Charles D. Bock was born Jan. 4, 1943 to Elmer and&nbsp;Louise (Folger) Bock in their home,&nbsp;Cawker City, KS.&nbsp;Charley entered his heavenly home on February 28, 2022 at the age of 79 years.&nbsp;

Charley attended Cawker City schools graduating as a Pirate from Cawker City High School in 1961. He helped at his great-uncle Charles Vasterling’s furniture store with his mother. He attended Fort Hays College for a couple years.

He helped build his home in Cawker in 1966 where he lived for the remaining 55 years of his life. Charley married his sweetheart, Roberta (Battishill) on March 18, 1978 and&nbsp;enjoyed almost 44 years of marriage.&nbsp;

He worked at Boettcher Supply in Beloit, KS for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. He was the telecommunications manager. Charley was proud of all three&nbsp;of his sons and&nbsp;some son-in-laws who worked in the IT industry as well. He had a great aptitude for technology. He taught himself computer programming and&nbsp;did website design.

Charley loved Jesus and was devoted to learning and&nbsp;sharing God’s word. He enjoyed various area men’s Bible studies through the years. He memorized the Christmas story from Luke 2. Often reciting the entire chapter from memory at his church, Lighthouse Community Church, Downs, KS. Charley enjoyed singing, starting from his high school glee club. He was the bass singer in the GloryLand Quartet.&nbsp;

Preceding him in death were his parents and&nbsp;daughter Holly Louise.&nbsp;

Celebrating his life and&nbsp;looking forward to a heavenly reunion is&nbsp;his wife and&nbsp;dear caregiver of over 43 years, Roberta of the&nbsp;home,&nbsp;Cawker City; daughters Stacey (Bob) Norcross, Palmrya, IN, Melodie (Ted) Glasco, Parker, CO, Melinda (Quentin) Tedford, St. Francis, KS; sons Charles Bock II,Plano, TX; Martin (Denise) Bock, Bedford, TX; Matthew Bock- Castle Rock, CO.

Charley was blessed with 14 Grandchildren plus&nbsp;one&nbsp;on the way,&nbsp;7 Great-grandchildren &nbsp;plus one&nbsp;on the way: Brooke (Jonathan) Mayfield- RJ, Elianna; Brianne (Reese) Bintz- Alayna, Aydon; Ashley (Jenkins) Pombo- Amaris, Aliza, Jessalyn; Abbie Norcross; Fhallon (Anthony) Ortiz; Gabbi &amp; Charlie Rhew; Wyatt Gray; Brayson Bock; Libertie and Jubilie Glasco; Annabelle, Asher and KarieAnn Tedford&nbsp;

Funeral services will be at Lighthouse Community Church, Downs, on Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cawker&nbsp;City KS.&nbsp;

Gary “Kevin” Turner, 65, of Bennington, Kan., passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was born on October 13, 1956.

He was born October 13, 1956, in Concordia, Kan., to Doyle and Doris (Colton) Turner.

Kevin owned and operated Kevin Turner Construction for 47 years. He was very honest, hardworking, loyal, and devoted. He did remodel work and he especially loved working in his shop building custom cabinets for people. Over the years he developed many friendships and repeat clients. He loved what he did, and it showed in his work.

He loved watching old John Wayne westerns, which was one of his favorite ways to spend Sunday afternoons. Kevin was loved by all who knew him; he was always willing to help a friend out.

Kevin was married to his loving wife, Nancy, for 23 wonderful years. He was the sunshine of Nancy’s life, and her rock.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Turner; sons Luke Turner (Lisa), and Mark Turner (Meghan); three beautiful granddaughters, who were the apple of his eye, with another grandbaby due to arrive in February; parents Doyle and Doris; siblings, Neva Turner, Robert Turner (Cindy), Bradley Turner (Dianna), Nancy Schultz, and David Turner (Lisa); loving dog Maddie; many nieces and nephews; and some of the best friends any man could have.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Bennington Bible Church, 824 N Nelson, Bennington, Kan.

