salina; sons, Leon (Mary) of Salina and Randy of Weston, Florida; daughter, Karen (Jerome) of Eugene, Oregon; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his sister Ann; brother Harold; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brothers, Joseph and Charles Klaus; brother, Lester Klaus; and sisters, Marilyn and Charlene Flax.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud St., Salina.

Kenneth James Klaus

Judy Carolyn Schafer, 83, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and formerly of McPherson, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with her family by her side at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Judy was born on April 21, 1942, in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Virginia (Ellis) and Dr. Joseph LeRoy Love. She graduated from Austin High School in 1960 and went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Library Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1992, she proudly graduated with honors from Wichita State University, receiving her Master’s degree in Educational Administration.

Judy was a lifelong educator, licensed to teach in five states, and devoted her life to helping children and others learn, grow, and feel supported. She served as the librarian at Prosperity Elementary School and the District Media Coordinator for the Buhler School District, from which she retired. Known for her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit, Judy touched countless lives throughout her career and beyond.

Outside of her professional life, Judy cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially moments shared at the farm with her beloved husband, Kenny. She had a deep love for animals and never hesitated to help any stray dog that crossed her path.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Kenny; two daughters, Tracy Silvers of Denver, Colorado, and Gina Wilson and her husband, Jeremy, of Broomfield, Colorado; a son, Joe Schafer and his wife, Becca, of Durango, Colorado; a brother, Dr. Joseph Love, Jr., and his wife, Laurie, of Champaign, Illinois; six grandchildren, Saffron Silvers, Sage Silvers, Madeline Wilson, Jack Wilson, Liat Schafer, and Sadie Schafer; and many extended relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Natasha Hashman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, Kansas 67460. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

Sondra Simon, 72, Rantoul, KS, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her home. She was born Sondra Boss on July 21, 1953, to Max and Annabelle (Quinn) Boss.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Sondra was a graduate of Bennington High School. She worked at Tony’s Pizza for over 30 years. After that, she became a massage therapist and that was job she thoroughly enjoyed.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

She had a strong faith and love for Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of the Bennington Bible Church and various Emanuel Foursquare churches. She was a lover of animals, especially dogs and horses. Sondra loved spending time with her family and she adored her grandchildren. She never knew a stranger, and it was almost annoying how she would talk to anyone at any time.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

She was preceded in death by her father, Max.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Todd Pooler, 64, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.Todd was born in Augusta, Maine, on February 15, 1961, to Anita (Gagne) and Arthur Pooler.

After graduating from high school, Todd entered the United States Army, where he proudly served for seven years in the United States, Germany, and overseas. During his service, Todd worked in the military police and took great pride in protecting and supporting those around him.

Following his military career, Todd held numerous jobs, including construction and cooking—his lifelong passion. Each year, he dedicated a month of his time to Habitat for Humanity or Mission work, using his skills to help build and repair homes for others. Todd was known for being a hard worker with a generous heart, always ready to lend a hand.

Todd is survived by his sisters, Vanessa Mayhew; Michelle Hughes; and Lisa Giguere all of Winslow, Maine; and by his brother, Brad Pooler and his wife, Angel of Salina, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as countless beloved friends in the Salina area.He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been chosen, and no services will take place in accordance with Todd’s wishes.

Todd Pooler

Darwin Leon Gray, Salina, Kansas (91) passed away January 26, 2026. Born on 8 January 1935 in Assaria, Kansas to Edwin and May (Smith) Gray.

Leon is preceded in death by Edwin (Father), May (Mother), Lloyd (Half-Brother), Larry (Brother), Lola (Half-Sister), Oda (Half-Sister), and Oral (Half-Sister).

Leon married Diana Greenegard on May 15, 1960, in Fostoria, Kansas.

