Judith Leslie Shannon, 79, of Salina, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas. &nbsp; She was born in McPherson, Kansas to Mark and Jenanette (Brewster) Anson on August 25, 1946.&nbsp; Judy worked for the Saline County Sheriff's Office and later retired. &nbsp;

She is survived by her daughter in law, Kathy and nephews, Barry, Mark and J.R.

She is preceded in death by her son, Richard Shannon; parents, Mark and Jenanette; sister, Robyn Reed.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at Roselawn Height Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas 67401. &nbsp;Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tryhna N. James, a cherished wife, mother, and friend. A resident of Downs, Kansas, Tryhna passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 36. She is survived by her devoted husband, Justin Johnson; her loving children, Izyiah and Laynee; and many dear friends. Although she has left us too soon, we find comfort in faith and the belief that her spirit is now at peace. A memorial service to celebrate Tryhna’s life will be announced and held at a later date.

Tryhna N. James

Grace Maureen Clausen-Rufener passed from all earthly cares on February 20, 2026, 2 months before her 95th birthday.

Grace was born in Lincoln, Kansas in 1931 and married Leo Willis Claussen in 1949. They settled in Dorrance, Kansas and were blessed with six children: Colleen, Jim, Kathleen, Lynn, Therese and Maureen. She and her family moved to Lindsborg in 1964 where she became involved with the Lindsborg Broadway RFD playing Rosalie in “Carnival”, and sang with the Messiah.

The family later moved to Salina where Grace sang with a band for a time and with the Sweet Adelines as well as singing for numerous weddings, funerals, and for the Kansas state governor. In addition to singing, Grace enjoyed drawing and writing. She wrote a book, “The Diary of Elizabeth Smith”, published under the name Maureen McGuire.

Grace worked for fifteen years at Beech Aircraft as a machinist and later in the Quality Control area. While working for Beech she earned the role of Union Steward and later President.

Grace’s husband and father of her six children, Leo W. Claussen died in 2003. She remarried in 2013 to Gerald A. Rufener, who died in 2024.

Grace is preceded I death by her son Jim, her eldest daughter, Colleen, both of her husbands and her parents, Fred H. and Carol J. Shaw.

Richard Harvey, 83, of Salina, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Richard was born in Salina, Kansas on February 15, 1943, to Hilda (Scott) and Earl Harvey.

Survivors include sisters, Julia Allen of Salina, Shirley Hawkins of California; brother, Danny Harvey of Salina; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his partner of 29 years, Dennis Byer; sisters Connie Gardner, Thelma Jean Harvey; and brothers Harold Harvey, Scott Harvey, and Warren Harvey.A memorial service will be held in April by the family.

Michael R. Rogers, 65, of Salina, Kansas passed away on February 20, 2026. Born on February 17, 1961, in Marion, Kansas, Michael was a beloved figure in his community and a pillar of strength to his family.

He began his career working on oil rigs for his father, Don Rogers, who preceded him in death. Michael also served as a part-time Sheriff's deputy in Marion County before dedicating himself to police work in 1985. Throughout his distinguished career, he served as a Patrolman, Detective, and Investigator for the State of Kansas, retiring from the Saline County Attorney's Office as an Investigator. His commitment to law enforcement and the safety of his community was unwavering.

Michael graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University with a double major in Biology and Chemistry, reflecting his lifelong love for learning and the natural world. This passion also manifested in his personal hobbies, which included hunting, camping, reading, and cooking. He cherished the outdoors, often spending his free time in nature's embrace, whether it was a quiet moment with a book or an adventurous camping trip with loved ones.

Michael was a loving husband to his wife, Janelle, and a devoted father to his children, Kendra Steinkirchner (TJ) and Erik Rogers (Anh-Minh). His joy was magnified by his ten grandchildren, who will miss their grandfather's warmth and guidance. He also leaves behind his mother, Cora Rogers; and siblings, Bill Rogers (Susan), Dawn Luna (George), and Corey Rogers (Shelia), along with many nieces and nephews.

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate&nbsp;Terri Thorp-Dolan, who went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 20, 2026, at her home in Basehor, Kansas, surrounded by the people she loved most. She was born January 8, 1963.

Terri was the light of every room she entered. She loved fiercely especially her devoted husband, Jim; her sons, Jason, Ryan, and Travis; her daughters-in-law, Maggie, and Chelsea; and her precious grandchildren, Elliot, Maci, Rylee, Isla, and Reese who were the very joy of her life. She loved to attend their sporting events and performances and found deep happiness in

celebrating &amp; watching them grow. Nothing brought her more pride than being their grandma.