Robert L. McLeighton of Salina passed on March 1st, 2022, to be with the Lord.

He was born on March 27th, 1932, to Duncan and Iris McLeighton in Baxley, Georgia.

Robert graduated as valedictorian from Baxley High School, served four years during the Korean War in the USAF, and retired with a 34-year career at Deere &amp; Company.

He met and married his wife Dorothy Groth in 1955.

Robert was an avid golf player and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. With an infectious smile and sense of humor, Robert was a joy to know. Most of all, he loved his family and was a devoted and beloved father, husband, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy McLeighton of 61 years, two children Kim Cunningham (Skip) of Ely, Nevada; Kevin McLeighton (Shirley) of Salina, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tharen.

There will be a private graveside service.

Richard E. “Dick” Todd. 86, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his home. Dick was born August 1, 1935, in Minneapolis to Wendell O. and Marjorie L. (Kay) Todd.

After graduating from Minneapolis High School, Dick attended the University of Kansas where he played football before enlisting in the United States Army. After serving two years, Dick returned to KU where he finished his education. 

Dick and Jean Hahn were united in marriage on June 15, 1958, in Minneapolis. 

For 40 years, he was the owner and operator of The Todd Agency in downtown Minneapolis.

Dick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis where he served as an elder and trustee.&nbsp; Dick belonged to the Masons and the Lions Club and was a former school board and housing authority board member.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Jean; daughters Kathy Wooton and her husband Mike, Sue Jaax and her husband Bryan, and Carol Alexander and her husband Rick; stepsister Judy Jones; grandchildren Todd Wooton and his wife Maggie, Andy Wooton and his wife Caitlin, Jeff Wooton, Eathan Jaax and his wife Sondra, Liz Rutledge and her husband Devon, Molly Jaax, and Caitlin, Grace, and Austin Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Lexie and Kelsie Wooton.

Tammie was united in marriage to Edwin “Butch” Suffield on June 14, 2008. 

Tammie was a lover of all animals. She and Butch enjoyed life together on their Peabody farm raising cows, chickens, horses, guineas, and an occasional goose. She had a special love for her dogs and cats that were her special family. 

She worked as a CNA at Peabody Health and Rehab for many years. Her greatest joy was seeing the residents daily enjoying the best life they could. 

Tammie leaves to mourn her passing her husband Butch Suffield, son DuWayne Suffield and wife Jodi, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Teresa Maples, sisters-in-law Wilma Hypsha, Juanita Birkle, Linda Olsen (Harold), Koni Yoder, brother-in-law Roger Hett, many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and nieces and a host of friends and neighbors.

Cecilia attended the District # 95 Country School in Edmond, Kansas and graduated from Edmond High School, Edmond, Kansas in 1950. Cecilia was united in marriage to Morris Elry Metheny on June 3, 1950 at Norton, Kansas. They established their first home together on a farm just north of Edmond, Kansas. Through the years they lived in Lenora, Kansas, Hays, Kansas, back to Lenora, Hooker, Oklahoma, Sublette, Kansas, Ellis, Kansas, Goodland, Kansas, Bazine, Kansas, and Ness City, Kansas, before coming to McPherson. Cecilia was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She worked as a clerk for a dime store and a nurses' aide for the Ness County Hospital and in McPherson she worked as a clerk for Montgomery Wards, the cable office, and for the Treasure Chest Pawn Shop, all of McPherson. She also worked as a nurses' aide for the Cedars Health Care Center, McPherson, Kansas She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary and was on a local bowling team. Cecilia enjoyed her family, friends, working in her flower garden, and bowling was one of her passions. She treated everyone as an equal and made everyone feel that they were important to her. She was Moma Bear to all her kids, and was Grandma to all her grandchildren and their friends. She never had a baby that didn't love her. She is survived by her children Tim Metheny of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, son Jim Metheny and wife Peg of McPherson, Kansas, Rodney Metheny and wife Toni of North Freedom, Wisconsin, Terry Metheny and wife Judi of Milton, Washington, Vicki Wing and husband Clarence of McPherson, Kansas; and Camine Wieder and husband Mark of Marquette, Kansas; 28 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris Metheny; her parents; her brothers Joseph, Leonard, Floyd, Henry, Louis, Norman Edgett; her sister Alberta Metheny; and a great-grandson, Issiah Malcom Metheny. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at Glidden - Ediger Chapel in McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Lacy Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Park Cemetery, New Gottland, Kansas. Helen Marie Lirley, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Ellsworth. She was born December 7, 1941 in Sarcoxie, MO to John and Anna (Eck) Filarski. She married Charles Lirley in Bethany, MO in 1962.

