To honor the retirement of City Attorney Greg Bengtson, the City of Salina will holding a reception for his 40 years of service.

On Friday, January 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Tony’s Pizza Event Center (TPEC), Great Plains Conference Center (800 The Midway), the reception will be held.

Bengtson announced his retirement from being an attorney for the City of Salina in October 2025.

As announced by City Manager Jacob Wood, Bengtson will not be fully retiring, but is planning to slow down his practice and the firm’s work for the City of Salina. As part of the transition, the role will be shared among other municipal attorneys within the Clark, Mize, & Linville (CML) firm.

On December 19, 2025 the City of Salina appointed Patrick Hoffman as a full-time, in-house City Attorney.
