Esther’s life began on August 19, 1924, on the family farm near Peabody, KS. She was the daughter of Granville and Sylvia (Jarvis) Liggett. 

Esther was united in marriage to Robert Bowen in 1942 in Peabody, KS. 

Esther worked for many years as a nurse’s aide in area nursing homes in Florence, Peabody, and Marion. She was a wonderful crocheter, creating tablecloths, dolls and blankets for family and friends. Esther enjoyed playing cards, word games and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. 

Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Sonny Bowen of Alamogordo, NM, Gertrude Malm of Goessel, Mary Lou (James) Cogdill of Marion, Dan (Janet) Bowen of Moundridge, Elizabeth Johnson of Hillsboro and Nancy Shanklin of Florence, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Esther passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021, at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons Phillip and John Bowen and several siblings. 

A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Yazel- Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.

Shirley Marie Bebermeyer went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Shirley passed away at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas at the age of 88. She was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Abilene, Kansas to Oscar and Mary Sheets. She grew up in the Navarre community and graduated from DCCHS High School in 1950. She attended Kansas Wesleyan University for two years and received her teaching certificate.

On June 19, 1955 she married Kenneth Bebermeyer in Navarre, and to this union, five children were born Gregory, Sheryl, Kathy, Mary Jean and Sandra. All their married life was spent farming, first in the Sand Springs area and then they moved to the Talmage community.

After graduating from college and in her early years of marriage she taught elementary school for seven years in Navarre, Talmage, and Industry. After teaching she became a homemaker and an active partner in their farming operation. They retired from farming full-time in 1996. She attended Talmage United Methodist Church, the Lord’s Chapel and in more recent years was a member of Zion Brethren in Christ Church. She was active in Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary, Talmage EHU, UMW Society, Christian Women’s Club and taught adult Sunday School.

Survivors include son Greg Bebermeyer of Hiawatha, KS; Sheryl (Dave) Lundquist, of Plano, Texas; Kathy (Eric) Hoover, rural Abilene; Mary Bebermeyer of the home, and Sandy (Lee) Rometti of Iron River, Michigan; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Mary, sister Joyce and brother Wayne (Judy) and her husband Kenneth who passed away April 25, 2021. A celebration of life service will be at Zion Brethren in Christ Church, 997 K-18 Abilene, Kansas, Friday, August 27 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairiedale Cemetery, Talmage, Kansas. Shirley’s family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Lisa Dawn Zellers-Zodrow, 56, resident of Chapman, Kansas passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Lisa was born at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas on February 11, 1965 to Dean K. Zellers and Marilyn G. Talley-Zellers. She was the eldest of two children. Her beloved sister, Amy Glee joined their family in 1972.

“A celebration of life service” will be held on Saturday, August 28 at the Chapman Nazarene Church located at 317 W. 5th St. Chapman Kansas. Service will be held at 11 a.m. with a private interment of ashes at Indian Hill Cemetery. Pastor Scott Nading will be officiating the service.

Lisa spent most of her childhood growing up in Chapman, attending USD 473 schools until her graduation in 1983. That year she enrolled at Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas. She chose Bethany for its fine arts and Swedish heritage. Lisa graduated in 1987 with a BA in elementary education with a special focus on teaching children with learning disabilities.

While attending college she met her life’s love, Stephen L. Zodrow of Oberlin, Kansas. They were married on August 17, 1985 at the First Presbyterian Church, Junction City, Kansas. They had two children, Ashley DeAnne, and Kendall Dean.

Lisa is survived by her children Ashley D. Zodrow-Francis, Kendall D. Zodrow, sister Amy G. Myers, brother-in-law Jeffery M. Myers, mother Marilyn G. Zellers-Jury, stepfather Paul B. Jury Jr., and granddaughter Elizabeth Rose Francis. Lisa is also survived by her uncle MJ Talley and his wife Jennie, aunt Alice L. Baty and her husband Gary. 

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved father Dean K. Zellers, uncle Dale Zellers and his wife Nancy.

