On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at about 1:19 AM, Officers of the Salina Police Department were dispatched to Chuck’s, 600 N. Santa Fe, in reference to a disturbance where a subject had a knife. Upon arrival, officers located blood inside and outside the bar. Witnesses reported several subjects being stabbed and had driven themselves to the hospital.

A suspect description had been provided, and a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper observed a subject matching the description fleeing from the area on foot. Law enforcement officers located the subject several blocks from the bar and took the subject into custody without incident. The subject was identified as Dylan Michael Henning, 21-years-old, of Salina.

Law enforcement officers were then advised that two victims with stab wounds had arrived at the hospital for treatment. A 24-year-old male of Salina received one stab wound and was admitted to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. A 27-year-old male of Salina had three stab wounds and was treated and released.

The investigation determined that the disturbance began in the bar when Henning and a female associate were removed from the bar. While outside the bar, the disturbance continued when Henning is alleged to have produced a knife and stabbed the victims before fleeing the area. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

Henning was booked into the Saline County Jail in reference four counts of Aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon, felony Interference and one count of Disorderly Conduct.

The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Salina Police Department.

Letters to the editor are generally found in the first section of the newspaper, or towards the beginning of a magazine, or in the editorial page. They can take a position for or against an issue, or simply inform, or both. They can convince readers by using emotions, or facts, or emotions and facts combined. 

Letters to the editor are usually short and tight, rarely longer than 300 words.

Using a few carefully placed letters, you can generate plenty of community discussion. You can also keep an issue going by preventing it from disappearing from the public eye. You can stimulate the interest of the news media and create more coverage for the matters you're working on. The Salina League of Women Voters held its 2024 General Election Forum on Oct. 20 at 1:30 in the Watson Room at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina.

Cope Notes is a text message-based service that provides individuals with randomly timed messages that contain anything from psychology facts to exercises and journaling prompts. Every subscriber’s text sequence is unique so that no two users ever receive the same message at the same time. 

Each <a href="https://copenotes.com/">Cope Notes</a> text must first undergo a thorough review process by a panel of peer-support advocates and mental health professionals, in order to ensure that the messages will have a positive effect on the subscriber’s health. The ultimate goal of the service is to train the brain to disrupt negative thoughts and promote a more positive pattern of thinking.

"We believe in the importance of mental health. We want to ensure our residents have access to the resources they need to stay healthy and thriving," said Saline County Health Officer Jason Tiller. "In my own personal experience with Cope Notes, I have found that the right messages seem to come at exactly the right time. It was been an uplifting experience for me, and I am thrilled we get to continue this service to our residents."

In 2022, Saline County initially offered the service for free to 300 residents. Because of the overwhelming response and in an effort to provide the service to more Saline County residents, the program is being offered at a 50 percent discount, according to information from the county.

Saline County continues to offer Cope Notes at 50-percent discount

Not seeing precipitation totals from your area after a rain or snow event? Consider becoming a CoCoRaHS volunteer.

"CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive website, our aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications," the organization noted on its website.

After rain, hail, or snow storms, CoCoRaHS volunteers take precipitation measurements. Those totals are then recorded on the CoCoRaHS&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cocorahs.org/ViewData/StateDailyPrecipReports.aspx?state=KS">website</a>&nbsp;(Kansas reporting).

The precipitation totals are used by various organizations and individuals, including the National Weather Service, other meteorologists, hydrologists, emergency managers, insurance adjusters, farmers and ranchers, and, of course, Salina Post.

Precipitation reporting organization seeks local, area volunteers

What’s worse than a bogus charity? A bogus charity with a dishonest fundraiser. The FTC has sued and stopped dishonest charity fundraisers that&nbsp;<a href="https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2020/09/spot-and-stop-dishonest-charity-fundraisers">called people</a>&nbsp;to get them to donate to fake charities. Some prey on your kindness and desire to help people impacted by weather emergencies or a disaster. But when you get a call from a charity fundraiser, how do you know the caller is telling you the truth?

