Wind advisories continuing into early Friday morning

Wind advisories have been extended and added until early Friday morning.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended until 1 a.m. Friday a wind advisory for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

South winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected ahead of the cold front. Then north winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected behind the cold front.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has extended until 1 a.m. Friday a wind advisory for the following counties in our area.

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

South winds at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Travel may be difficult for high-profile vehicles and working on elevated surfaces may be hazardous.

Additionally, the National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Friday that includes Republic County.

Northwest winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Travel may be difficult for high-profile vehicles and working on elevated surfaces may be hazardous.

Northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected.