Helen is survived by her husband Charles Lirley of Ellsworth; sisters Loretta Gasser of Pierce City, MO and Mary Rimel of Wichita, KS; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Diana Kupka of Independence, MO and Elsie Howg of Des Moines, IA. 

She was preceded in death by her son Brian Lirley, her parents, and sister Ann Josephson.

Terry’s life began on December 11, 1947, in Newbern, TN. He was the son of James Earl and Elizabeth (Featherston) Hilliard. 

Terry was a graduate of Newbern High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. 

He joined the United States Air Force after leaving college and served his country as sergeant in the Air Force. 

Terry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy Allen, on February 14, 1971, at the Herington United Methodist Church. 

He worked for the Rock Island Railroad. He also worked at Catlins IGA as their butcher. Terry spent most of his working life employed by Greeley Gas Co., as a senior corrosion technician, the forerunner to Atmos Energy from which he retired. &nbsp;

Family was always first to Terry and had no greater joy. He enjoyed his morning walks, keeping his lawn, cars and house in good order. &nbsp;He helped deliver Meals on Wheels and was a member of The Civic Club.

Terry also loved music and had a wide and varied playlist. 

He is survived by his wife Peggy of Herington, sons Jamie (Angela) Hilliard of Topeka and Jeff (Shandi) Hilliard of Holton; grandchildren Jake Hilliard, Macey Treinen, Avery Hilliard, Cameron Treinen, Logan Treinen, Toby Leavendusky, Lauren Leavendusky, Shaye Leavendusky, Ty Hilliard, and Carlin Hilliard; and his sister Pam (Rick) Camp of Jackson, TN. 

Terry passed away on Friday February 25, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. 

His family will gather with friends on Saturday March 5, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Herington for his memorial service led by Pastor Bryan Polin. Terry will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Dorthy Mae Bohm, 100, of Salina, Kan., passed away Monday, February 28, 2022. She was born December 15, 1921, to Vernon and Gladys (Clifford) DeWitt in Crete, Neb.

Dorthy married Leonard Bohm on December 4, 1944 in Concordia, Kan. Over the years she worked for St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia, and St. John’s and Asbury Hospitals in Salina, retiring in 1984.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Leonard; five brothers; three sisters; and a grandson.

Survivors include her daughter Joyce Wakefield (David); son Roger Bohm (Judy); five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-granddaughter; three great-great grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. Visitation with family will precede the service beginning at 9 a.m. with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Salina.

She went to school in Great Bend, Kansas. Tina was a receptionist at Coyote Canyon in Salina and later a homemaker until her passing. 

She married Timothy Wayne Crum April 20, 2013, in Salina, Kansas where the couple made their loving home together.

Tina was preceded in death by her father Joe Dennis, and a sister Tanya Kay Bailey.

Survivors include her loving husband Timothy; mother Yvonne, Salina, KS; sister Laura, brother Joe Dennis (Jr.), OK; nephew Tyler Bailey; aunt Carol Shepard; uncle David Vanley; many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Gould was born Delores Ardith Calkins on May 29, 1934, at Tescott, KS., and lived most of her life in the Salina area. She was a homemaker, secretary for Norris Furniture for 10 years, and a child day Care provider for over 30 years before retiring in 1996.