Dad was a graduate of the Assaria High School Class of 1953. Following graduation, he went to work in bridge construction. Leon then went on to work for the State of Kansas for 39 years. First, working as a dispatcher and communications technician for the Kansas Highway Patrol. Then, as a Communications Coordinator for the KS Dept of EMS.

After retirement, he drove a school bus for USD 306 Southeast of Saline for 19 years as a substitute bus driver. Finally, Leon drove a bus for 9 years for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Salina.

He was active in many organizations. Leon was a Charter Life member of the American Radio Relay League (Ham Radio). He served as Frequency Coordinator for APCO for several years. Dad was a Life Member of both National Rifle Association and Kansas State Rifle Association. Leon was also a member of the Bennington Chapter, Kansas State Society Sons Of The American Revolution. Leon was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary and a new member of American Legion Post 62. Finally, He was a licensed private pilot.

In 1953, Leon enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve serving for 6 years and then enlisting in the U.S. Army Reserve serving for 3 years. He received Honorable Discharges from both services.

A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for February 14, 2026, at 2 pm at Ryans Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas Honor Flight or your favorite charity. Condolences may be left at Ryans.

Leon is survived by his wife Diana of 65 years, Sons; Doug (Westmoreland), Darin (Abilene), Devin (Abilene), and Grand-Sons, John (Wichita), and James (Wichita)

Born on 8 January 1935 in Assaria, Kansas to Edwin and May (Smith) Gray.Leon is preceded in death by Edwin (Father), May (Mother), Lloyd (Half-Brother), Larry (Brother), Lola (Half-Sister), Oda (Half-Sister), and Oral (Half-Sister).Leon married Diana Greenegard on May 15, 1960, in Fostoria, Kansas.Dad was a graduate of the Assaria High School Class of 1953. Following graduation, he went to work in bridge construction. Leon then went on to work for the State of Kansas for 39 years. First, working as a dispatcher and communications technician for the Kansas Highway Patrol. Then, as a Communications Coordinator for the KS Dept of EMS.After retirement, he drove a school bus for USD 306 Southeast of Saline for 19 years as a substitute bus driver. Finally, Leon drove a bus for 9 years for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Salina.He was active in many organizations. Leon was a Charter Life member of the American Radio Relay League (Ham Radio). He served as Frequency Coordinator for APCO for several years. Dad was a Life Member of both National Rifle Association and Kansas State Rifle Association. Leon was also a member of the Bennington Chapter, Kansas State Society Sons Of The American Revolution. Leon was a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary and a new member of American Legion Post 62. Finally, He was a licensed private pilot.In 1953, Leon enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve serving for 6 years and then enlisting in the U.S. Army Reserve serving for 3 years. He received Honorable Discharges from both services.A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for February 14, 2026, at 2 pm at Ryans Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas Honor Flight or your favorite charity. Condolences may be left at Ryans.Leon is survived by his wife Diana of 65 years, Sons; Doug (Westmoreland), Darin (Abilene), Devin (Abilene), and Grand-Sons, John (Wichita), and James (Wichita)

Helen Graves, 99, of Salina, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026.&nbsp; She was born December 16, 1926 on the family ranch in Ellsworth County, KS to Tom and Minnie (Wagner) Wikoff.&nbsp;

Helen attended a one room schoolhouse until the 8th&nbsp;grade.&nbsp; She then attended Brookville High School, graduating in 1944.&nbsp;

She married John A. Graves on February 14, 1951.&nbsp;

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, John; parents, brothers, Paul, Lester and Grant Wikoff, sister Florence Schwerdtfager and Jay and Don Graves

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Walker. &nbsp;Patti Counts; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 4th&nbsp;at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp;

Francis Rolon Temple, 87 Salina, KS passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026. Francis was born on September 4, 1938, at Cheyenne Wells, CO.

He married Wanda on October 5, 1956, and happily married for 53 years. They raised five children. Francis and Wanda settled in Omaha, NE where he was employed at Mid-Continent Bottling Company for 20 years, then moving to Lincoln, NE in 2000 working in Lincoln Public Schools. Francis will be remembered for his endless love of family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. 

