UPDATE: Two small quakes rattle parts of eastern Marion County

UPDATE 2:10 p.m. Tuesday: A second minor earthquake struck eastern Marion County Tuesday.

The 2.1 magnitude quake struck at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday several miles northwest of the first, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The second quake was centered just south of 250th Street east of Zebulon Road.

MARION - Another small earthquake struck eastern Marion County this morning near the location of a Sunday morning quake.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck east-northeast of Marion at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday. The Tuesday quake was just a bit southeast of Sunday's 2.8 magnitude quake and was centered just north of 220th Street between Clover Road and the Marion-Chase county line.