She is also survived by her father, Jim; sisters Traci and Pam; many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles and cousins; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Travis James; her mother, Sally; mother-in-law, Joann; brother-in-law, Chuck; and her grandparents.

Terri loved music, reading, driving with the top down with her hair in the wind, dancing, and cheering on her Chiefs, Wildcats, and Royals. Some of her favorite times were spent at family gatherings or hiking in the mountains in Estes Park with her loved ones.&nbsp;

Her Catholic faith was the center of her life and sustained her through every season, including her courageous battle with cancer this past year. She believed life was meant to be celebrated and lived generously, and she made sure everyone around her felt seen, loved, and included.

Terri spent most of her life working in the healthcare industry where she got to showcase the love and care she had for others.&nbsp;

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. 9th St., Salina, KS, with inurnment following at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.&nbsp;

In honor of her courageous battle, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Jim Dolan or to the American Cancer Society.&nbsp;

Herman A. Shublom, 82, of Salina, died peacefully at his farm home on Friday, February 20, 2026, after a fierce battle with metastatic melanoma.&nbsp; He was born March 27, 1943, in Salina. He was the son of Mr. Laurence Edward and Goldie Margaret (Swanson) Shublom.&nbsp;

Herman graduated from Saina High School.&nbsp; He lived and farmed on his family’s land west of Salina until he met the love of his life, his late wife Jennie. He then moved to “town” for a several years.&nbsp; During the later time in town, they started building their house on the farm, which finished construction in 1989. He and Jennie were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Salina.

Herman was dedicated to his craft, farming mostly wheat, soybeans, and milo but in his younger years raised pigs and chickens.&nbsp; A knowledgeable, passionate, handyman, as most farmers are, loved being in field plowing the land and harvesting his crops.

He spent time on the Rural Saline County Water Board. He received a Bankers Conservation Award in 1997 for proper land use and conservation practices to maintain the fertility and longevity of his land.&nbsp; He loved visiting Russell’s for breakfast most mornings, and an occasional afternoon pie from there as well. He spent most of his evenings socializing at local establishments, connecting with friends, travelers, and locals alike.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie (Anderson); his parents; brother, Edward Shublom; and sister, Helen Winder.

He is survived by his daughter, Polly Adams Matherly (Kevin), and grandchildren, Kolton and Madison Matherly.

Visitation will be held from 4:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina, with a graveside burial service at 2 p.m. at the Smolan Cemetery, Smolan, KS.

Valerie K. Sare, 73, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away at Wesley Medical Center on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 7:27 p.m.

Valerie was born on January 12, 1953, in Abilene, the daughter of Kenneth and Bonnie (Mock) Bourbina. She was united in marriage to Ron Sare on November 3, 1973, in Abilene, Kansas.

Valerie’s life was defined by compassion and service to others. She operated a daycare for many years and also worked as a waitress while raising her children. Later, she pursued a career in emergency services, serving as an EMT for both Abilene and Herington EMS. Her dedication to caring for others inspired her to attend Kansas Wesleyan University, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1992. Valerie continued her career as an RN at Herington Municipal She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Bonnie Bourbina; and one nephew, Travis Bourbina.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband Ron of the home, and three children:

· Troy (Kelly) Goth, and their children Colton Adam-Goth, Kamber Musgrove, Katie Harrod, Joseph Picking, and Jackson Goth, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

· Jody Sare, and his children and grandchildren; Kaden (Tiffany), Dylan, Olivia, Caleb, Kelsey, and Mireya Sare.

· Christina (Patch Anguiano) Sare, and their children and grandchildren; Blake (Catalina), Emmett, Selena, Kameela, and Haylee Anguiano.

She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Bourbina Jr. and his wife Char.

Valerie had a love for life and a heart for family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, quilting, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by family—babysitting, sharing stories, and creating cherished memories. In recent years, she also enjoyed online shopping, especially on Amazon and Temu.

Valerie’s kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at a later date to be announced later.

