Robert Alfred Deterding was born February 29, 1940, in Hebron, Nebraska, to Richard and Ella (Loontjer) Deterding.&nbsp; He died October 8, 2022, at the age of 82.

Bob, as he was known to all, grew up on the family farm located between Deshler and Hebron, Nebraska.&nbsp; He attended school in Deshler and graduated from Deshler High School in 1958.

Bob was united in marriage to Judith Ann Philippi of Bruning, Nebraska, on February 14, 1960.&nbsp; They made their home in Geneva, Nebraska, until 1970 when the family moved to Belleville.&nbsp; Bob and Judy were parents to a daughter and four sons.&nbsp;

Over the years, armed with an incredible work ethic, Bob worked in heavy construction, livestock feed sales and completed his professional career retiring from The Belleville Telescope where he worked with the Farmer Stockman publication.

Bob’s hobby was woodworking.&nbsp; Following his retirement, Bob liked building furniture, remodeling homes and doing miscellaneous projects for others.&nbsp; Bob also enjoyed traveling in his RV and took many trips as the opportunities arose.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, of 58 years; his parents Richard and Ella (Loontjer) Deterding, and his brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Shirley Deterding.

Survivors include his children Bruce (Julie) Deterding of Wichita, Kansas; Lori Greene of Wichita, Kansas; Mark (Tammy) Deterding of Hays, Kansas; Todd (Christine) Deterding of Lindsborg, Kansas; Brian (Melanie) Deterding of Greensburg, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his second love, Kathy Johnson.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 14th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the American Lutheran Church in Belleville. Burial will follow at the Belleville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13th, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to American Lutheran Church of Belleville, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

My sweet and loving Daddy gained his wings and was reunited with the absolute love of his life. Melvin R. Neufeld joined his beautiful wife, Barbara J. Neufeld, as well as my hilarious husband, Robert F. Heinz. I’m positive they welcomed Daddy with open arms and huge smiles on their faces. No doubt Rob whipped up a culinary masterpiece for them.

After Mom’s passing in May 2013, Dad moved out of our home of 32 years into the Devonshire Retirement Community where he made countless friends and many fond memories. After all, Daddy didn’t meet a stranger! He was especially fond of Lenny, Frank and BJ. They were the 4 Musketeers! When we spoke on the phone, I’d love his stories about their shenanigans together. Ms. Liz Green was near and dear to Dad’s heart, too. He was always so grateful for his friendship with her and felt blessed to be treated so well by her family.

I was unapologetic about being a Daddy’s girl. He would tell anyone who’d listen that every man should be blessed with a baby girl. Growing up, if he was leaving the house, I went with him!

My childhood was idyllic. Both Mom and Dad made holidays, special occasions and even boring every day life memorable. We all loved Disney World and vacationed there countless times. Dad often said he wished he’d kept track of our trips to see the Mouse where being a kid was embraced.

My love of photography and capturing “moments” came directly from Dad. There was nothing better than our family nights going through the slides projected onto the screen from pictures that Dad had taken of us. Oh, the stories and memories I have!

Sadly, his health deteriorated in the last month of his Life. He was found unresponsive at the Devonshire on September 18th, and was hospitalized. Ultimately, he went to the ICU intubated with a central line. He’d suffered a mild stroke and had lost mobility on his right side. He rallied, though, in true fashion. I will forever be grateful for the time that I spent with him in September.

He passed away shortly after being discharged and transferred to rehab. He had disclosed to me while spending time together in the hospital that he was ready to go. I wasn’t ready to hear that, but I know he just wanted to see Mom.

Per his wish, I laid him peacefully to rest yesterday, October 10th, at 9 a.m. in the Hoffnungsau Cemetery. 

In addition to Mom, Daddy has joined his parents, John and Elizabeth Neufeld (my dear Granny and Grandpy), as well as his beloved Uncle Pete Schroeder.

