Alberta Mae Grosbach, 88, of Mcpherson, Kanas, passed away at 8:35 p.m., Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 at Cedars Health Care Center. Alberta was born in Quinter, Kansas on July 6, 1933, a daughter of Nora Ellen (Bowman) and Samuel Sylvester Ebbert. Alberta attended Quinter grade school and graduated from Quinter High School, Quinter, Kansas in 1951. She then attended McPherson College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in home economics in 1955. She was a member of Enders Church of the Brethren, Enders, Nebraska. and in later years she was a member of Church of the Brethren in McPherson. Alberta enjoyed quilting, making sweet rolls, loved her church family and McPherson College, was very involved in special education and loved spending time with her friends and family. Alberta Mae Ebbert was united in marriage to Ronald Eugene Grosbach on Aug. 20, 1954 in Quinter, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. In 1955 they established their home in Enders, NE. They farmed together there until 1988, when Ron passed away. The couple was blessed with the birth of five sons, Dale, Norman, Lyle, Roy and Gary. Alberta continued to reside in Enders until she retired to McPherson in 2017. She is survived by her children Dale Grosbach and his wife Deborah of Gladstone, Missouri, Norman Grosbach and his wife Alice of Gilbert, Arizona, Lyle Grosbach and his wife Cynthia of Rochester, Minnesota, Roy Grosbach and his wife Betty Jo of Evergreen, Colorado and Gary Grosbach of McCook, Nebraska. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren Bryan, Alan, Melanie, Daniel, Jennifer, Adam, Andrew, Matthew, Nora, Olivia and Paula and four great-grandchildren Galina, Emma, Hazel and Lily. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Kurtz, Bernard and Charles and her sister Bernadine. Judy’s life began on July 27, 1961, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was the daughter of Gene Gerard and Dessie Parthenia (Dean) Bickford. 

Judy had been employed by Barkman Honey Co. in Hillsboro and previously had worked for Scotch Cleaners. She is remembered for her love of her flowers and gardening. Judy was a faithful volunteer for the Marion County Toy Run. She enjoyed cross stitch and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Her loving family includes her longtime partner Robert Thornhill of Ramona; daughter Chelsea (Andrew) Weber of Cedar Point; grandchildren Tucker and Paul Weber and Abigail Smith; and her siblings Joe (Marci) Bickford and Roy (Kaiping) Bickford, both of Lawrence. 

Judy passed away on Friday June 24, 2022, at the Hillsboro Community Hospital. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Jessica Smith. 

A private family celebration will be held, and she will be laid to rest in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona. Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family.

LeRoy J&nbsp; “Roy” Steckline, age 91, of 
Ogallah, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at Trego Lemke&nbsp; 
Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas. Roy graduated from Ellis High 
School. On April 25, 1955, he married Jacqueline (Ferland) in Damar, 
Kansas.

Roy was a hardworking man who farmed 
until 1997 and worked as a substitute mail carrier as well as a Trego 
County rural fireman. He was a US Army veteran serving with the 3rd 
infantry in the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic 
Church, Ellis VFW, and Ellis Knights of Columbus. Roy enjoyed decorating
 and landscaping with antiques, flowers, and rock arrangements, 
Refurbishing and repurposing antiques and nick knacks, Spending hours 
metal detecting and letting the kids dig up the treasure, Spending time 
with family, singing, and especially reading poems and stories to all of
 his little ones.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie 
Steckline of Ogallah; his children, Darryl Steckline of Ogallah, Jeanne 
Werth (James) of Pueblo CO, Sandy Bittel (Kevin) of Highlands Ranch CO, 
Brenda Zemanick (Mike) of Inman, SC, Ron Steckline (Cynthia) of 
Claremore OK, Lori Dechant (Ray) of Dodge City, LaVon Wagoner (Tony) of 
Paola KS, Amy Choitz (Justin) of Hays, a brother, Don Steckline&nbsp; of 
Hays; 17 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Curtis Dechant and a granddaughter, Emily Werth.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday,
 June 28, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis with Fr. Dana 
Clark officiating. Burial will be 1:30 PM at the Kansas State Veterans' 
Cemetery in WaKeeney.

Visitation will be Monday 6 PM - 8 PM and Tuesday 9 AM until service time all at the church.

A combined rosary and vigil will be 7 PM Monday at the church.

Margaret Ann (Dickinson) Pruitt, 94, Kansas City, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

She was born February 9,1928 to John and Neva (Cooper) Dickinson of Glen Elder, KS. She graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1946. On January 26, 1947, she married Lloyd Pruitt and they made their home on farm near Barnard, KS. They were blessed to be married for 71 years.

