NWS issues wind advisories for our area beginning Thursday

Wind advisories have been issued for counties in our area beginning Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

South winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind advisory in effect from noon Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

Republic County

South winds sustained at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving on east-to-west-oriented roadways, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.
