Red flag warnings have been issued for counties in the northern part of our area.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a red flad warning in effect from noon to 10 p.m. Monday that includes the following counties in our area.
Jewell County
Mitchell County
South winds at 15 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 15 to 20 percent are forecast.
Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and exhibit extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution if engaging in activities that could lead to fire ignition.
Additionally, the National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a red flag warning in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Monday that includes the following counties in our are
Cloud County
Republic County.
Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and minimum relative humidity values between 15 and 20 percent are forecast.
Any fires that develop in areas with dried fuels will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