Margaret served as church pianist at age 14 in Glen Elder Methodist Church. During World War II and while still a senior in High School, the Glen Elder School Board asked Margaret to serve as the music teacher to other high school students. Her pay at the end of the year was a lapel pin. Margaret was highly active in the Ada Methodist Church where she was the organist and Sunday school teacher. When she and Lloyd retired to Bella Vista, AR, she continued to offer her musical talents as organist at Bella Vista Christian Church. She remained faithful in her music service to the Lord for 67 years.

In 1989, Margaret was crowned Ms. Senior Bella Vista. Later that year, she was fourth runner-up in the Ms. Senior Arkansas Pageant.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brother Max, sister Joan and husband Lloyd.

Margaret was a loving mother to her four children: John (Marilyn) of Lenexa, KS, Kathy (Dan) of Kansas City, MO, Tom (Joni) of McPherson, KS and Joni of Little Rock, AR. She was blessed by her ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janice (Jim) of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. June 29, 2022, at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Ada, KS. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28th at the funeral home.

Marlyn Sue Romm, 82, Bennington, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was born on April 3, 1940, in Salina, KS to Fred and Viola (Nisbeth) Hamilton.

Marlyn married Charles N. Romm, Sr. on August 1, 1958, at Calvary Baptist Church in Salina. They were married for 60 years and had three children: Connie, Beth, and Charles, Jr. Marlyn faithfully served her Lord by playing piano at Faith Baptist Church in Salina.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Romm, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law Connie and David Hefner; her parents; and sisters Patsy and Twila.

Survivors are her children Elizabeth (Mark) Gragg and Charles Romm, Jr. (Nancy); 19 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery.

Eunice&nbsp;Agnes&nbsp;Hamel, age 87,&nbsp;former Hays, Kansas, resident&nbsp;died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at her home in Russell, Kansas.

She was born May&nbsp;29, 1935, in Damar, Kansas, to Armond Ernest and Ruby Amanda (Thibault) Newell. &nbsp;She married Robert Wilford Hamel on September 13, 1953, at Damar. &nbsp;He preceded her in death&nbsp;on January 29, 1978.

She worked at K-Mart in Hays for a number of years then worked at Wal-Mart for 28 years. &nbsp;Eunice grew up in Damar, and was a 1953 Graduate of Damar High School then attended the North Central Kansas Technical College&nbsp;in Beloit, Kansas. &nbsp;She moved from Wyoming to Hays in 1984, and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. &nbsp;She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, computer games, KU sports, the Royals, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Survivors include her children, Cindy Berland, Damar, KS; Dean Hamel and wife, Cheryl, Thornton, CO; Bruce&nbsp;Hamel and Danny Keosythong, Russell, KS; her son-in-law, Danny Phillips and wife, Vera, Salina, KS; her 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; her brothers, Vincent Newell and wife, Cindy, Hays, KS; and Bernard Newell and wife, Cynthia, Concordia, KS; her four sisters, Martha Hero, Broomfield, CO; Irma Laurin, Almena, KS; Theresa Thomas, Beloit, KS; Kathleen Krier and husband, Gary, Gypsum, KS; her sisters-in-law, Delores Newell, Damar, KS; Lyla Newell, Beloit, KS. Linnea Newell, Denver, CO; and her brother-in-law, Ronald Dougherty, Salina, KS.

LaVonne A. Thomas, daughter of Anton Havel and Emma (Kauer) Havel Conn was born May 20, 1934 at Cuba, Kansas and passed away on June 23, 2022 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 88.

LaVonne graduated from Belleville High School, Belleville, KS.

She was united in marriage to Clarence A. Thomas on June 17, 1956 and to this union, one daughter, Susan, was born.&nbsp;&nbsp; They lived in Camarillo, California for many years.&nbsp; LaVonne worked in banking for many years, and was employed by the Bank of Alevy until her retirement.&nbsp;&nbsp; They moved back to Belleville, Kansas in 1987.&nbsp;&nbsp; LaVonne enjoyed her family and loved music and dancing.&nbsp; She was a member of the Beta Delphian Study Club of Belleville, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anton Havel and Emma (Kauer) Conn, husband Clarence Thomas, two sisters, Viola Drapel, Venis Dean Kasper, and one brother, Clarence Havel.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Montague of Salina, Kansas, two grandchildren, Catherine (Ernest) Lazo, Jason Montague, two great-grandchildren, Emma Lazo, William Lazo, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by Pastor Roger Walls.

Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to Saint Francis Christmas for Kids or Alzheimer’s Association.

