Darline Delores Hill, age 87, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025. &nbsp;She was born January 6, 1938, to Lloyd and Alice "Pat" (Winsel) Campbell in Beloit, Kansas.

Darline attended Abilene High School and later Northeastern Oklahoma State University. &nbsp;Darline was a loving mother that raised six children. &nbsp;She led an interesting life with many career explorations. &nbsp;She was co-owner of an independent welding company, a bail bondsman and recovery agent, Wedding cake decorator and Phillips Lighting Warehouse worker. &nbsp;After retiring from Hawker/Beechcraft she enjoyed spending as much time as possible in her RV at Kanopolis Lake. &nbsp;She was a very creative person and loved crafting, jewelry making and cake decorating.

Darline is survived by her six children, Debra (Rick) Weber, Terry (Nicki) Shry, Becky (Anthony) Chaffin, Jeanna (George) Plante, Bill Graves and Lonnie (Karen) Graves, 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grand daughter and one great grandson.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Sunday, November 9, 1:30 p.m., at the Abilene City Cemetery with a celebration of life immediately afterward at the Abilene Senior Center.

Darline Delores Hill

Anita Jolene (Owens) Beckman passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2025, at the Salina Regional Health Center. She was born on February 1, 1953, in Quinter, Kansas, to Ralph and Sarah (Gross) Owens. Anita’s family moved to Scott City, then to Quinter, and eventually settled in Hoxie, Kansas, in the early 1970s. She graduated from Hoxie High School with the Class of 1971. During high school and after graduation, she worked at Getz IGA.

In 1971, Anita married Wes, and they were blessed with one son, Travis. The couple later divorced.

On August 20, 1977, Anita married Stuart Beckman, and together they recently celebrated 48 years of marriage. Anita and Stuart were blessed with two more sons, Brandon and Brent, and raised their three boys on the family farm, where they lived until their recent move to Hoxie.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Anita worked hard alongside her husband on the farm—driving grain carts, raising bottle calves, and caring for the animals she loved, especially her horses. She was a wonderful cook known for her delicious sandwiches, chili, and especially her famous meatloaf. Above all, Anita loved her family deeply and was always there to support them.

Anita also shared her talents as a coach for golf and volleyball in the Hoxie school system. She was an avid and skilled golfer, a member of the Hoxie Golf Club, and served on its board.

A faithful member of Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Seguin, Kansas, Anita served her parish as an organist and a member of St. Ann’s Sodality. She lived her faith with quiet strength and unwavering devotion, serving her Lord in every way she could.

Anita was a kind and gentle soul. Though she faced years of health challenges, she always greeted others with a warm smile and made everyone feel valued and loved. Her courage, positivity, and grace through adversity were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her smile, kindness, and caring heart will forever remain in the hearts and memories of those she touched.

Anita is survived by her loving husband, Stuart Beckman of Hoxie, KS; son Travis Spillman (Malaina) of Show Low, Arizona; sons Brandon Beckman (Tisha) and Brent Beckman of Rexford, Kansas; sisters Carol Mick and Audrey Moss (Rick) of Hoxie, Kansas; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Owens and Sarah (Gross) Senne, and her brother, Lonnie Owens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Seguin, Kansas. The service will be live streamed. Burial will follow in St. Martin’s Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A Vigil and Rosary Service will follow at 7:00 P.M.

Memorials are suggested to the Sheridan County Benefit Walk or for Masses, and may be sent in care of Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, P.O. Box 987, Hoxie, Kansas 67740.

Anita Jolene (Owens) Beckman

David Milton Smith, 77, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center.

Dave was born February 7, 1948, in Denver, CO, the son of Albert Milton and Ila Rae “Pat” (Vernon) Smith. Dave attended Alameda High School in Lakewood, CO, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 during the Vietnam War.

On November 21, 1969, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Fisher. Together they shared 55 years of love, laughter, and partnership.

Dave began his career with Union Pacific Railroad in 1970, serving as an engineer and train master until his retirement in 2008. Following retirement, he continued to serve his community as the dedicated lounge manager for V.F.W. Post #2715, where he was a life member.