John Robert Somers Sr.&nbsp; passed away on February 19, 2026 at his home In Minneapolis, Kansas, surrounded by the people he loved most.&nbsp;

John was born in Ottawa County Kansas and affectionately called "Johnnie".&nbsp; His parents were Robert and Ethel (Sinklier) Somers.&nbsp;&nbsp; In April 13, 1967, he married Marcia Kay Hood, and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2020.&nbsp;

John grew up in Ottawa County Kansas, later moving his family to Texas and Missouri before retiring back home to Ottawa County Kansas.&nbsp;

John was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; John deeply loved his church family and looked forward to visits from them in the last days of his life.&nbsp;&nbsp; John had an extraordinary love of God and expressed that in his last moments.&nbsp;

John worked several jobs throughout his life.&nbsp; Most notably as a long haul truck driver.&nbsp; John was a hard worker and great provider.&nbsp; He sacrificed time with his family to spend long hours on the road to support them.&nbsp;

John's proudest titles were that of "Dad" and "Bepa".&nbsp; He loved his children and adored his grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

John was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.&nbsp;&nbsp; The love of sports he passed to his children.&nbsp;

John was proceeded in death by his wife; his parents; brothers - Cecil, Tommy, Jerry, Jack; Sisters - June and Susie.; granddaughters Melanie and Angel Somers and grandson Kelly Masters.&nbsp;&nbsp; His loved and pampered dogs Duke and Duchess.&nbsp;

John Robert Somers Sr. 

James Neal Valcoure, 89, of Salina, passed away February 19, 2026.

He was born on May 17, 1936, in Aurora, Kansas, to Neal E. and Beatrice P. (Goyette) Valcoure. He married Clara Jane Stephenson on September 8, 1962, at St. Peter’s Church in Aurora. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1954 and attended Creighton University. Following college, he joined the Marines. After 2 years of service, he entered the workforce. He worked for Kriz Davis for more than 30 years and retired in 1995. He volunteered at the Catholic Diocese and was an avid booster of Sacred heart High school and Kansas Wesleyan.

Left to mourn his passing are his sons, Greg Valcoure (Tracy), and Mike Valcoure (Theresa); daughter Chelle Fleming (Dave); eight grandchildren; two step -grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great- step- grandchildren; brothers Bill Valcoure (Lisa), John Valcoure; sister Ruth Reynolds; sister-in-law Mary Beth, brother-in-law Bill Stephenson ( Gloria) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Valcoure, brother-in-law Duane Reynolds and sister-in-law Judy Valcoure.

Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary. Douglas W. Murphy, 66, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Doug was born on November 24, 1959, in Osborne to Doyle W. Murphy and Dixie Lee Murphy (Huntley). He graduated from Sylvan Unified High School and continued his education at North Central Kansas Vo-Tech, earning his degree as a diesel mechanic.

Doug began his career with General Motors in Kansas City. He later returned to north-central Kansas, where he worked for Heller Farms in Hunter. Over the years, he also took on various side jobs, earning a reputation as a skilled and dependable handyman. After moving to Russell, Kansas, Doug worked for Dwight Oil and Enterprise Oil Company. Eventually, after relocating to Salina, he held various positions before returning to one of his true passions—farming.

On July 23, 1982, Doug married Sherri Rippie and were blessed with four children: Derrick, Kristen, Kyle, and Jordan.

Doug had a deep love for the outdoors. In his youth he was an avid hunter and trapper and especially treasured his fishing and hunting trips to Canada with family and friends. He enjoyed anything fast on wheels, cruising country roads, spending time in the sunshine, commentating at his children’s ballgames, and working on tractors or equipment. Known for his friendly nature, Doug never met a stranger and was often the first person friends or neighbors would call when something needed fixing.

He was a member of the Hunter, Kansas 4-H Club in his youth and the Masonic Lodge of Sylvan Grove.

Doug is survived by his wife, Sherri Murphy of Salina; his children, Derrick (Lisa) Murphy of Salina, Kyle (Miranda) Murphy of Bennington, Kristen (Ryan) of Bennington, and Jordan (Wyatt) of Vesper; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who lovingly knew him as “Papa Doug”; his mother, Dixie Hupfer of Salina; his brother, Russell (Paula) of Beloit; his sisters, Renee Foster of Salina, Terri Hupfer of Isleton, California, and Teena Hupfer of Denver, Colorado; and a special aunt, Dina Faye Conn of Downs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Murphy; his stepfather, John Hupfer; his brother-in-law, Randy Foster; and his brother, Travis Murphy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Ryan’s Mortuary. A meal and time of sharing will follow at the family farm.

