The Salina Police Department have released further details regarding the status of the 14-year old boy, who was in critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound.

After a press release issued by Salina PD on late Saturday night, it was announced the boy was pronounced deceased at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita.
As the investigation continues, the Salina Police Department will be working with the Saline County Attorney’s Office on requested charges for the 15-year old male suspect who was arrested.
Reportedly, the suspect and victim were acquainted.
Furthermore, in the interest of clarification and accuracy, the Salina Police Department would like to correct earlier information provided regarding the location of the shooting incident.
Salina PD stated the incident occurred at a private single family residence located within the 100 block of Raleigh Street, and was not associated with the Southwind Apartments complex in any way.
The Police Department is apologizing for any confusion or concern, which arose from the previous information.