Doris Maxine Spence was born February 16, 1926, in Cherryvale, Kansas, the daughter of Bert and Robbie Irene (Allen) Flood.&nbsp; She passed away June 23, 2022, at SunPorch of Dodge City, Dodge City, Kansas.

Maxine was raised in Cherryvale attending school there and graduating from Cherryvale High School.&nbsp; She then received her teaching certificate and taught for two years at a small country school before attending one year of college at Ottawa University, and one year at McPherson College.

Through the years, she worked at a defense plant during WWII.&nbsp; Other employment included cooking at Rockville School, driving a bus for Rockville School, cook at Sandstone Heights, Little River, and head cook at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 11 years, Hutchinson, Kansas.&nbsp; Her favorite, though, was being a wife and mother.

She married Richard Spence October 19, 1947, at the First Baptist Church in McPherson.&nbsp; He died October 20, 2009.

James L. “Jim” Rehmert, 89, of Salina, Kan., passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was born on November 23, 1932, at Asherville, Kan., the son of Harry L. and Treca M. (Schaffer) Rehmert. 

He married Barbara Joan Slate on June 5, 1952, and to this union three children were born.

Jim went to schools in Asherville and Beloit. He served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers from 1953 to 1955, serving 18 months in Germany as a corporal running heavy equipment. He continued with his experience of running heavy equipment with the KS Dept. of Transportation beginning in 1952 in Beloit and transferring to Mankato in Dec. 1955. Jim retired as superintendent in 1994 after serving 41 years. He and his wife moved to Salina in 1997.

Jim was a fix-it man, always repairing everything that needed fixed. He enjoyed trapshooting in his younger years. He was a life member of the VFW at Mankato, a former member of Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, and a present member of University United Methodist Church, Salina, where he served as a trustee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Marvalee Nightingale; and his son-in-law.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Barbara Joan; sons Royce and Jon (Kimberly); daughter Ramona Stimson; grandson Micah Rehmert (Ellie); step-grandchildren Steven Phillips (Tasha) and Krystal Jarman (Ken); and step-great-grandchildren Karston and Harper Phillips.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, June 27, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with the family present from 5-7. Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Kevin Charles Burt, age 64, entered into rest on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; He was born on July 31, 1957 in Concordia, Kansas to Raymond and Berniece (Lewis) Burt.

Kevin grew up in Concordia, KS. He attended Norway Grade School during his youth and was a 1975 graduate of Concordia High School. Kevin graduated from Cloud County Community College, Concordia, Kansas. He then attended Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, MO where he received an associate in dngineering degree and HVAC certification. Kevin’s specialty was in HVAC, but his passion was as a mechanic.

Kevin worked for Hoechst Marion Roussel Pharmaceuticals as an operating engineer. 

He met Carol Diane Hansen at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO and they were married in November 1991. They separated in 2002.

Kevin met his lifelong partner, Terry Tibbetts, in late 2006. Kevin enjoyed listening to music, racing motorcycles, riding four wheelers with his girls, and enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing.

Kevin is preceded in death by George and Ethyl Burt, and Raymond and Berniece Burt.

Kevin is survived by his siblings Donna Susan Hodgins (John), Daryl Burt (Kathy), Dennis Burt (Rosemary), Marlin Burt (Genevieve), and Keith Burt (Phyllis); two children: Bailey Burt and Madison Burt; one grandchild, Hycle Miles, V; and partner Terry Tibbetts. Kevin was a loving father, grandfather, sibling, and friend and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, 11:00 a.m., June 27, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Burns Officiating.      Sherri worked as a CNA, a waitress, and a babysitter until her health prevented her from doing so. Then she cared for her mother for many years while in Oberlin, Kansas, following her parents to Lindsborg in 2005. She loved her nieces and nephews as well as visiting with her best friend, Donna, and her many friends at Blue Stem Pace. 

     Sherri was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Sandra; and brother Rick. 

     She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Marvin C. and Kris Walker and nephew Dylan Walker, all of Lindsborg; nephews Rick Walker and family of Louisburg, Mike Walker and family of Banks, Oregon, Andrew Walker; and niece Allyson Walker of Emporia,

Paul Dean Brown, 84, of Abilene, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022, at Abilene Memorial Hospital. Paul was born June 23, 1937, in Abilene, KS, the seventh of eight children born to Ray and Luella (Lyne) Brown. 

On July 28, 1967, he married Joyce Throne. They made their home in Abilene where they raised their two daughters. Paul graduated from Abilene High School in 1955.