Dennis Charles Sidener was born to Leo and Ruth Sidener in Ada, Kansas on October 18, 1936, the middle of five children.&nbsp; He grew up in the small town of Ada as Denny, knowing every single resident in Ada and many of the farmers in the surrounding area.&nbsp; As a younger boy, he helped his Grandfather Sidener deliver dairy milk greeting each house member by name.&nbsp; He attended both grade and high school in Ada, participating in all sports, staying after practice to help his father who was school custodian.&nbsp; He was baptized in the Ada Antioch Baptist Church at an early age attending services every Sunday. The summer he was nine (9), he hired out to a rural farm family to do chores around the farm which developed into a full-time summer’s job on a tractor, running the combine or wheat hauling throughout high school and college.&nbsp; Any extra time was spent with his Aunt Doii and husband Louie helping on their livestock and agriculture farm.

After graduating from Ada High, he entered college at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas wanting to become a school teacher to help kids learn and become good citizens.&nbsp; During his four years at Fort Hay States, he worked at a restaurant and grill.&nbsp; Most weekends, he returned home working Saturdays at the local elevator and dating a girl in Delphos.

He was united in marriage to Laurel Mauk at the United Methodist Church in Delphos, Kansas on June 9, 1957, and had one son, Bradley.

Following his 1958 college graduation from Fort Hays State, he moved to Agenda, Kansas to begin his career of teaching woodworking and coaching high school football, basketball, and track. During his three years in Agenda, he and wife Laurel were regular attendees at the Agenda Methodist Church where they were high school youth group sponsors recruiting area students.&nbsp;

He moved to Enterprise, Kansas in the fall of 1961 for a one-year position at Enterprise High School followed by a transfer in the fall of 1962 to the Chapman, Kansas school district as junior high woodworking teacher, soon expanding the curriculum to industrial arts, and was the high school football coach, and 8th&nbsp;grade basketball and track coach.&nbsp; He soon was known throughout the county as “Coach” or “Coach Sidener ” who was a tough disciplinarian but fair.&nbsp; It was his personal joy every day to know he had encouraged and taught at least one of “his boys” not just the sport or classroom subject but something to help them become a better person and citizen.

Continuing his education, he graduated from Kansas State University the summer of 1965 with a master of science degree.&nbsp; Pursuing additional education, he attended classes at Kansas State, Emporia State, Pittsburg State and Wichita State.&nbsp; He was Kansas Board of Education certified in industrial arts, comp. (jr. and sr. high level), general science (jr. high level), driver education (jr. and sr. high level), physical education, (jr. and sr. high level), English (jr. high level), and school counselor (kindergarten through sr. high level).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Realizing the importance of guidance needed by junior high-level students and obtaining his school counselor certificate at K-State, he changed his career in the fall of 1981 from classroom teacher to guidance counselor at Chapman Junior High until his 1998 retirement. He was recognized as the 1991 Master Teacher for Unified School District #473 (Chapman, KS).

He spent summers doing home building and remodeling construction while attending classes and coaching summer boys’ baseball.&nbsp; After obtaining his driver education certificate, he then began teaching driver’s education for the Chapman district in the summer of 1980 until retirement.

In his local community, he was elected and served on the Enterprise City Council.&nbsp; He was an ardent blood donator to the blood mobile every time the mobile unit was in Chapman, Enterprise or Abilene, donating a total of 165 units.

He resided in Enterprise for 55 years, attending the Enterprise United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, on the administrative council, many committees, and a ready volunteer for most of the church needs and functions.&nbsp;

He was very proud of his two granddaughters and his three grandsons who were his extraordinary delight from babies to grown young men.&nbsp; He savored every moment of play and teaching them, attending their activities, and being part of their lives.&nbsp;

Dennis and wife Laurel relocated to Manhattan, Kansas for their retirement home the spring of 2017 to be near son Brad and wife Marilyn.

Dennis was a member of Enterprise United Methodist Church, Phi Delta Kappa, National Education Association, Kansas National Education Association, Fort Hays State University Alumni Association, Kansas State University Alumni Association, Isis Shriners International of Salina, and Enterprise Masonic Lodge.

Dennis is survived by his wife Laurel, son Brad Sidener and wife Marilyn, five grandchildren: Rachelle Swearingen and husband Ray, Sara Meng and husband Justin, Matthew Sidener and wife Brooke, Theodore Budden and wife Emily and Mark Sidener; and six great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard Sidener and wife Lucille and Rodney Sidener; sister Charlene Nichols; and other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Prochaska and husband Albert (Pro), sister-in-law Betty Sidener and brother-in-law Harold Nichols.&nbsp;

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m.. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 27 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.&nbsp; Funeral services will be at 11:00 Saturday, August 28 at the Enterprise United Methodist Church, Enterprise.&nbsp; Graveside services will at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.&nbsp;

Steven Mark Klein, age 62, passed away Sunday August 22, 2021, due to complications of Covid-19.