Ask the caller specific questions.

What is the charity’s name, phone number, or address? Write these down so you can confirm them later. Keep in mind that many charity names sound alike, and that sham charities often use names that are sound and look like names of legitimate charities.

How much of your donation will go directly to the programs you want to support?

Will your donation be tax-deductible? Not every call seeking a donation is from a charity. Some calls might be from Political Action Committees or other groups where donations are not deductible. See more questions to ask here.

Resist the pressure to donate on the spot.

After you’ve listened to the caller, hang up the phone and think about what they said. Then, go online and do your own research:

Search for the organization’s name and phone number, plus the word “scam” or “complaint.” What you find might help you decide if you want to make that donation.

Look up the organization’s name and address. Does it show up? If it doesn’t, that could be a sign the caller was lying to you.

FTC: How to spot and stop dishonest charity fundraisers

TOPEKA&nbsp;– The start of a new school year is an expensive time for families. If you are struggling to pay for phone and internet services, there are programs to help you stay connected.

During Digital Connectivity and Lifeline Awareness Week, the Kansas Corporation Commission joins utility regulators nationwide in encouraging those in need of assistance to apply for Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Program.&nbsp; Both programs help low-income individuals and families stay connected so they can access health care, attend classes, find employment, and call for help in an emergency.

Lifeline provides federal and state discounts up to $17.02 per month on phone service (wireless or residential) and broadband. Seven million Americans currently benefit from the program, including approximately 30,000 Kansans.

The Federal Communication Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Plan&nbsp; provides a monthly internet service discount of up to $30 and a one-time device discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer or tablet. According to FCC data, more than 20 million U.S. households are currently enrolled, including approximately 120,000 in Kansas.

Eligibility&nbsp;is based on income&nbsp;(at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for Lifeline and at or below 200% for Affordable Connectivity Plan)&nbsp;or participation in certain assistance programs&nbsp;such as:

•&nbsp;&nbsp;Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) •&nbsp; Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) •&nbsp; Federal Public Housing Assistance (FHPA) •&nbsp; Veterans Pensions &amp; Survivors Pension Benefit •&nbsp; Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance •&nbsp; Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families •&nbsp; Head Start Tribal Programs (income based) •&nbsp; Food Distribution Program on Tribal Lands&nbsp;&nbsp;

Anyone who qualifies for Lifeline is automatically eligible to participate in Affordable Connectivity Plan. Others may still qualify for the plan if they meet any of the following criteria:

• Are approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including the&nbsp;USDA Community Eligibility Provision.&nbsp; • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.&nbsp; • Meet the eligibility criteria for a participating broadband provider’s existing low-income program.&nbsp;

Due to higher income maximums, Affordable Connectivity Plan  also has the potential to help families that may not qualify for other types of assistance. The maximum income for a family of four to qualify for the&nbsp; program is&nbsp;$60,000 per year compared to $40,500 for Lifeline. Both Lifeline and Affordable Connectivity Plan offer additional discounts for subscribers living on tribal lands.

Plans available to help Kansans unable to pay for phone, internet services stay connected

The first thing that grabs your attention when you step into Kansas Hempire in Salina isn’t just the well-organized shelves of hemp-based wellness products or the colorful assortment of knits and sweaters — it’s the walls.

A bold mural filled with technicolor mushrooms and the phrase “Good Vibes” in groovy, oversized lettering stretches around the shop, instantly inviting guests in and setting a relaxed tone — just as owner Megan Carolan envisioned.

Before Kansas Hempire, the building at 1300 S. Santa Fe Ave. was home to the House of Sight and Sound, a local music mecca that pulsed with vinyl records, incense, and underground energy from 1971 until its closure in 2011. For Carolan, keeping that counter culture spirit alive was never a question.

