Two earthquakes struck southern Saline County Thursday.

The first, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake, struck at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, according to information from the Kansas Geological Survey. The quake was centered north of Lapsley Road between S. Woodward Road and S. Cunningham Road.

A second quake struck at 3:43 p.m. Thursday a bit northeast of the first. The 2.2 magnitude quake was centered just south of E. Hedberg Road less than a quarter mile east of S. Niles Road.
The quakes were west and southwest of the area where two earthquakes occurred on Wedneday.