Steve was born on March 11, 1959 in Topeka, KS to Ruth Ann Tajchman. He was lovingly raised by his "Gram" Ruth Klein, who was a major influence in his life. Steve had a strong faith in God.

He was a very outgoing person and loved talking with his family and friends. His pride and joy in life were his boys, Miles and Mason. He was a very hard worker and spent his last 16 years working for Crestwood Cabinetry in Salina.&nbsp; He spent many years playing guitar and was in several bands in his young adulthood. His one big excitement in the last few years was putting on spectacular fireworks displays with his boys and their friends.

Steve is lovingly survived by his two sons Miles and Mason Klein, his mother Ruth Ann Tajchman, his sister Kim Friedli-Krch (Rodney), brother Kevin Krch (Kelly), nephews Seth and Nick, special friends Cindy Ring and Pam Redenbaugh. He also is survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous friends.

Visitations for friends will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 26 at Ryan Mortuary. The family will not be present.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, followed by burial in Tampa.

Duane N. Thibault, 66, of Salina, passed away on August 23, 2021 in Salina, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;Duane died of COVID-19 due to his compromised immune system from chemotherapy to treat his Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.&nbsp;

Duane was born in Osborne, KS to&nbsp;Ulysses&nbsp;and Millie Thibault on January 10, 1955.&nbsp; He went to school in Osborne.&nbsp; Duane graduated from Kansas State University in 1977 with a degree in accounting.&nbsp; He worked as a CPA for Kennedy &amp; Coe for seven years and retired from Blue Beacon International after working 37 years as Controller.&nbsp;&nbsp; Duane served on the Salina Rescue Mission Board and Sacred Heart High School Booster Club.&nbsp; He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.&nbsp;

Duane N. Thibault

Leona M. Randolph, 86, died on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Salina 
Presbyterian Manor. She was born on September 13, 1934, in Meade 
County, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Pearl (Brock) Reinert. 
Leona attended grades 1-8 at SunnyDale School in Meade County and grades
 9-10 at Meade High School. The Reinert family moved to a farm west of 
Deerfield in 1950 where Leona attended grades 11-12 at Deerfield High 
School. It was there that the Deerfield cheerleader met the love of her
 life, the young, handsome basketball player, Jack Randolph. They were 
married on April 8, 1953, at Saint Dominic's Catholic Church in Garden 
City, Kansas. They made their first home together in Deerfield, later 
moving to Lakin where they would live together on the farm north of 
town, then into town until Jack’s death on July 10, 2002. Leona moved 
to Salina, Kansas, to live with family in 2008. 
Out of high school, Leona worked at Sears &amp; Roebucks in Garden City 
as a cashier. After her marriage, she was a devoted mother and 
housewife. Leona later worked outside the home as a part time secretary
 at the Kearny County Extension office and later at Loucks &amp; 
McCormick. As the children grew, she started working at the Lakin Grade
 School lunchroom. In 1964, she started her county government career 
that would span 36 years. First as Deputy County Clerk for four years, 
then as Kearny County Clerk until her retirement in 2000. As County 
Clerk, she had many titles: County Assessor for six year, County 
Election Officer, Secretary to the Board of County Commissioners, Kansas
 County Clerks Association Officer from 1976-1978, and Southwest Kansas 
County Clerks Association Officer from 1982-1983. Leona was a dedicated
 public servant and was highly respected by the people of Lakin. She 
also found the time to be the secretary and bookkeeper for the family 
business, Randolph Repair, from 1967-1997. 
Leona was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lakin, and a 
member and officer of the Altar Society. After her move to Salina, she 
was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a member of the 
Ladies Group and Sojourners. She was also a member of Catholic 
Daughters at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina. Leona enjoyed the 
occasional fishing/camping trips with the family, working in the yard, 
doing small crafts like making ribbon crosses that she learned to make 
from her sister Dollie, scrapbooking, and just spending time keeping up 
with the many activities of the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids 
She enjoyed vacationing with family at the beach. Leona was firmly 
rooted in her Catholic faith. A strong faith in God and the many 
blessings she received was never taken for granted. She relied on this 
faith to keep her strong as her health failed. 
Leona is survived by a daughter, Mary and husband Kim Harmon of Salina, 
and son, Gary and wife Sheila Randolph of Searcy, Arkansas; 
sister-in-law June Reinert of Lakin; three awesome grandchildren, Seth 
and wife Jamie Harmon of Wichita, Stuart and wife Abby Harmon of 
Ellsworth, and Laken Randolph of Searcy, Arkansas; four precious 
great-grandchildren, Emerson and Ella of Wichita, and Kami and Addie of