Francis moved back to Salina, KS in 2010 to be closer to family and friends. He then married Judy Thayer.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children from his first marriage, Rick Temple of May, OK, Alan Temple of Bennington KS, Doug (Jolene) Temple of Buchanan, ND, and Pam (Brad) Allen of Lincoln NE; 13 grandchildren and 18 great Grandchildren; stepchildren, Alan, Terry, and Kay Thayer; and brother, Raymond (Mary) Temple.

He was preceded by death by his first wife, Wanda; son, Ronald in 1964; parents; eight brothers; and two sisters. 

          Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., Friday, February 6 at the Tescott United Methodist Church, 201 N. Minnesota Ave., Tescott, KS 67484. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Francis Rolon Temple

Laurie Rae Aufdemberge was born on August 22nd in Norfolk, Nebraska to Vernon Wood and Martha Koch. She was a dedicated loan officer of Bennington State Bank for 27 years and a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she served as the financial secretary and a Sunday school teacher. She had a love for her plants, sports, weekend naps, and a good, strong cup of coffee. Her talent of interior design was evident when you walked into her home – warm and inviting just like she was. Laurie was a light everywhere she went and to everyone she met. She loved gathering with family and friends in “The Shack”, facetiming and reading books with her grandkids, and sitting with her beloved husband on their back porch, simply enjoying each other’s presence in God’s creation.

Her family, who awaits to join her in the presence of our Savior are as follows; her soulmate, Mike Aufdemberge, mother, Marty Koch of Lincoln, NE, daughters, Lindsay Watson of Phoenix, AZ, Miranda Weidenhaft (Chase) of Shady Bend, KS, Lexa Gillen (Spencer) of Morrill, NE. Thayne A. Spresser

Victoria (Vikki) Jane Whitead was born August 10, 1952, in Red Cloud, Nebraska to Loren and Avis (Schoonover) Hoskins.&nbsp; She was married to Kenneth L. Lager on September 6, 1969.&nbsp; To this union six children were born.&nbsp; She married Dwight J. Whitead on February 25, 2001, in Woodland Park, Colorado and added to her family two stepchildren.

Vikki’s restless nature inspired her to call several states home. From Nebraska, Oregon, Florida, and Colorado, to her last stop in Kansas. Vikki worked in Newspaper advertising sales and church ministry. &nbsp; Vikki enjoyed her work as a ministerial Coordinator, where she was a member at the Fellowship Christian Church in Concordia.&nbsp; She was co-president of Christian Women’s Outreach and served as a volunteer and board member of CASA.

Vikki enjoyed her family, working in the church, women’s ministry, her ladies Bible study group, LAFF (life after fifty-five) group, and her little dog Ruby. She also enjoyed her visits with her siblings and nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Vikki was generous of spirit. She desired to see the best in people and welcomed people of all makes and models.&nbsp; She enjoyed deep conversations and was a good listener.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Vikki passed away after a brief battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 73 years old on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis, Ks.&nbsp;

Victoria will be deeply missed by her husband Dwight J. Whitead; her children from her first marriage to Kenneth Lager, Karri, Sonya, Mandy, Wendy, Quentin, and Danielle; sons-in-law, Bill, Richard, Scott, Todd, and Andy; step-children, Zachary and Ashley, daughter-in-law Cynde, grandchildren, Airell, Austin, Dakota, Levi, Max, Carson, Emily, Brianna, Sawyer, Sylvanna, Jordan, Emalee, Isabella, Tyler, Breanna, Lydia, Titus, Drew, Oliver, Penelope, Emma, and Abigail; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, sister, MaryEllen and brother Don, and many nieces and nephews.

Vikki was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Avis Hoskins, brothers Ted and Dick, sisters Barbara and Carol.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Fellowship Christian Church in Concordia with Dr. Kirk Mallette officiating.