During high school, he began working for Ronald Rice Motors in the autobody department. In 1963 Paul left Abilene to attend Miltonvale Wesleyan College where he studied theology and provided ministry for several small churches. Paul returned to Abilene in 1964 to work for Vacu-Blast. He and his family relocated to New Jersey in 1984 where he worked for Vacu-Blast International. The family returned to Abilene in 1985. Paul worked for CE/ABB Raymond, Midco Plastics, Custom Metal Fabricators, and Abrasive Blast until retiring. After retirement, Paul worked at Emmanuel Church for ten years. Throughout life, Paul enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. He was an avid fisherman and participated in league bowling for several years. One of Paul’s greatest joys in retirement was spending time with his great-grandsons. A man of faith, his lifelong love of the Lord led Paul to minister in nursing homes and prisons. Paul is survived by his wife Joyce; daughters Denise Thompson (Donnie) of Benton, KY, Darla Thompson (Mike Legan) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Dustin Thompson (Elizabeth) of Louisville, KY, Devin Thompson of Benton, KY, Heather Vanover (Kegan) of Hope, KS, and Lucas Thompson of Rock Springs, WY; three great-grandsons, Kyland Vanover, Koy Vanover, and Caleb Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, Vernon, and Gene; and three sisters, Margie Stoddart, Evelyn Whiteley, and Carol Albritton. One of Paul’s greatest joys in retirement was spending time with his great-grandsons. A man of faith, his lifelong love of the Lord led Paul to minister in nursing homes and prisons. Paul is survived by his wife Joyce; daughters Denise Thompson (Donnie) of Benton, KY, Darla Thompson (Mike Legan) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Dustin Thompson (Elizabeth) of Louisville, KY, Devin Thompson of Benton, KY, Heather Vanover (Kegan) of Hope, KS, and Lucas Thompson of Rock Springs, WY; three great-grandsons, Kyland Vanover, Koy Vanover, and Caleb Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, Vernon, and Gene; and three sisters, Margie Stoddart, Evelyn Whiteley, and Carol Albritton. McPherson - Mary Eunice Crown, daughter of Thomas L. and Martha E. (Cranford) Ensey, was born on May 5, 1923, in McKinney, Texas.&nbsp; On June 20, 2022, with family members present, Mary died in McPherson, KS, passing from this earthly life to her longed-for home in heaven.&nbsp;

She graduated from Carmen High School in Carmen, OK as the 1941 class valedictorian.&nbsp; She attended Central College and after graduating and spending her junior year at Greenville College in Greenville, IL, Central College offered her a bookkeeping job for the 1944-1945 school year.&nbsp; After that, she attended Seattle Pacific College in Seattle, WA, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1946.

Mary then returned to McPherson which remained her home for the rest of her life.&nbsp; From 1946 to 1949, she taught in Central’s business department and during these years, she met her life partner, Milan Wesley Crown, and they were married in 1949.

After taking a break from teaching to raise their family of three sons, she took the secretary job to the academic dean at Central College and eventually became the college registrar from which position she retired in 1989.

Milan’s sudden, unexpected death in March, 1973, shocked Mary and her sons.&nbsp; Mary’s faith that God would walk beside her family through the valley of death never wavered.&nbsp; She faithfully attended the Free Methodist Church for as long as she could.&nbsp;

Mary took up quilting and produced three beautiful quilts that her sons and spouses received on their wedding day, but she didn’t stop with her sons.&nbsp; Many lucky folks received the blessings of one of Mary’s quilted wall hangings.

Survivors include her sons Ronald Wesley Crown (Annerose) of Crestwood, MO, Stanley Joel Crown (Bernice) of High Ridge, MO, and Dwight David Crown (Lori) of McPherson, KS; grandchildren Thomas Crown (Sara) of Overland Park, KS, Rebekah Collins (Kyle) of Webster Groves, MO, Joel Crown (Stephanie) of High Ridge, MO, Hannah Crown of New York, NY, Brad Crown (Megan) of McPherson, KS, and Tyler Crown (Mollie) of Colorado Springs, CO; and a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Milan; brother Thomas Cranford Ensey; stepsisters Lois Hanson, Mattie Lee Harrell, and Hazel Trawick; and stepbrothers Clarence Ensey, Willis Ensey, and Lee Ensey.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Betty Jane Gwinner, 100, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellsworth. She was born November 8, 1921, in Ellsworth to Charles and Mary (Fisher) Grubb. 

Betty was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth where she married Robert Charles Gwinner on May 26, 1946. 

She was a secretary for the local SRS office for 27 years. Betty was a 79 year member of Eastern Star, member of P.E.O. since 1965, and member of the Ellsworth First Presbyterian Church since March 28, 1937, the longest membership in the church congregation.