He was known for his steadfast work ethic, quick wit, and the enjoyment he found in spending winters in Texas among friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara of the home; a son, James “Jimmy” Smith of McPherson, KS; a sister, Pauline Bradbury of Surprise, AZ; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack and Larry Smith.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at a later date at V.F.W. Post #2715.

David Milton Smith

Travis Gary Meads, 37, of McPherson, KS, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

He was born on May 18, 1988, in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of Kevin K. and Linda L. (Baumann) Meads. Travis graduated from Prairie View High School in LaCygne, Kansas.

He worked as a tow truck driver for Dacus Auto Body and was employed as a welder and truck driver for Wabtec.

Travis had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time riding his ATV, camping, and snowboardng. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed playing baseball and football, and shared a special bond with his dogs.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Linda Meads of Humble, TX; his brother, Kevin Trenton Meads of Humble, TX; loving aunts, uncles, cousins &amp; extended relatives; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Bonnie Meads and Donald and Myrna Baumann, and by an uncle, Russel Baumann.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Freedom Chapel, 1064 14th Avenue, McPherson, KS, with Pastor Rustan Foster officiating.

Jane Ellis Colwell, 92, of Hutchinson, KS and formerly of Leawood, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson.

She was born on September 28, 1933, in Concordia, Missouri, to Curt and Vera Ellis.

Jane graduated from Leavenworth High and went on to earn both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Kansas. She dedicated 30 years to teaching all at Raytown Junior High School.

On June 3, 1958, Jane was united in marriage to Gerald Colwell at Brenner Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. The couple spent most of their married life in Johnson County, Kansas.&nbsp; Jane and Gerald shared 67 years of marriage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jane and Gerald shared a love for travel and the Kansas Jayhawks, taking memorable trips to many final fours, bowl games and the Maui Invitational Tournament in Maui, Hawaii.&nbsp; Jane also enjoyed reading, putting together puzzles and playing cards. She was a member and Past President of P.E.O. Chapter IY in Raytown, MO.

Jane is survived by her husband, Gerald Colwell, her niece-in-law, Angela (Chris) Hoffhines and two great nieces-in-law, Leah (Boone) Heston and Emily (Cody) Gentry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Vera Ellis and brother-in-law, Park Colwell.

Michael "Mike" Porter, 82, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2025, in Salina, Kansas. 

A lifelong resident of Salina, Mike was born on April 26, 1943, in Hays, KS, the son of Jerry and Margaret (Dillon) Porter.

Mike graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Throughout his working years, Mike held many varied jobs, but was a true salesman at heart. Mike spent many years selling cars before continuing his professional journey at Blue Beacon.

Mike married the former Melva Ann Prather, on Feb. 6, 1965, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina. They shared 61 devoted years of marriage together. Together they raised two children: Mark (Jennifer) Porter and Michelle (Dave) Cooper. Mike took immense pride in his family and found great joy in watching it grow. He was a loving grandfather to Madison (Max) Pattillo, Kayson (Bradley) Durrett, Seth (Emme') Porter, Shane Porter, Jacob Cooper, and Rylie Cooper. His legacy continues through his great-granddaughter Reese Pattillo. Mike is survived by his brothers Doug (Mary) Porter, Danny (Dianna) Porter, and his sister Joanie (Dennis) Base and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Tom (Marilyn) Porter.

In his healthier years, Mike embraced the outdoors and cherished time spent hunting, fishing, golfing, and relaxing at the lake. Above all else, his favorite moments were those spent with his grandchildren—sharing stories, laughter, and love that will be remembered for generations.

Mike will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, and the love and devotion he shared with his family. Mike’s life was marked by dedication to family and a deep appreciation for simple pleasures. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud., Salina. There is a visitation Sunday Nov. 9th at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, from 4-8 pm. 

The family will receive friends after 6 pm with a Vigil/Rosary starting at 7 pm that evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in care of the Ryan Mortuary.

The family is very grateful to his nurses and caregivers at Interim Hospice for all of the love and support with his care.