Victoria Jane Whitead

Adella Ruth (Bohn) Parks, the daughter of Matt Bohn and Ruth (Berroth) Bohn, was born on November 22, 1937, at Alma, Kansas. She was one of 8 children; Charles, Delbert, Jean, Bernice, Dave, Judy, and Larry. She attended a one room school house in Alma.

On June 29, 1954, Adella was united in marriage to Clement Roy Parks, Jr. at Alma, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Hill City for several years prior to moving to McPherson, Kansas. Through the years, Adella was a stay at home mom and enjoyed taking care of her family. After her children were older, she had an in-home daycare, and occasionally, would clean houses for a few people in town.

Adella was a Christian, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many.

Adella Parks, 88, passed away on January 29th, 2026, while in the loving care of her daughter, Rebecca, in Colorado. Adella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Charles, Delbert, and Dave; and two sisters, Jean and Bernice; two sons, Monty and Gordon; a son-in-law, Robert Carlson; a granddaughter, Shayna Pritchard; and three grandsons, Cole and Cody Parks and Atcher Nading.

She is survived by her children, Bill Parks of McPherson, KS, Tim Parks of Rifle, CO, Brenda Carlson of St. Augustine, FL, and Rebecca Pritchard and her husband, Chuck Pritchard, of De Beque, CO; her siblings, Judy Oppenlander of Wamego, KS and Larry Bohn of Alma, KS; brother-in-law, Richard Parks of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Maxine Bohn of McPherson, KS; 20 grandchildren, Andriea, Jason, Danny, Krystal, James, Kristin, Tyler, Shanda, Kesley, Devon, Brianna, Emma, Andrew, Jeff, Jenny, Dayna, Lyndsy, Sherra, Becky and Heather; her 43 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Macy, Skyler, Ava, Jillian, Colby, Jayd, Cassie, Destany, Landen, Mya, Jace, Jesse, Brooklyn, Ellie, Elijah, Jaden, Rhian, Ridge, Rhett, Rooks, Kannon, Hattie, Jerrett, Juliette, Jace, Jillian, Amaya, Brittney, Baylee, Brayden, Eli, Kaden, Traetyn, Kynnidy, Allyson, Abram, Andrew, Aubrey, Blake, Lucas, Bridger, and Lana; and two great-great-grandchildren, Zander and Bekkan, and one due in March.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 29, 2026, at the McPherson Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.&nbsp;

She was one of 8 children; Charles, Delbert, Jean, Bernice, Dave, Judy, and Larry. She attended a one room school house in Alma.On June 29, 1954, Adella was united in marriage to Clement Roy Parks, Jr. at Alma, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Hill City for several years prior to moving to McPherson, Kansas. Through the years, Adella was a stay at home mom and enjoyed taking care of her family. After her children were older, she had an in-home daycare, and occasionally, would clean houses for a few people in town.Adella was a Christian, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many.Adella Parks, 88, passed away on January 29th, 2026, while in the loving care of her daughter, Rebecca, in Colorado. Mary Kathleen Kindel, known as Kathy, age 74, of Aurora, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 in Aurora, KS surrounded by her family.&nbsp; Kathy was born on March 6, 1951 to John &amp; Velda (Geisler) May in Concordia, KS

She graduated from Concordia High School, where she met the love of her life, Gene Kindel.&nbsp;&nbsp;They were married on&nbsp;June 14, 1969 and together they had five children, Kathleen, Mike, William, Allen &amp; Kevin.

For many years, Kathy worked at Scott Specialties. She was a member of the Aurora Altar Society and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Aurora.&nbsp;&nbsp;Kathy enjoyed sewing, crafting, and tending to her flowers, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid bird watcher and enthusiast.