She was a member of the Heartland Worship Center, Salina, and was active in the women’s ministries and Sunday school for many years. She formerly was a member of TOPS and Crossroaders Camping Club as well.

Survivors include her husband Robert W. of the home, three sons, Michael, Corpus Christi, TX., Robert E., Loveland CO., and Wesley, Salina; a sister, Joyce Sprecker, Goodland, KS.: and nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford, Salina.

Doris Joan “Jo”&nbsp;Pruitt&nbsp;age 92 passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022 with family by her side. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Doris was born on December 24, 1929 in Phillips County to Warren Lemuel and Nora Helen (Chance) VanEaton. She enjoyed time spent with two big brothers, and later, a younger sister.

Left to celebrate her life include daughters Jolene Deisher of Woodward, Oklahoma, Melanie&nbsp;Pruitt-Tillberg (Michael) of Salina, Kansas; sister Carmen Rice of Kensington, Kansas; and many nieces &amp; nephews.

Doris loved the name of Grandma and was thrilled to be a Grandma to five: Jennifer (Jeff), Tammy (Mark), Ben, Abe, and Chase (Kalina).

She was so proud to be a Great-Grandma to seven: Jeremy, Jentry, Lauren, Landon, Seth, Wyatt, and Hunter.

Doris felt especially blessed to be a Great-Great-Grandma to four: Emma, Ben, Aubrey, and Syrus,

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Rollo Wayne “R.W.”&nbsp;Pruitt; her son, Charles “Chuck”&nbsp;Pruitt; son-in-law, Doug Deisher; and brothers, Merton VanEaton &amp; Burton “Herb” VanEaton.

Doris is a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to cook for her family, play cards, and she made many treasured patchwork blankets for her family and friends.

The family requests that memorials be made to Service Dogs for Wounded Warriors, The Salina Animal Shelter, and Hospice of Salina.

Ronald E. “Ron” Schepmann, 69, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, in Hoisington, KS. He was born May 5, 1952, in Hoisington to Elroy and Rose Anna (Hagge) Schepmann. 

Ron married Damaris Smith on August 2, 1997, in Holyrood, KS.

Ron was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a beloved brother and uncle. He was a fine man, a knowledgeable stockman and farmer, a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Holyrood, and member of Holyrood American Legion Post 200. He will be remembered for his love of family, especially his wife Damaris. He had a quirky sense of humor that he practiced on his many family members, especially his nephews and nieces. He very much loved being a grandpa. He was brave in the face of overwhelming medical issues and never wavered in his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. The lives of those who knew him were enriched by knowing him.

Ron is survived by his wife Damaris of Bushton; stepsons Phil Mareu (Bailey) of Lawrence, KS, Matthew Martinez of Lenexa, KS, and Gabriel Martinez of Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Vern Schepmann (Karen) of Holyrood and Paul Schepmann (Karin) of Holyrood; nephews Matthew, Jeremy, and Christopher; and nieces Elizabeth and Jill. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Elroy and Rose Anna Schepmann.

Memorial service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holyrood. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.

Marsha Poppe Koster was born on June 3, 1955, in Marion, Kansas, and passed to her heavenly home on February 27, 2022. She was in the company of her loved ones as she left this world.

Marsha had many outstanding qualities. She first exhibited these skills as an athlete at Centre High School as she led the Cougars in their inaugural season to a second place finish in the 1A state basketball tournament. She then took her talents to Kansas State University where she was a four-year letter winner on the Wildkittens basketball and track programs. She was one of the leading rebounders and scorers on the team and helped them to a sixth-place finish in the national tournament in 1975. In track she excelled in the javelin throw and finished fourth in the nation as a freshman and second in both her sophomore and junior years. Her senior year she was unable to participate because of an illness.

