On Tuesday, the Sacred Heart golf team added another trophy to their already cluttered case, as the Knights cruised to a ninth-consecutive 2A state golf title.

Sacred Heart all but locked up the championship on day one, taking a 38-stroke lead on the next closest squad from Ellinwood, and driving the final nails into the rest of the field’s coffin on a windy day two yesterday.

Individually, Sacred Heart had five golfers place in the top-12. With Michael Matteucci in second, Luke Newell in third, and Walker Tuttle in fourth.

Tuesday was also a great day for the Kansas Wesleyan softball program, who had 4 student-athletes named to the 2024 All-KCAC Softball team

Sydnee Fordham, Caitlyn Collier, Eliza Flores and Josie Buhr all collected honors on the heels of yet another successful softball season

And finally, the Kansas City Royals kept their hot streak going winning a fifth-straight contest on Tuesday, blasting past the division rival Tigers by a final score of 10-3

Bobby Witt homered twice and Hunter Renfroe added another in the seventh to cap off the big offensive day

The Royals will have an opportunity to complete a second-straight sweep this afternoon at 1:10