Glenda Ann Mummert, 75, of Derby (formerly of Salina), passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026. &nbsp;She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 28, 1950, to George L. Brand and Leona P. (Tomlinson). &nbsp;She taught at Kansas State University and Salina Aerial Technical College. &nbsp;She also served on the board of education. &nbsp;

Glenda Ann Mummert

Marshall H. Charbonneau was born on November 11, 1936, in Concordia, Kansas, to Fremont and Barbara (Mentgen) Charbonneau. He passed peacefully from this life on Friday, January 30, 2026, at North Central Kansas Medical Center in Concordia at the age of 89.

On February 7, 1959, he married Mary Louise (Vint) Charbonneau, in Concordia. Together they raised four daughters: Marcia, Marian, Michelle, and Melanie.

Marshall was a hardworking man his entire life. In his younger years, he worked in construction for Hillary Wentz. In 1970, he began a long and proud career as a truck driver for C&amp;C Truck Line, where he logged over one million miles behind the wheel of his Kenworth semi — earning a special jacket to prove it. He continued driving until 2020, retiring at the age of 83. He nicknamed his last truck, “Blackie” for its black Kenworth exterior, it was one of his favorites. Even into his late 80s, Marshall stayed busy working summers for the Cloud County Highway Department, hauling rock from Clay Center. He was always early to work and never clocked out until his two loads were finished.

Marshall was a happy-go-lucky guy with an easygoing personality. One of his most cherished moments was serving as Santa Claus at Sunset Home last Christmas, bringing smiles to everyone around him. He enjoyed watching new construction, especially the new hospital and college tech building and sat and watched the old hospital being demolished. He loved people watching at Walmart and carried that same curiosity with him during his time at Sunset Home, where he always seemed to know the latest happenings.

In his free time, Marshall enjoyed watching television — especially westerns like&nbsp;The Rifleman&nbsp;and&nbsp;Gunsmoke&nbsp;— feeding the bunnies and squirrels (non-salted peanuts), playing bingo, and teasing those he loved most.

He is survived by his daughters: Marcia Mick; Marian (Kent) Condray; Michelle Guevara, all of Concordia, Kansas and Melanie (Greg) Germann, Clifton, Kansas. Marshall H. Charbonneau

Georgana “Georgie” Lorane (Hixson) Ballou, of Salina, Kan., found serene peace on January 25, 2026, holding the hand of her dearest love and surrounded by family.

Born April 8, 1941, in Inola, Oklahoma, she entered the world small and frail yet quickly revealed a spark and determination that would define her life. With the strength and love of her parents, Wilma Jean (Stark) and George Calvin Hixson, she defied the odds from the very beginning.

In 1944, Georgie moved with her family to Kansas. While her father served his country, she helped friends and family endure the hardships of wartime. One cherished memory from that time was selling paper flowers alongside her brother. Her lifelong love of animals and gardening also began to take root during these early years. After her father returned home, she helped her family farm, learning about and loving the land . Georgie attended grade school in Falun, Bavaria, and Hedville, then went on to attend high school in Brookville, graduating from Salina Central. Throughout her youth, she worked various jobs, including at The Crown, The Royal, and the Salina Laundries.

Georgie met Hayden Ballou while searching for a baseball under a clothesline, a simple moment that began a lifelong partnership. They were married on January 10, 1959, and together built a family grounded in love, and hard work.

A woman of many talents and boundless generosity, Georgie spent 21 years managing the poultry barn for the Tri Rivers Fair and Rodeo. She shared her sewing skills as a 4-H clothing leader and found joy in Girl Scouts, an organization that shaped her youth and later allowed her to guide others as a troop leader. Her nurturing spirit touched countless children during the years she provided childcare at All Star Lanes.

Many will remember Georgie for her time teaching Home Economics at Elmhurst Christian School. She was also a devoted PTA member for each of her children. Never one to slow down, she remained active in EHU and the Hedville Ladies Club.