A lifelong resident of Salina, Mike was born on April 26, 1943, in Hays, KS, the son of Jerry and Margaret (Dillon) Porter.Mike graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Throughout his working years, Mike held many varied jobs, but was a true salesman at heart. Mike spent many years selling cars before continuing his professional journey at Blue Beacon.Mike married the former Melva Ann Prather, on Feb. 6, 1965, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Salina. They shared 61 devoted years of marriage together. Together they raised two children: Mark (Jennifer) Porter and Michelle (Dave) Cooper. Mike took immense pride in his family and found great joy in watching it grow. He was a loving grandfather to Madison (Max) Pattillo, Kayson (Bradley) Durrett, Seth (Emme') Porter, Shane Porter, Jacob Cooper, and Rylie Cooper. His legacy continues through his great-granddaughter Reese Pattillo. Mike is survived by his brothers Doug (Mary) Porter, Danny (Dianna) Porter, and his sister Joanie (Dennis) Base and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Tom (Marilyn) Porter.In his healthier years, Mike embraced the outdoors and cherished time spent hunting, fishing, golfing, and relaxing at the lake. Above all else, his favorite moments were those spent with his grandchildren—sharing stories, laughter, and love that will be remembered for generations.Mike will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, and the love and devotion he shared with his family. Mike’s life was marked by dedication to family and a deep appreciation for simple pleasures. Anita L. (Bessette) Budreau, age 88, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;Anita was born on October 21, 1937, in Concordia, Kansas to William and Lillie (Beauregard) Bessette.&nbsp;

She was a 1955 graduate of Concordia Catholic High. On May 25, 1959, she married Ronald “Tiny” L. Budreau at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;He preceded her in death on May 24, 2017.&nbsp;&nbsp;To this union 4 children were born, Cindy, Danny, Tina, and Brenda.&nbsp;

Anita retired from Radiology Consultants and later worked for USD 333 in the school cafeteria where she loved greeting all the kids.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;She later attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Clay Center.&nbsp;

Her hobbies included: cross stitching quilts for her kids grandkids and great-grandkids.&nbsp; She was an incredible canner and loved canning all the vegetables that Ron grew and later canning jelly with her grandkids.&nbsp; When visiting her son and grandkids in Iowa catching the biggest bass was something she always bragged about.&nbsp; She loved spending time with family and attending all her families different sporting events. She never missed a game, rain or shine and would often travel with family to out of town games. Her greatest joy in life was being with her kids and grandkids.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survived by her 4 children, daughter, Cindy Barrett, Scandia, KS.; son, Danny Budreau (Julie), Cedar Falls, IA.; daughter, Tina Torgler, Wichita, KS.; daughter, Brenda Siebold (Randy), Clay Center, KS.; sister-in-law, Emma Budreau, Jamestown, KS.; brother, Jerry Bessette, Topeka, KS., 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 new great-grandchildren to arrive this year.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Michael Floyd Asbridge, 61, of Salina, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center. Mike was born on November 1, 1963, in Salina to Connie J. (Aills) and Gerald S. “Jake” Asbridge Sr.

Mike worked for Loux Home Improvement which was owned by his grandmother LeeElla Esse and Arthur J Loux during his teenage years. Then he worked for Ballou Construction, Salina, Midwest Siding, Salina, Don Keeler Construction, Salina, and Tony Pizza, Salina. As with his siblings, Mike also worked for LA Hacienda, Salina. Mike was a jack of all trades and would help anyone with a job that needed done.

Having met the love of his life in 1994, eight years later in 2002, he married his love, Candace Charles. During their 31-year love-relationship, Mike and Candy by a daughter, Stephanie M. Asbridge; son, Michael Asbridge, all the home; survived by a daughter, prior to his marriage, Felicia Horting (Devon) and grandson, Forest Horrting, all of Salina; his mother, Connie J. (Aills) Asbridge Wilson, of Salina; step-mother, Janis Poskey, of Washington, IL; grandmother, Betty Aills, of Salina. Mike also had a great love for his siblings, Douglas S. Asbridge, of Salina, LeeElla (James) Vittoe, Laura L. Asbridge, all of Salina, and Jera Lynn (Tegan) McCullough, of Washington, IL, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of many friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Jerry “Jake” Asbridge Sr.; grandparents LeeElla Esse, Alvin and Winnifred Burch, Lester Aills, and Ray Asbridge; brother, Allen “Blaine” Reed Asbridge; brother, Jerry S. Asbridge; and sister, Winifred K. Hall.