Dorothy Ann Brown, 93, Minneapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born August 28, 1932, in Minneapolis to Walter H. and Wavie (Wolf) Wesley.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Dorothy attended school in Ada. After graduation, she attended Brown Mackie College in Salina where she met Bill Brown who was stationed at Smoky Hill Air Force Base. Bill and Dorothy were united in marriage on April 4, 1954. They were married 62 years at the time of Bill’s death in 2016.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

They lived on the Wesley family farm northwest of Minneapolis where they raised their three children, Dwayne, Darrell, and Dorinda.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Dorothy lived for gardening and canning. She also loved cooking and baking. She was a lifetime member of the Bohemian Hall ZCBJ near Glasco. Dorothy was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #3201 in Minneapolis.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kurt was born June 17, 1964, in McPherson, KS, the son of Garron Dwight and Carlene Jo “Carly” (Harold) Finney.&nbsp; He graduated from Topeka West High School. In 1995, Kurt married Kristi Schmidt in McPherson.&nbsp; This union was blessed with four children, Kogan, Ashley, Allison, and Kyne.

Kurt was truly one of a kind — a jack of all trades with a fiercely independent spirit. He drove school bus routes for USD 400 and USD 418. Throughout his years, he enjoyed disc golf, both competitively and recreationally, taking home hardware in multiple tournaments.&nbsp; But the real love for the sport came from the camaraderie of playing with his friends and family. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in rock climbing, hunting, fishing, waterskiing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. The outdoors wasn’t just a pastime for him — it was a way of life.

Kurt was a homesteader at heart. From gardening and canning vegetables to raising and butchering his own meat, he believed in self-sufficiency. Years ago, he opened his farm to host large gatherings, welcoming friends and family. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs, and even the local wildlife knew they could count on him for a handout.

If there was something Kurt didn’t know how to do, he simply learned it. Armed with books and determination, there was no project he wouldn’t tackle himself. He enjoyed strategy games like craps and was known for speaking in riddles, often leaving his children to puzzle over his cryptic messages. Ornery by nature, he never hesitated to share his “words of wisdom.” Strong-willed and thoughtful, he stood firm in his beliefs and lived life on his own terms.

Kurt’s legacy is one of independence, curiosity, grit, and heart. He will be remembered for his stories, his stubborn streak, and the many lives he touched along the way.

He is survived by four children, Kogan Finney of McPherson, KS, Ashely Burch (Kordell) of Lindsborg, KS, Allison Finney of Grand Rivers, KY, and Kyne Finney of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Riata, Briar, Sampson, an

d Kaulder; one sister, Gara Anthony (Mike) of Kingwood, TX; and many extended relatives.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp;

Kurt G. Finney

Philip Earl Bowman, 77, died February 16, 2026, at his home of almost 50 years in Salina, Kansas. He was born December 17, 1948, in Great Bend, the son of George Henry and Isabel (Peters) Bowman.

Philip received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1971 and Master of Business Administration from KSU Salina in 1992. He worked in purchasing and sales, retiring from School Specialty in 2016. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Civitan International, earning Salina Civitan of the Year in 2006. His volunteering included service on the Salina Public Library Board, as a KWU Foundation Trustee, and with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.

Philip’s interests included science fiction, space, gardening, amateur radio, music, U.S. history, and reading about all of them and more.

Survivors include his only sister, Jane Ellen Johnson of Bella Vista, Arkansas; brother, Joseph M. Bowman of Pawnee Rock; former wife and close friend, Linda (Young) Bowman; son, Aaron Bowman and wife Deborah of Olathe; grandchildren, Ryan and fiancée Ashlyn of Lenexa; Emma and Sara of Olathe; Natalie, Andrew, and Jack of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is also survived by precious and enduring memories of son, John Bowman of Baton Rouge.

Philip cherished connections with many cousins, nieces, nephews, classmates, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 in the Trinity United Methodist Church Family Life Center,&nbsp;901 E. Patricia "Patty" Anne Martin (Todd), 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born August 29, 1947, in Abilene, Kansas, to Marion and Melba (Rassette) Todd, Patty graduated from Salina High School in 1965 and later attended Fort Hays State University. She was employed with Westinghouse, Fireside Inn, and Big John's before finding her career at B&amp;K Prescription Shop, where she retired after 33 years.

Patty was famous for her holiday cooking and loved camping, looking forward to the American Legion Camporama every year. In retirement, she and Chuck headed south for the winter each year to the Valley in Texas, where they met up with friends. She found joy in reading, bingo, and gardening—but her greatest loves were her family, her grandkids, her cooking, and her cat, Lucy.