Georgie’s midlife career included time at Coastal Mart, followed by 22 years at Target, where she formed lasting friendships while stocking shelves and serving customers. In retirement, she found joy working in the garden department at Lowe’s. She never wanted to stop working and giving to others.

Those who knew Georgie best relied on her steady, loving advice, knowing she was always a safe place. She lived fully and attentively, often saying she slept with one eye open so she wouldn’t miss a moment of life.

Georgie now joins her parents, her brother, Allen, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and her sweet great-grandson, Hayden George Ballou, in Heaven’s glory. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband; sisters Susan and Sharon; bonus daughter Pat Webb (Eddie); children Anna Campbell (John), David Ballou (wife), Jeannie Jorgensen (Mike), Cassie Streit (Shawn); eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law whom she loved dearly.

A come-and-go celebration of Georgie’s life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina, Kansas.

She lived fully and attentively, often saying she slept with one eye open so she wouldn’t miss a moment of life.Georgie now joins her parents, her brother, Allen, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and her sweet great-grandson, Hayden George Ballou, in Heaven’s glory. Gary J. Hageman passed away on January 30, 2026 at his home in Salina, KS.

Funeral arrangements are with Baker Funeral Home in Wichita, KS.

Funeral will be held on February 4, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton of Wichita.&nbsp;

Rosary will be at 10:00 am and the mass will follow at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, also in Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucille and Sylvester Hageman and a sister, Janet Hageman.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Hageman of Salina and his two sons.&nbsp; John Hageman (Tara) of Great Falls, MT and William Hageman of Wichita. Also his four grandchildren, Jackson, Brooklyn, Calla and Tessa.

Gary was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina and is also survived by many brothers and sisters.

Janice Louise Hattan, died on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the North Central Medical Center, Concordia, Kansas. She was born in Concordia, Kansas to Francis and Dorothy (Schrandt) Marcotte on July 3, 1952.

She was a proud farm girl who did a variety of chores growing up on a farm outside of Aurora, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;She is a 1970 graduate of Concordia High School and received her associate degree from Cloud County Community College.&nbsp;&nbsp;At Cloud she was a member of the first women’s basketball team.

She was united in marriage to Gregory Hattan on August 9, 1975, in Concordia.&nbsp;&nbsp;She worked for Northern Trust Bank in Chicago while Greg attended Northwestern dental school.&nbsp;&nbsp;In June 1977, they moved to Concordia where Janice worked as a para educator for over 25 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a member of CCHC Auxiliary and served as president.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was also a member of the Altar Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She enjoyed playing pickleball and was a loyal member of the exercise class at Dumbbells fitness where she looked forward to her weekly workouts with her friends.

Survivors include, her husband, Greg, son, Justin and wife Leah, West Des Moines, IA; daughter, Jennifer and Fiancé, Selwyn Robles, Chicago, Ill.; and foreign exchange student, daughter, Liese (Erwin) Switzerland; grandchildren, William, Charlie, and Emma Hattan; brother, Michael Marcotte, Aurora, sisters, Jeanette (Don) Deneault, Concordia, Janell (Joe) Goedert, Andover, brother-in-law, Don Collette (Rozann), Montana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dorothy, sisters, Beverly Collette, Theresa McManigal.

Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m., on Tuesday evening, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, with the family receiving friends after the Rosary in the Parish Hall until 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be led by Fr. Joseph Kieffer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.

Eleanor Mae Jones, 81, of Salina, passed away, Monday, January 26, 2026.&nbsp; She was born to the late James Henry Clay and Annie May Coleman McLaughin on September 25, 1944, in Pittsylvania County, Danville, Virginia

