NWS: wind chill advisories remain in effect for our area

Wind chill advisories from the National Weather Service are still in effect for our area.

A wind chill advisory remains in effect through noon Saturday for the following counties in our area, according to NWS in Wichita.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

McPherson County

Saline County

Very cold air will drive wind chills as low as 20 below at times.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

This will be a long duration period of dangerously cold conditions that will span multiple days, potentially lasting into the middle of next week.

Additionally, a wind chill advisory remains in effect until noon Saturday for Marion County, according to NWS in Wichita.