Mike is a member of Ray Ave Baptist Church, of Salina, which was started by his uncle Dr. Bob Aills who also precedes him in death.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday October 31, at Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Ray Ave Baptist Church, with his brother Douglas S. Asbridge officiating, along with Pastor John Day.

Margaret was a graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She married Elden Bergstrom, on June 3, 1956, at The Baptist Church, Concordia.&nbsp;&nbsp;He preceded her in death on May 27, 2018.&nbsp;&nbsp;To this union three children were born, Larry, Terry and Kevin.

She enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling, attending craft shows, and was an avid KSU sports fan where she was a season ticket holder for over 30 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;Margaret most of all loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret was a cook for many years in the Courtland school system.&nbsp;&nbsp;She went on to work and retire from the Jamestown State Bank in Jamestown where she was a Teller.

She is survived by her two sons, Terry Bergstrom, Courtland, Kevin Bergstrom (Heather), Wamego; her grandchildren, Erik Bergstrom, Dea Bergstrom Novak (Mark), Danielle Haskett, Brett Bergstrom, Cade Bergstrom &amp; Carli Bergstrom; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gloria Bergstrom, sister-in-law, Della Hefner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Bergstrom, parents, John and Alice Hefner, son, Larry Bergstom, grandson-in-law, Lancyio Haskett, brother, William “Bud” Hefner, sister, Mary E. Smith (Glenn).

Gabriel Zachary Wilson, 53, of Bennington, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Gabe was the beloved son of Rebecca (Ehrsam) and Steve Wilson. He graduated from Solomon High School and went on to become a dedicated grocery store owner, serving his community with warmth and reliability for many years.

Gabe was a passionate fan of Kansas State University athletics and the Dallas Cowboys, often spending weekends cheering on his teams. His love for music was a defining part of his life, and he cherished attending concerts with his children, creating lasting memories through shared experiences and favorite songs. He also loved being a part of his children's athletics, coaching and cheering them on throughout school.He is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Wilson; son, Kian Wilson; sister, Kassie Hinson; brother, Jason Holt (Emily); and his parents, Rebecca and Steve. Gabe was preceded in death by his father, Gary Gilbert; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial gathering to honor Gabe’s life will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, Kansas.

Charles Eugene Leister, 93, passed away October 26, 2025. He was born April 8, 1932, in Salina, Kansas to Glenn H. and Clara Haupt Leister. He was raised on the farm at Kipp, KS, and graduated from Kipp High School in 1950. Charles married Marlene Cassel in August, 1952.

He then served in the U.S. Army in Korea, where he was wounded in combat. He returned home to farm at Kipp for 60 years and he established a business doing carpentry. He also worked for Elmore (Garden Home Inc.) for 22 years.

Charles was on the Kipp School Board, the rural water district #2 board, a member of the Moose Lodge, and Elks Lodge. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1432, where he served as a Commander.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Clara, his parents Glenn and Verna Leister; wife of 72 years, Marlene; grandson Shawn Teagarden; son-inlaw Joe Teagarden; brother Gayle Leister, and sisters Clarice Davis and Mary Johnson.

He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Teagarden of LaCygne, KS, Michelle Keeler and husband Pat of Salina, KS, and Lisa Leister-Hughes of Kimball, Ml; grandchildren Scott (Saylee) Teagarden, Ryan Keeler, Ashley (Dustin) Delehanty, Clara (Eric) Alexander, and Charles Hughes. He also had eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

In honor of his wishes, there will be a private family service.&nbsp;

Charles Eugene Leister

Virginia Eileen Reed, daughter of Lloyd H. Reed and Bernice Russell Reed was born February 13, 1920, at a farm home near Webber, KS. She passed away October 24, 2025 at Sunset Home, Concordia, KS at the age of 105. She attended elementary school at the one room Rosehill School. She graduated from Webber High School with the class of 1938. She graduated from the Hutchinson School of Business in 1939.