“I always believed this building still had so much potential,” Carolan said. “I knew it needed to be a heady-style shop — a place where people feel safe, creative, and accepted.”

To bring her vision to life, Carolan enlisted Junction City based muralist Mindy Allen, whose bold, colorful designs already had a strong following in the community. 

“I’d followed Mindy’s work for years,” Carolan said. “I wanted an artist who naturally fit the energy of this space, and she absolutely delivered.”

For Allen, the project felt like a perfect creative match. 

“It was a design that was right up my alley,” she said. “Once we scheduled a date, I was really excited to get started. I enjoyed the whole process.”

The mural wraps around several walls inside the store, and Allen approached it one section at a time. She began by taking photos of the space and planning how each wall would flow into the next. 

“I try to make each wall feel connected, but also let it have its own identity,” she explained. “Each piece is kind of like its own mural, but they all work together.”

Painting the space involved layering multiple coats of bright, vivid colors — especially challenging for shades like lime green.

“To get those bright tones to pop, you have to build them up,” Allen said. “The lime green took several coats, and I had to start with a lighter color underneath just to get it to show up over the gray wall. Otherwise, it looked like colored water.”

Allen said her daughter, Haley, joined her in the painting process, which not only helped the project get done faster, but also made the experience all that more enjoyable.&nbsp;

The Kansas Hempire mural is one of several large-scale projects Allen has taken on. In 2024, she completed a mural on a grain elevator in Inman, Kansas, celebrating the region’s agricultural history and the legacy of 150 years of Turkey Red wheat.

“That elevator was a challenge, but one of the most rewarding projects I’ve done,” she said. “And it showed me I could handle big, complicated surfaces — which really helped with this wraparound mural.”

Carolan gave Allen full creative freedom, which Allen said she appreciated. 

“The more freedom an artist has, the better the result can be,” she said. “Megan was great to work with — very easygoing and open to ideas.”

Carolan said the finished mural has already made an impact.

“It’s about making people feel something,” she said. “When they walk in, we want them to feel connected.”

The two plan to collaborate again soon on a mural at Carolan’s Abilene location. For now, the vibrant interior mural at Kansas Hempire — located at 1300 S. Santa Fe Ave., Salina, KS 67401 — serves as a tribute to the city’s creative spirit, past, present, and future.

Plumer Landscaping &amp; Irrigation and the Lindsborg Greenhouse &amp; Nursery are inviting families to celebrate 15 years in business with a weekend of creative fun, community giving, and a look ahead to something even bigger.

This weekend, April 4–6, owner Erin Plumer is hosting fairy garden workshops each evening from 5 to 6 p.m. at the nursery. Participants can bring their own containers or purchase supplies on-site. Soil and class instruction will be donated. A $10 ticket helps cover costs, and 10% of the weekend’s proceeds will benefit the Lindsborg Childhood Development Center.

“This is about giving back to the community that helped raise us,” Plumer said. “We grew up in Salina and Lindsborg, and we wanted to do something fun and meaningful.”

The celebration continues the following weekend, April 18–19, with a special open house and fundraiser honoring the life of Dawson Hogan, a young man who tragically passed away in a vehicle crash on I-70 during a windstorm. Free pulled pork barbecue and refreshments will be offered, and 10% of proceeds will again go toward supporting a local cause. Plumer, who grew up with Dawson’s mother Dana Bonilla Hogan, said the event will be a celebration of Dawson’s life and a show of support for his family.

“We’re combining our anniversary with a way to honor Dawson and lift up his family,” Plumer said. “It’s really about community, remembrance, and planting something new—literally.”

Lindsborg nursery marks 15 years with fundraiser and fairy gardens

Salina Police Department officers are investigating a break-in at Cleve’s Marine and Sporting early Thursday morning.

According to Capt. Paul Forrester, officers were dispatched around 7:15 a.m. to the store at 136 S. Broadway after employees received an alarm notification. When police arrived, they discovered that forced entry had been made into a portion of the building.