Yesterday was a Chamber of Commerce weather day. He would have said it was “wonderful!” His favorite hymns were played. My best friend, Jessica, was there to make saying my final Earthly farewell bearable. Daddy always commented how grateful he was that I have such dear friends who have become my family. I got that quality of making lasting relationships from him.

Jim was born on September 16, 1945, in Newton, KS, the son of Strozier Albin and Lavina May (Dillon) Hulsey.&nbsp; 

He graduated from Galva High School in 1963.&nbsp; 

On March 9, 1966, Jim was united in&nbsp; marriage to Penny Lin Helgeson in Galva, KS.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on February 10, 2016.&nbsp;

Survivors include: two daughters, Sonya Allen (Scott) of Lawrence, KS and Patti Javener (Andy) of Topeka, KS; a brother, Tommy Hulsey (Pam) of McPherson, KS; five grandchildren, Danielle Cowan (Kim), Abbi Hess, Darian Hess, Avery Allen, and Katie Allen; one great-granddaughter, Ava Rose Hess; sisters-in-law Sandra Blair (Bill) of Galva, KS, Anita Walters (Steve) of Galva, KS, and Debbie Hulsey of McPherson, KS; brother-in-law Brian Helgeson (Gina) of Canton, KS; and many extended family and friends.

Mildred Almetta Fehlman, age 96, died October 10, 2022, at the Chapman Valley Manor, Chapman, KS. She was born October 24, 1925, to Albert and Selma (Sylvester) Nitsche in Riley, KS.

 Mildred spent her childhood in the Riley area.&nbsp; She graduated from Riley High School in 1943.&nbsp; 

Mildred worked on the family farm as well as helped take care of other family and children. She spent a small amount of time as a young woman working at the elevator.

 Mildred married Harold Fehlman on August 24, 1950. They made their home on Harold’s family homestead in Wakefield, where they stayed their entire marriage. 

Mildred was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, EHU, and the Priscilla Club.&nbsp; She spent many years as a 4-H and Project Leader. Her family received the Kansas 4-H Family of the Year award in 1984. Mildred was an avid quilter and enjoyed sewing and knitting. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Alberta and Warren Hofmann; and a step-granddaughter, Alicia Fehlman.

Ann Blanding Wolting, daughter of Albert and Merle (Mesick) Blanding, was born on March 15, 1928 in Beloit, Kansas. She died at Lincoln Park Manor in Lincoln, Kansas on October 10, 2022 at the age of 94.&nbsp;

Ann and her husband Delmar Wolting were united in marriage on June 16, 1946 at her family's farm.&nbsp;

They enjoyed farming together until Delmar was nearly 90 years old and Ann was 85 years.&nbsp; Ann loved all music and wrote many harmonic parts for her four daughters to enjoy singing for many functions.&nbsp; She was an expert seamstress, and sewed many girls’ dresses including four wedding dresses.

Her daughters are Gaye (Wichita), Joy (Salina), Leanne (Lincoln) and Bridget (Deceased).&nbsp; The blessing of 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren was enjoyed.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14 at the Barnard Methodist Church. Visitation will be from noon until the service begins at the church. Memorials may be given to the church.

Geneva Lorraine Pearson, daughter of Terrance and Eliza Studer Campbell, was born June 21, 1919 on a farm in Southwest Mitchell County.&nbsp; She left her earthly home on October 7, 2022 at the Mitchell County Hospital at the age of 103.

Geneva attended Elmira Grade School, followed by Beloit High School, graduating with the class of 1937.&nbsp; Following graduation, she worked at the ASC office in Beloit.

Geneva was united in marriage to Delmar L. Pearson October 12, 1941.&nbsp; She and Delmar relocated to Wichita to work in airplane factories, Geneva working at Beach, Boeing and Cessna.&nbsp; She was a true-life Rosie the Riveter, working on B29 bombers during World War II.&nbsp;

In 1946, they returned to the family farm in Center Township.&nbsp; Geneva was an accomplished farm wife. She was a remarkable cook, always on the look-out for a new tasty-sounding recipe.&nbsp; Her dinner rolls and pies were a mouth-watering treat to many lucky folks!