Marsha graduated from Kansas State with a degree in home economics and began her teaching career in Summerfield, Kansas, and later substitute taught at Mankato and Clay Center. She obtained her degree in special education in 2000 and began her new career as teacher at Blue Valley and Clay Center Community High School. She continued in this position until her retirement in 2021. Because of her gentle, nurturing and caring personality she influenced many students and acquired their trust and confidence throughout the years. In addition to her teaching position, Marsha also was involved in coaching at these schools.

One of Marsha's passions was volleyball—watching and officiating the sport. Marsha refereed volleyball for 40+ years and worked numerous state tournaments, as well as many other tournaments and matches during this time. Because of her knowledge and expertise, she was selected to be an area supervisor for the activities ssociation in volleyball and worked in this capacity for over 20 years.

Marsha was an excellent seamstress and used her talents in a variety of ways. She learned these skills from her mother and made many of her own clothes in high school and college. For many years she enjoyed crossstitch and many of her projects are displayed around the house. She also crafted many different dolls and collectibles and sold these at area craft shows. In her later years, she began to quilt and was an active member of the local quilt guild.

Of all the roles in which Marsha participated, the one in which she was most proud, was that of being a wife, mother and later, a grandmother. She devotedly followed the activities of her three children—Jamie, Brett, Megan—and supported them in their many adventures. She was a willing volunteer in helping with homework, school projects and encouraged the kids in their academic and athletic pursuits. She undertook the job of being a grandmother with enthusiasm and followed her grandchildren's activities with excitement and joy, looked forward to their numerous events and smothered them with love.

Marsha was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Erin; her father Vernon "Bum", and her brother Tom.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ron; her children Jamie Koster of Clay Center; Brett Koster and wife Andrea, children Bo and Farah of Chapman; Megan Griffiths and husband Cane, children Ellie, Rylee, Raegan, Sawyer, and Emmie of Wakefield; her mother Ruth Poppe of Clay Center; sister-in-law Carol of Leawood; a brother, Wayne Poppe and wife Connie of Oklahoma City; a sister, Janelle Poppe of Olathe and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Marsha was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul on March 4 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon and then burial at the Cawker City Cemetary.

Visitation will take place at the funeral home on March 3 from 3-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. Rosary will follow.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to CCCHS Scholarship Fund, Meadowlark Hospice or Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for handicapped restrooms.

Verl Eckman peacefully passed from this life February 27, 2022 at Village Manor, Abilene, Kansas. He was born to Thomas Jefferson “T.J” and Dorothy “Dot” (Frohardt) Eckman on August 4, 1931 in Abilene, Kansas. Verl was raised in rural Dickinson County and attended Talmage schools until he and his parents moved to Abilene in 1941. He graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1949. Verl was inducted into the service of the United States Army August 29, 1952 at Camp Crowder, in Missouri. He spent one year of his service with the 278th IRCT at Keflavik, Iceland. Active tour of duty ended August 30, 1954. On January 7, 1953, in Westfall, Kansas, Verl was united in marriage to Betty Carr. To this union were born four daughters and one son. Verl and Betty were blessed to spend 69 years together. He worked as a carpenter for Builders Incorporated in Wichita, Kansas and then was employed as a shipping clerk at Boeing Aircraft for 17 years. When he relocated his family back to Abilene, he worked as a shipping clerk at CE Raymond/ABB Preheater, Inc. at Enterprise, Kansas for 25 years. Verl was a member of the Abilene First United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher at the early service, and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School class.

During his retirement years he and Betty enjoyed traveling - Seattle, Washington, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, just to name a few. Highlight trips: McKinney, Texas and Table Rock Lake, Missouri. Verl was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Jeannette.

Mary was born to William and Ann Kondzela in Milwaukee, WI on March 12, 1956.