She is survived by her partner, Chuck Reinhardt; her daughters, Monica of Salina and Amy of Kansas City; her grandchildren: Connor and Lindsey of Salina, Carson and Dustin of Salina, Ethan and Sabrina of New Jersey, and Alex and Katie of Kansas City; and her great-grandchildren: Jackson, Arlo, Sebastian, and Kohen. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Kersey of Salina, and her nieces, Misty and Alison. She is also survived by her bonus children, Rhea and Wendy, and their children: Autumn, Charliee, Genevieve, Morgan, Acacia, and BT. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Madalyn; and her bonus son, Ryan.

Samuel Edward Underwood II (Max)&nbsp;was born on September 20, 1950, in Hot Springs, AR, and went home to our Lord on February 15, 2026, at the age of 75 in Salina, KS.

Sam graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and was ordained as a pastor in 1975. He also worked in the restaurant industry and as a bookkeeper. He had a love for old cars, he loved to laugh, and he loved to spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Edward Underwood Sr. and Ester (Lois) Louise Underwood and siblings Michael Underwood, Edna Welbourne, and William Underwood.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Luann (McGie) Underwood, four children Christine Michelle (Aaron) Barstead, Benjamin Michael (Karyn) Underwood, Samuel Edward (Rebecca) Underwood III, and Michelle Louise Underwood, as well as 9 grandchildren Hannah (Chance) Underwood, Brady Underwood, Danielle (Matt) Barstead, Lucas (Leah) Underwood, Kenny Barstead, Ethan Underwood, Lawrence Underwood, Molli Dickey, &amp; Abigail-Rose Underwood and 3 great grandchildren Kaelynne Buttermore, Alaina Buttermore, and Violet Underwood. Samuel Edward Underwood II

Mildred Carol (Borecky) Hynes, formerly of rural Sylvan Grove, Kansas, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the Holiday Resort in Salina.

Mildred “Millie” was born on December 31, 1938, in a limestone house west of Black Wolf, Kansas, to second-generation Czech parents, John and Marie (Janda) Borecky. She was the fifth of six children in the Borecky family.

Millie attended South Excelsior School, a one-room schoolhouse, through the eighth grade, and later graduated with the Class of 1957 from Ellsworth High School.

She married Richard H. Hynes on April 25, 1961. They met at a polka dance at the old Ellsworth Armory, with the band of Harrison Moyer, who incidentally also played at their wedding a couple of years later. They were blessed with three daughters: Carmen, Linda, and Connie.

Millie was a farm wife until the passing of Richard in 1991, when she began working at Kansas Originals, where she worked for over 30 years. She was also a part-owner and worked at the Country Corner Store in Sylvan Grove prior to Richard’s death. She enjoyed visiting with customers, and seeing family come in was always a bonus. She also served as the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Safety Chairman for several years.

In her earlier years, she and Richard enjoyed dancing to polka music and listening to her husband play in The Harmony Four. She sewed many items for her daughters’ music programs and the clubs in which they participated. She was a 4-H leader and a member of Modern Mrs. EHU. Millie enjoyed playing Pinochle with her siblings, working on jigsaw puzzles, crafting, and—lest we not forget—her favorite pastime of reading. The only television shows she enjoyed were Lawrence Welk and Barbara Mandrell. Every Saturday evening, the TV was always tuned to Channel 2 at 7:00 p.m. for some champagne music.

She had a good sense of humor and a quick wit - always a wise crack. She could usually fix any problem with good common sense and an engineering mind. She often joked that she never needed a dishwasher because she had three daughters.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sylvan Grove, KS, since 1973, when she was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Millie served as a Sunday school teacher and Bible school teacher for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; her siblings, Vivian Kratzer, Libbie Sebesta, Lester Borecky, Viola Jiricek, Myrene Soukup, and her son-in-law, John Long.

Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters: Carmen (Jeff) Griffin, Linda (Denny) McClintock, and Connie Long; seven grandchildren: Travis, Jeremy, and Derek McClintock; Margy Clem, Sam Long, Bryce Griffin, Jordan Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 21, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church in Sylvan Grove. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service, with a luncheon to follow. Millie would have truly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with everyone.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family.

Mildred Carol Hynes

Rickie Lynn Griffith, born on June 17, 1959 in Concordia, Kansas to parents Richard and Loretta (Austin) Griffith, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026 after a journey with Frontal Temporal Dementia.

Rick lived in Culver most of his younger life and attended grade school at Culver, then completed High School education at Tescott Schools. He went to Salina Vo Tech for body work. Rick worked during high school and for a few years after on a farm near Lincoln, Kansas. He went to Minnesota for almost 2 years, working in cabinetry and construction. Then he came back to Culver and worked at Culver Elevator, when he met his wife, Sandy Sears (Barnum). He was married to Sandy in 1986. He then moved to be with her in McPherson and took a job at Lacy-Regehr Ford Motors in McPherson in the Parts Department. He was there until they moved to Salina in 2006 and then worked for Roberts Trucking and then with Sunflower Bank, where he was employed for 16+ years.

