Sacred Heart traveled to Minneapolis on Friday night as the Knights and Lions split a doubleheader for the second time this season.
Minneapolis girls 47, Sacred Heart 38
In the opener of the doubleheader, the Lady Knights held an early 3-2 lead, but trailed for the majority of the game.
Minneapolis was in front 11-10 after the opening quarter and led by as many as nine points in the first half. At halftime, the Lady Lions were in front 27-19.
Sacred Heart opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to a single point, but that was as close as the Lady Knights would get. Minneapolis led 31-26 heading into the fourth quarter and pulled away for a 47-38 win.
Adelyn Lee led Sacred Heart with 14 points. Katie Weiss scored 10 and Avery Eshleman added eight.
Sacred Heart falls to 9-6 overall and is now 3-4 in the NCAA league.
Sacred Heart boys 61, Minneapolis 36
Sacred Heart split the doubleheader header as the Knights blew out the Lions for the second time this season.
After trailing by five at the end of the opening quarter, Minneapolis was within 12-10 early in the second period. Sacred Heart responded with 13 unanswered points and didn't look back.
After leading 29-20 at halftime, the Knights held the Lions to only four points in the third quarter as they went on for a 25-point road win.
In the 61-36 victory, Evan Bogart led the way with a game-high 15 points as five Knights scored in double-figures. Sacred Heart improves to 13-2 overall and 5-2 in the NCAA league.
The Knights will now turn their attention to Concordia as the Panthers will be in Salina for a boys and girls twinbill on Saturday night.