Mary is survived by her children; Michael, Matthew, and Katherine; her sisters Paulette and Patricia and brother William; as well as her six beautiful grandchildren who she adored immensely.

When Mary decided to relocate to Salina, Kansas, she worked nearly 40 years with Phillips Lighting, retiring last spring. Her achievements and hard work did not stop there. She committed her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother and “Amma” as her grandchildren named her.

Mary’s selfless love excelled at propping up her family and friends. She had a contagious laugh and a big smile that she was willing to share with so many. Mary was always eager to help others and had a special passion for the outdoors. She was a magical gardener; she could grow anything! When she wasn’t taking time to help others or spreading her laughter, she would share her huge heart with all animals especially her four-legged babies. She would fulfill her days with her family, pets and gardening.

We will hold the most amazing memories of our mother and we will miss her greatly.

Gail Aliene Marvin, 80, of Salina, Kansas unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 24, 2022. &nbsp;

 </figure><a href="https://www.ryanmortuary.com/obituary/Gail-Marvin">Obituary for Gail Aliene (Van Valkenburg) Marvin | Ryan Mortuary</a>September 12, 1941 ~ February 24, 2022 (age 80)Gail Aliene Marvin, 80, of Salina, Kansas unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 24, 2022. &nbsp;Gail was born to John and Geneva (Steen) Van Valkenburg in Topeka, Kansas on September 12, 1941. The family lived in Topeka, Garden City and Wichita, Kansas and settled in Montezuma, Kansas, where she graduated from Montezuma High School in 1959.&nbsp; She earned her RN degree from Wesley Hospital College of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas in 1962, where she began nursing and lived until 1964. &nbsp;Gail married the love of her life, Roy J. (Jim) Marvin, on September 20, 1964, in Montezuma. After their wedding, they moved to California, first to Compton and then to Long Beach.&nbsp; While in California, she worked as an obstetrics nurse at Lakewood General Hospital, where both of her children were born. Feeling the call of her home state as a good place to raise their children, they returned to Kansas in 1972 and settled down in Salina, where Gail continued to work as a nurse at Asbury Hospital until her retirement and went on to work at Mowery Clinic. Always one to give freely of her time and talents, she was constantly involved in her community, through serving and singing in her church, singing in the annual ‘Messiah’ presentations at Bethany College and with the Salina Choral and the Silvertones.&nbsp; &nbsp;She also served in many volunteer activities, including most recently with Meals on Wheels and at Salina Regional Health Center. The compassion, generosity, patience, and kindness she extended to all she met were a perfect reflection of her loving spirit and commitment to her faith in Jesus Christ.Gail deeply loved being with family. Whether it was hosting loved ones at her home in Salina or travelling across the country in her beloved camper, she always made an effort to be involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She was a phenomenal housekeeper, keeping her home immaculately clean and baking the best cherry pies and carrot cookies around. She and her husband, Jim, loved spending time with one another, and together they enjoyed seeing the country on their own or with their trailer club and square dancing with the Salina Twirlers. She enjoyed reading, walking, bowling, watching KU basketball and going out to the Salina airport, just to see what kind of planes might be there.&nbsp; She loved animals, and her friends and neighbors knew that if they found a stray kitten, they should, “Check with Gail!” She was wise but supremely humble. She was always quick to listen, and even quicker to laugh.Gail was preceded in death by her parents John and Geneva, and sister Patricia (Pat) VanCleave.&nbsp;She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, children Beth (Kevin) Borger and Matt (Sue) Marvin, grandchildren Hayden, Logan (Maris) and Ashton Borger, Grant (Erin) and Cole Marvin, devoted sisters, LouAna (Ann) Van Valkenburg, Virgina Van Valkenburg, Kathy (Joe) Powell, along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.Visitation will be Friday, March 4, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. with family present at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St, Salina.&nbsp; A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Belmont Blvd. Church of the Nazarene, 2632 Highland Ave., Salina, with Rev.
