NWS-Severe thunderstorm updates June 28

**Severe Thunderstorm Warning**

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the following areas:

- Northeastern Dickinson County in central Kansas

- Southwestern Geary County in east central Kansas

- South central Riley County in northeastern Kansas

**Warning Duration:**

- Until 6:30 PM CDT

**Current Conditions:**

- As of 5:42 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Chapman, moving east at 20 mph.

- **Hazards:** 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

- **Source:** Radar indicated.

- **Impacts:**

- Hail damage to vehicles is expected.

- Wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees is likely.

**Locations Impacted:**

- Junction City

- Ogden

- Grandview Plaza

- Chapman

**Interstate Impact:**

- This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 286 and 306.

**Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:**

- For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

**Additional Information:**

- A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 11:00 PM CDT for central, northeastern, and east central Kansas.