Several firearms were reported missing but were found just outside the building. The recovered items included a .22 air rifle, a semi-automatic .22 rifle, and another unidentified rifle. All three were damaged and in disrepair.

The total estimated loss is approximately $300. The investigation is ongoing.

Based on the original story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne, this adaptation brings the eighth installment of the beloved Harry Potter series to life on the high school stage. Audiences can expect captivating performances and enchanting storytelling as students take on the challenge of conjuring magic through their creativity and theatrical talents.

However, the students are up to the task, and we have some magic in store.”

Crimestoppers On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at about 2:30 PM, two females entered Sam’s Club, 2919 Market Place, Salina, Kansas, and placed a Dyson Vacuum, Epson Ecotank, Shark hairdryer, clothing items and several cases of food and drinks into a cart. The two subjects then attempted to exit the store through the “Scan and Go” exit but were not allowed to exit due to not having a receipt.

The two then went back to the shopping area of the business before pushing out the cart through the main entrance of the business. They loaded the items into a vehicle and left the area. Total loss was valued at over $1,300.

As part of the festivities, Salina Downtown Inc. will also conduct a receipt raffle from 5 to 7 p.m. Shoppers will receive one raffle entry for every $10 spent downtown during this period.

First Friday brings late-night shopping, live entertainment to Downtown Salina

The City of Salina’s 17th annual E-waste Recycling Event will be held at the Berkley Family Recreational Area, 841 Markley Rd. on Saturday, May 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are delighted to be joined by the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank again this year to collect donations of non-perishables and personal hygiene goods.

E-waste refers to consumer electronic equipment that is obsolete and needs to be discarded properly. Examples include computers, televisions, cameras, gaming systems, phones, and microwaves.

Recycling electronic equipment not only preserves resources like aluminum, copper, gold, silver, and ferrous metals; it also diverts toxic materials like mercury, lead, and cadmium from the landfill. When electronic equipment is recycled, landfill space is also saved.

The event is open to Saline County residents, businesses, and organizations. Nearly any device with a cord or using a battery will be accepted. However, there are some exceptions. To see a detailed list of items that will and will not be accepted at the event, visit: www.salina-ks.gov/ewaste.

Most items will be recycled free of charge; however, there will be a fee collected for the following items:

Participants should enter the event from Markley Road at the water tower and proceed to the drop-off location by following the traffic cones and signs. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles while staff members collect the e-waste and Food Bank donations. Once drop off is complete, participants should exit onto Markley Road at Dean Evans Stadium. Due to the popularity of the event, expect delays in the morning hours.

Recycle old electronics at Salina’s annual e-waste event on May 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kris Bubic took a shutout into the seventh inning and the Kansas City Royals won their first series of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.

Bubic (2-0) allowed five hits, walked one and struck out eight in 6 2/3 innings. His streak of 12 shutout innings was snapped when Ryan Mountcastle tripled to lead off the seventh and scored on Bubic's wild pitch one out later.

Bobby Witt Jr. had three of the Royals' 13 hits, falling a home run shy of the cycle. Salvador Perez, Mark Canha and Maikel Garcia each had two hits and scored a run.

Carlos Estévez earned his second save with a hitless ninth for the Royals. Kansas City, which swept Baltimore in the wild-card round last year, won its first regular-season series against the Orioles since Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, 2019, after having lost six of the last eight series with two ties.

Jorge Mateo – starting in center field for the first time since April 20, 2024 – misplayed Witt's slicing liner into a triple, keying Kansas City's three-run first inning.

Freddy Fermin's second-inning RBI single snapped an 0-for-12 skid as eight of the Royals' first 11 batters hit safely and Kansas City took a 4-0 lead.

Orioles starter Cade Povich (0-1) allowed four runs and a career-high 13 hits in six innings with four strikeouts.

Mountcastle had three of the Orioles' five hits.