On September 7 1941 she was united in marriage to Wayne R. Wilson. Soon after marrying, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy. They were assigned to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fl. After WWII they moved to Newton, KS for a short time. They then moved to Mankato, KS where they raised their three children. Eileen worked for the Darrell Miller law firm in Mankato. She was elected as Jewell County Clerk and held several county positions including Sheriff.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, their daughter Linda Matheny, granddaughter Amanda Wilson, and brothers Russell and Darrell Reed. Eileen is survived by daughter Sandra and husband Steve Britt of Carrabelle, FL, son Edwin Wilson of Concordia, KS, Granddaughter Allison Gonzalez, Grandson Ethan Wilson of Concordia, Great granddaughter Brooklynn Velez and Grandson Zachery Campbell. She is also survived by Sister Joan D. Ross of Omaha, NE and brother-in-law the Rev. Don Wilson. She will be missed by a plethora of nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends.

Eileen’s earliest memories were attending church at Ruban’s one room schoolhouse joined by neighbors and family. The services and hymns shared there gave her considerable comfort and joy throughout her life. Eileen was active in the Mankato United Methodist Church where she participated in church functions. She was also active in community affairs; she helped to deliver Meals for the Aged well into her 90’s. Eileen was a member of the Superior Women’s Auxiliary; she and Wayne were also active in the Webber Methodist Church. Eileen and Wayne were very instrumental in the annual Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Webber cemetery. Her passionate work at the Jewell County Senior Center earned her Volunteer of the Year for Jewell County.

Visitation will be Friday October 31, 2025 from 9:00am – 10:00am at Nutter Mortuary, Concordia, KS.

Funeral Services will be Friday October 31, 2025 at 10:00am at Nutter Mortuary with Pastor Al Paredes officiating.

The Burial will follow the service at Webber Cemetery, Webber, KS.

Virginia Eileen Reed

Dennis Lowell Burt, age 75, entered into rest on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home in Belleville, Kansas. He was born on June 25, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas to Raymond and Berniece (Lewis) Burt.

Dennis grew up in the Norway community attending grade school in Norway.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a 1968 graduate of Concordia High School. Dennis graduated from Cloud County Community College, Concordia, KS, Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Manhattan, KS and received his Master's in Business Administration Degree from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO.

Dennis served in the United States Army and Navy.&nbsp;&nbsp;He served from July 1973 through September 1993.&nbsp;&nbsp;He graduated from Naval Flight School, Army Air Borne School, Army Sniper School, Army Special Forces, Army Rangers School, and Navy Supply Corps School.&nbsp;&nbsp;During his service he received Silver Stars (3), Bronze Stars (4) a Purple Heart, Navy Commendation Medals, National Defense Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, Iraq Service Medal, Kuwait Service Medal, Expert Rifle Medal, Expert Pistol Medal, Expert Hand Grenade Medal and Naval Reserve Medal.&nbsp;&nbsp;He retired from military service with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Dennis was a farmer and cattleman in the local community for many years. His favorite hobby was taking care of his Black Charolais Cattle.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of and helped contribute to, local 4-H, FFA, Kids Wrestling, ROTC, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Wounded Warrior Project, and The Golden Bell Senior Citizens Center.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Berniece Burt, brothers, Kevin Burt, Daryl Burt, and his sister, Donna Sue Hodgins.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Rosemary Burt, three sons, Chad Burt (Camille), Brent Burt (Teri), and Heath Burt, his brother, Marlin Burt (Genevieve), sister-in-law Kathy Burt (Daryl), and brother-in-law John Hodgins (Donna Sue) and nine grandchildren, Ashlyn, Bethany, Paxton, Chase, Caden, Braxton, Bristol Burt, Hudson and Maddox Briggs.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 1-8 pm with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.

