Meteorologists from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita will present a storm spotter training session in Salina to help weather enthusiasts and storm spotters prepare for the upcoming severe weather season.
The training is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 201 of the Peter Science Hall at Kansas Wesleyan University.

NWS staff will deliver an in-depth presentation covering:
• Different types of storms
• Recognizing storm features that indicate severity
• How to report hazardous weather
• Severe weather safety
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of storm structures and their potential dangers. The NWS encourages anyone interested in weather, storm spotting, or emergency preparedness to attend.
Officials may also offer a virtual presentation option, with details to be announced. Updates on virtual sessions will be provided as they become available.
