City Attorney, Greg Bengtson will be stepping down from his lead role by the end of the year.

As announced by City Manager Jacob Wood, Bengston will not be fully retiring, but is planning to slow down his practice and the firm’s work for the City. As part of the transition, the role will be shared among other municipal attorneys within the Clark, Mize, & Linville (CML) firm.

Back in 1986, the city partnered with CML that appointed Bengtson as attorney.

"It has been a privilege to serve in this role," said Bengston during Monday's City Commission meeting.

The city will seek for a full-time, in-house City Attorney.