Catholic Church in Lakin with Rev Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will 
be in Lakin Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7:00 PM Thursday at Garnand

 </figure>Leona M. Randolph, 86, died on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Salina 
Presbyterian Manor. She was born on September 13, 1934, in Meade 
County, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Pearl (Brock) Reinert. 
Leona attended grades 1-8 at SunnyDale School in Meade County and grades
 9-10 at Meade High School. The Reinert family moved to a farm west of 
Deerfield in 1950 where Leona attended grades 11-12 at Deerfield High 
School. It was there that the Deerfield cheerleader met the love of her
 life, the young, handsome basketball player, Jack Randolph. They were 
married on April 8, 1953, at Saint Dominic's Catholic Church in Garden 
City, Kansas. They made their first home together in Deerfield, later 
moving to Lakin where they would live together on the farm north of 
town, then into town until Jack’s death on July 10, 2002. Leona moved 
to Salina, Kansas, to live with family in 2008. 
Out of high school, Leona worked at Sears &amp; Roebucks in Garden City 
as a cashier. After her marriage, she was a devoted mother and 
housewife. Leona later worked outside the home as a part time secretary
 at the Kearny County Extension office and later at Loucks &amp; 
McCormick. As the children grew, she started working at the Lakin Grade
 School lunchroom. In 1964, she started her county government career 
that would span 36 years. First as Deputy County Clerk for four years, 
then as Kearny County Clerk until her retirement in 2000. As County 
Clerk, she had many titles: County Assessor for six year, County 
Election Officer, Secretary to the Board of County Commissioners, Kansas
 County Clerks Association Officer from 1976-1978, and Southwest Kansas 
County Clerks Association Officer from 1982-1983. Leona was a dedicated
 public servant and was highly respected by the people of Lakin. She 
also found the time to be the secretary and bookkeeper for the family 
business, Randolph Repair, from 1967-1997. 
Leona was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lakin, and a 
member and officer of the Altar Society. After her move to Salina, she 
was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a member of the 
Ladies Group and Sojourners. She was also a member of Catholic 
Daughters at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina. Leona enjoyed the 
occasional fishing/camping trips with the family, working in the yard, 
doing small crafts like making ribbon crosses that she learned to make 
from her sister Dollie, scrapbooking, and just spending time keeping up 
with the many activities of the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids 
She enjoyed vacationing with family at the beach. Leona was firmly 
rooted in her Catholic faith. A strong faith in God and the many 
blessings she received was never taken for granted. She relied on this 
faith to keep her strong as her health failed. 
Leona is survived by a daughter, Mary and husband Kim Harmon of Salina, 
and son, Gary and wife Sheila Randolph of Searcy, Arkansas; 
sister-in-law June Reinert of Lakin; three awesome grandchildren, Seth 
and wife Jamie Harmon of Wichita, Stuart and wife Abby Harmon of 
Ellsworth, and Laken Randolph of Searcy, Arkansas; four precious 
great-grandchildren, Emerson and Ella of Wichita, and Kami and Addie of 
Ellsworth. Many nieces and nephews called her Aunt Leona. She made