Witt's diving stop robbed Jordan Westburg of a first-inning hit – nearly starting an inning-ending double play – then tripled and scored after Mateo's misplay as the Royals took a 3-0 lead in the bottom half.

Witt is hitting .377 at Kauffman Stadium since the start of last season, MLB's best home batting average in that span.

Orioles: Travel to Arizona to begin a three-game series Monday with RHP Zach Eflin (1-1, 3.75 ERA) opposing Diamondbacks RHP Zac Gallen (1-1, 3.38).

Royals: Begin a four-game homestand with Minnesota as Twins RHP Simeon Woods Richardson (0-0, 4.50) faces RHP Michael Lorenzen (0-1, 5.06).

LEAVENWORTH - Kansas Wesleyan Baseball swept Saturday's doubleheader with the University of Saint Mary Spires to already claim the series win at the USM Baseball Field. KWU won the opener 10-0 in a run-rule shortened game, and then posted a 9-1 win in the second contest.

The Coyotes took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning as <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/7a8c8cae-602f-4dac-b312-007a34362e5e?elinkdata=23979">Jacob Williamson</a> led things off with an error and then scored on <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/b01ea729-d24d-4035-b17c-d986d804a1ae?elinkdata=23979">Garrett Garfield's</a> single.

KWU added another run in the second as <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/bef44f4b-5755-4a37-9550-7382801aef1d?elinkdata=23979">Blake Dale</a> singled to score <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/ea9618d9-c561-442b-9e31-4a3bbe841d13?elinkdata=23979">Coulson Riggs</a> who had singled earlier in the inning.

Back-to-back doubles by Williamson and <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/db7df70c-7a81-463f-a4b4-1ed05c728315?elinkdata=23979">Tyler Favretto</a> plated another single run for the Coyotes in the fourth.

The Coyotes scored twice in the sixth as Williamson led off the inning with a single and then scored on Favretto's triple. Garfield then singled to bring in the second run of the inning.

Allen walked to lead off the KWU eighth inning and Dale doubled to bring in Allen. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/b39d19db-5466-4df6-be23-b7ae4b1d32e5?elinkdata=23979">Eric Romero</a> then reached on an error that allowed Dale to score to make it 10-0. Saint Mary would go in order in the bottom of the inning triggering the early ending.

Favretto had three hits and drove in four runs. Williamson, Garfield, Allen and Dale had two hits each. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/92508169-d623-4204-ae87-b775ed19a692?elinkdata=23979">Brett Maddock</a> threw a complete game shutout, scattering five hits over eight innings and striking out four.

In the second game, the Coyotes broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the top of the second. Allen led off the inning with a double and then scored when Romer reached on an error. Favretto singled to score two runs, Garfield singled in a run, and then <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/00c6a744-e992-46c2-aae7-cd50488f6a13?elinkdata=23979">Alex Garcia</a> would score on a delayed double steal to put the Coyotes up 5-0.

Wesleyan added two more in the third as the Coyotes loaded the bases as Finder walked and Dale and Romero were hit by pitches to set up Williamson's 2-run single.

Saint Mary put a run on the board in the bottom of the third.

The Coyotes added two more in the sixth as Garfield was hit by a pitch and pinch runner <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/e56c804c-c5f0-47a7-82e9-36bc3e310b46?elinkdata=23979">Michael Rago</a> would score on Allen's single. Finder singled to drive in another run, and the Coyotes got a single by Dale and a walk by <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/c550689a-baf2-4945-89ec-0fd5dd113525?elinkdata=23979">Lakin Franz</a> to load the bases but could not push another run across.

KWU baseball topples Spires in doubleheader sweep

Kansas Wesleyan Softball got to play Saturday's doubleheader with Southwestern College in the friendly confines of the softball field at Salina South High School thanks to Mother Nature.

