Red flag warnings have been issued for much of the state for Wednesday.
The red flag warnings replace the fire weather watches issued earlier this week.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a red flag warning in effect from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.
●Ellsworth County
●Lincoln County
●Marion County
●McPherson County
●Saline County
Extreme grassland fire danger is forecast. Winds are forecast to be from the southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. Relative humidity is forecast to be as low as 12 percent.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and become very difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a red flag warning in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.
●Clay County
●Cloud County
●Dickinson County
●Ottawa County
●Republic County
Southerly winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected. Winds are expected to become westerly by early evening. Humidity is forecast to be as low as 15 percent.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a red flag warning in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.
●Jewell County
●Mitchell County
Winds from the southwest at 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are forecast. Relative humidity is forecast to be as low as 12 percent.
Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and exhibit extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution if engaging in activities that could lead to fire ignition.