Victor Emanuel Ritter, 83, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at the 
Good Samaritan Home-Decatur County in Oberlin, Kansas. Victor was born 
on January 16, 1938, on the family farm west of Dresden, Kansas to 
Bernard “Ben” and Philomena “Minnie” (Kruse) Ritter. Victor was the 
tenth of eleven children and grew up on the family farm and attended 
Leoville High School graduating with the class of 1956. Victor was very
 athletic and participated in baseball and basketball. He was very 
talented in baseball and could have gone on to play after he was out of 
high school. 
 Victor’s parents helped all their boys get set up in farming. They 
were in the process of helping Victor and his brother, Dennis, get 
started in farming, when Dennis, at a very young age, was diagnosed with
 leukemia and passed away. Victor and his Dad finished establishing the
 farming operation west of Jennings, Kansas which is still owned and 
operated by Victor’s sons, Dennis Ritter and Craig Ritter. On April 20,
 1963, Victor and Frieda Martin were united in marriage at the St. 
Patrick Catholic Church in McCook, Nebraska. To this union, six 
children were born. They were later divorced on July 8, 1994. 
 Victor and Frieda raised six children on the farm. Victor was a 
rancher and a farmer raising cattle, hogs and crops. A hobby he enjoyed
 pursuing was dowsing. He would use divining rods to locate water or 
oil. He was very successful at this and many water wells and some oil 
wells were established because of his dowsing. Victor was a quiet man 
who didn’t share his emotions. It was very hard for him to find the 
words to let people know how much he appreciated what they had done for 
him or his family. Victor was raised to work hard and be a faithful and
 devout follower of Christ. He was a member of the Immaculate 
Conception Catholic Church in Leoville, Kansas. His family was 
important to him and he would light up when his grandchildren were 
around. Although he is gone, his memory will live deeply in the hearts 
of those who loved him.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard “Ben” and Philomena
 “Minnie” Ritter; brothers, Cletus Ritter, Raymond Ritter, Seraphim 
Ritter, Francis Ritter, Sylvester Ritter and Dennis Ritter; sister, 
Alfreda Colling; and grandson, Atkins Clydesdale.
 Victor is survived by six children, Donna Marie Mangold of Abilene, 
Kansas, Dennis Lawrence Ritter, Phillip Emanuel Ritter (June) and Craig 
Matthew Ritter all of Jennings, Kansas, Victoria Ann Bainter (David) and
 Teresa Joanne Clydesdale (Randy) all of Norton, Kansas; sisters, 
Florence Thompson of Hoxie, Kansas, Sister Delores Ritter of Maryknoll, 
New York, and Bernadine Spresser of Leoville, Kansas; grandchildren, 
Alexis Govert (Jake), Seth Ritter, Joshua Ritter, Zachary Bainter, Troy 
Bainter (Haley), Abby Bainter, Darcy Hager (Austin), Mackenzie 
Clydesdale, Derek Clydesdale and Luke Clydesdale; great-grandchildren,

Kansas with interment to follow the service in the Calvary Cemetery in 
Leoville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1:00 
P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the Vigil Service and Rosary starting at 7:00 
P.M. all being held at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie, Kansas.

Beth Ann Cook (Burgess/Mizner) was born on April 21, 1960 in Flagler, CO to Laverna Mizner and Pat Burgess. Beth Ann unexpectedly&nbsp;passed away in&nbsp;a tragic accident on June 25, 2021 in Matagorda, TX.&nbsp;

Beth Ann is preceded&nbsp;in death by her dad Pat Burgess, mom Laverna Mizner, and brother Dwight Burgess.&nbsp;

Beth Ann grew up in Esbon and Mankato KS. She graduated from Esbon High in Esbon KS. Beth Ann also lived in CA, HI, Maple Falls WA, LaCenter WA, Vancouver WA, Cheyenne WY, Tacoma WA, and Yoakum TX.

Beth Ann spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed her work, starting her career as an EMT then becoming a nurse RN, graduating from LCC in Longview WA. Beth Ann was assistant director of nursing at Halletsville&nbsp;Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in&nbsp;TX at the time of her passing. 

Beth Ann married Bernie February 9, 1999 and they loved to travel. They were&nbsp;traveling nurses before settling in TX. Beth Ann dedicated a lot of time and energy to her dogs,&nbsp;she enjoyed rescuing dogs and watching them thrive. She made many friends through great dane rescues. She loved visiting&nbsp;family and spoiling her grandkids.&nbsp;

She is survived by husband Bernie Cook in Yoakum, TX, daughter Nita Bange (Kenyon) in Brighton, CO, son Jeffrey Mizner (Kaitlin) in Bellingham, WA, son Ryan Hastings (Heidi) in Havre, MT, son Garrett Hastings (Lauren Stemple) in Tulsa, OK; brother Steve Burgess (Margaret) in Limon; CO; grandkids Gage Bange, Bailey Burdick (Bange), Brielle Bange, Kelton Bange, Jordyn Mizner, Aiden Hastings, and Emberlynn Hastings; and dogs Zeus, Tug, Kaos, Luna, Mayhem and Bella.

