Wind chill advisories have been issued for our area in advance of the winter storm forecast to hit late Wednesday into Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from 12 a.m.-11 a.m. Thursday for the following counties in our area.
Ellsworth County
Lincoln County
Marion County
McPherson County
Saline County
Very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero to 20 below zero are forecast.
The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling, or working, outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to noon on Thursday for the following counties in our area.

Mitchell County
Very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 20 below zero to 29 below zero are forecast. North winds of 15 to 20 mph are expected along with gusts to around 25 mph.
The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
