Laurie Likins, 50, of Assaria, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022.
Memorial services for Laurie will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, KS. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. that same day.
The daughter of Charley Withrow, Jr. and Laura Hardin, Laurie was raised in McPherson, along with her siblings, Eric Hardin, Cindy Tillman and Martha Sheldon.
She graduated from McPherson High School and later attended cosmetology school. Laurie worked as an aide in the health care field and later as a hair stylist. She brought her big, giving heart to both professions in a loving and selfless way.
In 1996 Laurie married the love of her life, Mitchell “Mike” Ray Likins, Jr. Laurie and Mike enjoyed their “family members” with many horses, dogs, and cats. They were married for 12 years until Mike’s untimely death in 2008.
Laurie had many hobbies including books and movies, canning, crossword puzzles and crocheting. She enjoyed finding new recipes and was a good cook.
Laurie had a big heart and was known by her friends and family sharing whatever she had. She was outgoing and enjoyed many friends.
Her extended family includes nieces and nephews Jaclyn Gifford, Blake Tillman, Leslie Shaw, Ashton Walton, Alayna Reta, Audra Davidson, and Sam Howell. She was such a proud aunt and enjoyed being with her family.
