UPDATE: NWS issues winter weather advisories for counties in our area

Winter weather advisories have been issued for counties in our area.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

Snow is expected, with total accumulations of up to two inches. Additionally, winds gusting as high as 45 mph are forecast.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Windchills in the single digits are likely.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to noon on Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

Republic County

Mixed precipitation expected, with total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds are forecast to gust as high as 45 mph.

Plan on slippery road conditions.
