UPDATE 7:10 p.m. Thursday: A third earthquake struck late this afternoon.

At magnitude 2.4, a third quake struck at 4:39 p.m. Thursday west-southwest of Mankato, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The quake was nearly two miles south of U.S. Highway 36 between 70 Road and 80 Road.

JEWELL COUNTY - Two more earthquakes rattled parts of Jewell County again today.
The quakes came a day after a 3.4 magnitude quake shook part of the county.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 3.6 magnitude quake struck at 7:57 a.m. Thursday several miles west of the Jewell County State Park. It was centered just north of J Road between 70 Road and 80 Road. The United States Geological Survey rated the quake at 3.2 magnitude.

The second earthquake, a 2.4 magnitude quake, struck at 8:58 a.m. Thursday north-northwest of the first, Kansas Geological Survey reported. It was centered just north of N Road and just east of 70 Road.
