The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory for central, south-central, and southeast Kansas, including Salina, until 6 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters warn of south winds ranging from 25 to 35 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. These strong winds could blow unsecured objects around, potentially knocking down small tree limbs and causing isolated power outages.

Motorists, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles, are advised to use extra caution on the roads as wind gusts may make driving difficult.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items and prepare for possible disruptions due to strong winds. The advisory includes Saline County as well as surrounding areas, including Barton, McPherson, Reno, and Sedgwick counties.