Eleanor attended Pittsylvania County schools in Blairs, Virginia. She married Therman Jones on December 28, 1963, and from this union, God blessed them with 5 children, Vincent, Therman (Gerald), James, Jeffrey and Janetta. Throughout her life, Eleanor was known for her dedication to God, her family, friends and the community. She was a member of the Salina Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she remained an active member until her passing. Eleanor grew up in Blairs and Danville, Virginia and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist in Blairs, Virginia. In 1967, she and Therman, along with the 3 oldest children, moved to Salina, Kansas. She and Therman became members of St. John’s Baptist Church where Eleanor was a member of the Senior Choir and the Gospelairs. Eleanor also taught Sunday school as well. Eleanor went back to high school at Salina High School, now Salina Central High School and received her diploma on Honor Roll. She also attended Brown Mackie College in their Medical Secretary Program. Eleanor worked a short time at Tony’s Pizza and then became self-employed cleaning private and commercial homes and businesses all over Salina.&nbsp; Eleanor was also a Foster Grandparent at Grace E. Stewart Elementary School through the Foster Parent Program until November 2020. Eleanor’s ministry was using her God given voice for her church, other churches, weddings, funerals, and anniversaries. Eleanor loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and friends. Eleanor enjoyed traveling and visited many states and places throughout her adult life. She also enjoyed spending time visiting the sick and shut in, those who had lost loved ones, and going to sing at all the nursing homes in Salina. Eleanor was an active member with the NAACP and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Ad Hoc Committee, planning and organizing Martin Luther King programs. Eleanor touched the lives of those around her with kindness, generosity, and her God-given voice.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Therman of their home, her children Vincent (Alicia) (Las Vegas), Therman (Gerald) of Salina, James (Topeka), Jeffrey (Candy) (New Underwood, South Dakota), Janetta Hamilton (Virginia Beach, Virginia), Stacey McLaughlin (Brooklyn, New York) and Carolyn Hull-Matthews (Michael) (Salina); 3 brothers, Bennie McLaughlin (Gertrude) (Cheyenne, Wyoming), Billy “Joe” McLaughlin (Margaret) (Jamaica, New York), Eugene “Cotton” McLaughlin (Jamaica, New York), a sister Loretta McLaughlin (Brooklyn, New York), and 2 special brothers Will Burnett (Topeka, Kansas), Travis Jackson (Salina), a special brother-in-law Willie Isom (Salina); 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, as well as a host of extended family and cherished friends. Eleanor will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and a true friend. She will also be remembered for her humor, spunk and God-given voice.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents James and Annie McLaughlin; Sisters: Rosa, Beulah, Brenda-Ann, Nelsie McLaughlin, Velma “Mona” McLaughlin; Brothers Moody McLaughlin; James Curtis “Chill” McLaughlin; 5 grandchildren: Baby Hamilton, Jacobi Miles Brown, Baby Twin Brown, Lillian Grace Brown and Seth Alan Scott Hamilton.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, February 5, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, 215 South Chicago Street, Salina.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born July 16, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Evertt (Pete) and Colleen Jennings.Tony's greatest joy was his wife of 37 years, Glynis, his children, grandchildren, friends and family. Together, he and Glynis built a life centered around family, adventure, and shared experiences.Camping, boating, side-by-side riding in Colorado, or traveling to visit their children and grandchildren, they were happiest doing it together. Their partnership was the foundation of everything - a love story built on laughter, adventure, and creating memories.Tony's sense of humor was contagious and he was often the life of the party. When plans went awry, he'd smile and say "making memories" - understanding our most treasured moments often come from things not going quite as expected. He had a gift for knowing when someone needed a kind word or a helping hand, and was the kind of friend always there when help was needed.He poured his love into his children and grandchildren, teaching them to be tough and take care of themselves while ensuring they had every opportunity to enjoy life's adventures. He seemed to know everything and could fix anything, teaching through his “knowledge nuggets”. His grandchildren knew him for fun - whether at the pool, the lake, or exploring the outdoors. As he'd often say, "Papa's old, Papa's gold."Tony proudly served in the U.S. Navy and remained a steadfast supporter of the military throughout his life. He worked as a Financial Planner at L&amp;L Advisors. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete.