Dennis Lowell Burt

Samuel Ray Owens passed away on October 24, 2025 at his home in Salina, KS. He was born, along with his twin sister, Sally, on June 26, 1953 in Independence, KS to Jack and Lorna (Koehling) Owens. &nbsp;In the early 60’s, Jack moved their young family to Chapman and ran the local grocery store. &nbsp;Sam spent his younger years working at the store until he graduated from Chapman High School in 1971. &nbsp;He married Debra (Zumbrunn) Owens on June 23, 1979 and they had three children: Justin, Kyle, and Samantha. &nbsp;After raising a family in Chapman, Sam relocated to Salina where he later met and married Kimberlee (Brown) Owens on May 23, 2015.&nbsp;

He spent time coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams, while also teaching them how to play other sports and developed their love for the game of golf. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering for the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals. When he wasn’t busy with sports you would find him outdoors hunting and fishing. &nbsp;He enjoyed seeing his family, especially to celebrate the 4th of July.

Sam never knew a stranger. &nbsp;This translated well into his career as a sales representative; most of his working years were spent with the trucking line of USF Dugan in Salina. &nbsp;In public, it was a common occurrence for him to strike up conversation with individuals whether it was an old acquaintance or just someone willing to talk in order to pass the time.

He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and was always eager to boast of their successes. &nbsp;He made it clear that he wanted his children to enjoy a better life than his and worked hard to make that happen.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lorna Owens of Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Kimberlee of the home, sons Justin Owens (Jessica), Kyle Owens (Rachel), daughter Samantha Orr (Tim), father Jack Owens, brother Dennis Owens (Kathy), and sisters Sally Sowell and Lori Gilmore (Jay). He also leaves behind 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 8th located at Rosie’s On Iron, 125 E Iron Ave. Salina, KS. &nbsp;We are planning a fun casual come and go event between 4-8pm. &nbsp;We will have heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks. &nbsp;We look forward to friends and family joining us in celebrating the life of Sam Owens.

Samuel Ray Owens

Thomas Michael Billings was born on December 31, 1939, at a hospital in Spearville, Kansas. His mother, Lillian Horning Billings, had worked at the hospital for a week prior, anticipating his arrival and worried that a storm might prevent her from getting to the hospital from their home on the farm. Waiting to greet them at home were his father, Wayne Gordon Billings, and his siblings, Phyllis and Bill.

Growing up on a farm outside of Jetmore, KS, Tom learned the value of hard work from an early age. His days were filled with chores, school, horseback riding, and church activities. He graduated from high school in a class of 19 students, where he played football and basketball. At the age of 12, Tom was baptized at their home church, the United Presbyterian Church in Jetmore, KS.&nbsp; During his youth, two missionary doctors spoke at his church, making a significant impression on Tom. Though he initially trained in agriculture during high school, Tom decided he was called to be a missionary doctor, leaving the farm to study science at Sterling College.&nbsp;

Tom met Nancy McCreery during his senior year at Sterling. A year after Tom graduated in 1962, Tom and Nancy married on August 2, 1963. Nancy supported them by teaching fourth grade for three years while Tom completed medical school, graduating in 1966. On October 23 of that same year, their first son, Brian Michael, was born, as Tom finished his residency at General Hospital in Kansas City.

The family moved to the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe’s headquarters in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Tom worked as a physician there with the Public Health Service for two years. Tom and Nancy’s second son, David Allen was born on December 31, 1968, in Eagle Butte.

From his early teens, Tom felt led to serve as a medical missionary in Africa. He and Nancy applied to the Evangelical Covenant Church for mission service and were approved for a two-year term as short-term missionaries in Congo. Tom's role was to work at Karawa Hospital while two career missionaries were on furlough. Despite having no prior language training, Tom thrived in his medical work, learning Lingala and fixing a broken X-ray machine at the hospital despite limited medical supplies.

While in Congo, Tom wrote letters home seeking a position for a family practice physician, eventually choosing McPherson, Kansas. Over the next 54 years in McPherson, Tom remained busy as a physician, a family man, and a generous financial giver to international missions in Africa, and around the world.

Their third son, John Todd, was born on June 9, 1973. Tom was a devoted father, often reading to his boys from books like C.S. Lewis's&nbsp;The Chronicles of Narnia&nbsp;and&nbsp;Space Trilogy, and J.R.R. Tolkien’s&nbsp;The Hobbit.