Geneva belonged to several local clubs, among them the Waconda Chapter of the Kansas Anthropological Association.&nbsp; She enjoyed many field trips to area museums. She was interested in history and genealogy.&nbsp; She loved to travel. Geneva appreciated the written word, reading newspapers and magazines cover to cover until the very end.

She was an avid crafter, producing beautiful quilts, embroidered and crocheted projects.&nbsp; She enjoyed picking wild plums and gooseberries and making jams.&nbsp; She loved feeding birds and gardening.&nbsp; Geneva took delight in farm cats, who grew plump from her tasty leftovers.

Geneva was able to live in her own home until age 101, when illness necessitated a move to the Nicol Home in Glasco, KS.&nbsp;

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Delmar, brother Clifford Campbell, and his wife Faye, brother-in-law Carl Pearson and his wife, Catherine, and her great-niece Amy Pearson.

She is survived by her sons, Bill, of Denver, CO, and Gail (Robin), of Beloit; grandchildren Justin Pearson, Sarah Stevenson (Aaron), Andrew Pearson, Daphne Chapman (Brian), and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

On Tuesday, October 11th, Daniel (Dan) Lee Jones passed away in Abilene, Kansas. 

He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He was 73. 

Dan was born to Harry and Margaret Jones on October 24, 1948 in Junction City, KS. He lived for many years in Enterprise until his family moved to Chapman when he was in middle school. His family were members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Chapman. 

In 1966, he graduated from Dickinson County Community High School. He attended Kansas State Technical Institute in Salina and received an associate's degree in airframe and powerplant as well as computer science. 

He married Christine (Chris) Schlesener on July 29, 1974. 

Together, Dan and Chris moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma and worked for Applied Automation which was later acquired by ABB.&nbsp;He worked as a computer systems analyst for 37 years until he retired in 2011. 

He was proud of the work he did and he valued the relationships and friendships he formed along the way. His main goal was to make everyone else's job easier. In 2016, Dan and Chris moved full-time to their lake home on Grand Lake in Jay, Oklahoma. Dan enjoyed fixing up this home for his family and friends and always had a to-do list with many projects. He was a man with many hidden talents from working on cars, to electrical and plumbing. There was never a task that he wouldn’t try. Dan also loved fishing, hunting, and sightseeing at Grand Lake but his true love was spending time with his daughters and granddaughters. There was never a play, performance, or athletic competition that he missed. When his daughters were growing up, he could be found volunteering his time coaching many youth sports teams in the Bartlesville area including Washington County and Blazer ASA Softball. He also coached many YMCA and AAU Basketball teams. He was passionate about teaching everyone to play the game the correct way and believed that so many life lessons could be learned by playing sports. He loved his alma mater, The Chapman Irish, and would be seen and heard at many sporting events loudly cheering them on. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Mike Dalton.

He is survived by his wife Chris of 48 years; his daughters Dr. Stacy Jones of Salina, KS and Sara (Kyle) Cook and granddaughters Callie and Madison Cook of Chapman, KS. He is also survived by his sisters Diane Dolton of Salina, KS and Kathy Riffel of Topeka, KS as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Chapman, KS from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 17 at 10 a.m. at St.&nbsp;Michael’s followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chapman.

Dan always stressed the importance of giving back to others in the community. Delmar Paul Curran, born March 28, 1932, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Rose Ella Strunk Curran, his son Steve Curran (Jennifer), daughter Pam (Jack) Sims, nine grandchildren (Jessi, Charlie, Jodi, Beth, John, Ted, Martha, Mattie, Julian), and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents Bryan and Marie and siblings Robert, Harold, Dorothy, Marvin, Mary Lou, Duane, and Delores Curran.