A graveside service is being held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Burr Oak, Kansas Cemetery at 5 p.m.&nbsp;

Cesar’s life began on January 8, 2004, the son of Cesar Octavio Meda and Abigail (Ramirez Martinez) Lopez-Ramirez in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a senior at Remington High School and was attending school in Newton to be a welder. He enjoyed playing football in his early years, welding school, and hoped to work with his father someday.

His loving family includes his parents Cesar and Abigail Lopez-Ramirez; siblings Angel and Andres Lopez-Ramirez all of Whitewater; grandparents Jose de Jesus Lopez Gonzales, Elvira Meda Lopez and Santiago Ramirez-Hernandez all of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ludivina Martinez-Martinez.

Cesar Lopez-Ramirez passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the age of 17 years old. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, August 24, from 2-4:30 p.m. Rosary at 4:30 with Mass following at 5:30, all at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 421 S. Ash St., Newton, Kansas 67114. Dustin Michael Cyr, age 31, entered into rest Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Longford, Kansas. He was born in Concordia, Kansas on January 21, 1990 to Marty and Brenda (Marcotte) Cyr.

He was a 2008 Clifton-Clyde High School graduate, Clyde, Kansas.&nbsp; 

Dustin excelled at all sports throughout his youth and especially at Clifton-Clyde High School Football where he still holds many records.&nbsp; He was an avid golfer and loved playing rounds of golf with his grandpa Kenny.&nbsp; Dustin cherished his time with his daughter Harper and also enjoyed sharing the art of golf with her.

Dustin was a union laborer working for several years for the Emery Bros. out of Kansas City.

Dustin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Wayne Cyr and his paternal grandmother Janice Smith.

Dustin is survived by his daughter Harper Jo; his parents Marty and Brenda, Longford, KS; sister Kim Birdsall (Brady) and his nephew Blaine; step-sister Carly Wood, nephew Blaise and niece Gwyneth, Derby, KS; step-brother Trahan Cry, nephew Tristan, Topeka, KS; maternal grandparents Kenny and Christine Marcotte, aunts and uncles Cheryl and Bobby Crawford, Ann and Leroy Bessette, all of Clyde; David Cyr (Christopher), Buffalo, New York; and several cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas, with Fr. Steven Heina Officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Nellie Smith, 100, of Junction City passed away August 18, 2021. She was born April 12, 1921 in a log cabin in Geary County, the daughter of Henry and Jeannetta (Asmussen) Kramer. On June 7, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ray Smith. He preceded her in death March 12, 2012. 

Nellie worked as a seamstress for numerous years in Junction City. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Junction City, Circle 3, EEU and the historical society. 

Nellie was very much a people person. She enjoyed striking up a conversation with people wherever she went. Traveling was a high point in life for Nellie. Her and Ray loved taking trips all over the United States, whether it was driving cars across the country for Jim Clark Chevrolet, taking bus trips, or hauling the camper to see the sights and meet the people. Nellie was well known in the community for her generosity, her passion for programs for kids and history, her dedication to the Geary County 4-H program and other organization. 

Nellie is preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents, and her brother Daniel Kramer. 

Services for Nellie will include visitation at 9:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Junction City (1429 St. Mary’s Road). Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Geary County (off K-18). 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Geary County 4-H Foundation or to the First Christian Church.

Jack E. Meehan, 69, of Abilene passed away August 19, 2021. He was born July 28, 1952 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the son of John and Maxine (Greenough) Meehan. Jack attended the local schools in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1970. On August 2, 1970 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bowyer at the Abilene First Christian Church. 

Jack was an Abilene police officer from 1973-1983 and then the undersheriff of Dickinson County from 1983-1985. He then went into trucking, driving for Western Auto, Parts America, and then UPS Truckload, hauling Advance Auto Parts. He was an elder at the First Christian Church and also taught Sunday school. 

Jack is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of the home; two sons, John Meehan and Matthew Meehan; four grandchildren: Hovie, Haven, Cole and Lucas; sister-in-law Linda Meehan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Meehan.

Funeral services for Jack will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the First Christian Church of Abilene with Pastor Jason Kohler officiating. Burial will follow at Prairiedale Cemetery in Talmage. Friends may come by anytime Wednesday to pay their respects.

LINDSBORG, KS -&nbsp;Olga Bindos Alexenko, formerly of Salina, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Bethany Village in Lindsborg, Kansas.&nbsp; She was 97 years old.