While living in McPherson, Tom continued to participate in short-term missions as a physician, including trips to Ecuador, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. A man of deep faith, Tom loved studying the Bible, focusing particularly on Genesis, Hebrews, and Revelation. He often taught Sunday school, served as an elder in his church, and expressed his beliefs through letters to the editor. He authored a book titled&nbsp;Reality Living&nbsp;and created several pamphlets for his office to help his patients make wise decisions in our complicated world.&nbsp;

Tom also valued physical fitness, participating in basketball, golf, swimming, and running in over 30 marathons. A highlight of his running career was qualifying for the Boston Marathon, where he proudly wore a shirt proclaiming "Jesus is Lord" on the front and "His Word is Truth" on the back.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Billings of McPherson; three children, Brian (Sheila) Billings of McPherson; David (Esther) Billings of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Todd (Rachel) Billings of Holland, Michigan; six grandchildren, Catherine Billings, Naomi Billings, Anastasia Billings, Xavier Billings, Netsanet Billings, and Nathaniel Billings; sister, Phyllis Olsen; Nancy’s niece and cherished friend of Tom and Nancy, Lisa (Mark) Sylvester, and her daughters Elizabeth (AJ) Hawkins, Rebecca (JD) Dalk, and Sara (Dennis) Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lillian Billings, and his brother, William (Bill) G. Billings.&nbsp;

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at New Hope Evangelical Church with Pastor George Bocox officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow the service at McPherson Cemetery.

 </figure>Thomas Michael Billings was born on December 31, 1939, at a hospital in Spearville, Kansas. His mother, Lillian Horning Billings, had worked at the hospital for a week prior, anticipating his arrival and worried that a storm might prevent her from getting to the hospital from their home on the farm. Waiting to greet them at home were his father, Wayne Gordon Billings, and his siblings, Phyllis and Bill.Growing up on a farm outside of Jetmore, KS, Tom learned the value of hard work from an early age. His days were filled with chores, school, horseback riding, and church activities. He graduated from high school in a class of 19 students, where he played football and basketball. At the age of 12, Tom was baptized at their home church, the United Presbyterian Church in Jetmore, KS.&nbsp; During his youth, two missionary doctors spoke at his church, making a significant impression on Tom. Though he initially trained in agriculture during high school, Tom decided he was called to be a missionary doctor, leaving the farm to study science at Sterling College.&nbsp;Tom met Nancy McCreery during his senior year at Sterling. A year after Tom graduated in 1962, Tom and Nancy married on August 2, 1963. Nancy supported them by teaching fourth grade for three years while Tom completed medical school, graduating in 1966. On October 23 of that same year, their first son, Brian Michael, was born, as Tom finished his residency at General Hospital in Kansas City.The family moved to the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe’s headquarters in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Tom worked as a physician there with the Public Health Service for two years. Tom and Nancy’s second son, David Allen was born on December 31, 1968, in Eagle Butte.From his early teens, Tom felt led to serve as a medical missionary in Africa. He and Nancy applied to the Evangelical Covenant Church for mission service and were approved for a two-year term as short-term missionaries in Congo. Tom's role was to work at Karawa Hospital while two career missionaries were on furlough. Despite having no prior language training, Tom thrived in his medical work, learning Lingala and fixing a broken X-ray machine at the hospital despite limited medical supplies.While in Congo, Tom wrote letters home seeking a position for a family practice physician, eventually choosing McPherson, Kansas. Over the next 54 years in McPherson, Tom remained busy as a physician, a family man, and a generous financial giver to international missions in Africa, and around the world.Their third son, John Todd, was born on June 9, 1973. Tom was a devoted father, often reading to his boys from books like C.S. Lewis's&nbsp;The Chronicles of Narnia&nbsp;and&nbsp;Space Trilogy, and J.R.R. Tolkien’s&nbsp;The Hobbit.While living in McPherson, Tom continued to participate in short-term missions as a physician, including trips to Ecuador, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. A man of deep faith, Tom loved studying the Bible, focusing particularly on Genesis, Hebrews, and Revelation. He often taught Sunday school, served as an elder in his church, and expressed his beliefs through letters to the editor. He authored a book titled&nbsp;Reality Living&nbsp;and created several pamphlets for his office to help his patients make wise decisions in our complicated world.&nbsp;Tom also valued physical fitness, participating in basketball, golf, swimming, and running in over 30 marathons. A highlight of his running career was qualifying for the Boston Marathon, where he proudly wore a shirt proclaiming "Jesus is Lord" on the front and "His Word is Truth" on the back.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Billings of McPherson; three children, Brian (Sheila) Billings of McPherson; David (Esther) Billings of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Todd (Rachel) Billings of Holland, Michigan; six grandchildren, Catherine Billings, Naomi Billings, Anastasia Billings, Xavier Billings, Netsanet Billings, and Nathaniel Billings; sister, Phyllis Olsen; Nancy’s niece and cherished friend of Tom and Nancy, Lisa (Mark) Sylvester, and her daughters Elizabeth (AJ) Hawkins, Rebecca (JD) Dalk, and Sara (Dennis) Frank.He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lillian Billings, and his brother, William (Bill) G. Billings.&nbsp;The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at New Hope Evangelical Church with Pastor George Bocox officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Thomas Michael Billings

