Galen “Gus” E. Koehn, 68, died on February 11, 2023, at the Presbyterian Manor, in Newton, Kansas. He was born on September 26, 1954, to Gilbert E. and Irene (Hostetler) Koehn. He attended Hesston schools and graduated from Hesston High School in 1972.

Following graduation, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. After resigning from the railroad, he worked various jobs in the aircraft industry. He is survived by his daughter Marie Koehn, her husband Justin Key, Oklahoma City, OK; son Dustin, his wife Cassie, of Newton, KS; granddaughters Lakyn and Kinzie; and brother Gary, his wife Donna, of Hesston. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Hesston City Cemetery, with a light lunch following at Whitestone Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newton Presbyterian Manor (marked “Employee Christmas Fund”), in care of the Miller-Ott Funeral Home, P.O. Box 32, Hesston, KS 67062.