Olga is survived by her son Michael Alexenko and his partner Shelly Beech; four grandchildren, Fred Salazar, Brianna Salazar, Cory Bieber, Nikolas Alexenko; and two great-granddaughters.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents Dimian Bindos and Natalka Trofimovna Bindos, her brothers Korniy, Sergey and Mitia Bindos; her husband Alex Alexenko and her children Olga Nadine Salazar, Mary Ann Valentina Bieber, and John Victor Alexenko.

Olga was born on October 19, 1923, in Velyka Burimka, Ukraine.&nbsp; Her life was disrupted by WWII when she was taken to Austria and placed in a Nazi work camp.&nbsp; Post-war she was moved to the Kapfenberg Displaced Persons Transit Camp in Austria where she married Alex Alexenko.&nbsp; While waiting for the opportunity to emigrate, Olga Nadine was born.&nbsp; Through the support of the Brethren Church, she and her little family found their way to New York, after which the Evangelical Covenant Church provided them a home on a farm near Lindsborg, Kansas.&nbsp; A few years later Olga and her growing family moved to Salina, Kansas.

As her children grew up, Olga began working at Tony’s Pizza in a variety of production roles for nearly two decades.&nbsp; In retirement Olga would read, fish, spend time at the senior center and tend to her magnificent vegetable and flower gardens.&nbsp;&nbsp; She enjoyed watching old westerns and British comedies.&nbsp; Olga always enjoyed a good joke, prank, or a good story.&nbsp; Laughter and sharing will be how many will remember her.

Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th Street, Salina.&nbsp; A funeral service for Olga is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, at the First Covenant Church, 2625 Magnolia, Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; It will be immediately followed by a graveside burial at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.&nbsp;

Hillsboro, formerly of Salina - Cliff Carlson, 83, passed away August 19, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born August 7, 1938 in Scandia, Kansas to Vic and Elin (Bloomgren) Carlson. He married Mardell Wolff March 25, 1962 in WaKeeney, Kansas.

Clifford “Cliff” Emanuel Carlson was the youngest child of Victor and Elin Carlson. He was born on August 7, 1938 on a farm near Courtland, Kansas. Cliff attended several schools in the Courtland and Scandia area before the family moved to Belleville where he attended high school, excelling in track and field. After graduating from Belleville High School, he moved to Salina and worked at Weeks Grocery Store, while also serving a six-month stint in the Army Reserves. In 1960 Cliff met his wife of 59 years, Mardell (Wolff), marrying her on March 25, 1962. Two years later, in 1964, he began working for NCR (National Cash Register) as a computer engineer. This job took the family, which now included daughter, Kaylene and son, Scott, from Denver, CO to Dayton, OH as well as Wichita, Liberal, Garden City and Salina, Kansas. Cliff retired in 2001. In 2003, the desire to be closer to the grandchildren inspired one final move to Hillsboro. His years in Hillsboro were filled with many hours of watching the grandsons in all of their activities from cross country to track, and the family favorite, wrestling. Cliff and Mardell enjoyed many excursions in their 5th wheel, including spending three summers in Colorado. Aside from the grandchildren and camping, he loved KU basketball and the Kansas City Royals. Cliff suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke in May 2020 from which he never completely recovered. He passed away at the age of 83 years and 12 days. Survivors include his wife, Mardell, daughter, Kaylene (Ronald) Mueller, son, Scott (Nora) Carlson, grandchildren: Nicholas (Melissa) Mueller, Darren (Samantha) Mueller, Bret (Samantha) Mueller, Sean Carlson, Jennifer Carlson; great-grandchildren: Lucas and Carter Mueller and Lincoln Mueller; sister ClaraMae Brown, brothers-in-law: John McBride and Lloyd Bell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by: brother, Ralph Carlson; sisters, Ruby Carlson, Bernice Carlson, Mary Louise Carlson.