Delmar was raised in the Buckeye Community and married Rose Ella in Abilene. 

He started working for Abilene Flour Mills during his high school years and then was transferred to Kansas City as a professional miller for ADM Milling in 1972. After a 47-year career in milling, he and Rosie retired back to Abilene. He achieved emeritus status as a member of the Association of Operative Millers. After retirement he farmed for the Wilson Family Farm well into his '80s.

Delmar and Rosie have been passionate supporters of the Abilene and Dickinson County communities. He has served as president of Kiwanis, life-long member and a trustee of the Elks organization, volunteered at the Abilene Hospital, sat on the board at the Abilene Library, and has supported the Dickinson County Community Foundation since its inception.

Delmar had a calming presence, a welcoming personality and was instantly loved by everyone he met. His empathy for others held no bounds. He has touched all of our hearts and has left an imprint that will last forever on our souls.

Delmar’s family will have a casual openhouse Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Elk's Lodge in Abilene.

Mary graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. She was very involved in the Catholic Diocese, spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Her favorite pastimes include playing cards, sewing, cooking and baking for family events.

She retired from B&amp;S Saw &amp; Tool Service after 33 years.

On April 4, 1959, Mary married Ralph Boor in Salina, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband Ralph Boor; two daughters, Laurie Donmyer, of Salina, Kansas, Cindy Loy, of Beloit, Kansas; three grandchildren, Ethan Loy (Dani), of Shawnee, Kansas, Zach Loy, of Salina, Kansas, Danielle Donmyer, of Mission, Kansas; three great-granddaughters, Joelle Loy, Kaiya Loy, Ava Loy; brother Ed Berigan, of Salina, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim Berigan, Bennie Berigan, William Berigan; and sister Judy Barkley.

Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory in Salina, with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 14th at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina, Kansas with Fr. Fred Gatschet officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Salina.

Lynn Jo Grabner, 69, of Salina passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lynn was born in Salina, Kansas on December 25, 1952, the daughter of the late Jay and Joan (Siler) Rexroad.

Lynn completed her bachelor’s degree in education at Kansas State University, where she was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

After college, Lynn returned to Salina to begin her teaching career which lasted over 35 years. She began teaching at Hawthorne Elementary, though she spent most of her career at Heusner Elementary until she fully retired in 2014. She loved teaching, and she cherished the many friends she made along the way.

Lynn married Rodney Grabner in Salina on April 19, 1980. They were happily married for 31 years until Rodney preceded her in death in 2011. 

Lynn is survived by her two children, son Matthew (Ashley) Grabner of Austin, Texas; daughter Emily (Dylan) Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah; her two grandchildren Owen Johnson and Keeley Grabner; other extended family; and lifelong friends.

Lynn loved being a mom and raising her family on Applewood Lane. As their children grew up, Lynn and Rodney typically spent weekends year-round attending Matt and Emily’s various sporting events – times the family remembered fondly. Whether in sports or life, Lynn was always her kids’ biggest fan.

Lynn was a talented quilter and sewer, a passion she continued throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with friends, especially at the lake or one of their favorite local hangouts. Lynn also enjoyed visiting her children in their respective cities, and she especially loved the arrival of her grandchildren, Owen in 2019 and Keeley in 2022. She was a life-long member of Christ Cathedral and spent many years serving on the Altar Guild.

Lynn was a wonderful mother and grandmother; she touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Christ Cathedral in Salina.

Internment will take place at Gypsum Hill Cemetery following the funeral.

She was a graduate of Aurora High School and on December 30, 1946, she was united in marriage with Paul J. Blochlinger. They moved to Minneapolis in 1962. Lela worked various jobs throughout her life, but she was known for her excellent seamstress work that she did for many years.

Lela was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic of Council Women, American Legion, and she was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Auxiliary #3201.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Bernard, Medore, Norine, and John; husband Paul; and son Randal.

