UPDATED: NWS severe thunderstorm warning issued in our area

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 1115 PM CDT for Lincoln, Ellsworth and northeastern Barton counties.

At 10:06 p.m. CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles north of Ellsworth, moving east at 55 mph.

Hazard
70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include Ellsworth, Wilson, Claflin, Kanopolis, Lincoln, Holyrood, Sylvan Grove, Beverly, Lorraine, Barnard, Ash Grove, Westfall, Ellsworth Airport, Kanopolis Lake, Kanopolis State Park, Odin, and Wilson State Park.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Russell and North Central Barton Counties

At 1003 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Wilson, moving east at 30 mph.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations Impacted

Dorrance, Wilson State Park, and Wilson Lake.

At 9:49 p.m. CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dorrance, or near Wilson, moving southeast at 30 mph. An 81 mph gust was observed at Russell Airport.
