Freeze watches issued for multiple counties in our area

Freeze watches have been issued for much of Kansas, including multiple counties in our area.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued freeze watches in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday morning and from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

McPherson County

Saline County

For the first freeze watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 are possible. For the second freeze watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 are possible.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Additionally, the National Weather Service in Wichita has issued freeze watches in effect from late Monday night through Tuesday morning and from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning for the following counties in our area.

Marion County

For the first freeze watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 are possible. For the second freeze watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 are possible.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued freeze watches in effect from Monday evening through Tuesday morning and from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

Republic County

Lows Tuesday morning are expected to be in the upper 20s or low 30s. A killing freeze is forecast for Wednesday morning with readings expected to fall into the middle 20s and temperatures below freezing for as much as eight hours.

The cold weather could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left unprotected.