He always loved being involved in all family gatherings and activities, attending many soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc games. He was an excellent cook. And he always enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. In September of 2024, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and spent the remainder of his days in Minneapolis Nursing Home. He committed his life to the Lord and was baptized in November of 2025.

He is preceded in death by his 1st born son, Robert Lee Griffith, born into Heaven on October 3, 1988 and his father Richard "Dick" Griffith on January 18, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Griffith; son, Zach Griffith (Melanie) of Manhattan, Kansas; step-sons, CJ Sears (Nicole) of Shawnee, Kansas, Travis Sears (Katie) of McPherson, Kansas; proud Grampie of 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Jentry, Carter, Ava, Vivian, Jaykin, Jaxton, Gabe, Hudson, Brody, and Taryn; mother, Loretta Griffith of Concordia; sister, Glennis Hughes (Neal); brothers, James Griffith (Sherry) of Delphos, George Griffith (Denese) of Salina; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

 </figure>Rickie Lynn Griffith, born on June 17, 1959 in Concordia, Kansas to parents Richard and Loretta (Austin) Griffith, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026 after a journey with Frontal Temporal Dementia.Rick lived in Culver most of his younger life and attended grade school at Culver, then completed High School education at Tescott Schools. He went to Salina Vo Tech for body work. Rick worked during high school and for a few years after on a farm near Lincoln, Kansas. He went to Minnesota for almost 2 years, working in cabinetry and construction. Then he came back to Culver and worked at Culver Elevator, when he met his wife, Sandy Sears (Barnum). He was married to Sandy in 1986. He then moved to be with her in McPherson and took a job at Lacy-Regehr Ford Motors in McPherson in the Parts Department. He was there until they moved to Salina in 2006 and then worked for Roberts Trucking and then with Sunflower Bank, where he was employed for 16+ years.He always loved being involved in all family gatherings and activities, attending many soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc games. He was an excellent cook. And he always enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. In September of 2024, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and spent the remainder of his days in Minneapolis Nursing Home. Rickie Lynn Griffith

Judy Ann Richards was received in Heaven on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at her residence in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 83. Judy was born on July 24, 1942, in New Cambria, Kansas, to Glen Christian (Jake) Nelson and Esther Helen (Seim) Nelson. Judy developed a strong work ethic in her youth by growing up and working on her family farm. A Solomon High School graduate, she was a cheerleader, FFA Queen, sale barn café waitress, and bank teller before leaving the Salina area. &nbsp;She married Thomas Edwin Richards on July 21, 1962, in Salina, Kansas and moved to Newton, Kansas. &nbsp;During her marriage she spent many hours supporting Tom’s love of sports, watching him develop from high school and college sports, and later as a Division I college referee. &nbsp;This provided a lifelong enjoyment of watching sports and traveling with her son to multiple sporting events. Judy worked a long career in banking both in Kansas and Texas. &nbsp;Judy was an active member at Trinity Heights Methodist church in Newton and raised her children in faith.&nbsp;

In 2001, she moved to McKinney, Texas to be closer to her grandchildren and assumed what would be her most fulfilling role in life as MiMi. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Judy had a giving heart, a caring soul and was known to put others’ feelings first in front of her own. She loved her family and was dedicated to raising her two children and grandchildren. &nbsp; She will be missed deeply by her family.

Judy is survived by son, Kenton Richards (Karen) of Baldwin City, Kansas; daughter, Jennifer Smith of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren: Amanda Mason (Jimmy), of Coweta, Oklahoma, Hannah Smith of McKinney, Texas, Wyatt Parmley (Hanna) of Belton, Missouri, and Betsy Taylor (Kaavn) of Guthrie, Oklahoma; great granddaughter, Ava Capps of McKinney, Texas; sister, Nancy Fischer of Salina, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, and co-Grandma Sharon White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Esther Nelson; husband Thomas (Tommy) Richards; infant son, Kirk Allen; infant daughter, Cari Ann; and grandson, Joshua Smith.&nbsp;

Family will be receiving relatives and friends for a celebration of life at Judy’s home in McKinney, Texas, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Salina, Kansas, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026.&nbsp;

A memorial will be established at Solomon High School, in care of Heier Scott Mortuary and Cremations, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.