With rain on Friday and Saturday morning in Winfield, the doubleheader between the teams was shifted to Salina on the artificial turf surface at the South High fields, the home field for the Coyotes.

Playing as the visitor didn't faze the Coyotes who cruised to a 12-0 and 6-1 win against the Moundbuilders.

The first game started with a boom, literally. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/dfcf5d87-b4c8-49bc-98c7-45afe42230e7?elinkdata=23948">Hailey Summers</a> crushed the second pitch of the game out of the park to straight-away center field, the ball bouncing off Edward Street that sits approximately 50 feet beyond the outfield fence, and into Jerry Ivey Memorial Park.

Two batters later, the Coyotes got a double by <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/dd429469-756b-4441-ac13-c02ce4e1cf9b?elinkdata=23948">Keira Hammen</a> and a single by <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/c0013691-4483-48df-ac22-8e313875b3e0?elinkdata=23948">Trenity Miller</a>. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/56fefcec-7ff8-41fc-bf29-feb336071929?elinkdata=23948">Brooklyn Lange</a> then knocked a double off the top of the fence to bring in a run. After a walk to <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/2158d857-90c3-4085-a36f-5e911f902cb1?elinkdata=23948">Briannah Kutschkau</a> to load the bases, <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/7d9a043b-caa3-4a8a-b37d-f2a9c5048d28?elinkdata=23948">Cadence Mallet</a> singled home two more runs. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/fae9297a-a74f-4ec9-9a0d-411f0e66e54d?elinkdata=23948">Elli Han</a> brought in the fifth run of the inning with a ground out.

<a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/c77b694a-5e0f-4a31-bca9-658ff7d538fd?elinkdata=23948">Jenna Soule</a> doubled in the second followed by Hammen's homer to center field to make it 7-0 Coyotes.

The Coyotes added four more in the third. Mallet singled to start the inning and Han followed with a hit, and an error in right field allowed both runners to move up. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/0bcc8b33-522d-4189-982e-ba3aa1375d57?elinkdata=23948">Josie Buhr</a> followed with a 2-run double to right center. Summers singled and after a pitching change Soule reached on a RBI fielder's choice that scored Buhr. Soule stole second and after a single by Hammen, scored on Miller's sacrifice fly.

Wesleyan added one more in the top of the fifth when Soule reached on an error, stole second on the play, went to third on a passed ball, then scored on a wild pitch.

In the bottom of the fifth Southwestern got a baserunner past second base for the first time in the game thanks to a single and then a double, but could not push a run across.

Hammen had three of KWU's 14 hits in the game, while Summers, Miller and Mallet had two each. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/8bddd430-25c7-4eb8-b675-2ccf6a479d94?elinkdata=23948">Caitlyn Collier</a> scattered five hits across five innings while striking out seven and not issuing a walk for the win.

In the second game, Soule led off the proceedings with a bunt single and then scored on Miller's RBI ground out. Kutschkau then singled to second base and beat out the throw to bring in another run to make it 2-0 after a half inning.

The Coyotes added a run in the third as Han just missed a homer off the top of the fence that bounced back into play for a double and then scored on Miller's single.

Buhr walked in the fourth and then scored on Soule's 2-out double. Han followed with a RBI single to make it 5-0.

Southwestern got on the board for the first time in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it 5-1 and the score would stay there until the seventh when the Coyotes put one more on the board. Han walked to start the inning, Hammen and Miller singled to load the bases and two batters later Mallet hit one to right that was caught but a run scored on the sacrifice fly.

Han had three hits in the game for the Coyotes, while Soule, Miller and Kutschkau had two each. <a href="http://kwucoyotes.com/services/go.ashx/2fdce7f4-577b-4170-bdcc-fd090824eae9?elinkdata=23948">Alli Mickelsen</a> tossed a complete game for the Coyotes, scattering six hits and allowing just one run while striking out seven and not issuing a walk.

KWU is on the road at McPherson on Wednesday.