Betty is survived by her son Craig Gwinner (Brenda) of Wharton, TX; daughter Nan Wooten (Coy) of Ellsworth; grandchildren Kim Sheffield (Brent) of Allen, TX, Chase Gwinner (Brittany) of College Station, TX, Lindsey Renard (Tyler) of Ellsworth, Jackie Patterson (Doug) of Kingman, AZ, and Shelby Urban (Chris Pfifer) of Long Beach, CA; and great-grandchildren Skylar, Samantha, Avery, Allison, Willie, Stevie, Andrew, Addisyn, Bryton, and Kinzleigh. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother John Grubb; and husband Robert Charles Gwinner.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2022, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Margaret married Larry Houk on March 9, 1963. After Larry’s passing June 12, she later married Jerry Pierson on August 24, 1972. 

Margaret was a longtime employee of the United States Postal Service where she had many positions including mail carrier for many years. She loved to fish, play bingo, and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her son Larry Houk, Jr. (Dani) of Ellsworth; daughters Shamarie Farthing (Chris) of Ellsworth and Christy Pierson of Salina; grandchildren Katie Ranker (Joe) of Ellsworth, Kourtney Strobel (Chas) of Plymouth, MN, Kitsy Krehbiel (Colter) of Marquette, Kylie Pierson of Wichita Falls, TX, Kori Pierson of Salina, and Sam Farthing (Kaitlyn) of Hays; and great-grandchildren Henri, John, Abel, Kadence, Beckham, Lane, Kelli, Korbin, Kreighton, and Aria.

Carol J. Jones, age 82, entered into rest on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas.She was born October 29, 1939 on the family farm in Colby, Kansas to Henry P. and Jewell E. (Miller) Marcotte.

Carol was a graduate of Sherman High in Goodland, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;She married Verlyn Trueblood, August 15, 1957 in Goodland, Kansas and they later divorced.&nbsp;&nbsp;She married Gerald Jones on April 17, 1994 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;He preceded her in death on September 9, 2019.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Ladies of the Elks both of Concordia.&nbsp;&nbsp;Her hobbies include, crocheting, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with her family.

Carol worked for Hallmark Cards, Emporia, Kansas; Fitzgerald Ace Hardware, Blade Empire, Western Power, and was a Sales Clerk for F&amp;A Food Sales all of Concordia.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jewell Willoughby and Jennifer Trueblood of Concordia, KS.; step-daughter, Debra Jasperson (Randy), Newton, KS.; Step-son, Jason Jones, Concordia, KS.; one sister, Pearlie Chadwick, Delores, CO.; five grandchildren, Heather, Starla, Elizabeth, Kyle, and Kevin; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, parents, Henry and Jewell, five sisters, Marge McCants, Dorothy Gilbert, Betty Goodhue, Elizabeth Stull, and Shirley Scott.

Dorothy A. Kohls, 99, of Salina, Kan., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born in Pawnee, Okla., to Stuart and Beulah (Buford) Lucas on June 18, 1922.

In 1940, she married Alfred A. Kohls, and they shared 61 years of marriage together and had four children.

She was a farmer’s wife and helper for 25 years in Chase County, then resided in Marion County for 25 years before moving to Salina in 1990 for her husband’s dialysis treatments.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alfred A. Kohls; son Roger W. Kohls Sr.; brothers Ronald, Lyle, and Clifford Lucas; sisters Wanda Feldhut, Betty Crank, and Shirley Burkholder; and son-in-law Dennis Maddox.

She is survived by her children A.W. Kohls (formerly of Salina) and Sonja Maddox, both of rural Chase County, and Barbara Reyer, of Rose Hill; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren, which spanned five generations in her lifetime.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina. Inurnment will be in Elk Cemetery, Chase County, Kan.

Kohls, 99, of Salina, Kan., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born in Pawnee, Okla., to Stuart and Beulah (Buford) Lucas on June 18, 1922.In 1940, she married Alfred A. Kohls, and they shared 61 years of marriage together and had four children.She was a farmer’s wife and helper for 25 years in Chase County, then resided in Marion County for 25 years before moving to Salina in 1990 for her husband’s dialysis treatments.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alfred A. Kohls; son Roger W. Kohls Sr.; brothers Ronald, Lyle, and Clifford Lucas; sisters Wanda Feldhut, Betty Crank, and Shirley Burkholder; and son-in-law Dennis Maddox.She is survived by her children A.W. Kohls (formerly of Salina) and Sonja Maddox, both of rural Chase County, and Barbara Reyer, of Rose Hill; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren, which spanned five generations in her lifetime.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina. Inurnment will be in Elk Cemetery, Chase County, Kan.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rebecca A. Morrison House of SRHC, or to the family, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