Barry Lynn Henry, 46, of Canton, Kansas, passed away suddenly at 3:25 a.m., Thursday, August 19th, 2021, at his home in rural Canton, Kansas. Barry was born in Dodge City, Kansas on December 16, 1974. Barry is the son of Leta Irene (Rule) and Gary Jerome Henry. Barry attended Dodge City grade schools and graduated from Dodge City High School, Dodge City, Kansas. He then attended and graduated from Tulsa Welding School, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through the years Barry worked as a welder, pipefitter, and boilermaker for American Boiler and Mechanical, Salina, Kansas and was currently employed at CHS of McPherson as a pipefitter. Barry Lynn Henry was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Aitken on June 2, 2007 in McPherson, Kansas. This union brought together Barry's son Quentin and Sarah's daughters Silas and Asa. The family established their first home together in McPherson. The couple was blessed with the birth of three children, Wyatt, Levi, and Jovey. In May of 2014 the family fulfilled their dream of moving out to the country. Barry enjoyed cooking and working in his shop. He loved being outside, was very good working with his hands, and renovating their homes. Barry enjoyed welding projects working with wrought iron. He also enjoyed construction projects and carpentry. His greatest love was spending time with his family and helping his children with their rodeo events and other activities. In his younger years, Barry loved dirt bike riding and camping. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 14 years, Sarah Henry, of Canton, Kansas; his children, Quentin Henry, of Dodge City, Kansas, Silas Courtney, of Canton, Kansas, Asa Courtney, of Canton, Kansas, Wyatt Henry, of Canton, Kansas, Levi Henry, of Canton, Kansas, and Jovey Henry, of Canton, Kansas; his parents, Leta and Gary Henry of Dodge City, Kansas; his brothers, Tracy Henry and wife Tami, of Garden City, Kansas and Bradly Henry and wife Staci, of Salina, Kansas; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Barry Lynn Henry was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Aitken on June 2, 2007 in McPherson, Kansas. This union brought together Barry's son Quentin and Sarah's daughters Silas and Asa. The family established their first home together in McPherson. The couple was blessed with the birth of three children, Wyatt, Levi, and Jovey. In May of 2014 the family fulfilled their dream of moving out to the country. Barry enjoyed cooking and working in his shop. He loved being outside, was very good working with his hands, and renovating their homes. Barry enjoyed welding projects working with wrought iron. He also enjoyed construction projects and carpentry. His greatest love was spending time with his family and helping his children with their rodeo events and other activities. In his younger years, Barry loved dirt bike riding and camping. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 14 years, Sarah Henry, of Canton, Kansas; his children, Quentin Henry, of Dodge City, Kansas, Silas Courtney, of Canton, Kansas, Asa Courtney, of Canton, Kansas, Wyatt Henry, of Canton, Kansas, Levi Henry, of Canton, Kansas, and Jovey Henry, of Canton, Kansas; his parents, Leta and Gary Henry of Dodge City, Kansas; his brothers, Tracy Henry and wife Tami, of Garden City, Kansas and Bradly Henry and wife Staci, of Salina, Kansas; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Barry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wayne and Doris Rule and paternal grandparents Fred and Doris Henry. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canton, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 with Pastor Brent Horne officiating. &nbsp;Janice “Jan” Koster, age 82, died peacefully with her children by her side on August 18, 2021, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was born in Cawker City, Kansas on April 5, 1939, to Henry and Susan (Thomas) Koster.&nbsp;&nbsp; Jani was the youngest of twelve siblings and she was very much loved and pampered by all.

Janice was baptized April 8, 1939, and confirmed on May 23, 1951, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City.&nbsp; During her school years she enjoyed cheerleading, music, and playing the saxophone.&nbsp;&nbsp; In May of 1957 Jan graduated from Cawker City High School.&nbsp; Janice married Allan Gaskill on June 1, 1957, and to this union were born two children Scott Allan and Jill Rene.&nbsp;

After moving their family to Cambridge, Nebraska she was active in Beta Nu Sorority.&nbsp; Jan owned and operated The Hair Factory for many years before moving to Colorado to be closer to Jill.&nbsp; She continued to work as a Hair Stylist in Loveland, Colorado for 30 years before retiring and returning to Nebraska to be near Scott and his family.

Jan liked to decorate, clean, and organize when she wasn’t working with her clients.&nbsp; Shopping was one of her favorite activities and she always wore the perfect outfit along with the shoes, accessories, and jewelry to match!&nbsp; She planned her daily retirement schedule around watching her soap opera – "Days of Their Lives".&nbsp; She enjoyed scrapbooking and sharing photographs with family and friends.&nbsp; She loved her sister trips and all the fun memories they made together. Jan especially enjoyed being a member of a big family and always looked forward to attending Koster family reunions.