Survivors are her children Gene, Judy, Debbie, Kevin, and Kelly; 13 grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

James Francis Jarvis&nbsp;- beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend - passed away in his sleep in Salina, Kansas on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022. He is preceded by: his parents, his wife Kay, his daughter Lynn, and his grandson Jake. He is survived by: his son Doug, his grandchildren Ashley, James (Alicia), and Alexis, five great grandchildren, and Dr. Rafael de’Sa.

Jim was born to W. K. and Frances Jarvis in Salina, Kansas on February 12th, 1936. He graduated from Salina High in 1954 before attending Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, where he met his wife Kay (Douglass) Jarvis, and graduated in 1979 after a lengthy break.

Jim served 23 with the Kansas National Guard retiring as a Major, had a 45 year career operating Jarvis Tox-Eol Termite Service, and a 55 year career as a dedicated Landlord.

Jim and Kay married on September 7th, 1958 and celebrated 61 wonderful years together. They welcomed their first child, Lynn, in December of 1960, and their son Doug, in December of 1962. Jim was a lifetime resident of Salina, Kansas, and cradle to the grave at the First United Methodist Church.

Jim enjoyed working, volunteering, watching sports, outdoorsmanship, spending time with family, and most of all, because he never met a stranger, sharing a joke or a story with anyone who would listen.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20th, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 21st, at Salina First United Methodist Church, with graveside service immediately following in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Born in Courtland, Kansas, to Howard and Edna Barber on July 15, 1927,&nbsp; she was raised on the family farm in Republic County Kansas. Jean 
graduated from Courtland High School in Courtland, Kansas.&nbsp; She attended
 Brown Mackie Business School and was a receptionist for Great Plains 
Insurance Company in Salina, Kansas.

Jean was a member of the Salina Methodist Church and there she met 
and married her husband, Dean. “Dean and Jean” moved to Manhattan, 
Kansas for Dean to attend Kansas State University and where Jean became a
 member of the “Dames Club” of K-State. Jean became a full-time 
homemaker when their son Steven was born.

Jean loved sewing, embroidery, quilting, ceramics and various other 
arts and crafts. She also loved plants and took special pride in her 
vegetable garden. Jean will be remembered as a loving and caring mother 
and grandmother.

Jean was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and previously a 
member of the United Methodist Women (UMW) and Circle and is presently a
 member of the Friendswood United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held at Crowder Funeral Home in League City 
October 13, 2022, at 1:30 pm, Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 pm. Jean 
will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston Texas.

Craig Alan Rahman, 68 years old, passed away unexpectedly on October

Arnold and Betty Lou (Beardsley) Rahman on October 20, 1953, in Salina, 
Kansas.&nbsp; He moved to Helena, Montana, until his teenage years, then 
finished high school in Beach, North Dakota, where he excelled in math, 
skipped a grade, graduated early and served the United States Marine 
Corps from 1969-1971, during the Vietnam era.&nbsp; He met his bride Leita 
Loretta (Drake) Rahman and they had three boys, Craig Alan Jr, Curtis 
Ross, and Christian Andrew.&nbsp;

=Craig worked at Rocky Mountain Title as Title Officer in Casper 
for over 31 years, where his natural talent and ability to run title 
chains and discern land ownerships made him one of the top land men in 
Wyoming.&nbsp; Craig loved to ride motorcycles, loved classic rock and roll, 
and always supported his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.&nbsp;

=Craig is survived by his sons Craig Alan Jr. and Curtis Ross, his 
mother Betty Lou (Beardsley) Rahman, his sisters Barbara, Susan, and 
Brenda and his Rocky Mountain Title family.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by
 his son Christian Andrew, his wife, Leita Rahman, and his father, 
Arnold Rahman.&nbsp; Craig was a dedicated husband and father.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 S. 
Conwell on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm.&nbsp; Memorial