Elouise Patricia (Neill) Edwards was born on July 13, 1937, in Salina, Kansas, to the parents of Harvey and Alice (Vandruff) Neill.&nbsp; Elouise enjoyed the outdoors while fishing, camping, and later in life, became an avid golfer.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was able to attend a golf tournament to watch Tiger Woods play.&nbsp;&nbsp;Her interests also included playing bridge, spending the winters in Texas, and socializing with her friends.

Elouise married Jack Edwards on November 8, 1968, in Pampa, Texas.&nbsp; They settled in McPherson, Kansas where she lived for 53 years until moving into Pine Village in Moundridge Kansas. Her marriage with Jack included her four children; Pamela, Angelina, Lynette, and Jeff.&nbsp; The youngest was to lose his life in a tragic car accident, which deeply affected the entire family. Jeff had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, which made saying goodbye to Jeff a little easier.

In addition to her outdoor activities, Elouise’s years in McPherson were filled with raising a family, spending time with friends, and was joint owner of Edwards Backhoe Service and Edwards Oil Properties.&nbsp; Elouise was a very important part of making those businesses successful.

She also had a knack for interior decorating, which was very evident in all her homes.&nbsp; In her life, she was always willing to help people with their decorating questions or needs.&nbsp; Her ability to look at decorating issues and see multiple solutions was a great attribute.&nbsp;

In her younger days, Elouise sang hymns for church services and weddings.&nbsp; Now, all the hymns she sang as a vocalist have become a reality to her. There must have been a great rejoicing when Jeff, Jack, and Elouise met in heaven.

Elouise passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Pine Village, Moundridge, at the age of 88.

Survivors include: three daughters, Pamela Wilson (Roy) of Fulton, IL, Angelina Bonham (Vernon) of McPherson, KS, and Lynette Reagan of McPherson, KS; a brother, Tom Neill&nbsp; (Phyllis) of Wichita, KS; and a sister, Joyce Tauscher of Hays, KS; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bonham, Amanda Wilson, Rachel (Bonham) Anderson, Jeff Wilson, Nathan Reagan, Emily (Reagan) Speirs, and Josh Wilson; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Edwards; a son, Jeffery Holtzclaw; and one brother, Lorne Neill.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the McPherson Cemetery.

Deborah Searcy, 73, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025. 

Born on July 18, 1952, in Junction City, Kansas, she was the beloved daughter of Charles and Mary (Barrett) Brown.&nbsp;Deborah spent much of her career as a Unit Secretary at Salina Regional Health Center, where she was known for her dedication and steady presence. In retirement, she found joy in spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren grow, and collecting snowmen—small things that brought her quiet happiness.&nbsp;

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Thomas Searcy, with whom she just celebrated 54 years of marriage. She also leaves behind two children: Jake Searcy of Salina, Kansas, and Blair (Jason) Cox of Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp;Deborah was a proud grandmother to Wesley, Addison, Ryann, Kennadi, and Aislinn. She is survived by several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.&nbsp;Deborah is also survived by her three brothers, who shared in her life’s journey: Michael (Kathleen) Brown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Steve Brown of Salina, Kansas; and Mark Brown of Columbia, Missouri.

In accordance with Deborah’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
