Donald Dean Mosiman

Don’s life began on September 5, 1932, at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kansas. He was the son of John and Marie (Mueller) Mosiman. Don was a 1950 graduate of Whitewater High School. Don served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, where he trained scout dogs in Germany until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Marilyn R. Schuessler on September 2, 1955, at the Valley Center First Baptist Church. Don was a stockman and farmer in the rural Furley area for his entire life. He served on the Green Valley Cemetery Board from 1989-2017, the Furley Grade School Board, the Furley Grain Company Board. He was a member of Palmyra Baptist Church, serving in the past as treasurer and a trustee. The family was named the Sedgwick County Farm Family of the Year in 1996. His loving family surviving him includes his wife of 68 years, Marilyn Mosiman; children Rhonda Mosiman of El Dorado, Bret (Julie) Mosiman of Benton, Diane (Allen) Hosler of El Dorado, Tracy (Dennis) Boldt of Hillsboro and Carolyn ( Bronson) Webb of El Dorado; grandchildren Cort Mosiman, Ellen Youngman, Addie Entz, Matthew Webb, Anna Webb, Katie Webb, Daniel Webb, Lane Hosler, Brooke Hosler, Dillon Boldt and Dawson Boldt; six great grandchildren; and sister Elizabeth Bowlin, brothers Wayne Mosiman and Duane Mosiman, sister in law Madeline Mosiman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don passed away on Friday April 5, 2024, at Kidron Bethel in North Newton. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Johnny, Willard, Gerald, and Eldon Mosiman. A visitation time, with family present, will be held on Friday April 12, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday April 13, 2024, at Palmyra Baptist Church, Benton, with a reception to follow. A private family burial, with military honors, will precede the funeral service at Green Valley Cemetery.
